Nomination before the convention in cleveland in july. As donald trump fights to sweep new york, he is also struggling to earn the allegiance of delegates in states hes already won. After a series of votes by Party Insiders in georgia it appears most of the delegates picked to go to the Convention Support ted cruz. Now, yes, while they are bound to mr. Trump in that first round of votes at the convention, personal loyalty could spell big trouble for the frontrunner if the fom natinomination goes to two, second ballot. Lets did to sarah murray. Talk to me about what happened there behind closed doors. Reporter well, brooke, i think thats theres sort of an appeal that donald trump appeals to angry white voters and the coalition trying to prove that trump appeal is beyond that. They had a photo opportunity and the goal to try to inform donald trump of the issues propping up in the various communities, africanamerican community, Muslim Community but also to see how they can help the campaign in some of these states and build up a grassroots operation, the kind of thing that ted cruz has done and helped him in the delegate fights but, of course, we can never expect to hear from donald trump and not hear him brag about the polls sounding confident going into the New York Primary tomorrow. Take a listen to what he had to say. I dont want to believe the polls. If the polls are what they are, they were beyond anything that anybodys seen, real lly. But, you know, we love the city. You welcome at the other folks running. They couldnt care less about new york. We do care about new york. We care about new york a lot. We care about new york values. Reporter now, brooke, like you were mentioning, donald trump the campaign are not as good at the behind the scenes delegate wrangling as ted cruz and making new york all the more important to win and sweep this state, that is 95 delegates and the Trump Campaign wants every single one. Yes, they do. Sara murray, thank you very much. As we mentioned, state of georgia is a state where trump is struggling to keep the delegates loyal after winning last months primary. Most of the 42 delegates just elected by georgia republicans say they would support ted cruz if there is a contested Republican Convention. Take a look at this. Got a little heated at one g Ga Convention site. The Trump Supporters bolted with the American Flag after three cruz loyalists were elected. It is also where our next tea Party Organizer and protrump activist defeated in the bid to become one of the delegates and joins me now. Nice to have you on. Nice to be on your show today. How are you doing . Im wonderful. But its more about you than me today. Yes. Let me just ask you. Prior to this weekend and even really for the past year, what have you seen or heard that the cruz camp has done to try to court the delegates . Theyre trying to reach out and aggressively game the system that georgia uses to elect the delegates. Senator cruz has actively seeking to overturn the results of the election that took place on march 1st where mr. Trump took 40 of the vote. He earned 42 delegates. Ted cruz earned 18 and rubio earned 16. And they are gaming the system. Mr. Trump can you be specific with me . When you say gaming the system and being aggressive, what do you mean exactly . Delegate process began in february for the mass precinct meetings, and many of the cruz supporters are insiders within the Republican Party. Theyve been to the system for years. And so, they know the rules. They know how to show up. And they have an advantage. The process began in february. The Trump Campaign was late to the ball game and i assumed it because they never inheir wildest dreams believed that a candidate like mr. Cruz that claims to be a constitutional conservative is actively and effectively trying to diminish one of the rights given in the constitution which is a right to vote. Hang on a second because if you look at it from a different perspective, one could say, hey, good on ted cruz and his organizers for being on it from the get and what about mr. Trump . Not as organized in georgia as senator cruz was . Not as organized in georgia early as senator cruz is, but we have always respected the voters, the voters spoke very loudly on march the 1st. We have always respected and had faith in the voters. And they are working to overturn the results and disenfranchise the 502,000 georgians that went to the polls on march the 1st and voted for trump. I hear you. But can you blame ted cruz for understanding how the system works and, you know, these prize delegates and getting in there early . Well, i can blame ted cruz for not respecting the will of voters and trying to overturn and diminish the vote that took place on march 1st. Hes using strongarm tactics. They were cruz supporters were extremely, extremely rude to Trump Supporters at district conventions across georgia. Hes not hes using working with insiders within the Republican Party in georgia and gaming the delegate process instead of respecting voters. Well, lets look ahead to june. Georgia elects the rest of the delegates going on to the convention in july in cleveland. What do you think the Donald Trump Campaign could do, should do . Debbie, you are there on the ground. You see what works and what doesnt. What would your advice be . My advice to mr. Trump to lets get in this actively work the delegates. Lets get our people to show up at the convention and lets put pressure on to ask georgia republicans to respect and not turn their back on the 502,000 georgians 2that voted for mr. Trump and ask voters to contract the elected officials, to contact the Republican Party and ask them to take a stand and stand up for voters, not the party elite. Hmm. Debbie dooley, my home state of georgia, thank you so much. Its a pleasure. Thank you. Close contact and see what happens in june. Thank you so much. Thank you. What happened in georgia is likely to embolden trump as he rails against the delegates system. He called it corrupt, rigged, especially after ted cruz won 14 more delegates over the weekend in wyoming just the same way of colorado. Not a popular vote but in a state party convention. Its a corrupt and crooked system. Where youre allowed to take delegates look. Nobody has better toys than i do. Put them in the best planes an bring them to the best ro sorts in the world. Doral. California. I have something that blows everything away. But its a corrupt system. Youre basically buying these people. Molly ball, let me bring you in. Staff writer for the atlantic. Im sure you listened to the conversation of debbie dooley. Wants the Trump Delegates in his pocket come july. Frustrated in georgia thats not happened. What do you think . What are the dynamics on the ground there in georgia . Well, look. I think the kind of pressure that debbie was talking about and trump talking about bringing the bear on the Party Organizations has a very good chance of being effective because what is happening here is a lot of people as trump loves the point out brought into the process not a democratic process and now finding out to their chagrin that the way it works, a lot of these elections that people are participating in in droves are nothing more than a straw poll and dont determine who goes to the convention or who the delegates are and who they vote for. And so, you know, the parties in a way brought it on themselves introducing primaries and opened them up to seem democratic in the 60s and 70s created an expectation that the votes matter but the fact is thats not what matters. What matters is technical contests. It is not ted cruzs fault he understands the process and is milking it for all its worth but trump has a point that its not democratic. So interesting to have this conversation because in years past there was essentially the presumed nominee and now second ballots unbound and creates a different scenario. Donald trump wants this, molly. He told the Washington Post for control over the Republican National conventions program, part