Process. These are all things that 80 of americans agree with and that President Trump is doing within 30 days. If you look at the lines of work, i break it out of the three verticals of three buckets, your intelligence, defense department, Homeland Security, the second is economic nationalism, that is commerce, treasur treasury, trade, the people who are thinking of how to reconstruct trade agreement around the world. Third what is deconstruction of the administrative state. And if you [ applause ] so i think one of the most pivotal moments in modern American History was his immediate withdrawal from tpp and let our sovereignty come back to ourselves, the people ma Mainstream Media dont get this, but are starting to think bilateral trading relationships with people that will reposition people in america and start to bring high added manufacturing jobs back to the United States of america. On the National Security part, certainly i think the first two eos that you started to see i implemented under general kelly. Attorney general sessions are adamant, youre going to start to see with the Defense Budget were going to bring out and certain things about the plan on isis and what general mattis and these guys think i think you will start to see the other part of that. But third the regulation, every Business Leader we have had in is saying not just taxes but the regulation, it is consistent. If you look at the cabinet appoint appointees, the way the Progressive Left runs is if they cant get it passed theyll put it in a regulation, and thats all going to be deacconstructed. The fact that we are promle gating more laws and regulations than ever before an thats because of the independent agencies on auto pilot and coming from as conservatives we know a lot of times we fight out political wars we care about and liberals like a lightning bolt out of the sky just changed things so what you are saying about changing that order is amazing. We all excuse me a lot of news, theres been a great democratization in news. People get their news from hundreds of thousands of sites. What are these polls is donald trump doing a good job, bad job, we have been hearing it all day long, what does the media keep getting wrong about this trump phenomena in the country, and is there any hope this changes . We hope theres going to be change, we sit here and the president pumps out all this work and executive orders and punches through the promises he made to the American People, and hoping that the media would eventually catch up to it but im so conditioned of why President Trump isnt going to win the election, why a controversy in a primary is going to take down President Trump, i lived through it as chairman of the party and it really hit me because it was maybe the summer of 2015 and you remember the media was constantly pounding President Trump and the polling kept Getting Better and better and better for President Trump but it was when i went home and got out of this town and went back to kenosha and talked to my neighbor around i said bob, what do you think . He goes man, i really love that trump, and i said sandy, what do you think . And she says were for trump. And as you all lived through it too, you all had people you were for but you kept running into your neighbors and people you know what did they keep telling you . Trump, trump. [chanting] trump, trump, trump. Can tomorrow, just be patient. I knew, so it was back then, my family and my sister who is a doctor out in san diego and everyone around me that nothing was im penetrabpenetrable it wa bigger than one story one off issue, it was going to change the direction we were heading and it was President Trump was the answer. Its not only going to get better its going get worse, they are adamantly opposed. Adamantly opposed to economic nationalist agenda like donald trump has. President trump really laid this out as reince said years ago at c pack, it was c pack that originally gave him the spring board at breitbart and saw how people his speeches resonated with people and would go out to these smaller town halls later and he got traction with the same message hes bringing today. Its going to get worse because hes going to continue to press his agenda and as Economic Conditions get better and job ares get better theyre going to fight, if you think theyre going to give the country back without a fight you are sadly mistaken, every day, every day is going to be a fight, and all the opportunities he had to waiver off this all the people come to him and say you got to moderate, every day he tells reince and i i promise pd this to the American People and im going to deliver on this. [ cheers and applause ] how novel. How interesting. I remember i was being asked by some reporters that you were like why is trump doing x, y or z . And i said because he said he would do it on the campaign trail its really not that complicated, is it . I like that one. There are some parts of this though that are fitful, the American Conservative Union was created after Barry Goldwater last in 1964 to take rights from the conservative movement and so there are those folks that consider themselves classical conservatives, libertarians, other folks part of this new Trump Movement and trump brought in a lot of new people into this movement so theres a lot of diversity, we know it when were at the bar at the end of the day, and can this Trump Movement be combined with whats been happening at c pack and other conservative movements for 50 years . And save the country . First of all, it has to and we have to stick together as a team. I think what we have got is an Incredible Opportunity to use this