Force . Yes. What is that opinion . That it would. Why is that . At the time of the restraint period mr. Floyd was not resisting. He was in a prone position. He was handcuffed. He was not attempting to evade. He was not attempting to resist, and the pressure that he was that was being caused by the body weight could caught positional asphyxia, which would cause test. Josh campbell is live outside that courthouse. There was quite a bit of crossexamination on this westbound. Reporter i apologize. Theres an alarm going or nearby the courthouse. The key witness is that lapd Expert Witness. If you think about it, the jury are not for the most part experts in Law Enforcement. Its up to prosecutors and the defense to bring in experts to try to explain what it means. And what were hearing from this use of force, is that the force that Derek Chauvin used against george floyd constituted deadly force and was inappropriate. He said one his was on the ground, handcuffed, in that up there was no force necessary. Weve been getting reactions from inside. Our reporter saying the jury was taking copious notes paying attention to this witness. The defense will have later on to bring in their own experts, but for his part today, very powerful testimony. One of the things that the defense tried to do which is what we noticed here is all these hypotheticals josh, hang on a second. I need po make sure youre okay. Forgive me for being that person, but im going to take you off tv, make sure youre okay, whatever is going to i promise well bring you back. Right . Josh campbell standing by there. Lets go to cedric alexander, without fire alarms going off behind you. Lets just begin with the testimony, the crossexam, the line of question ing what do yo make it . The whole idea is to create some doubt, but youre looking at a very young lieutenant, who is very seasoned, an lapd officer who has relayed himself very well and able to clarify any question given to him by either side. So this case will continue to evolve, when it could versus applied, when it should not have been applied, but the real key here, as we move forward, its going to be the science that is going to become very, very interesting when we start hearing from pathologists. The medical, yeah. The medical examiners, et cetera. Thats when it would become very, very interesting in this case. Which is presumably the next phase of witnesses, but elie, just staying on these useofforce experts, how effective has it been . So much strategy is about focus. We saw that battle playing out today. The prosecution with this Expert Witness had his almost complete focus on that crucial 9 minutes, 29 seconds. When the crossexamination happened they were trying to put it anywhere else but that 9 29, and break it into small pieces elie, forgive me. Lets go to president biden. Had. Last week in pittsburgh, pennsylvania, i announced my plan to rebuild what i believe the backbone of america, through the american jobs plan. Its not a plan that tankers around the edges. Its a once in a Generation Investment in america. Only since we built the enter state and won the space race decades ago. Its the single largest investment in american jobs since world war ii. Its a plan that puts millions of americans to work to fix whats broken in this country. Tens of thousands of miles of roads and highways, thousands of bridges in desperate need of repair, but also a blueprint for infrastructure needed for tomorrow. Not just yesterday, tomorrow. For american jobs, for american competitiveness. Last week i said that once congress is back from recess, i get to work right away, because we have no time to lose. So here we are. Democrats and republicans will have ideas about what they like and dont like. Thats a good thing. Thats the way democracy works, debate is welcome, compromise is inevitable, changes are certain. In the next few weeks, the Vice President and i will be meeting with republicans and democrats to hear from everyone. Well be listening, well be open to good ideas and goodfaith negotiations, but heres what we wont be open to. We will not be open to doing nothing. Inaction simply is not an option now, since i announced this plan, ive heard from my republican friends say that many of them say its too big. They say why not focus on traditional infrastructure . For example what weve already got, the roa roads and the highways that exist and the bridges. Im happy to have that debate, but i will tell you my view we dont just fix for today. We build for tomorrow. 