What we saw today here in portsmouth, New Hampshire, was a frustrated Jeb Bush Bush and as you have republicans who have long wanted him to be the nominee, they have been supporting him, hes insisting that he still has the organization, the money and perhaps the most importantly the heart to see this campaign through. Its not on life support. We have the most organization. Were doing fine. Jeb bush is back on the trail today trying to convince voters that his campaign is not on life support. Its not about the big personalities on stage. Its not about performance. Its about leadership. They need to grind it out and do need to do better in the upcoming debate. And with the bush campaign, who thought jeb bush was going to walk away with the nomination. The reviews for bush are grim and the Tampa Bay Times said it was the beginning of the times and republican consultants say the campaign is on life support. You heard mark preston say that its toxic. Is it time for him to drop out as so many are now openly discussing . Actually, thats the suggestion that is ridiculous. To believe that last night one of many debates was in any way dispositive or game changing, you have to, one, want to believe it about jeb bush and, two, you have to ignore the evidence with a bunch of yeah buts. You could say the debates matter all that much, Carly Fiorina would have been at center stage last night. Yeah, but. But if you said, well, poor performance, then you say, well, then carson wouldnt even be on the stage. Yeah, but. Sharp exchanges like jeb had with marco that didnt work out. If they were fatal to your campaign, trump would be out of the race. So this is just a lot of talk because we have to talk after these debates but its not going to change the course of the race. Blocking and tackling is going to change the course of the race. Rick, do you think this will change the course of the race . Yes, the media obviously has an opinion how this went and didnt go well for jeb bush and its not just the media. His own Campaign Manager was banging on the production door. That seems like a rather panicked move. Well, look, i think that as max said correctly, no single incident is going to be dispositive in this campaign. Progress and sort of reorientation on how he can win in this current political environment and needs to be showing a consistent progress over time if the donors are going to maintain confidence in him. That moment with marco rubio, when it happened, i was walking into the kitchen briefly and stopped dead in my tracks. It was painful to watch it. Because bush has been his mentor, his friend, it was hard to watch it. Let me just play for you why. Its nice to see a young man passionate about these foundational beliefs and marco rubio speaks better than anybody ive ever met about these things. Marco would bring incredible energy. Hes the most articulate speaker for conservative principles in America Today and hes my friend. I have special place in my heart for him. Its hard to describe the pride i feel for his incredible success and. It came off as either over prepared or desperate. Obviously youre backing bush. You do think that didnt work . Yeah. I would agree with that. It was poorly conceived and poorly executed. That moment will come but last night was too early. My feeling is at the end of the day this will shake out with there being a champion of the republican party. Looks like said cruz and mainstream wing of the republican party. One day the two of them will have to post up but not when theres 11 candidates. So i think that they need to be more patient and wait for the right moment. So rick, next debate, less than two weeks away. Little time to prepare. How significant does that mean it is . Especially if youre jeb bush . You know you have failed and now all of a sudden the stakes are even higher. That often is not a situation where people are successful. Well, i think that the pressure of debates in quick succession is something that they have to become accustomed to and jeb is extraordinarily bright and i think you are going to see some more sparks. Is he ready, really ready to be president . Yeah. You know, i think thats kind of an interesting attack. If you look at, for example, barack obama in 2008, his experience at that point makes marco rubio look like an original signer of the declaration of independence, by contrast. They were both firstterm senators. But he was a speaker of house in florida which is not an insignificant amount of experience and you look at the stage on wednesday night, look at the frontrunners. Donald trump, ben carson, ted cruz. Marco has more experience than all of those guys. Its an attack thats been tried time and time again over the course of history and it doesnt really stick all that well. Van . Well, listen, hes got enough experience to run for the office. I think the problem is he presents himself now as like this poor kid, the bartenders kid, sure, ive made his steaks but im a poor kid. Its so easy to start punching back. The reality is, he had almost a Million Dollar book deal on the table. Hes making 300,000 a year. He commingled money with his campaign and got fined. His wife was involved. You