victory that President Trump and all of us and you and everyone made this happen to Work Together, continue to communicate. Its very similar, some of the core principals of President Trump are very similar to those of Ronald Reagan peace through stre strength and build up the military, how many times have you heard him say im going to take care of the military, our vets that we dont have a navy and planes nowhere to be found. Peace through strength. Deregulation, you think about the economy and economic boom that was created, and some of it is going to take a little time to get the jobs back, to get more money in peoples pockets, those things are going to happen. In the meantime, we have to stick together and make sure that weve got President Trump for eight years and hes somebody [ applause ] that we know were going to be very proud of as these things get done, but its going to take all of us to make it happen. I said theres a new political order being formed out of this, and still being formed but if you look at the degree of opinions in this room whether youre a pop list, a libertarian, economic nationalist, we have wide an sometimes diversion opinions but i think the center core of what we believe that were a nation with an economy, not an economy with Global Economy with open borders but were a culture and a reason for being an i think thats what unites us, president is coming tomorrow. Absolutely and the vice president. And he understands in c pack there are many, many voices but hes here to say appreciation and drive this movement forward. This is where he got his launch, six, seven years ago, five years ago and he wanted to show his appreciation. Were at the top of the first inning of this, and its going to take just as much fight, focus and determination and the one thing i would like to leave you guys today with is we want you to have our back. [ applause ] but more importantly [ applause ] by the way, President Trump we never doubted that for a second but more importantly hold us accountable, hold us accountable to what we promised, hold us accountable for delivering what we promised. Let me just ask as we close this out. Its time for you guys have been so kind of kumbaya here its time for a little bit of a group hug. Let me ask you okay im sorry im going do the Barbara Walters thing, for those of you who remember Barbara Walters, you worked really closely with steve, you say the two offices are really close to each other, what do you like the most about him . Uh. Hold on let him think. I love how many collars he wears. Interesting look. One thing were different, but were very similar, i think he is very dogged making sure every day that the promises that President Trump has made are the promises that were working on every day, number one. Number two, hes incredibly loyal. And number three, which i think is a really important quality as were working together to see to it that President Trumps vision is enacted is that hes extremely consistent, that as you can imagine, there are many things hitting the president s ear and desk every day. Different things that come to the president that want to move him off of his agenda, and steve is very consistent and very loyal to the agenda and is a presence i think is very important to have in the white house. And i consider secondly, and a very dear friend, a very dear friend, and someone that i work with every second of the day, and actually we i cherish his friendship. I can run a little hot on occasions, and reince is indefat ka indefatkabl low key, and the only way this thing works is reince is always steady, katie, very steady but his job is by far one of the toughest jobs to make it run and the trains run, down the road to the degree of planning it all the eos, legislation, reince is saying we got to drive this forward, got to drive this forward by the way this started back in august, you were outgunned, outmanned, and President Trump had people here at c pack and reince has been unwavering since the moment i met him. I think the best thing we could do is to let these two guys get back to work, what do you think . Thanks for being here. Thank you, matt. All right. What shall we call that . That was a little bit of a love fest, kumbaya fest. Not often you see them speaking out especially steve bannon, not a lot of people have even heard him speak, there you have interviewing those two men, really the question was whats the biggest misconception and Reince Priebus said everything youre reading so went on to compliment each other and bannon referring to the Opposition Party, starting to get into a war and well look at whether or not its effective. I have a number of smart voices here, Gloria Borger let me bring you in first, we have had reporting between reince beepris and steve bannon the knives are out. They deny, deny, deny. I think the point they were making is they kind of need each other in a interesting way, reince said the thing about steve bannon is he is the person who is loyal and makes sure that Donald Trumps promises are kept. And we know from the campaign that steve bannon was in many ways brains behind the campaign, visionary if you will if you consider donald trump is the main visionary always, and that bannon would be there, an steve bannon admitted i can run hot, which he does, and that reince is kind of the steady force, and so they are making the case that they Work Together and that of course they work for one person, donald trump, because there have been stories that they were disagreeing, that they do have some different visions and were not so sure that isnt still true, but they are going out there to sort of make the case that