200 years ago, trains werent traditional infrastructure, either, until america made a choice to lay down tracks across the country. Highways werent traditional infrastructure until we allowed ourselves to imagine that roads could connect or nation across state lines. The idea of infrastructure has always evolved to meet the aspirations of the American People and their needs. And its evolving again today. We need to start see infrastructures through its effect on the lives of working people in america. What is the foundation today that they need to carve out their place in the middle class to make it . To live . To go to work . To raise their families with dignity . To ensure good jobs will be there for their kids, no matter who they are or what zip codes they live in . Thats what infrastructure means in the 21st century. It still depends on roads and bridges, ports and airports, rails and masses transit, but it also depends on reliability highspeed internet in homes, because it is todays infrastructure. It depends on the electric grid, a grid that wont collapse in a winter storm or be compromised by hackers, at home or abroad. It depends on investing in made in america goods from every american community, including those that have historically been left out. Black, latino, rural communities. Talk to folks ash the country about what makes up a Good Foundation ask a teacher or childcare worker, of having clean Drinking Water in our schools and Childcare Centers is part of that foundation, when we know the lead in our pipes slows a childs development when they drink that water. Ask the entrepreneur whose Small Business is destroyed by the second 100year flood in the last ten years in iowa. Or wildfires in the west that burned 5 million acres last year, an area roughly the size of the entire state of new jersey. More fires than ever. Or the devastating damages seen more frequent and more intense hurricanes and storms on the east and gulf coasts. Ask all those farmers and Small Business owners and homeowners whether investing in clean energy to fight the effects of Climate Change is part of infrastructure. Ask folks in Rural America where more than 35 of the people lack a reliability highspeed internet, limiting their ability to conduct business or engage in remote learning. For the schools, ask them whether internet will lead to new jobs, better opportunities for their kids. Im serious about this. Ask the moms and dad in the sandwich generation, the folks carrying enormous financial strains trying to raise their children and care for their elderly parents or members of th their family with disabilities. Ask them what infrastructure they need to build a better life, breathe a bit. Expanded services for senior citizens, home care workers that can cook them a meal, allowing them to stay in their homes, and i might add, saving med case hundreds of millions in the process. Better wages and benefits and opportunities for caregivers who are disproportionately women, women of color and immigrants. Or ask our Wounded Warriors and military families, to my republican colleagues in congress, shouldnt we modernize v. A. Hospitals . Update them . Many of them are more than 50 years old. How about the estimated 450,000 post9 11 veterans with post Traumatic Stress disorder, when they make that emergency call to the v. A. Hospital, dad needs help, we have to bring him in and they hear, you have to wait. We dont have room now. Come back. Call some he back in 8 days, 10 days, 12 days. And people getting shot. Is it really your position, my friends that our veterans dont deserve the most modern facilities . So we can catch that cancer diagnosis better . Access to better roads, cleaner water, highspeed enter net that delivers information faster and more of it . Infrastructure is about meeting the needs of a nation and putting americans to work and being ability to do and get paid for having good jobs. Plumbers and pipefitters. Replacing the literal thousands of miles of dangerous lead pipes. Theyre still out there. Everybody remembers what happened this flint. Theres hundreds of flints all across america. How many of you know, when you send your child to school the founding theyre drinking out of is not fed by lead pipe . How many of you know the school your child is in still has asbestos in the walls and lacks ventilation . Isnt that not infrastructure . Line workers and electricians, laying transmission lines for modern grids. Friday, over 500,000 charging stations on the highways we are going to build to accommodate electric vehicles, so we can own the future. Construction workers and engineers building modern hospitals and homes for american families. Healthcare workers, steel workers, folks who work in the cuttingedge labs. Nearly 90 of the infrastructure jobs created by can be filled by people who dont have a college degree. 