of the quote of mr. Trump, important to put showbiz in a convention or people fall asleep. We dont have the people who know how to put showbiz into a convention. Now, my question to you is, i guess hes thinking as the frontrunner here that he has a right to, you know, dictate that it would be fun and watchable and interesting from an i guess a tv per pro deucer perspective. Does he have the right to do that . Well, no. If he were the presumptive nominee he would. Youre absolutely right in past year years. Youre absolutely right. The rnc is an in a very difficult position of having to essentially orchestrate the convention by themselves without a presumptive nominee and could continue up to the convention and then having all this pressure put on them from the candidates that are still in contention and from everyone else interested in how it turns out and really between a rock and a hard place but its very tough for trump to assert that he doesnt have any right according to the rules if hes not the presumptive nominee. I dont know what hes talking about it being boring four years ago. Remember Clint Eastwood . I was there, i was there. Id be curious to see how mr. Trump defines showbiz in cleveland. Let me move on, though, because we also know that trump told, you know, the post winning the 1,237 delegates to clinch he is not quite sure to keep the chair of the rnc, you know, at the helm of reince priebus. How do you take that . Is that a threat . What are you reading into that . Yeah. Its absolutely a threat. Poor reince priebus. Trump is threatening him and torturing him for nine months now, right . From the beginning of this tough j. B. Hes been saying yeah. Nice party youve got there. Shame if anything were to happen to it right from the beginning of the process saying if im not treated fairly ill go outside and make trouble. This is the same long pattern making sure things go his way pointing out the trouble to pmae if they dont. They have had a testy relationship and always communicated and continued to talk. So, you know, i think he is laying down a marker here for if the Party Chairman were to find himself in opposition to trump, pointing out that he might have the right to do something about that. Molly ball, from the atlantic, thank you so much. Thank you. So much at stake on both sides. Democrats and republicans tomorrow. The big crucial New York Primary contest takes place. Some 100 Bernie Sanders supporters showering Hillary Clintons motorcade in 1,001 dollar bills. Joining me now gentlemen, great to see both of you. Good. We wanted to talk to you, prosecutor. Because of what you wrote. This oped saying the Democratic Party to be aware of Bernie Sanders supporters and groups like moveon writing, quote, theyre at war with certain core liberal values, particularly as regards to free speech. Explain. First of all, i love the protest. Throwing dollar bills. Like that in. Of course. Anything thats peaceful. What do like are those elements within the organizations, not the organizations themselves, i support black lives matter. Yeah. But there are some within each of these hard left organizations that want to stop other people from speaking. They interrupt donald trump. I dont necessarily like what donald trump has to say but he has a right to say it. They interrupt bill clinton. Theyve interrupted speakers on University Campuses and i want Bernie Sanders to disassociate himself with those elements within his supporters who want to shut other people down. Do you think Bernie Sanders should do that . Oh no. I think the party should be aware. I dont know about beware but beaware. This is the voice people need to hear right now and a reason that sanders caught on fire. Because this voice was missing. Generally people begin to oppose, protest at the time. But then revel in the benefit of the protest after. And so, most of the changes that we have seen, they havent come quietly. They had interruptions and disruptions for peoples voice to be heard. Can we agree that protests are fine but stopping other people from expressing different views is not consistent with Democratic Party values. Even if you dont agree. Even if you think theyre terrible views. Do you think i think you have a right to try to stop them from expressing a hateful view. Saying you have a freedom to do one and the other we disagree. I dont think you have a right to stop them. You can answer them. This is the basis of civil disobedience. To disrupt. In exchange, you may get arrested. Thats the price you may have to pay. I think thats the cost of what our history has shown us, works in this country. Thats an interesting point. I think civil disobedience has a role, for example, sitting in on lunch counters and no role in trying to shut other people down. You have to stop other people from expressing themselves. Trump or cruz on the republican side who all theyre doing is spewing hate and people who have been thats not fair. Thats not all theyre doing. Thats what i think. Answer them. Answer them. Come on tv. Dont shut them down. We want to make sure that the voice is heard as loudly as possible. You cant have your voice heard at their event. You have an event. At their event, you should be allowed to boo or throw dollars. But not prevent them from speaking. I just want the Democratic Party to support everybodys right to speak and i want to hear Bernie Sanders say i dont support people who disrupt and stop others from speaking. I support everyones right to speak. I actually prefer engaging with people that i disagree with and support peoples right to disrupt and interpret. How about people that disrupt you and try to stop you from expressing sure. I take the time to talk i usually engage with them. If they have to be removed, that happens. Thats a price you pay to get the protest in. I understand both sides of that. Okay. Look, i understand. I think the Democratic Party and Bernie Sanders ought to come out clearly in favor of everybodys right to speak and everybody elses right to respond. And protest. We would be better at embracing this fire thats caught on in the Democratic Party because my hope and belief is it is not going to go away and a reason he caught fire at this moment in time in history. Well see if the fire spreads or tomorrow an extinguisher in the form of new york voters come out. I dont know a fire extinguisher. I understand where she is at this point in time and i understand they definitely would have liked to have a wider lead than they are now and the fact they dont have it is because of youre making my job easy. This is a fascinating conversation. The folks many of them truly feeling the burn and Hillary Clinton if she clinches that nomination she needs them and i mean, it was interesting listening, sitting in today on new day today and asking about have you thought about that moment and try to tell the folks that forcefully support you yeah. And i dont really know if i heard an interesting. Interesting thing is Bernie Sanders will be much more influential losing the nomination than wins it. Losing the nomination hell win two states like Michael Dukakis and the policy will be thrown in the garbage pail. If he loses the nomination and its close he will have influence tremendous influence and he was saying that Hillary Clinton will have to speak to those people. He was sort of saying at least i feel like shes moved further left with the presence in the race. 100 accurate. Thats a factual thing. Things going on now to have not happened if Bernie Sanders wasnt in the race. I think the thing may both agree on is whomever wins, we have to come behind fully and 100 . Better than any of the candidates on the republican side. I agree. If Bernie Sanders wins and loses the election the way mcgovern and dukakis lost, it weakens the Democratic Party for years to come. We are not there yet. Thank you both so much. Thank you. Thank you. Good conversation. Thank you so, so much. Coming up, they say theyre not looking for a fight but they wouldnt back down from one