Twitter saying the retiring corker cooperate get elected dog catcher in tennessee. Its tough. Also calling him a lightweight. But then this happened. Corker unloads. Four times he encouraged me to run, told me he would endorse me. I dont know. Its amazing. Unfortunately i think World Leaders are very aware, much of what he says is untrue, and people here are because these things are provably untrue. Theyre factually incorrect and people know the difference. I dont know why he lowers himself to such a low, low standard and debases our country in the way that he does but he does. You know, look, i dont like responding. I you can let him go unanswered but and its just not me, we dont do tweets like that, weve responded twice to untruths, but its unfortunate our nation finds itself in this place. Is the president of the United States a liar . The with the has great difficulty with the truth. On many issues. Do you regret supporting him in the election . Lets put it this way i would not do that again. You wouldnt support him again . No. I think hes proven himself unable to rise to the occasion. I think many of us, me included, have, you know, tried to, you know, have intervened, had private dinner, you know, been with him on multiple occasions, to try to create some kind of aspirational approach to the way he conducts himself. I dont think that that is possible, and hes, obviously, not going to rise to the occasion as president. Do you think hes a role model to children in the United States . No. You dont . No. Absolutely not. I think that, you know, the things that are happening right now that are that are harmful to our nation, whether its the breaking down of were going to be doing some hearings on some of the things that he purposely is braeeaking down relationship around the world that have been useful to our nation, but at the end ftds of the day when his term is over i think the debasing of our nation, the constant nontruth telling, the just the name calling, the things, i think the basement of our nation, will be what he will be remembered most for and thats regretful. And it affects young people. We have young people who for the first time are, you know, watching a president stating, you know, absolute nontruths nonstop, personalizing things in the way he does and be its very sad for our nation. Really extraordinary interview with manu raju. Trump wanting again to have the last word tweeting again, calling corker then incompetent as the chair of the very powerful Senate ForeignRelations Committee and yes, all of this happened just this morning. Cnns Kaitlan Collins is at the white house for us. Kaitlan, so what exactly does this mean for the president s senate lunch plans . I dont think its very good things. Im not sure if i was a lawmaker if i would take a rain check for the lunch today. Weve seen the president firing back at corker after he said those very strong comments to my colleague manu raju. The president has actually been pretty quiet with of his criticism of corker on twitter in recent days, but after corker made those rounds on television this morning being highly critical of the president , the president has actually tweeted about him five times in the period of two hours with his most recent one the on the screen, senator corker is the incompetent head of the Foreign Relations committee and look how poorly the u. S. Has done. He doesnt have a clue as the entire world was laughing and taking advantage of us. People like Liddle Bob Corker have sent the u. S. Way back. Now we move forward. The press secretary Sarah Sanders did an interview on the north lawn of the white house earlier this morning and she was asked if she thinks this feud between the president and a very prominent member of his own party would affect that lunch today. Heres what she had to say about that. I think if bob corker is suggesting leaving it to the professionals, and hes referring to himself, weve left it to him long enough, and hes been ineffective and now i think we need to, you know, let the president take the lead on this front, working with leader mcconnell and others, that really want to see some productive change. Reporter now kate, its hard not to see how this feud wont overshadow this lunch today, a lunch many republicans were hoping would be focused on getting some progress on tax reform because this is a party thats desperate for a legislative achievement, but it looks like right now the focus will be on the tension between the president and bob corker. Dont know how it couldnt be. Great to see you, kaitlan, thank you so much. Lets head over to capitol hill. Manu raju joining me now. It was Pretty Amazing moment there that you had with bob corker. There are been a lot of shocking moments in this relationship between bob corker and donald trump since this started but this seems to reach a new level with your interview . Yeah. No question about it. And whats also remarkable, kate, is that corker and trump had a pretty close relationship for some time. Corkers probably one of trumps closest allies on capitol hill. They played golf together, they were on the phone a lot, corker was considered secretary of state, at one point was also considered as his Vice President ial running mate. He had an interview