theyre a welloiled machine. What did you make of that, special will i the fact that not many people have heard from steve bannon, hes a political animal. Yeah, i think it was a great pr move for the white house, saying this is the greatest 30 days, he talked about the greatest cabinet, trump is going to be one of the greatest president s every, that hes maniacally focused, they talked about tpp being one of the best things in the world. And in terms of messages, i think its necessary to look at what we saw today and bannon talking about economic nationalism and the bookend of that is what we saw before is tillerson in mexico talking about the relationship with mexico and we see i think from the mexican leaders there really what the downside of economic nationalism might be with those mexican leaders are really in some ways lecturing america about human rights, talking about a long way to go in terms of repairing this relationship, so theres one thing i think to have this kind of p. R. Move from the white house talking about economic nationalism, talking about law and order and then to see some of the affects of that in what it really means in terms of americas relationship to this ally to our south. Ive got voices on the left and the right. Well press a little further whether this has been a peachey keen 30 days in the white house. And saying its not going to get better with regard to the media, it will get worse, take a look. How they portrayed the campaign, and stradministration its always wrong, on the first day we reached out to sean spicer, and its the same team that did the transition, if you remember the campaign was the most chaotic by the medias description most chaotic, most disorganized had no idea on earth what they were doing and then you saw them crying and weeping that night, and the reason it worked, the reason it worked is President Trump. I mean, trump had those ideas, had that energy, that vision that could galvanize a team around him, were a coalition, a lot of people have strong beliefs about Different Things but we understand you can come together to win and we understood that from august 15th and we never had a doubt and donald trump never had a doubt that he was going to win. And i think thats the power of this movement. So on that point dylan byers, our senior media politics reporter, i know you have a window into his thinking, this is clearly he wants the administration to be at war with the media, he wants people in america to think that the media is bad or evil or fake, but you look at these numbers, especially from on Donald Trumps approval down to 38 , i dont think the people are buying it. Look, first of all lets say its a strategic moving to against the media, a lot is coming from bannon but is also something sincere, thats something bannon has believed in his core since well before he joined the trump campaign. He really does not like the media, he really views you think . Really views them as the Opposition Party. There are a lot of people there who actually say they would like to have positive relationships with the media, they would like to see that relationship get better over the course of the next four years. Steve bannon doesnt say that at all. He said he could care less about establishing a positive relationship with the media, so its sincere and something that everyone in that administration has really come to feel and believe. Theyre wearing a chip on their shoulder because in so many months and some cases years they were told they were going to lose, on the wrong side of the history, they feel theyre emboldened. You heard steve bannon say this is the top of the first inning, he really believes that, the approval numbers are low, are they low among the base, low at whats coming out at kr, pac pa no, he believes he only needs to cater to that part of the country. Mark, i see you you want to jump in, what are you thinking . Its just a bizarre thing, that was like a scary buddy comedy, the language they use, were going to impose sovereignty, like kicking get rid of the administrative state, and this media thing, frame them as the Opposition Party allows them to not be accountable for any mistakes contradictions any lies its a very dangerous moment and i agree trump is very popular among the base and c pack, the question is can you reach to the bulk of american who are increasingly disappointed. Were hearing their logic and reaction and its a little scarey to me. Anna . First of all, Reince Priebus ive known him since he was elected chair of the rnc, he the post mortem after mitt romneys loss which was to be about growing in the tent, bringing in gays, hispanics, and all the minorities not part of the traditional Republican Base the last few years and what i saw him and heard him do today is adopt trumps words, superlatives talk about the walls things reince would not have talked about before. The other thing obvious to me is that they are there trying to make a conservative movement their movement. Trump is not a conservative. He is a populists hes a trumpist, there were Something Like eight members of the Trump Administration showing up at c pack, an enormous amount of administration presence, they are trying to court that base, keep them in their corner tell them its us against them, us against the media, its us against the world, against our enemy, and you are our army. Does it work . Well, it works with that base. During the campaign. Does it a work in a general spectrum . No, his numbers are lower and getting lower, hes got Something Like a 39, 38 approval but certainly works with the base. The minute they start losing the base theyre lost period. They