either. Well talk with a founder of bikers for trump. One group is doing all it can to stop that from happening. They call themselves bikers for trump. Perhaps to some they look intimidating but all they say they want to do is make America Great again through peaceful protest. The bikers crisscrossing the United States serving as unofficial security outside of the different trump rallies. But they say their new priority is this. Swarm the Republican National convention in cleveland to stop Party Leaders from denying trump the nomination. Joining me now, chris cox, founder of the group in buffalo, new york, where a trump rally is planned hours from now. Chris, thank you for joining me. Thank you, brooke. Im pleased to be here. All right. Tell me why do you want to be at the convention in cleveland . Well, first of all, we are going to keep our eyes focused on these primary states. Getting to cleveland we anticipate a victory dance. We are not anticipating being there for any other reason than to raise our hands and do some high fiving. Right now, we are concentrating on new york. And once were done with new york bikers for trump moving into pennsylvania where we will have two to three rallies there. From there moving into West Virginia and then on to california. I have to ask. How did bikers for trump become a thing in the first place . Well, i started taking the political temperature back in august. I talked to several bikers in the southeast. Several different venues. And the bikers were definitely on board. Id walk into a venue and id have a handful of bumper stickers, would be a feeding frenzy. After speaking with bikers, i identified that the bikers were on trumps team for three major reasons. The first reason is radical islam. Whos going to fight isis . And we believe Donald Trumps the man for that job. The second reason is illegal immigration. Because bikers want to see a wall built, because bikers want to see a Syrian Refugees vetted, doesnt make us racist. It makes us patriots. And the third reason would be getting behind the american veteran. Last night 40,000 veterans slept homeless on the streets of america and we find that unacceptable that were thinking about bringing in all of these Syrian Refugees when we havent even fort fitted the heroes in the boundaries and like to see them treated much better and we think donald trump is the man for that job. Tell me what you say to people who worry that your presence especially at the convention, a large presence of the bikers, will simply be an intimidation tool to others including potential delegates. Oh, i disagree with that. If you know anything about the biker, theyre citizen crusaders from all walks of life. Theyre having a poker run to put a roof on the house of a veteran or organizing a toy run to see that a child has a great christmas. We have no we have a very strict code of conduct. We do not condone violence. And we will stand strong and we will protect the people that are there to support donald trump if it comes to that. But were confident that the police have learned from past mistakes, for instance, in chicago and arizona and they have fort fitted the boundaries a little closer now and so we continue to have a presence at these rallies but were not looking for trouble. Chris, i understand. But we also have mr. Trump recently saying if he doesnt get the partys nomination, the rncs in for a rough july. Here he was. Youre going to have a very, very upset and angry group of people at the convention. Now, i hope that doesnt happen because if i win people are going to be very happy. I hope it doesnt involve violence. I hope it doesnt. And im not suggesting that. I hope it doesnt involve violence. And i dont think it will. But i will say this. Its a rigged system. Its a crooked system. Its 100 crooked. So mr. Trump says he doesnt want violence. Youre telling me you all are a not a violent group. What if he doesnt get the nomination . How are you prepared to act then . Well, you certainly wont see biker looting any pharmacies or Setting Police cars on fire and expressing themselves in civil disobedience. Bikers are patriotic and they will be there to serve a purpose, whatever that purpose is, is yet to be seen. But weve definitely will have a presence here. Well not an intimidating factor. We have a Patriotic Group of men and women very loyal and we vote and we are going to stick with donald trump here through the end. We like to think of ourselves as, you know, we are the citizen crusaders and make sure that we keep as much peace as possible but as far as us being out there screaming and shouting and raising cane, i really dont predict that. Okay. Chris cox, founders of bikers for trump, thank you, sir, for the time. Well see you in cleveland. Thank you, brooke. Thank you. Coming up next, breaking news out of the jerusalem, a bus exploding with passengers on board. Authorities now saying it was a bomb. Well take you there live. What about my wife. What were building together. And could this happen again . I was given warfarin in the hospital, but wondered, was this the best treatment for me . I spoke to my doctor and she told me about eliquis. Eliquis treats dvt and pe blood clots and reduces the risk of them happening again. Not only does eliquis treat dvt and pe blood clots. But eliquis also had significantly less major bleeding than the standard treatment. Knowing eliquis had both. Turned around my thinking. Dont stop eliquis unless you doctor tells you to. Eliquis can cause serious, and in rare cases, fatal bleeding. Dont take eliquis if you have an artificial heart valve or abnormal bleeding. If you had a spinal injection while on eliquis call your doctor right away if you have tingling, numbness, or muscle weakness. While taking eliquis, you may bruise more easily. And it may take longer than usual for bleeding to stop. Seek immediate medical care for sudden signs of bleeding, like unusual bruising. Eliquis may increase your bleeding risk if you take certain medicines. Tell your doctor about all planned medical or dental procedures. Eliquis treats dvt pe blood clots. At least 21 people were hurt when an explosion ignited this bus in jerusalem. A Police Commander says there is no doubt this was some sort of attack. Cnn correspondent Orrin Lieberman is live for us in jerusalem. Attack . What are you hearing . Can we be more specific . Reporter theyre careful with the terminology. They said it could be criminal or a terrorist attack. Police being deliberate, methodical here. Police say there was an explosive device causing a fire that consumed two buses and a car that was parked nearby. It was in those buses that police say 21 people injured at least. We have seen the number rise in the course of the evening here since the explosion and police say at least two of those are seriously wounded so police it took them hours to say but police now saying definitely this was an attack, an explosive device and leaves a lot of questions what type of device, how did it get there and who put it there . As soon as you learn more, well talk more. Thank you so much in jerusalem this evening. Back here in the states, torrential rains have virtually shut down americas fourth largest city. Look at this. If you do not have to leave your homes, im certainly emphasizing and encouraging you not to leave your homes today. This is not the day to be on the roads in the city of houston. Instructions there. Crystal clear of the mayor of houston, texas, driving treacherous if not impossible and 400 water rescues since the storm began overnight in the city. Look at that. The man you saw in the clip barely made it out of the car and needed help of a local news crew who happened to be reporting live nearby. Heres the whole moment as it unfolded. Dude, you got to get out of the car. You got to get out. What can i do . Swim. What . Swim. Swim. I dont know what to do. Leave the car. Swim. Stay in the car . Leave the car . Swim. Come here, sir. Sir. Come here. Thank you. Yeah. Sore here. I didnt see it. Yes. Hey. We