75 dont need an associates degree. As i said last week this is a blue collar blueprint for increasing opportunity for the American People. It also includes the biggest investment in nondefense Research Development on record. I promise you, its not part of my speech, but i promise you, youre all going to be reporting over the next six to eight months how decline and the rest of the world is racing ahead of us and the investments they have in the future, attempting to own the future, the technology, quantum computing, investing significant amounts of money in dealing with cancer, alzheimers. Thats infrastructure of a na nation. Theres a new book out how we have fallen behind, america is no longer the leader of the world, because were not investing. It used to be we invested almost 2. 7 of our gdp. And now its about 0. 7 . When we were investing it, we were the leader in the world. I dont know why we dont get this. One of the only few Major Economies in the world whose Public Investment in research and development has declined as a percentage of gdp in the last 25 years. Declined. The United States of america. That led the world. Why does this matter . Investing in research and Development Helped lead the lithium batteries, l. E. D. Technology, the internet itself. It helped lead the vaccine breakthroughs that are helping us beat covid19. To the human genome project which has led to breakthroughs how we understand and fight cancer and other diseases. Government, meaning the taxpayers, funded this research. Gove government. When we stop investing in research, we stop investing in the jobs of the future, and we give up leading the world. When we do invest in research, what were really doing is raising the bar on what we can imagine. Imagine a world where you and your family can travel coast to coast without a single tank of gas or in a highspeed train close to as fast as you can going across the country. Imagine your children growing up to work in enoy investigation, good paying jobs in fields that havent even been invented yet, like the parents of every computer programmer, every graphic designer, every Renewble Energy worker once did, imagined. We invest today so these jobs will be here in america to tomorrow, so america can lead the world that has its historically done. Thats why i brought back scientists into the white house. We need to think look, do we think the rest of the world is waiting around . Were not going to make those kind of investments, the rest of the world is saying. Take a look. Do you think china is waiting around to invest in this digital infrastructure, or in research and development . I promise you, they are not waiting. But theyre counting on america and democracy to be too slow, too limited, and too divided to keep pace. Youve heard me say it before. I think this generation will be marked by the competition between democracies and autocracies, because the world is changing so rapidly. The autocrats are betting on democracy not generating the unity to make the decisions to get in that race. We cant afford to prove them right. We have to show the world, and much more importantly, we have to show ourselves that democracy works. , that we can come together on the big things. This is the United States of america, for gods sake. Of course, Building Infrastructure of tomorrow requires Major Investments today. As i said last week, im open to ideas about how to pay for this plan, with one exception i will not impose any tax increases on people making less than 400,000 a year. If others have ideas out there on how to pay for this investment, without violating that rule, they should come forward. Theres all kinds of opportunities. Just list all the tax breaks that i find difficult to explain, wealthy deductions, 360 billion, cap top rate of 39 , which used to be 400 for years all the way to the bush administration. Almost a quarter of a trillion dollars, correspondent minute millennium tax, the fossil fuel giveaways. I cant go on. Let me tell you what i proposed, how to do it. Were going to raise the Corporate Tax rate. It was 35 for the longest time, which was too high, barack and i thought it was too high during our administration. We all agreed five years ago it should come down somewhat, but the Previous Administration reduced it all the way down to 21 . What i am proposing is we meet in the middle, 28 . 28 would still have lower corporate rates than any time between world war ii and 2017. It will generate over a trillion in taxes over 15 years, a new independent study put out last week found at least 55 of our largest corporations use the various loopholes to pay zero federal Tax Income Tax in 2020. Its just not fair. Its not fair to the rest of the american taxpayers. Were going to try to put an end to this. Not fleece them. 28 . If youre a mom a dad, a cop, firefighter, police officers, et cetera, youre paying close to that in your income tax. Ive also proposed the global minimum tax, being proposed around the world for u. S. Corpo corporations. That means that companies will not be able to hide their income in places like the Cayman Islands and bermuda. Also eliminated deductions yew by corporations for offshoring jobs and shifting assets overseas. They shift overseas and then dont have to pay taxes on all that they makes there. Well significantly ramp up i. R. S. Enforcement against corporations or the superwealthy who fail to report income or underreport it. Its estimated it could raise tens of billions of dollars. Just 15 years. Its honest, its fair, its m fiscally response. It pays for what we need and reduces the debt over the long haul. By the way, i dont hear any of our fans criticizing the play, that the Corporate Tax cut, the trump tax cut, added 2 trillion, 1. 