have to work on keeping them happy, keeping them activated keeping them engaged, backing them no matter what. One other thing they mentioned a couple of times and a big plus is the nomination of neil gorsuch as the Supreme Court nominee, but interest any senator ted cruz said this. I think well have another Supreme Court vacancy this summer. If that happens, as much as the left is crazy now, they will go full armageddon meltdown because the next vacancy is where we have the ability to get back and restore our basic constitutional protections. Gloria, is there something the texas senator knows that we dont . Well, there must be, and hes also assuming the person who resigns would have been appointed by a democratic president. We dont know any of that. To flip it. And flip it would change the balance on the court. Neil gorsuch if confirmed would take scalias place. This is such a trigger point for conserve tiatives. They didnt trust him, he was talk b about his sister, he kept with the gorsuch appointment there were a lot of conservative friends who couldnt stand him in more than i could but voted for him because of the Supreme Court. Your friend mark lamonte hill was listening to steve bannon and said its scary, how did you hear it . Im not surprised he said it was scary, you listen to what steve said, two things they want to make it very clear theres not some rift within the white house. You see those two individuals on the stage, theres been a lot of press about them fighting in the white house and not getting long and theyre showing that up front and the second thing is they are showing they are having a good time with what theyre trying to accomplish. I think a lot of people are trying to act like its chaos. You look at those two guys on stage that was not chaos, and i think they humanized the Trump White House which i think was a very smart decision to do that. And talk about their accomplishments, and no one should be shocked by what steve bannon said on stage there with regard to which part . Im saying in general with all theyre doing right now because theyre doing exactly what they said they were going to do in the campaign and you could even see them laughing early on saying this should not be a surprise, we have done what we said we were going to do fighting on the borer issues. We have other issues we are Standing Firm on and nobody should be surprised by that so i think it was a very smart move to do it this way have both men on stage together showing theres a united front, they genuinely like each other and get along. I dont think people are surprised as much as they are scared. There was some on the left hopeful that some of the language used in the campaign was to appeal to the cheap seats but he would govern more like a traditional republican, they just wanted him to be an ordinary republican and what theyre seeing is much of the same language and much of the same practice of running for the presidency as he has running the country and thats what is scarey for some folks. Steve bannon has the vision and calls this a nation with a culture and a reason for being, thats a singular culture. Thats a whistle. And he called it a center core. Thats steve bannon, you have this power center in the white house, steve bannon, Jared Kushner and Reince Priebus making the the nucleus. And then you have a cabinet and you have Rex Tillerson trying to deal with mexico, you have Rex Tillerson being left out of important diplomatic conversations that were held in white house, Jared Kushner having them. So you have two sort of centers of power here whether its on Foreign Policy where was wilbur ross today at the ceo meeting . Jared kushner was there, where fs the commerce secretary . I think what youre seeing is a white house power center and everybody else. Right. And well have to see how that plays out because theres going to be a struggle and its going to be a struggle for Donald Trumps ear and for his mind. But who has his ear most . I know who doesnt. Those guys on stage go ahead anne. What came across from the reports in the last couple of days is that a Jeff Sessions for example is growing increasingly stronger within his administration. Hes got his former staffer steve miller making policy and sitting there with bannon and Reince Priebus and we saw that people like betsy devos are losing their battles on ideological policy decisions. I think youre going to see that more an more and its a very dangerous precedent set. I frankly i would say to betsy devos after all the hell you went through to get yourself confirmed, stand up and use your voice, be you. I think to some point trump may have resented medias reaction to that. My concern is the Rex Tillerson issue, if youre donald trump and saying im going to pick the best people whether its the private sector or public sector, and then you have a radical shift one versus twostate solutions with regard to palestine and Rex Tillerson isnt even in on this, once you pick him he should be informed in policy, betsy devos should be involved in policy. Thats not going to work though mark, when you have folks like general mattis, general kelly, the knew National Security adviser, theres some people you dont push around, i dont think thats for sure. But they are furious. Ive been doing some reporting on this. This does not sit well with the secretary of state. What ive been told is these guys ought to figure out how to spend more time with the president and how he makes decisions because you want to be the one whispering in his ear. Why arent they . Because they have jobs today, mexico today, mattis is overseas so its difficult to get in the room with the president