can hear you. Are you okay, sir . Im okay. Youre okay. Im okay. You watch your step, sir. Watch your step. Did you just not think the water was deep . Yeah. My car is under. You have to leave the car. Im just glad youre okay. I am, too. How about that. Remarkably no deaths or injuries blamed on the storm. More than 1,000 homes flooded. Lets get an update on the storm over houston. Meteorologist Jennifer Gray is in the cnn weather center. I couldnt believe that. I saw it this morning. I thought at least the news crew nearby. Rare time to truly help someone. I know. I know. The pictures are chilling. The problem now is a lot of the waterways or roadways washed out completely and the emergency crews cant get to the people who need help. News crews are helping out. Truckers helping other truckers. We have had an incredible amount of rain and part of the country thats already totally saturated and so thats why were seeing the floodwaters. Look at this. Just in the past day or two, almost 15 inches of rain just west of houston. We had this line of should recalls and storms push through the downtown area and head to the south. We were seeing rainfall rates at about 3 inches per hour from midnight on through the wee hours of the morning and theres no place for this water to go. Thats where you get the flash flooding. It looks like the heaviest rain pushed to the south of the city. However, we could start to see some of this filling back in as we get into the Late Afternoon hours. So the flood threat and by no means over. Well continue to see this develop throughout the afternoon. We still have flash flood warnings in place west of the city and flood warnings in place. And look at this. This is where the problem comes in. You have the creeks and rivers that are filling up to capacity. We are almost at record flood stage here at sigh press creek and its going to rise another four or five feet and where the water is now you have to keep in mind all the water coming in off the streets, downtown houston and everywhere else around the city have to make the way back into the gulf of mexico and so youre going to see the rivers rise even more even once the rain stops. And so, thats going to be the problem as we go through the next 24 hours or so. Continuing to see these rivers, these creeks continue to rise. So the future radar paints a better picture. We are going to continue to see some showers and storms in the area and it should start to taper off, brooke, going through the next 12 to 24 hours. But a mess and its going to continue to be bad for the next day or so. I feel like even with texas, jennifer, severe droughts or, you know, torrential downpours such as today. Jennifer gray, thank you so much. Coming up next, family members of the victims of 9 11 pushing for the bipartisan bill in congress that would allow victim to sue foreign governments for terrorist acts. Saudi arabia is warning there would be billions of dollars in economic fallout if that were to happen. Well talk to the relative of a man that lost his life on 9 11 2011. What she thinks about this coming up. As president obama prepares to travel to saudi arabia, this week, tensions between the oilrich kingdom and the u. S. Rising. Saudi arabia is threatening to sell off billions of dollars in American Assets if Congress Passes this bipartisan bill to allow the victims of 9 11 and other terror attacks to sue foreign governments. This case centers upon the 28 pages, this congressional inquiry, into the 9 11 attacks. They remain classified all 28 pages and said to focus on the role of oversees governments in the plot. Saudi arabia has long deed any involvement and never been implicated in 9 11 but for the family members of those victims this is about getting to the truth of what is in the pages and whos behind the deadly attacks and really ultimately i think going to court. With me, terry strada, her husband tom was in the World Trade Center and killed on 9 11 and now cochair of the 9 11 families united against terror. Thank you for being with me. I know youre fired up on this. For people that dont know toms story, you talked to him that tuesday morning. Yes. On the phone. I did. Tell me a little bit more about your husband. Tom was a great person, a great father, a great son. He was fully energy, full of life. He brought all of the happiness and fun to our family and greatly missed by everybody this knew him and loved him. With regard now to whats at hand, i know that, you know, secretary of state said that this would lead to a terrible precedent of potentially then flipping it around and having others sue us, sue the United States. You say hes misleading people. From what i understand through this you want to you cant bring your case to court as it stands now. Is that correct . Right. Thats correct. Explain what you want. Our case is standing in court. We have had the saudis in the court not in the courts. Suing them for past 12 years and we have been up and down the Appellate Court and Supreme Court three times. And what happens is they get dismissed on sovereign immune. We have to, you know appeal and put them back in the case and just been going on and on for 12 years. You want your case heard. Yes. Evidence throughout . Exactly, yes. Thats what we want and what this does and just allows our case to be heard in the courtroom. I understand. I think a colleague of mine says that youve said you feel like its a middle of a can homeland episode. Right. Tell me why. It feels surreal at times and it feels very unbelievable that the government doesnt side with us and work with us. That they come out and make the types of claims against jasta. Secretary kerry is misinformed and he is wrong when he says that other states could then turn around and sue us. Were trying to hold anyone accountable collaborated in a terrorist attack against the u. S. On u. S. Soil. So theres no reciprocating going on there. If youre going after, from what i this is explained and read, going after saudi arabia, the government. We know with 9 11, 15 of the 19 hijackers were saudi nationals and perhaps there was a rogue im making this up, a rogue saudi minister and wasnt representative of the government and by the way saudi arabias been a longtime ally as you well know of the United States. Key player in the region and they, too, fighting terrorism. How do you take that into consideration . I would say if theres a rogue person that was doing this, and there was no evidence that led back to the kingdom of saudi arabia, then we would be not having this conversation. So the problem is that theres an abundance of evidence that leads back to the kingdom of saudi arabia and thats how do you know that . The evidence . Because it was an investigation done. And all the time that you follow the money trail it leads back to saudi arabia. So there is definitely an abundance, pages, thousands of pages of ed that we would like to get into a courtroom. Why do you think then that the was it the Bush Administration and then the Obama Administration, have kept those 28 pages classified . You know, its hard for me to speak on their behalf, why president bush did, president obama continues to do it. Keep being saudi arabias Little Secrets about the spread of wahhabism and going to spread light on today with isis and the terrorism threats now experiencing. So they dont want it to all come back to saudi arabia. But we need to get the 28 pages out there before we can ever really fully assess our current threats and how we go forward. So its about protecting saudi arabia. You talk about current threats. I mean, at the end of the day, say it goes through. Investigation, evidence is exposed. You have your day in court. At the end of the day, is this about money . No. Absolutely not. Not money to me, anyway. About taking the money out of the terrorists hands and stopping the flow of money continuing to flow out of the middle east. These organizations cannot operate without money. They cant do the communications. They cant bomb making materials. What about money saudi arabia said they would sell in u. S. Assets . As far as i know and things that i have read, economyists said thats absolutely impossible for them to do. Forbes did an article online saying the same thing. Sell it at a discount and ruining the economy to what . Just not have whats in the 28 pages released . Kind of tells you theyre afraid about whats in there. Terry, lets stay in touch. Okay. Well see what happens with the bill. All right. And especially with the president s visit to the kingdom this week. Thank you. Youre welcome. Thank you. Now when donald trump says he wants a little showbiz at the Republican National convention, how would he do that . Well speak live with a broadway producer about how he would produce the party of the season. A man that confronted whether the candidate would protect him and his gay husband and see what happens. Making a difference. 