9 trillion to the debt, the vast majority went to 1 of the top wage earners. I didnt hear anybody holler in this recovery, this kshaped recovery where billionaires made 300 billion more during this period. Where is the outrage there . Im not trying to punish anybody, but damnit, maybe its because i come from a middleclass neighborhood, im sick and tired of ordinary people being fleeced. Let me close by saying this. Whatever part sans and divisions there are around other issues, there dont have to be around this one. This shouldnt stop us from doing the right thing for the future. These arent republican bridges, democratic airports, thinks of the enter estate system or the space race. Were one nation, united and connected. As i said last week, im going to bring republicans to the white house. I invite them to come. Well have goodfaith negotiations, and any republican who wants to get this done, i invite, i invite them. We have to get these things done. Were at an Inflection Point in american democracy. This is a moment where we prove whether or not democracy with deliver, whether it can lay the foundation for an economy build from the bottom up and middle out, not trickledown economics from the top. Whether it can Lay Foundation for good jobs in a 21st century. I it would the young kids who work for me, my kids, when i go on college campuses, theyre going to see more change in the next ten years than we have seen in the last 50 years. Were going to talk about commercial aircraft, flying at super sonic speeds. Be able to figuratively, if we decided to do it, traverse the world in about an hour, travel 21,000 miles an hour. So much is changing. We have got to lead it. I believe democracy can come through. , when the American People come together. We saw it in the American Rescue plan. Were seeing it with the jobs plan. The American Rescue plan, which got so badly criticized, how many of my republican colleagues have gone on your stations or newspapers say, boy, my state really like it. The number of republicans and democrats who are hesitant, have called me, saying, god, this really works. Overwhelming majority of the American People support Infrastructure Investments that meets the moment. So i urge the congress, listen to your constituents and together we can lay a foundation for an economy that works for everyone and allows everyone america to be the world leader. He believe in 50 years from now, when people look back, theyll say this was the moment together that we won americas futures. I really believe that. Thank you all. May god bless you and may god protect our troops. Reporter russ willing to go lower than the 28 tax rate . Im willing to listen, im wide open, but we have to pay for this. Im willing to negotiate that. I have come forward with the best, most rational way in my view, the fairest way to pay for it, but there are many other ways. Reporter will you have failed on your promise of bipartisanship if you dont get republicans on board . What i said was i would try to work with my friends on the other side. There are things were working on together, some of which we passed, some of which we will pass, but the last plan i laid out that was available, what i was suggesting and how you would deal with it, and a Bipartisan Group came to see me. Then the Republican Group came to see me. And they started off at 600 billion, and that was it. If they come forward with a plan that it was a billion three, four, two or three, that allowed me to have pieces of all of what was in there, i would have been prepared to compromise, but they didnt. They didnt move an inch. Not an inch. For example, i am dealing with a Bipartisan Group that came to see me, now its about, what, three, four weeks ago when they came about computer chips, and they said, look, we have to have our own supply, we have to work together. Were working on that. Chuck schumer and i think mcconnell are about to introduce a bill along those lines. Im prepared to work. I really am, but to automatically saying what is infrastructure is a highway or a bridge, whatever, thats just not rational. It really isnt. Why do you think the vast majority of americans think from the sewer pipes to the sewer facilities to the water pipes, i think theyre infrastructure. Anyway, thank you all so very much. Okay. Phil mattingly, lets jump into this, listen, he is bringing the fire, bringing the heat today. He feels angry, hes taking this attack from republicans against his infrastructure plan head on hang on, lets listen. Stay strong. Phil, what did you think . Reporter yeah, this was a calculated strategic effort, as you note. Really attack straight on the criticisms they have received about this proposals. Its a sweeping proposal, just the first of a twopart plan, the first part 2. 