its not so difficult for steve bannon or Jared Kushner. Congress, right . Congress are the people who have to enact this massive push in terms of getting the wall built, repealing and replacing obamacare, i think we do have a vision from bannon today this idea of economic nationalism but theres no sort of blueprint for an agenda to get what they want to do through congress and i think congress very hope. Republicans on the hill are very hopeful that folks in the cabinet would be the adults in the room but to see them sidelined in some ways i think sends a signal to congress. They in fact in some ways feel they have been sidelined too and go out to their dristricts and theyre the ones facing these very vocal opponents are they doing their job around obamacare and whats their plan . And so i think we saw a good moment in terms of p. R. And kumbaya and but moving forward theres still a lot of Unanswered Questions and uneasiness among republicans. Im glad you brought up the town halls i didnt hear anything substantive on town halls. Because the entire purpose of this because everything is peaches and cream everything is a bed of roses and thats what friends are for and dont worry everything youre seeing in the media is all fabricated. Ben ferguson its your turn. I keep hearing that you want to jump in and im hearing no ben ferguson. Try it again. I was going to say we are 30 days into this i just have to say speaking to the white house, and recently spoken to donald trump the perception being put out there is not the reality. This white house, yes, may operate differently than other white house staff. It is not chaotic. Thats the first thing, there are people trying to make things bigger than they are. What you just saw on stage is very accurate to how this white house is working behind the scenes, and i dont think that this is anything close to how people are saying that it is or trying to imply theyre having a hard time getting things done or communication issues. Now saw those two men on tv when most sources are saying there was a rift between them, what you saw was two individuals working not just together, theyre working well together. They may not do things the way people expect them to do it at the white house, they may not do it the way other white house have done it but this idea theres a power struggle or people are begging and pleading for time with the president is just not accurate. The people i know have had no time talking with president and talk about policy with him especially those in cabinet positions, thats just nat accurate to whats going on behind the scenes. But theres questions on whats happening outside the white house in america. There are protests going on practically every day of the week right now, town halls getting very rowdy, i think republicans are running a great risk denying whats happening telling themselves these are paid protesters. Theyre not i go to the super market, gas station, people stop me and say when is marco rubio going to have a town hall when is congressman such and such going to have a town hall, these are real constituents arising. People have awoken and we cant keep shutting our eyes to it. Were talking to one of the women who stood up and asked a question to tom cotton. The white house we are just hearing just into us defending the labelling as quote unquote military operations, i want to play the president s comments from a roundtable with the ceos this morning. Whats happening at the border all a sudden for the first time were getting gang members out, drug lords out, really bad dudes out of this country. And at a rate nobody has ever seen before and theyre the bad ones. And its a military operation because what has been allowed to come into our country when you see Gang Violence that you have read about like never before, much of that is people that are here illegally an theyre rough an tough but not tough like our people, so were getting them out. The white house says yep, thats exactly what the president meant simply its an adjective, but a lot of people are saying not so fast. Barbara starr, there are specific laws that actually classify military operations, do deportations fit that bill . Reporter well, not in this circumstance by any stretch. The president , you know, he may have been being conversational in some sense the white house spokesperson saying he was describing the ordererly process under way right now in his view for the removal of Illegal Immigrants in the country but not a military operation not by any stretch an those are words that make military commanders squee squeamish, this is up to local Police Departments the fbi, everything but the u. S. Military unless theres a massive declared crisis, so let me just say give everybody a little lesson in law and im no lawyer, but theres something called title 10 in federal law, its for a very specific reason and title 10 basically sets out the standards, the laws the regulations the way in which the u. S. Military conducts operations and largely conducts operations overseas so again, the spokesman for the white house says the president was just describing the ordererly process going on but the president did use the word military operation, and it is not by any stretch a military operation. In fact a short time ago the secretary of Homeland Security john kelly a former marine general himself said that u. S. Military forces would not be used in immigration operations. Okay. Thanyou for the necessary clarification at the pentagon barbara, thank you very much. Get the bad dudes out of the country, get the bad ones, its a military operation, maybe he didnt technically mean it with the men