with him during the campaign season. This has deteriorated starting with corkers criticism in august of the president s handling of the deadly violence following that white supremacist rally in charlottesville and the president firing back against bob corker. They seemed to smooth things over for some time, but escalating after corker said that the country could lead to chaos if it werent for tillerson and werent for mattis, werent for john kelly in the administration. That really set the president off. What really set corker off was trumps continuing insistence that corker would not have run for reelection if he he would have run for reelection if the president would have endorsed him. The fact of the matter according to corker and other people ive spoken to is the president did offer senator corker an endorsement on multiple occasions and said he would stumpf with him if he decided to run for the election and at one point kate, urged him to run again for reelection. So now that the president today again tweeting that bob corker wasnt going to win his reelection and wouldnt have gotten his endorsement set off corker this morning when i talked to him and asked him, was that accurate. No. Is the president a liar. Said he speaks untruths. Essentially was calling the president a liar. Let alone all the other criticisms about whether or not the president is a role model to children, as well as whether or not the president could be trusted with the nuclear codes. A remarkable moment but he has more freedom because hes retiring and not hearing a lot of other republican senators echo this publicly even if some may have similar views privately, kate. Heres the thing, making sure its not lost in this, manu, even though donald trump says bob corker is working against their tax reform efforts, theres no suggestion that that is actually the case. That paul ryan said today that bob corker is going to vote for tax reform. So lets make sure thats not lost in what has clearly become, i dont know what this is anymore. Great to see you. Amazing reporting. Thank you. Joining me to discuss, political director david chalian, chris cillizza, editor at large i have major beef with, which i will unload, im going to unload corker style on you, mya mcginnis, president of the federal Watchdog Group committee for responsible federal budget. Everything that you stand for right now, mya, i dont know, responsibility, federal budget, i mean, lets get to all of it. David, first to you, lets sum up the morning, the president said for a cumbayah rally with republican senators on capitol hill, bob corker criticizes him and then trump counter punches. And now we are watching like a Political Nuclear war all almost before folks have finished breakfast. Right . Yeah. Kate, its this is truly stunning. I know weve spent the last nine months talking about the unprecedented nature of everything that has been going on in the Trump Presidency and that is certainly a deserved nickname for the presidency, but this is a senior statesman in the president s own party, who has just declared the Trump Presidency a failure. Thats basically what hes doing. He has said now the president is unable to rise to the position and unlike in august when he was calling for radical change in the white house and the hope and wish for the president to be successful theres none of that here now. Bob corker in the interview with manu has drawn a conclusion that President Trump is incapable of rising to the occasion and that begs the question, you have a senior statesman in the Republican Party who believes that, and who is overseeing from the legislative branch americas Foreign Policy believes that president is unable to do his job and they got to Work Together for the next 14 months or whatever is left in bob corkers term. Yeah. I mean everyone, chris, everyone says bob corker is retiring, that frees him up, he has a long time left to go, a lot of work to do still in the senate. I mean now the gloves of this move the gloves are off, lit on fire and thrown out the window between these two. What does this mean for these guys getting anything done together . At this point with the retirement announcement, trump feeds corker more than corker needs trump. I dont think trump acknowledges he ever needs anyone, but he does. Youre right, corkers still got more than a year left on his term but nothing nothing trump can do to him when hes not running for reelection. If corker was running again trump could absolutely as weve seen him do with jeff flake in arizona, yam tate for a primary challenge, weaken his standing. Bob corker is looking out for his leg sgasy. What david hit on is remarkable. You are essentially hearing a republican senator say, Donald Trumps legacy is cemented and that legacy is one of debasement of our country. I mean, im not sure you would hear Chuck Schumer the leader of democrats go that far. I think the thing that we always had to be mindful of, though, is this is a retiring senator. As we talked about, he doesnt have all that much to lose other than jeff flake, now in trouble, electorally for his comments, weve not seen a lot of other folks come out. Roger wicker was from mississippi, was on our air earlier today. Yeah. And criticized corker not trump