25 trillion. Youve heard from republican after republican, that its too large on the first point. On the second points, too much of it doesnt have to deal with traditional infrastructure. Were talking about 400 billion for home care, 174 billion for a fleet of electric vehicles. What you just heard the president do is lay out point by point why he believes all of this falls under his definition, his umbrella or the evolution of how he wants to define infrastructure. Despite these attacks, and pollute unity on the republican side in attacking on these ground, the president is not running away from this plan. Itunder scores the view, and you heard it from the president. I hear this from senior white house officials as well. They are willing to go big. If republicans are not going to join them, theyre willing to move without republicans. You cant almost count on two house of representatives how many times the president said china. This is he believes this is about competition, this is about global competition. After decades of the u. S. In the white houses view underinvesting in the country, underinvesting in key elements of u. S. Infrastructure, this is how you compete, and one last he made very clear hes willing to negotiate that 28 Corporate Tax rate, but he still want to pay for the proposal. Will he negotiate . What hes willing to give is not a whole lot, as hes laid out. We shall see. Thank you very, very much. With that, lets taking back to minneapolis to the try of Derek Chauvin. So were clear, thats a sample of mr. Floyd as blood, correct. Thats provided to the lab for any testing they might need it for . Yes, sir. At some points did you receive a copy of the autopsy report from the medical examiner . Yes, sir. Do you recall what day it was that you received in a . I believe it was june 4th, 2020. Did that include a copy of the toxicology report . Yes, sir. Prior to that, did you have any we have preliminary information, but nothing concrete. Where did that come from . Some of it was in the a rho files of the radio traffic. What did that indicate . That in floyd may have been under some influence. Did you know at that point what substance or what form . No, sir. Was any drug use suspected there at the scene . No, sir. I want to move to december, then, of 2020. Was a subsequent request made to conduct a further processing of the mercedes suv . Yes, it was. Do you recall how that came about . Per the prosecutions request. What was requested that be done . A reprocessing of the mercedesbenz, with particular focus on a few specific items, to include a potential pill. Well, what role did you play in then the processing of the mercedes suv . Facilitation. I notified the cream scene t Crime Scene Team. Where had it been held in the interim . A secure lot. By secure, you mean where the public couldnt access it . Correct. Before its send is there something thats done . We place crime scene tape over the thresholds and sign and date so theres a chain of custody. When you got that vehicle back to the garage, did you check the conditions of the tape . Yes. Were they intact in. Yes. Did the Crime Scene Team process that vehicle against . Yes, sir. Who was involved in the processing of that . Mackenzie anderson. Were you in the process. The defense requested to view the squad 320, and they identified something in the backseat, a pill, and then we facilitated the facilitation off of that. And processed it in the crime scene garage. So the attorneys for the defendants asked to look at the vehicle itself . Correct. That was done where, do you recall . In the secure lot. Ms. That they identified . Correct. They drew that to your attention . Yes, sir. Did you make arrangements to have 320 processed again . Yes, sir. How was that done . Through Mckenzie Anderson . Yes. Were the seals in place . No. Why not . They were broken at the secure lot. For what purpose . For the defense to view. They looked at the inside of the squad car . Correct. About they process that vehicle again . Yes. Its your understanding that she will testify later about the processing of both of those vehicles . Yes, sir. So is part of the investigation, did you also ob obtain medical reports for mr. Floyd . Yes, sir. Did you which provide did you obtain medical records from . Mcmc and hcmc is Hennepin Medical Center . Yes. Agent reyerson have you been in squad 320 . Yes. Do you know what kind of vehicle it is . Its a hybrid. What does that mean . It operates on both a gas, traditional