Refugees. Many families now living newer the Turkish Border vowing not to leave without their children. Meantime some 100 u. S. Troops could be the target of isis not on the battlefield of iraq or syria, bru right here on american soil. This Mysterious Group known as Islamic State hacking ors releasing this socalled hit list posting the names and addresses of men and women on line. Its important to mention that much of the names photos theyre publicly available. The most it is turnsh disturbing part is what it wants its isis supporters to do that being attack and stab or behead these military members. Jan is joining me. First, this group how much do you know about this group, how much validity should even be given here . Wells isis has been developing a very robust hacking capability for some time. Some members of the group who have been posting this link are connected to that organization and some arent. But its to their interests to represent it as hacking. But they do have a serious hacking operation. And again, as you understand it from d. O. D. How did they get the names, the photos, the addresses . I havent seen the chain of acquisition for this yet. So i dont know exactly how they got this information. Certainly as it was suggested, it could have been from public reports. Some of the information was inaccurate, so there is a good possibility that they just did it by mining the open web. News articles even social media, an official from d. O. D. Saying some of these individuals werent eninvolved in any of these air campaigns, but i guess its one thing for the United States to target isis in either syria or iraq but quite another to anticipate the lone wolf sympathizer, someone sitting this his basement inspired by propaganda and goes out and tries to attack an american soldier. How much should this concern the white house here . Well, you know lone wolf incidents are few and far between. And isis has been more successful than almost any other terrorist group in inspiring hes kinds of interests. So there is definitely increased focus on that kind of attack. But theyre still outliers. I mean where isis has shown some initiative is their propaganda and their outreach is targeted to people who might already be kind of unstable emotionally, people who might be prone to violence anyway. And then this will adopt that person after the fact as being an isis supporter. Jan, berger, thank you very much. Now to the crisis in yemen. Its being called one of the most dangerous countries in the world and there is growing concern that this ally to counterterrorism is on the brink of civil war. And may be turning in to a breeding ground for terrorist. And now the United States and britain are pulling out. 125 special Operations Forces have evacuated. The embassy has closed. And britain has also removed its military troops. All of this as rebels have taken over the province of sanaa and international airport. Proceed test protests are rampant. Nic robertson has been following all this therefrom london. U. S. Being an ally with a now ousted president using this country as a launching pad drones what now that the u. S. Presence is gone . Well, certainly there are drone possibilities just beyond the borders of yemen from saudi arabia and across the sea from djibouti. But what you lack is the sort of connectivity on the ground with spies on the ground people within al qaeda maybe even isis who can provide tiny anysnippets of information. And with a civil war going on, al qaeda and isis in yemen only have to look at their brethren in syria to see, look make use of the civil war grow your areas, get stability in those areas, take over towns set up operational bases and take control of chunks of territory to use them potentially to attack lets say the United States in the future. So the implications for these pull out of the last troops an everything that has been happening over the past few months its very serious, brooke. So isis could capitalize. Were reporting that the lives lost during prayer at the mosques in the capital city in yemen on friday isis claiming responsibility there. Im curious, though this is al qaeda headquarters for al qaeda and arabian peninsula. Can you not that i care how al qaeda feels about the isis presence now in yemen because theyre both enemies of the United States but i know there has been this sort of competition. You know right now they have a common enemy with the houthis. Al qaeda has claimed that it successfully claimed another 30 houthis. So theyre both trying to fight the same enemy here. Thats the bigger enemy for them. The al qaeda leader in yemen is the number two at al qaeda core across the globe. So theyre trying to keep out the sort of growth of isis drawing people away there al qaeda. Weve seen it all over the globe. But it is happening in yemen and certainly there will be a competition between the two and certainly al qaeda will want to keep a hold of its people, want to have the strongest fight that it can. But the reality is that the isis message is becoming pervasive and the propaganda and the bloody pictures that they were able to get through that attack in the mosques in sanaa on friday that plays to their strengths. This is the model that al qaeda continues to use. The most dramatic pictures and it tries to win over young recruits. And they will probably be hoping to do precisely that through what theyre doing at the moment. Nic robertson, knows this part of the world so well. Thank you as always. P weve just learned the long awaited result of the Police Investigation into the alleged gang rape on the university of virginia campus. Police in charlottesville now say they did not find any evidence to support that a gang rape had happened at a fraternity back in 2012. Unfortunately, were not able to conclude to any substantive degree this an incident that is consistent with the facts contained in that article occurred at the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity House or any other Fraternity House for that matter. I want to be clear about something. That doesnt mean that something terrible did not