Im afraid they read the wrong thing. This is not a joke. Moonlight has won best picture. Moonlight. Best picture. It was a la la land producer that announced the gap. Im a little bit in a daze. They just handed us an envelope and we just started accepting and everybody came up and there were people with head sets that started coming out on the stage and it was suddenly clear that something wasnt right. Very clearly. Even if my dreams this could not be true. This is true. Its true. Its not fake. We have been on the road with these guys for so long and that was so gracious and generous to them. My love to everybody. The reactioning backstage were equally confusing. Is that the craziest oscar moment of all time . Cool. Guys we made history tonight. I noticed the comotion that was happening and i thought something strange had occurred. And then im sure everybody saw my face but i was speechless. After the mistake with the biggest prize was corrected moonlight into the night with three wins; best picture, adapted screen play and actor in a surveillance porth role. He becomes the first muslim actor to win an Academy Award. Its not about you. Its about these characters. You are serving, youre in service to these stories and these characters and im so blessed to have had an opportunity. A new record was set for the most black oscar winners in a single year with five taking home awards in four different categories. Its important to take a second to appreciate what is happening here. The questions that persist about the contacts that were made from people on the trump team with russia. You were part of the transition. What do you know about the relationship between team trump and russia . Well, i think right now Everybody Needs to take a step back. All we really know, the only thing thats come out is that the National Intelligence community illegally wiretapped a private citizen having a conversation. Thats the only thing we know. The rest of it is very imprecise allegations and rumors and inuendo. I dont know what the allegation is about the contacts. Ill spell it out for you. There were repeated contacts between high level trump aids and russia and that this was before mr. Trump was in the white house. Which of course as we know theres only one president at a time so that would run afoul of rules and tradition that you dont start negotiating with russia forever hand as well as because of mr. Foreman trumps tone perhaps the relationship was cozy. I think again like i said what we have is the National Intelligence community with illegal tapping letting out that information to the Washington Post in an effort to take out former National Security adviser Michael Flynn and i think if you take a step back at some of the other election where is allegations like this have been made, particularly in 96 with the chinese fundraising we had actual evidence of the chinese trying to influence the election through financial contributions. The president was making fundraising calls out of his official office. Those are real illegal activities. What were talking about here again is just a imprecise allegation and again the only real fact that we have is that the National Intelligence community illegally capped Michael Flynn a private citizen having conversations. So you dont think that what the 17 intel Agency Versus said about russia hacking the dnc you dont think that thats real evidence. I dont think we have all the facts in that regard. All im say as good what has been reported so far and what we do know doesnt lead to an investigation that even needs to occur. A lot of this is just confusion that the media is trying to pull it up. All we know is what ive already talked about and at this point i dont think theres enough for an investigation to even go forward. The intel agencies do listen in on phone calls of russian officials. So why do you believe that what they did was illegal when they captured the phone call with Michael Flynn. Well, Michael Flynn is a private citizen and he has his own rights. I dont think they should be wiretapping private citizens in the United States and releasing that to the media. Its a dangerous place to go and probably somewhere most americans will agree with. Democrats, liberals, and others can agree an releasing information to the media. As they were listening in on the russian diplomat as they do and they capture whoever he talks to. You know what they did in terms of their surveillance, the only point here is an illegal tap of a private citizen. They took him out from the National Security Advisory Committee in his nsa position and the same attorney general, acting attorney general at the time that made an allegation and was subject to blackmail from russia. That is bureaucracy in d. C. That is trying to thwart the president s agenda at every turn. Are you saying you dont think there needs to be an investigation into this. Thats not in question. I certainly support that. No question there. What im say as good in terms of investigation and even what congressm Congress Said over the weekend we need to look careful at this going forward. The only illegal activity is on the part of the interNational Intelligence community. We just dont know. Theres reports that theres other high level trump team advisers, Paul Manafort that also may have had contacts and are still being investigated. Well have to wait and see what the rules of the investigations are. President trump has taken offers and across the federal bureaucracy so he can start changing the course of state so we can move our agenda down the field and a lot of the conversation swres been having so far, all the nonsense at the or cars last night is just a distraction from getting that accomplished but we have a bureaucracy and judiciary thats very activist in terms of rolling back his executive order on immigration and democrats slow rolling the whole nomination process and holding up him getting his team in place. As you pointed out its also the republican congressman thats calling for a special prosecutor. Do you feel he is . Hes in a tough race, a close race. I think hes taking care of his election back home. Which ever congressman probably needs to do to make sure that they get reelected. I dont hold him at fault for any of that. Even from his original comments on the show when he called for some kind of investigation. First it was an independent prosecutor and then over the weekend he walked back to having osc, office of special council to the investigation which is an entirely different matter in terms of the level of seriousness.