engine and electronic. There were opportunities when you started it, were there times when the gas engine would not run . Yes, sir, the first time we attempted to start it in the garage. We didnt hear the gas engine start. So we were initially a little confused. Did you figure out that in fact it was on . Yes. It was running on the boo theory rather than the gas engine . Yes, sir. Do you know if it has a catalytic converter . Yes, it does. What is the catalytic converter . To reduce toxic emissions. Prior to coming to court, did you have an opportunity to review a video ill refer to it as a composite video. Yes, sir. Putting two separate videos into one . Yes, sir. Did you req thacognize and dete if they were synced up . Yes, sir, it appeared to be synced. We would offer exhibit 127. Any objection . No objection. 127 is received. Agent reyerson, what im going to do is talk about some timing with this video. So im going to refer you to portions of it so were not going to watch the whole thing, but to specific portions. Im going to ask that 127 be published in that way. If we can go to 20 19 18. Okay. So the record should reflect that right now were at 20 19 17. Thats good. Agent reyerson, at this moment in the exhibit 127, is this the approximate mott where mr. Floyd is placed prone on the ground . Yes, it is, sir. When this happens around this time period, im going to let this run for about ten seconds, okay . Yes, sir. I cant breathe. Looking at that tensecond portion, were you able to determine approximately where mr. Chauvins left knee is in. Yes, sir, it appears as though its on the back of mr. Floyds neck. Are you ability to terr where mr. Chauvins right knee is . It appears as if its on mr. Floyds back. Right here at 20 19 28, the hand in the center of the photograph, suv officer chauvins hand . Yes, sir. Wearing a glove . Yes, sir. The videos you have reviewed, was he wearing gloves on both hands . Yes, sir. Im going to speed up to 20 20 45. Thats good. Im going to let that run for ten seconds, okay . Yes. Ahh. Now, here at 20 20 55, for the record, we see another video portion within this video, correct . Yes, sir. The right hand, as youre looking at it, the right side of the screen is danielles video, correct . Yes. This is what we mend earlier about a composite video . Yes, sir. Is there a time during a darnela video, that its apparent mr. Floyd stops verbalizing or saying words . Yes, sir. If we could go to 20 23 59. At 23 58, and i would ask that you play this for about ten seconds again. I cant breathe. Bro, youre being a bum off. Get him off the ground, bro. Youre being a bum right now. All right. Is this the moment in the encounter between mr. Floyd and mr. Chauvin, when mr. Floyd appears to stop making verbal sounds, talking . Yes, sir. Prior to coming to court, did you have an opportunity to look at defense exhibits . Yes. Im going to ask that exhibit 1045 be placed on the screen, please. Can you note for the jurors the time stamp in this exhibit . 20 23 32. So approximately how long after mr. Flow was put on the prone position did this occur . Would it help to refresh your recollection to refer to a note . Sure. He was placed on the ground at 20 20 19 18. So more than four minutes . More than four minutes. Then going back to exhibit 1047, is there a point in time when it appears that mr. Floyd no longer makes any movements . Yes, sir. Im going to ask you to go to 20 24 58 ill let this run for about ten seconds, too. Youve a bum for that. Youre a bum for that, bro. So is this approximately the time when afterwards mr. Floyd does not appear to make any movement . Yes, sir. For the record we stopped at 25 05 08. The facebook video, does it appear that mr. Chauvin is using his weight to hold mr. Floyd down . Yes, it does. Im going to ask you to show you 1046. Can you tell the jurors the time tamp from this exhibit . 20 26 40. So how long after the time that mr. Floyd no longer appears to be moving is this photograph taken . Approximately seven minutes. Im sorry. From the previous photograph . Im sorry. Approximately three minutes. So we know the moment where he stopped moving, he has roughly 20 24 58. Correct, so the time is bowen . About how long . Roughly two minutes . Yeah, two minutes. 1046 portrays a time after mr. Floyd appeared to have stopped moving . Correct. Are you able to tell from the video when the paramedics arrived . Yes, sir. I would like to go back to 127, then, advance to 20 27 20. Here the record should reflect were at 20 27 17. Thats close enough. I asked to play about 20 seconds of that. Grab your mace our something, bro. Actually lets roll for about ten more seconds, please. What are you doing . Hes diydying. What are you doing . There we saw one of the paramedics walking up. So the taimestamp is 20 27 40. Im going to toggle back to exhibit 1047. Do you see the exhibit there . Do you see that . Yes, sir. Also at exhibit 1048. Do you see a timestamp there . Yes, sir. Do those two still photos depict a time after the paramedics arrived . Yes, sir. Based on your work on the case and review of the videos, is there a moment in exhibit 127 you can take that down is there a moment in exhibit 127 where you think you can see better the placement of officer chauvins right knee . I would ask to go back to 127 at 20 28 23. All right. 