happen to jackie on the evening of september 28 2012. Were just not able to gather sufficient facts to conclude what that something may have been. Police is been investigating after Rolling Stone magazine published this story detailing this horrific account of this woman they called jackie. A College Student who said she was gag rainrang raped. The article was called rain on campus. It horrified reader when it was published. The article also suggested the school failed to respond to the alleged assault. But inconsistency, questions in jackies stories emerged causing Rolling Stone to apologize and investigate what went so wrong. Remember they didnt reach out to the other side fear of retribution for the alleged victim and later apologized for that. Let me bring in katherine valentine. Weve talked a number of times. Great to see you. And let me remind all of our viewers your involvement in all this. In the wake of the Rolling Stone piece in november, you sat down and really pressed the associate dean of students on the fact that no student had been expelled for committing Sexual Assault even when there was an admission. So this is part of that interview. Do you not think its damaging for victims to seat person who sexually assaulted or rape them on grounds . I think it can be. I think were trying to balance the rights of the individual who is being accused as well as the rights of the complainant. And sometimes thats very difficult. This story sparked a national conversation. A lot of questions there at the university of virginia. Fast forward to today, chief police lo this. Ngo saying it doesnt mean sthgomething didnt happen but they have no evidence to prove something did. How are students responding to that news takeoday . Obviously this article is one that has deeply impacted our community. So i think after talking with students were confuseded a frankly unsatisfied by todays press conference. What specifically are students saying to you, why are they confused . Well, i believe you were watching as well, chief longo mentioned at least four incidents that jackie had described and that was news to me. And i think that was news to my fellow students as well. And also the fact that chief longo said that this is still open its not technically closed. But it is very inconclusive. I just think students are confused and looking for answers. You mentioned the other assaults and i was watching it live unfolding and none of us were aware of those. And there were inconsist inside inside there, as well, but she could have been a victim, but no evidence that weve found. To your point, it is case suspended. Your concern is how this might impact other victims in hair willing fls to speak out. I do think after the incident women were coming forward with their stories. I had never before heard Fraternity Boys talking about Sexual Assault and consent. That is huge. Im sure you you would have been shocked if you were walking down the corner, as well. So i do think women were more comfortable sharing their stories. And my fear is that with all of this confusion, withal lRolling Stone retracting their statement, im worry that had women will be afraid that they will beliars. But i believe some good did come out of this article. You you mentioned the fraternity and some fraternity are brothers. I know you know some of the fraternity. Grant this haded this happened in 2012 so many may not be at uva anymore. But i know will this fraternity they havent been talking. Have they shared anything with you . They have. This is very personal for all of us. But it is very very personal to them. They were frankly devastated in november when the article was released. Ic they were ashamed, they were confused. They joined this fraternity this brotherhood, with this idea of friendship. Brotherly love. And they still love each other very dearly. But november really shook them. I think now they are really hoping to move forward. I know that they are planning some events with friends. And think that they are trying to move forward the best they can and kind of restore their fraternitys name. Cathkatherine valentine, thank you so much. Thank you, brooke. Hes known for Government Shutdowns, but today senator ted cruz officially opened the race for presidency. Hes the first on either side to announce a run and he can it today at the conservative liberty university. I believe in you. I believe in the power of millions of conservatives to reignite the promise of america. And that is why today im announcing that im running for president of the United States. Love him or love to hate him this is a man who played a key role this prompting the Government Shutdown two years ago. He certainly gained credibility within the tea party but a lot of critics inside, republicans. Ted cruz is a fraud and will no longer have any influence in the Republican Party. Now you have to keep up with this ted cruz strategy. It has to move forward. Does ted cruz hurt your party . I think the tactical choice that he embraced hurt our party. Our partys been hurt. Our brand name is at the lowest ever. David and rachel joining me now. David, youre up to bat first. Here he is Jerry Falwells liberty university. I heard you earlier today saying this is a builtin audience. Was i reading that they would be fined if the students didnt show up . I havent seen the fine language but it was required attendance. They have these convocations every week and students are required to attend. So in that way, it was a builtin audience and he certainly got a good reception in the hall and it was him laying down a marker that that evangelical base part of the Republican Party is the start upon which he would build his campaign. I read 8,000, 10,000 people here at this university. But i know rachel you noticed not everyone was in ted cruzs corner. Most of the crowd very ennews i cant say tig ennews i cant sayenthusiastic stand with rand tshirts. And he took some teasing on to wit are you because she was playingplay he was playing to the crowd in the room, not the cameras. So we saw quite a few puns about him backing in to his campaign. Hes