95 delegates are at stake and frontrunner donald trump needs every single one of those. 1,236789 required to clinch the partys nomination ahead of cleveland in july. But while mr. Trump is pushing hard for the new york vote senator ted cruz is already moved on. Well take you live to maryland to catch up with the Cruz Campaign in a second. Here, first in new york, senior White House Correspondent jim acosta is live in buffalo ahead of the trump rally there and covering serious miles ahead of the primary tomorrow. Lower manhattan at lunch and now buffalo. Tell me about all of that. Reporter thats right, brooke. You know, donald trump has not won a major contest since last month and lost a string of primaries and caucuses to ted cruz. Cruz you have seen him in recent weeks picking away delegates in wyoming and colorado with sort of these strange and hard to understand convention processes under way and frustrated the Trump Campaign and donald trump himself but earlier today he was sort of looking forward to the general election campaign. He was trying to shore up whens really kind of a vulnerability for the Campaign Meeting with the diversity counsel there at trump tower in manhattan and there is omarosa storing in one of his apprentice seasons many, many years ago. She and other minority members of this diversity counsel making the case that donald trump is not hostile to minorities and obviously a message to take into the general election campaign. And donald trump really was sort of talking about the primary thats at stake coming up tomorrow. The New York Primary. Earlier today when he went right back at that line of attack on ted cruz about new york values. Heres what he had to say. I dont want to believe the polls. If they are what they are, theyre beyond anything thats anyones seen, really. We love the city. You look at the other folks that are running. They couldnt care less about new york. Thats right. We care about new york and a lot. We care about new york values. Yes. Reporter now, this is a pretty important moment for the Trump Campaign, brooke. Donald trump with a slew of losses in recent weeks and New York Primary tomorrow, this is the home state. This is really a chance for donald trump to pick up a lot of delegates and really set the table far whats happening next week which is the northeast weighs in places like pennsylvania, connecticut and maryland. Brooke, we have been talking recent weeks about how donald trump is struggling. Has been really frustrated going after the system as a liged system and a sham and he can start winning oldfashioned way. 95 at stake with a chance of doing that, sweeping across the state and picking up the delegates and then next week, pennsylvania, maryland, delaware, connecticut, going a long way towards securing this nomination. The big question as you know, brooke, getting 1,237, that is not answered for many, many weeks. Not yet. Thank you very much. Buffalo, new york. You saw trump as we mentioned in manhattan. Ted cruz not in new york. Our reporter with the senators campaign wrapped there in maryland. Sunland, day before New York Primary, cruz is in maryland do. The math for me. Reporter yes, brooke. He is focused on looking ahead and certainly looking beyond New York Primary but it is very notable as you point out that he is not in new york on the eve of the New York Primary and he is holding no formal Campaign Events in new york. Only opting today for closed door fundraisers and not doing any big Campaign Rallies on the eve of the primary. He is today here in maryland and tomorrow he will be in pennsylvania. These are two states next tuesday, april 26 and certainly trying to look ahead. Certainly a clue as where the Cruz Campaign thinks the chances are coming up in new yorks primary tomorrow. But moments ago, here in maryland, senator cruz addressed the fact that the race is coming to maryland and called this state a battleground. He heres what he had to say. Maryland votes just over a week from now. Maryland is a battleground. Maryland is going to have an outsized voice as the nation is looking to maryland to decide do we nominate donald trump and hand the election to Hillary Clinton . Or do we unite behind the Cruz Campaign and beat Hillary Clinton . Reporter so, absolutely no mention there of the New York Primary thats happening tomorrow. Senator cruz, though, in the final days when he was campaigning in new york, he really done playing expectations saying, you know, donald trump looks strong, looks like he will have a good outcome tomorrow. Certainly down playing expectations for what he anticipates for his campaign and really setting a sky high bar for donald trump. Cruz saying if donald trump doesnt exceed 50 in new york, a devastating loss. Brooke . Sunlen in maryland, thank you so much. Weve just thrown a lot at you. Lets dissect thi now. Joining me now, chief political analyst gloria borgen, katie against donald trump and Senior Pastor daryl scott, ceo of National Diversity coalition for trump and saw him next to mr. Trump a couple of hours ago. Pastor, nice to see you in person. Good to see you, too. Saw you in the picture next to donald trump. You spoke at the diversity event today. Talk to me about whens the mission there and what happened behind closed doors . National Diversity Coalition for trump is representative of a large number of ethnic groups across america. I mean, there are a number offette lick groups that like trump. Muds limbs, sikhs, indians, mexicans, latinos. Supportive as a candidate for president of the United States. Theres this perception disseminated by the media that trump is an xeonphobic my sonlg nisic bigot that hates women, blacks and other ethnic group. That is not the truth and we know it is not the truth. Michael cohen, special counsel now, happened to be my very best friend, we were talking one day and he birthed it, gave birth to the idea out of the spirit saying, quhaunlg . I wish we could get people together in a coalition that would let america know that we dont hate trmp. We support donald trump. We put legs on this. I contacted a few friends. The idea took shape and start started off as a Minority Coalition for trump. I said we cant exclude white people. So we changed it to the Diversity Coalition and i believe me it seems as if god sent people from the north, the south, the east and the west to say we support donald trump and hes allowing us to be his eyes and ears in the respective communities. We have several initiatives that were advancing. Urban revitalization. Jobs. Crime. Education. All these thing that is we are advancing and allowing us a platform and taking them into consideration and build upon them and theyll affect his policy making. Okay. So you just heard what this is all about from the pastor there and speaking just to set it up for everyone. Gloria, let me ask you and pivot to the delegates and we know that donald trump is accusing ted cruz of wining and dining the delegates and seems to be out maneuvering trump with the numbers. My question to you is, is the notion of doing that really new or is it just we havent had to have this conversation