20 28 43. What i would like to have you do, agent reyerson, while were frozen on this moment, if you take the cursor and illustrate to the jurors where office chauvins right knee is. There. All right. And so what id like to do then, well move that, and have the video played go ahead. Okay. Well just stop the video there. Were you able to see there when he had his right knee on mr. Floyds back . Yes, sir. Your honor, to keep things moving, i think i will deal with that previous video at a separate time. Thats all i have. Thank you. May we just have one moment, sir . Sure. Well take a moment. As they take a moment before the crossexamination, cedric, let me start with you. This is a gentleman, lead investigator into the death of george floyd, what stood out to you there . Well, you know, were going to continue to see these types of questioning throughout the course of this interview. But this Seasoned Police officer, useofforce specialist, hes very clear and succinct about what his experiences are and have been, and is able to articulate to a court, which i stated, you know, that can be convincing. But whats going to be very challenging about this, brooke, and ive said this before, is hes going to go back and forth, back and forth between the defense and the prosecution, i suspect. Thats just me talking as a layperson, but ive been in trials like this before during my tenure over the years, but hes quite convincing. Hes very calm and hes very knowledgeable. But were going to continue to see strategies get played out here to a course that is in some type of way going to bring about question or some question to that of the of mr. Floyds death. Okay. Elie, to you. Brooke, what we saw was really important. The prosecution was setting the timeline for the key moments in this interaction using video, so its not going to be contestable. What they just established is that it took about four minutes from when george floyd was handcuffed behind his back on the street until he goes silent. And then theres another minute and a half passes while hes silent, while chauvins knee is on his neck, until hes not moving and then another three minutes passes until chauvin gets up and the paramedics arrive. Those minutes, when hes unresponsive, when hes silent and the knee is on the neck, that is the crux of the prosecutions case that we just saw. And they established, you remember yesterday, there was testimony that when the paramedics arrived the knee was on the back. They just established that was after, after the key moments we just talked about. So, as we wait to see im being told theyre back. Lets watch. Good afternoon, agent re reyerson. Good afternoon. You testified you were the primary case agent in this case. Yes, sir. And its fair to say that the bcas investigation into this case was fairly extensive, correct . Yes, sir. You would agree that approximately 50 bca agents were involved in this case in one form or another . Yes, sir. Those bca agents were frequently paired up with agents of the federal bureau of investigation or other Law Enforcement agencies . Thats correct. Would you agree that roughly 25, 26 fbi agents participated in your investigation . Yes, sir. Would you agree that ultimately all things told you the bca executed approximately a dozen search warrants in this case . Yes, sir. There was an extensive amount of information that was gathered by the bca, agreed . Yes, sir. A lot of that information is ultimately has no bearing on this case, agreed . Meaning interviews were conducted, for example, of people who didnt see anything. That did occur, however, i believe that, you know, our investigation was very thorough. Right. And thats what im trying to just gather. It was more than just watching a few minutes of video, piecing a couple of things together, interviewing a couple people, right . Yes, sir. In fact, i believe, and correct me if im wrong, that roughly 200 citizen witnesses were interviewed in this case . Yes, sir. And so when we break down and we look at those citizen witnesses, the purpose of any investigation is to gather as much information as is possible, right . Yes, sir. And to preserve that information for further review to determine at a later point if it does or doesnt become relevant to a criminal investigation, right . Yes. So, in terms of, say, the citizen witnesses, the bca agents interviewed many witnesses who did not observe they werent present, for example, correct . Yes.