surrounded by people. Are you saying thats a rookie move knowing hes on national tv . S itss its the difference between playing to the cameras in a president ial campaign and being very good and very effective in the room. A lot of comments taker about how he is an effect taker or are a tore and he gave a speech with a lot of passion and enthusiasm but those are just on that ticks to consider for a National Television audience. Okay. David, jeff toobin wrote a if a phenomenal piece a year ago and he says he delights the base of his party, but moving farther from the positions of most americans on most issues. He rejects Marriage Equality and of course demands the repeal of quote, every blessed word of obamacare. Thats ted cruz. How are we saw how ten established republicans felt about him two years ago. How do they feel today . He wont win any popularity contests. But that was a big part of his message today was to get out there and say washington is not goinghe problems get solved. It will be by a ground swell of what he calls courageous conservatives. So he embraces this battle. But when it comes to fund raising an all the foot soldiers you need the establishment is not a bad thing to have. You want that state Party Apparatus apparatus. And so there is only so far you can go without also taking a piece of that establishment wing of the party, which hell have to figure out a way to do. Its fascinating learning not only about politicians, but their other halves. Sometimes better halves. And rachel i wanted to ask you about his wife heidi. Shell be taking this unpaid leave of absence from her job as managing director of Goldman Sachs to help with the campaign. Can you just first tell us a little bit more about her . Sure. Heidi cruz very accomplished in her own right. Worked in the bush admin strarks Administration Administration managing director at Goldman Sachs. And announced that she would be taking a leave for the duration of her husbands president ial campaign. So shell be out there helping him. That means shes also temporarily giving up her benefits which includes the familys health insurance. So it will be interesting to see how they handle that. Keeping everything with how he feels on obamacare exactly. Thank you two very much. The fifth episode, not the episode where he made all the hot mike the fifth episode where they introduce the second letter with the exact same address, that is introduced in the fifth episode on the eighth of march. On the ninth, his cell phone goes silent for several days. Something not typical. And then it comes back live beaumont texas. They know hes on the run from houston. Lapd knows hes left his home with five bags and hes going somewhere. They think he might be going to louisiana, but they are not sure. They department the Louisiana Department of Public Safety to be on the lookout for the lie license plates. At the marriott on canal street in new orleans, mr. Durst who loves to use voice mail and loves to check his voice mail checking his voice mail a couple of times. Fbi knows hes there. They see him walking down the elevator there. They ask him if hes robert durst. He sort of says well, blah, blah, blah i have my passport upstairs. Lets go see it. Thats why they think he may have been going cuba. This is a guy clearly planning something. Very very clear why the judge would not allow bail today. Obviously denied. Im impressed all the twists and turns. You got the this. Thank you so much. I appreciate it. And now speaking of license plates they can be political, they can be social and usually denote ties to a political interest group. The state of texas is being sued now over this specialty design. You see it here. And the case has made it all the way to the United States Supreme Court because the group sons of confederate veterans wants the license plate with their battle flag on their vehicles. But texas says this is offend suffer offensive. But the group says its free speech. When someone puts a special plate like these sponsored plates for nonprofit organizations, they are making the decision to put it on themselves and its not the point of view of the state of texas. So we heard a little bit of the notion of where this may go. Obviously the arguments over the free speech issue. How might the justices see this . Well, this is an interesting case because its a First Amendment issue that a lot of people can relate to. You go down the highways in texas and you see these plates. Some say texas forever or ducks unlimited or fight terrorism. Many states have these kinds of programs. And texas says, look, you can either buy the standard issue plates or individuals and nonprofits for a fee can submit license plates design. But heres the key. Theyre subject to the approval of texas. And in texas in this case it drew the line against the sons of confederate veterans. It said we are not going to have the Confederate Flag on our license plate. Thats offensive. And thats what is in in front of the court right now. What was said in court today . Basically they had to ask two big questions. The first one is it government speech. What is on hose liethose license plates . Is the government speaking . And if it is can say what itment was. And texas says this is our speech. We do not want this on the license plates. But on the other side they said this is private speech and the government cant pick and choose what would be considered private speech have a youview point. We want to honor these dead soldiers and we dont see it as rates rac racism. One says mighty feinbergine burgers. Is that government speech . But what if they had racial slurs or swastikas. One guy from the ncaap said this flag is horrible and ben jones said this flag honors the veterans of the war. So a great First Amendment case. These justices have to be very mindful is it setting any kind of resident. Well be watching. Thank you very much. Coming up next i really want to share this emotional interview with this woman here determined to run a 10 k after losing more than 200 pounds. We all need a little inspiration on our monday afternoon, right . This