an women in uniform, spicer saying its to define what a crime is use this kind of language. I think in trying to read Donald Trumps mind good luck. Which is not easy, maybe hes referring to the 1015 thousand Border Agents theyre going to have to hire at a cost of millions and millions of dollars to enforce immigration laws. And that is i think maybe, i have no idea, what he was talking about. Again, theyre not the military. They would be border enforcement people. Sure. So theyre not, to barbara starrs point, not military lets be real, we have a president and commander in chief who really doesnt have much experience or knows how the government works. I think that when john kelly, retired general john kelly says there will be no military involvement, you have go to a john mccain chair of Armed Services committee, good luck to get the militarisation through john mccain. I think youre going to have some roadblocks. There are obviously people that are going to try to fight him on everything he does. And he has a mandate and part of his plan and hes going to figure out a way to do it even a great example how he was struck down by the courts on this first thing, hes willing as a deal maker to go back an redo the deal, standing here at cpac, the people who elected him dont think its not going well, they dont think hes going to hit a roadblock and disappear. Donald trump is a fighter and theres a lot of rhino republicans that care about defeating him. I dont think hes going to be defeated easily an he says hes going to deliver on these things and he will continue to do it and the people who lelected him is who he is fighting hard for right now. Everybody keeps implying hes not going to get it done, the same people who said he wasnt going to win the election, the same exact people who said they were going to vote for Hillary Clinton, hes the ppt resident the United States of america and he has an agenda and is going to get it done. A lot will get done and much wont get done and its because of the people of this country, when you say youre going to have military operations its just not true, just not accurate but the white house doubles down with it and he says something wild theyre saying hes being hyperbolic, thats danger not because of the technical specifics of whether its legal or not although its important but because it reflects an attitude how you treat the immigration problem, if you treat people as vienolent offenders but when you frame them as the bunch will it speeds up the fear i. Hold on. Hold on. Go ahead ben. You look at those affected in the recent days and weeks, the majority are people who actually had criminal records. If you talk to people in law enforcement. Correct. My father is in law enforcement. They have a list of people that have broken laws and thats the to want prior to. What laws . Law firm has made it very clear that theyre going to go after people who have committed crimes and thats their top priority and some of it is flat out fear mongering, if youre in this country illegally and break our laws and you are criminal in this country that is their prior to right now. The devil is in the details here how do you describe crime . Nobody is going to advocate that a rapist a murderer stay in this country. I hope they get fully punished and then we get rid of them. But is running a red light a crime . Is dui a crime. I would say dui is a crime. Is selling a little pot when you were a teenager . H right now, ben, i can tell you theres a lot of parents, a lot of hardworking people that are not criminals that have gotten picked up. Mixed families maybe one who is undocumented one who is a u. S. Citizen. There are going to be u. S. Citizen children left fatherless or motherless in this country. Hold on, hold on. Theyre getting picked up who are not hardened criminals. There has to be some responsibility for your actions. When you choose to put your family in harms way and your children harms way by breaking the laws of any country in the world you are not a victim, you chose to put yourself in that situation. The second thing that scares me a moment ago when you basically acted how if someone who gets a dui is not a major offender, i was hit by a drunk driver and thankfully my family wasnt hurt and he died. Thats a major crime, you deserve to be kicked out. So but we dont know the definition of crime yet under the new executive order. Thats the points. Thats the point. Listen, if the act of crossing the border illegally or staying here is illegally is defined as a crime then 11 Million People are going to be defined as criminals without a Legal Recourse and good luck trying to run this nation with a gaping hole of 11 Million People who have been working and contributing and making this a better country. And i would say good luck running a country with open bored wer borders and cant keep track of the 11 million here undocumented. When Hillary Clinton run and said it was its not unpopular. Actually less people 3 million less people and no, they were not undocumented. If you read the executive order the question people are raising is this mass deportation but just undercover . Will it eventually become a mass deportation . If coming in illegal lly is the crime then everybody who came in illegally is a criminal, to annas point. Who has the discretion to define what is a crime . The white house on a case by case basis in by Border Agents . Does it vary state to state . We dont know the answers to those so you can understand people who are here an have families are worried because they dont even know. No, i talked to a dreamer, she said i feel like my mother is a criminal in texas even though