cant do this boy scout thing over and over again. What do you say on the issues of finance, the questions that becky raised, commingling the Campaign Money, using money from his book deal for purchases, whether it be a boat or a car. A lot of people can relate to that but it raises questions for some about his readiness, his wisdom, his discipline. I think if selling books was a crime, we wouldnt have any president ial candidates at all. But the issue where senator rubio, best i can tell, the attack was that he bought a fishing boat. Most americans kind of find refreshing that theyve got somebody whose finances they can relate to. If they wanted to only vote for a millionaire, they have a heck of an opportunity to do that. People may be able to relate to him but will they want someone who has challenges paying their bills like they do in the oval office . Its going to be tough. I agree that he is relatable on this point. A lot of people in america are going to say, look, ive had financial troubles after the bush recession. Ive had problems. But the question hes got to deal with the money how it impacts the rest of his life. For instance, he has a 1 billionaire backer. The problem with trump he says no one can buy me. With rubio, hes more relatable but the money question will keep comi coming up for him. The bad side is, you dont handle money well, youre too close to a couple of key billionaires and, im telling you, i knew the moment was coming that he was going to break out. Hes unbelievably talented. But you can oversell yourself on what a boy scout is and every time the answer cant be, im going to attack the media. Thats going to wear thin very quickly. This guy is unbelievably talented but hes got to be careful. Josh, ill give you a quick, final word. Hes young looking so its refreshing but he does have a baby face. Yeah. No. I think thats why were seeing a lot of attacks about inexperience and relative usefulness. Hes the same age as ted cruz and were not talking about that and within the same ballpark as obama when he was elected. When trump walked into this room, a lot of people also liked carson as well as himself. He played it safer tonight and thats what youve got to do if youre competing to win over the same pool of voters. Witnesses told police a bandito fired a shot into the ground and another says a cossack fired first and they point the finger at each other or claim they didnt see anything. Clifford pierce claims he hit the dirt and was shot. A bullet hits his spine leaving pierce paralyzed from the waist down. It was pretty horrific. There were guys getting hit and falling and i realized that i needed to get away from where i was and i looked at the guy to my right, my left, a good friend of mine and i told him, weve got to get off the sidewalk or were going to die here, you know. Reporter mayhem ensues. A biker fire as gunshot caught on camera towards the fight scene in the parking lot. He then stashes the gun. A number of cossacks take cover. Waitresses are stunned and trapped. The scene plays out in gory detail. You can see a group of bikers pummeling one man outside the patio area. Crime scene photos later show a bikers body left dead in that exact spot. This biker runs towards the camera with a bloody face. Another group pulls a wounded man into the patio and they appear to be trying to hes then carried away. Several Defense Attorneys say the videos show most of the bikers there that day was innocent bystanders. Yall going to put us in jail . Yeah, everybody is going to jail. The way they handled it with the mass incarceration of people with Million Dollar bonds, flies in the face of justice and flies in the face of fairness. Its ridiculous. Reporter after it was all over, the scene was chaos. Dozens of bikers ran inside the restaurant to hide in the bathrooms and kitchen. Police swat teams move in to round up the crowd and escorted out with hands up, weapons litter the crime scene, knives, brass knuckles and more than 150 firearms everywhere. Some even hidden in toilets. Its been more than five months since the twin breaks brawl and all of the bikers are out of jail, out on bond. They were charged with engaging in organized criminal activity, but not one of them has been indicted by a grand jury yet and no one has been charged with murder. In fact, its still not clear whom killed whom. One Police Report says at least three officers fired into the crowd and he heard suppressed fire from what i believe to be swat officers with suppressed rifles. Its likely some bikers were hit by Police Bullets but ballistics reports have not become pleated to determine that. Police and prosecutors have refused to answer questions about the investigation siting a gag order but waco police have defended their actions since the beginning. This is a criminal element that came in here yesterday and killed people. They are not here to drink beer and eat barbecue. They came with violence in mind and were ready for it. There is a great deal of work and of usually a lot of questions how the entire process played out and 177 people essentially waiting to hear what their fate is going to be, waiting for this grand jury to make its ruling.