is a story about this woman by the name of aja ford. Shes a mother in kentucky who by the way, has already lost more than 200 pounds. So congratulations to her just on that. This past sunday she decided she wanted to run her first 10k, run this race as part of her commitment to really stay healthy. Shes running, shes running, she hits mile five. Shes got one more mile to go and she says at that point in time, she hit a wall. Her breathing, it was difficult. She wanted to quit. Well you see this Police Officer holding her hand . This guy by the name of lieutenant Aubrey Gregory happened to be walking the race nearby. He saw her, he walked over and took her hand. Her young son on the right, the officer on the left. Heres what happened. Welcome, nice to see both of you. Thank you. Thank you. All right, let me begin with you, aja. You got this 10k, you hit mile five, how was it going . It wasnt going too well. Mile five is when i wanted to stop and i had actually told my son that this was the end of the race. I felt my body shutting down so i knew i couldnt go any further. Then i looked to the ground and i was like god, if you can just let me go a couple more steps and i was tearful because i knew i only had a mile in front of me and once i said that to my left was officer gregory, and he took my hand and he talked to my son and introduced himself, and you know told me to look down the street and he told me to see the finish line. He said its only one mile in front of us and he wasnt going to allow us to go with it on our own. So he walked us to the finish line. Incredible. I know how a mile talking about it after the fact seems like nothing but when youre in it its like forever. Officer, when you saw aja, what propelled you to walk toward her and help her out . How could you not . Good answer. Being the police being who you are, its all about service. Its all about helping people. I saw the opportunity, i saw someone who needed help and i was there so i got out of the car and i walked up to her and as soon as i walked up to her, she grabbed my hand and it was like electricity. I just knew that thats where i was supposed to be and thats what i was supposed to be doing. We help people every day but there was Something Special about that and i asked her, i said are we going to stop . And she said no and i said great, then were going to finish together. I love the picture. I love this picture of the three of you from behind lieutenant gregory, aja and your son. I want to talk about your son in just a moment. Can you take me within your conversations in that final mile . Who was saying what did you still want to quit aja . Lieutenant what were you saying to her . Well you know we started off, i introduced myself and i asked her if she was okay and i thanked her for giving me a chance to be with her. Being a Police Officer you run into a lot of people and i have been lucky enough to meet a lot of people but i havent met too many people with the heart the size of miss ford and her son. I thanked him for being such a strong person to be there with his mother to support her and hold her hand on the other side. We talked about some of the medical problems that she had gone through and the loss of a limb of her husband and i shared with her about the loss of my mother. My mom has been gone almost 14 years now and she struggled with diabetes her whole life. We talked about that. Talked about t. J. s school and his extracurricular activities. This is all in that final mile. Were getting deep, you two. This is like true real life struggles. Its incredible. If i may just interject, i just would love to play a little sound from your son. I know he was asked about his attitude toward Police Officers and you, lieutenant specifically. This is what he said. With all the stuff thats going on now with police its nice to have to know theres good people out there. Lieutenant gregory, a lot obviously has been talked about nationwide certainly here at cnn, about relationships or lack thereof between Community Members and police. When you hear this from this young man, how did it sit with you . It fills you up. From the inside out. We mrafrs often get labeled as strictly just law enforcement, thats all we are, thats all we do. That is just a small part of what being a Police Officer is and so the chance to make an impact on that young man and to be a part of what this amazing lady and her accomplishments, it means the world. Means the world to me. Aja, i think i see a tear down your right cheek. This is obviously still quite emotional for you. Can you just talk to me about how youre feeling right now . Its a blessing because i didnt realize what was going on at the time until i got to the finish line and i realized that officer gregory talked to me and my son to keep my mind focused on us finishing and not what was going on at that moment. So for me this has been a blessing all the way around because i teach my kids not to give up. I teach them when they set their mind on something that they cant give up. Im the hardhitting one of the family. Im the one who once i get it set in my mind, im not going to give up so my son with him watching me im thinking at the time im giving up on him but im also giving up on myself. So through prayer this man right here you talk about angels. I dont see the badge. I dont see the boots. This is a gift from god. If he wasnt there, my journey would have ended right there at mile five. Aja ford lieutenant gregory thank you both so much. Thank you. How wonderful are they . On your monday afternoon, whether its running a race or climbing a mountain or dealing with something difficult with work or in your personal life i love what that officer did. The simple thing of grabbing someones hand really speaks volumes and how she was saying she saw beyond the badge and saw this man who was willing to help so flanked by her young son and this officer, i salute you. Thank you so much for sharing your story. Keep on running. Im brooke baldwin. John berman is in for jake tapper. The lead starts now. Al qaeda is there, isis is there and now the u. S. Is gone.