because you essentially have a candidate whens locked up the nomination and dont worry about bound and unbound delegates and one and two rounds of votes at a convention . Yeah, look. Theres nothing new about this. What is new as you know this hasnt happened since 1976. Right . Right. And so, i think what donald trump has done when you think about it is hes sort of set up this notion that the system is rigged because, you know, hes not playing the delegate game. I think what donald trump is doing is trying to play the 1,237 game. He wants to get to that number or close to that number an got the National Republican committee playing defense, right . The Republican NationalCommittee Reince Priebus in a back and forth with donald trump over the system being or not being rigged and rnc members fighting each other whether to change the rule or not a change. And you have donald trump in the meantime trying to win as many delegates as he can to get towards 1,237. Cruz doesnt have that opportunity because hes likely particularly after new york and you have all these northeastern states coming up, you know, cruz is only game is really delegate game. Trump has another game to play right now and thats getting to the magic number. To that point, katie, springboarding off of glorias point. Paul manafort is a veteran and hired to be the campaign manager. Why do you think theyre not there yet . Hes been hired, what . Two weeks now . Well, i think part of the problem is last time Paul Manafort engaged on a Convention Floor was 40 years ago when he was 25 years old and hes a much older guy spending a lot of time lobbying for terrorist groups since then. But that said, you know, the truth about this whole delegate game that donald trump is playing is either lying or hes completely disinformed and doesnt understand the process. This isnt a new process. Mmp and our campaign in 2012 very active in making sure that the delegates to the convention were romney delegates and something every campaign does. Campaigns matter and this is something that the Trump Campaign ignored for the last year. And now they find themselves in a race to catch up. And its a real problem for them because it does come down to 1,237. If the system is rigged in any way its sort of rigged to help the person thats the frontrunner. And yet donald trump hasnt been successful at closing this deal even though hes been the frontrunner for several months and if theres anybody who the system is in favor of, its a guy winning 35 of the vote in florida and 100 of the delegates and complaining about, you know, caucuses and conventions no establishment candidate advocating for and the idea that the establishment pushing the rules well over a year is nonsense and its just a lie being pushed by the Trump Campaign. Okay. So, theres this whole conversation that well continue to have. We havent had these conversations in, you know, as gloria points out, 40 or so years. Pastor scott, ultimately well land in cleveland at a convention. My hometown. Thank you very much. Home for the rock n roll hall of fame. Donald trump said he wants showbiz in the convention. What do you think he means by that . A lot of things he says tongue in cheek. It mean there iss probably going to be a lot of drama in the convention in cleveland. If he does not get that 1,237 magic number. And response to what our other guests were saying, you know, these rules for these delegates meant to be default rules, if someone by the fair and legitimate process doesnt arrive at the number, we have a default plan to fall back on. Rules arent made to be manipula manipulated. Trumps not running against he was running against 17 candidates and now an entire party. Katies shaking her head. Jump . She can shake her head all she wants. These are the rules required to become the nominee. You have never you have never seen, katie, one candidate say, dont vote for me. Vote for him so he doesnt win. Thats manipulation. Of course i have see that. Conspiracy. Against a wealthy billionaire manhattan developer . Against trump. They didnt expect him to be here. Let her finish. Now its panic mode. The notion that this guy, one of the wealthiest in the country and owns half of manhattan, a conspiracy against him, theres not a conspiracy. There is. There is a desire of a principle conservative leading the Republican Party and that can win the white house and for all the talk about diversity, im sure that there are africanamerican voters and hispanic voters and muslim and women voters to support trump and ignoring the data saying he has historically high negatives with all of these groups that spell doom and gloom for. Thats a problem a lot of people have with the candidate. But i have my ear to the streets and i talk to the man on the street and that data is misleading. More for trump than the data leads one to believe. And this coalition demonstrates that fact right there. Donald trump is actually do you know that donald trump talks less about race than any other of the candidates do. He talks a lot about bill clinton said something that was very negative to the black community. Hillary clinton and them told a joke about cp time and dismissed. If donald trump told that same joke, you would be calling him to resign. Bill clinton says something in response to black lives matter. He accused the drug dealers and the 90s of turning 13yearold children into crack heads and gave this idea weve talked about that. He apologized. Running the streets. That was not the truth at all. Donald trump does this, its a national outrage. Not a conspiracy. Usually ir spirls are covert. That is open conspiracy. Its wide open and everybodys in on it. Con conspiracy. Tune in all day tomorrow for coverage of the pry may recalls. Well jump into Donald Trumps producer head. What would showbiz in cleveland at the Big Convention look like . Were getting creative today. I have a broadway producer joining me live on what he would do to throw the years Biggest Political Party and a gay man that confronted ted cruz over whether the candidate would protect him and his husband. See what happens and whether he approves of doess response. And i will take you to a place where your teeth rattle on the front lines in the war against isis. See what happens when the u. S. Navy invited me for an exclusive imbed in the gulf. Cant wait to show you coming up. Welcome back. Youre watching cnn. Im brooke baldwin. Ted cruz accused of dodging a question of a married gay republican asking him what he would do to protect his rights in the face of a controversial religious liberty law. Watch. Ive noticed a lot of religious freedom laws and somewhat institutionalized Discrimination Laws happening around the country. What would you as president do to protect me and my husband from that institutionalized discrimination . Well, listen. When kit comes to religious liberty, thats something that protects every one of us. It is the first amendment, first phrase protected in the first phrase of the bill of rights and religious liberty applies to christians, jews, muslims, atheists. And all of us, we want to live in a world where we dont have the government dictating our beliefs. Dictating how we live. We have a right to live according to our faith, according to our conscious and that freedom ultimately protects each and every one of us. Joining me now, shaking his head still listening to ted cruz, todd is with us, he is a louisiana boy, originally. Moved to new york from Washington Four years ago and a piece and place here, lifelong republican. Undecided. Nice to meet you. Thank you. Did he dodge you . Hes on the wrong side of history. He doesnt know what to say when somebody says will you support me as a president of all the people or just be a right wing conservative as a president . Are you lifelong republican . Yep. Are you having leanings . I mean, so far, the problem with the Republican Party right now is they put me a box. Right . I have three choices. One doesnt look like hes got a shot. Trump has quite a lead and then