despite the fact they dont want to Deport Police officers also worried about being caught up in this and are they going to be seen if you are an undocumented immigrant are they going to be seen as an enemy now, if youre a Police Officer you need the cooperation of everybody in any community in terms of reporting crimes, beingne witnesses, and they have concerns too being caught up in the idea theres a military force to use President Trumps words. And i do think, again, i think were going to see the reverberations of this today we had mexican leaders lecture the United States about human rights, which is not something that happens. Its usually the u. S. Thats lecturing other countries about human rights violations, so this is going to have i think reverberate in many ways not only in these individual communities, but certainly in terms of our relationship with mexico as well. Let me ask all of you to stand by. Hang on ive got to sneak a quick commercial break in. Also waiting to hear from sean spicer, might he react, he might be questioned on what just what happened at cpac between Reince Priebus and steve bannon . Back in a flash. Some sound in from the president. Lets roll it. Thank you everybody. Very nice. Nice to see you. Well, i want to thank dina, ivanka and everybody for working so hard to set this up. Its been so important to them and i want to make it clear today that my administration will focus on ending the absolutely horrific traffic of Human Trafficking. And i am prepared to bring the full force and weight of our government to the federal and at the federal level and the other highest levels, whatever we can do, in order to solve this horrific problem, getting worse and its happening in the United States. In addition to the rest of the world, with ybut its happeninge United States, which is terrible. Human trafficking is a dire problem both domestically and internationally and one thats made really a challenge and made possible to a large extent more of a modern phenomena by whats taking place on the internet, as you probably know. Solving the Human Trafficking epidemic which is what it is, is a prior to for my administration. Were going to help out a lot. Solve is a wonderful word, beautiful word but will help a lot. I will direct the department of justice, Homeland Security and other agencies that have a role in Human Trafficking to take a hard look at their personnel theyre devoting to this fight, were going to be fighting more. Dedicated men and women across the federal government have focused for this for some time as you know, a lot of you have been dealing with the federal government and its been much more focused over the last four weeks, i can tell you that. I cannot tell you how much getting everybody together was terrific, glad to have you here, you start with a tremendous amount of energy, blood, sweat and tears, government can be helpful but without now, nothing would happen, so again i want to thank everybody in this room. Its a very, very terrible problem, its not talked about enough. People dont know enough about it and were going to talk about it, bring it out to the open and hopefully do a great deal to deal with some of the horrific crimes taking place, people dont realize that its happening in this country, but all over the world, so thank you very much for being here. Thank you. The president condemning Human Trafficking, a number of ceos, also the two roundtables note, his daughter ivanka was seated at the roundtable. But on massive deportation, from john kelly saying after being in mexico and meeting with his counterpart down in mexico, quoting him let me be very, very clear there will be no, repeat no mass deportations and adding after he heard President Trump saying it was a military operation with regard to immigration, which by the way its not a military operation at all, technically speaking, kellie said this, no repeat, no use of military force in immigration operations, none, yes, well approach this operation systemically in a organized way, operational way and Human Dignity way, but gloria, you made the point earlier when talking about cpac, is the left hand talk to go the right hand . Yeah, sometimes i think what happens with donald trump is that he talks and misspeaks and he misspoke and you dont want to say well the president misspoke. The white house says the president did not misspeak. Does he never miss anything. Maybe he means the people they need the hire, the thousands and thousands of Border Patrol officers and additional law enforcement, et cetera, but thats not military, so you heard it from general kelly. I think you can take his word for it since hes going to be running the operation. And i think the president simply misspoke. I know john kelly quite well, he was stationed in miami, the head of southern command. He knows what the affect would be, the global effect, we dont just do things in a vacuum, in latin america, neighbors to the south of mass deportation, to the economy, to Gang Violence, it would compound the problem, make it a bigger tea kettle just boiling away down there and he understands that. If anybody brings that unique perspective, it is john kelly who has been working with governments down there, with the military down there, conducting joint operations for years. I think that unique experience he brings is going to be invaluable in this new job. Ben what do you think . Sorry, sorry, forgive me, sean spicer and the white house. Ready, john . Whenever youre ready, well kick you off. Actually i was thinking about not doing a briefing and i saw Reince Priebus and steve bannon talk and i figured they were infringing on my record.