you have the man you talked to this morning. Didnt impress me. Leaning trump . Yeah. I have to lean trump because theres not a lot of options right now. But i would love to know what trump says on this issue. Maybe we should tweet him. How would you like donald trump to answer the same question . I would like donald trump to the thing is the federal government has limited ability to change anything but what id love for president ial candidate to say through the leadership of being the president i would be speaking in a way thats accepting and allowing of people to, you know, buy cakes on their wedding day or whatever the problems with the Discrimination Laws are or religious freedom laws. What holds you back from going all in on donald trump . Maybe some of the rhetoric in the past and you feel i feel like theres a negative theres a negative bias against him and hard to say im for trump and a lot of people say im for trump and whisper it. Whispering . Yeah. Thats where im at right now and still registered republican. Im going to vote tomorrow and im going to do my best. What do you i know you say you watch cnn. Thank you very much for this. Of course. What do you make being a new yorker . Its been a bit of a circus two weeks in new york with the candidates coming through. Fascinating to cover and just this election overall. Whats shocking to see new york has taken a part in it. Been decades. Worked with elections in the past an we never touched on new york. Never mattered at least on the republican side. Democratic side and maybe it mattered for a primary. Its really amazing to see just to see the hillary and bernie and trump and cruz saturated. Stuff everywhere. Its exciting. Well follow up with you down the road. Thank you very much. Nice to meet you. Justices heard oral arguments in a case that could keep about 4 million undocumented immigrants from being deported. While inside, lawyers made their case on whether executive actions taken by president obama two years ago are, in fact, constitutional. Justice correspondent pamela brown is in washington following all the developments for us. What happened today, pamela . Reporter this is a case that impact millions of people in the United States and broad implications for the relationship between the president and congress, and during the 90 minutes of oral arguments it was intense. You could feel how high the stakes are and the justices seemed divided along ideological loons grappling with the question you pointed out about whether the president has the authority to not only shield 4. 3 million undocumented immigrants from deportation but also give them the ability to work and benefits. Conservative justices seemed skeptical of that and seemed to believe thats the job of congress, not the president. In fact, one point Justice Kennedy said it seems like the president coming up with the policy and congress executing it here. Thats upside down. But on the other hand the liberal justices siding with the administration and 11 million undocumented immigrants in the United States. The constitution gives the president prosecutorial discretion to manage immigration issues an enso the administration argues thats what its doing here with these programs. What could happen, one possible scenario, brooke, a 44 split with the death of Antonin Scalia meaning that the lower courts ruling would stand and bad news for the Obama Administration because the programs would not go forward and another scenario is the case is tossed out on standing betweens the programs go through and expect a decision later this term in june or july. Brooke . Im sure well be all over it when that happens. Pamela brown, thank you. As you pointed out, millions of people affected. In my entire 17year career here i dont think ive had a more rewarding experience on assignment than the one that took me thousands of miles away to a place where the fight against isis begins. The u. S. Navy invited know the front lines in the persian gulf and four flights later i landed on the uss harry s. Truman Aircraft Carrier with front row seat to the f18s carrying bombs to strike in syria and iraq and most importantly fortunate to get a firsthand look at the men and women who sacrifice everything, leaving homes and families behind, to serve this country. And in this First Exclusive piece, i want to share with you right now, put the focus on the women. And their stories. This is the u. S. Navys front line on the war on terror in the persian gulf. Lieutenant commander kate batten deployed two weeks after the paris attacks and her resolve only deepened after the recent bloodshed in brussels. That is exactly why were out here. If anything, it gives us that much more purpose and resolve to ensure that we are doing things the right way and that we leave this region better than we found it. Reporter when you put on your flight gear, what does that feel like . Its interesting because its a routine now. Its something i do every day. So at will have 0 times i dont think about it but when i sit back and think what does this really mean, its i dont know. I still get goose bumps every time i take a catapult off. Reporter Operation Inherent resolve by no means a mans mission. She is the senior female aviator on the uss harry s. Truman full of fighter jets ready to strike isis. This right here is a bomb. Its not live. Until just before the f18 takes off and oftentimes the pilots dont know the specific isis target is until theyre already in the air. Batten flies an e2, protecting those jets. Her aircraft one of the most essentially for carrier operations. Acts like air Traffic Control in the skies above iraq. For those pilots who are getting the coordinates to drop the bomb, how serious do they take their job . We do meticulous planning every day for whatever mission this were performing and i know they dont take the responsibility lightly. Reporter orchestrating, coordinating terrorist attacks in the west, is that discouraging given everything happening out here in the gulf . Yeah. I would say its disappointing. It is disappointing that we have human beings that would do that to other human beings. On the other hand, motivating and is assuring that the mission that were on is very righteous. Reporter what does ultimately success or victory look like . Yeah. I think it looks like violent extremism being eradicated and i dont know that we achieve that on this deployment. Reporter here on uss harry s. Truman this is a cat shot. Here about 90 sorties per day and when you feel this afterburn of the jets, let me tell you, it makes your teeth rattle. These sailors not only work together, they eat, exercise and reelection together. 5,300 sailors call the truman home, average age, 27 years old. A week before heading out here. We got married. And yeah. I mean, i wouldnt have any other way though. I wish i was home so i could be with him but i have to serve my country. This is my daughter. Reporter lieutenant precious mcquaid is one of two women on the strike groups nearby Missile Defense cruiser the uss anzio leading with men and women answering to her. Last november, this Naval Academy grad made a gut wrenching decision, leave her year and a halfyearold at home with her husband because duty called. Thats us after our wedding. Being a mother, not that its different than being a father, but some of the sacrifices i have made feel different to methane i think they would for a man. As much as i want to be home, im happy that im serving my country. And im showing that, you know, women can do this. Be married, have kids, have a family and still be just as successful both homefront and here in my professional side of life. Reporter gentlemen, respect. I mean, that she is doing this. These are the sacrifices these sailors are willing to make. Like batten, being away from her coast guard husband so the rest of us are safe. Were over here doing a job thats kind of bigger than both of us. And at the end of the day we can when we get to finally live together, well feel good about what we did. Reporter when you finally get to live with your husband . Yes. Can you imagine that . I talked to so many people over the course of two days, this is just one piece of my time in the persian gulf with the u. S. Navy tomorrow well share stories of four sailors deployed on the nearby missile cruiser uss anzio talking yabt they make the sacrifice, to join the navy, how they eat, sleep, when they have free time and let me tell you, paying close attention to the election back here at home. Ill be up at em 6 00 on new day. May have been amusing prank in top gun but u. S. Officials are not laughing over what they call another dangerous and provocative runin with a Russian Military jet in the baltic sea. First donald cook as it was sailing and now a close call in the skies over the ball tack sea. A reconnaissance plane barrel rolled midair. The u. S. Says that russian jet came within 50 feet of the aircrafts tip. Cnns Senior International correspondent Matthew Chance joins me now from moscow. I understand president obama and the russian president spoke today by phone. Did not discuss this. How is moscow responding . Reporter thats right. They discussed syria, they discussed ukraine and didnt discuss the incredibly aggressive tactics useded apparently by the Russian Air Force coming to nato ships and planes and in particular american ships and planes. You saw that dramatic footage from the baltic sea being buzzed by a russian war plane. Saturday, there was another incident in the skies in the same area. U. S. Reconnaissance plane close contact to a russian aircraft, as well. What the russians are saying is that, look, our pilots have done nothing wrong. No laws were broken and simply in the case of Reconnaissance Aircraft saw a fastmoving target toward the russians borders. Scrambling intercepters and then the u. S. Plane they said changed course and moved away from the direction of russia and theyre not acknowledging any of these aggressive tactics that have been described by u. S. Officials coming to that contact that was made in the skies. Hmm. All right. Matthew chance, thank you so much. Coming up next, gold escalators . Helicopter. Trump force one . You night say donald trump makes an entrance. What would a Trump Convention lock like if we were to clinch the nomination . He wants some showbiz in cleveland. Well, well talk to an Award Winning broadway producer joining me live to talk about what he would do. So, mr. President , how do you handle how do you handle promises that youve made when you were running for election and how do you handle it . I mean, what do you say to people . Do you just you know, i know people who could forget that moment . We love Clint Eastwood but that was the legend talking to an empty chair at the 2012 Republican National convention. Awkward, bizarre, fill in the blank yourself. Donald trump call it is boring. He wants to add some showbiz. Does he mean showbiz like this . Okay. I dont know if my next guest will agree with me. He wants to give people something that wont put them to sleep. We went straight to broadway here, one of the best in the business, broadway producer has produced more than a dozen broadway shows. So nice to have you here. Weve got to get creative today. Essentially what we were thinking is, if you had the heads of the rnc come to you and say, we want you to produce the hell out of the best, Biggest Political Party weve ever seen in cleveland. Location is a challenge right there. But one of the first things you have to know is your audience when youre a broadway producer. Democrats versus republicans. Republicans are a very Different Group of people. Im thinking a little more super bowltype convention here. Okay. And then its about spectacle. Wicked, phantom of the opera, big spectacles. A lot of scenery for sure and the entrance for these candidates is all going to be about that. For someone like trump, id take a queue from spiderman and fly him in. Fly in donald trump into the stage, hover, maybe, drop him down . Yeah. He definitely would swing throughout the whole auditorium. Hed go back and forth. Over the audience . Over the audience. Everyone looking up like this. Breathing a little fire everyone once in a while. Pyrotechnics. Making superdelegates disappear. He wishes. What about if hes talking about bringing in celebrities in who would you bring in . Well, thats a very good question. Because they pulled out a celebrity at the last convention. We all know how that went. I would probably go the rock star route if i could. I think a good halftime show is something that is sadly needed. I would darken all the lights, put out a big rock star again and light the super bowl and throw off a rock anthem in the middle of it. So you have trump flying above, rock out some band in the midst of it. Would you have whatever celebrity you would choose, would they stop and give speeches . Well, we would try to add a little more fun to the convention. Youve got to inject some fun. Even the most serious of all dramas, look at a classic les mis. They do master of the house. Of course. Very good. So we definitely want to inject some fun halfway through amidst the speeches. Would you involve alcohol . Well, thats the thing. Yes. Without a doubt. One of the most successful things that the broadway industry has done over the last ten years is let our patrons bring booze to their seats in little sippy cups. Sippy cups, let them drink whatever they want. That was the issue the last goaround, there were these drunk delegates running all around and kissinger was chasing them down and it was quite a melee. Thats what happens in congress anyway. So put it out for everyone to see . Yes. Bottom line, donald trump perhaps thinks hes the front runner, he should be able to do this, maybe ultimately he would pay for it. Would you attend a convention in cleveland if trump was pulling the strings and making a just like the debates, i guarantee if he gets his way and hes able to sculpt this, it would be the most heavily apr attended convention in history. Ken davenport, thanks for playing along. Appreciate it. Now, a woman who lost her leg three years ago in the Boston Marathon bombing, she is running all 26. 2 miles today using a prosthetic. Her inspiring story when we come back. We asked a group of young people when they thought they should start saving for retirement. Then we asked some older people when they actually did start saving. This gap between when we should start saving and when we actually do is one of the reasons why too many of us arent prepared for retirement. Just start as early as you can. Its going to pay off in the future. If we all start saving a little more today, well all be better prepared tomorrow. Prudential. Bring your challenges. If anyone dares to doubt the strength of that city and its people, just watch the Boston Marathon today. It has been three years ago since the terror attacks killed three people and injured hundreds right along boylston street there. One of them, a dancer who lost her leg in the bombing. Adrian was never a runner but shes on that course at the Boston Marathon using her prosthetic leg. She told me the running wasnt the hardest part. Its the mental challenge is the most difficult. Mentally for me personally, putting on my leg every day, waking up in the middle of the night to walk to the bathroom and im angry and i stay up all night angry. Its a daily challenge. The mental game is really tough. Not only did you fox trot across the finish line with your prosthetic leg, you crossed the finish line with your brothers in 2014, you will be running the 26. 2 mile course in just a couple of weeks. And from what i read, you said once upon a time you didnt even like running. So my hat is off to you, sister. Thanks so much. Thank you. You know, its the least that any of us could do as survivors to say a giant thank you for everyone who has ever reached out or said or relishes or wraps their arm around someone on the street. Its a giant thank you to boston. Shes been updating us.