over this back and forth. Yeah. I mean, im not even going to open the possibility of is this a floodgate moment. Not even that. Im just talking about getting stuff done today, their priorities today, what that means for the relationship today. I mean, mya, bob corker is one of the few republicans who has been speaking up, calling on republicans to stick with what has long been republican principles of holding back on spending, revenue neutral tax reform, is he now the odd man out in this new push . Well, thats absolutely right. He is one of the few voices thats kind of reminding the principles of fiscal responsibility and so this backdrop of the loss of civility is all occurring at the same time theres a real deterioration in the policy thats going on. And so we think about whats happening, House Republicans who have called for years and years for a balanced budget that controls spending and gets the debt under control are on the verge of passing a budget that doesnt balance, that out of 47 trillion in spending, aspires to save 1 billion, and that adds to the national debt. Its a joke. It is a laugh line. And theyre about to accept that which means they will be walking away from the mantle of fiscal responsibility. Senator corker said we can look forward and look at tax reform and figure out how to make it progrowth and dont exaggerate that growth and pass something that doesnt add to the debt. We need other members of congress who remembers those are the kinds of principles they aspire to run for offices because of, and actually call for fiscal responsibility and progrowth tax reform instead of massively adding to the debt. I dont think senator corker will let Something Like this get in the way of his supporting a tax reform bill thats good or opposing one thats not, but its distracting from policy making which really has important things that we have to be grappling with. How to papay for this tax bill big challenges that we should be able to Work Together on and succeed at. Or even what this tax bill is or even how they define the middle class in this tax bill. I mean, david, literally, what happens at this lunch today now . Would you not love to be a fly on the wall inside the conference . Even on a boring day i wish i could find my way in. Today i might i might pay people off. Its hard to imagine that the spat with corker is not going to be front of mind for everyone, and i shouldnt call it a spat because chriss point earlier about the other republicans on this and citing wicker, look at what speaker ryan said oh, they should put this twitter spat behind them. They want to lessen the impact. This isnt just some twitter spat. As were talking about this is a hugely significant i almost think it was more like paul ryan begging us to stop focusing on twitter like if you all if you all could please stop looking at twitter. Joked the other night at the dinner in new york he has to choose which tweets in the morning to ignore i am sure these are some of those tweets. Exactly right. But does this set a new, i dont know, chris, a new bar for republicans . No. To answer questions to . Not necessarily im saying to answer questions to . Will every senator coming out of that luncheon be asked by reporters did donald trump and bob corker talk, were their comments brought up, do you agree with senator corker, they absolutely will. Im still very skeptical what a retiring senator, albeit an influential one with an important job to do on taxes, Foreign Policy over the next year, whether his comments will trigger some sort of landslide or even a Smaller Group of senators to speak out, im just if you havent by now, its not as though this is new. Yes, this is escalating it to another level in terms of trump and corker, but Donald Trumps willingness to take the low road in virtually every situation, 24 hours ago we were talking about his calling into question the recounting of a phone call by a widow of an american soldier killed in action and saying well the way she remembered it isnt the way it was. I mean, this is this is new for today, this is not new for trump. It is hard for me to believe that republican senators will say oh, thats it. This is the one thing that i cant take. This latest feud with bob corker. If they havent jumped off the wagon by now, i kind of think theyre in it through 2018. Well, again, they want to get something done, what this means, though, to getting something done, when these are the relationships that are playing out on the hill, thats where the conversation goes. Because mya will tell you and well have you back on, tax reform, its so easy, thats why they havent done it in three decades. Great to see you guys. Thanks, kate. Thank you so much. All right. Coming up from us, we could hear from President Trump any moment now at an awards ceremony in the oval office ahead of the lunch on capitol hill. Were going to bring you that as soon as it happens. Plus this, a new timeline is emerging on the ambush that killed four americans in niger. Many questions remaining, including why it took why was there an hour lapse before the u. S. Soldiers called in for air support. What could that mean . Details ahead. I had frequent heartburn, but my doctor recommended. Prilosec otc 7 years ago, 5 years ago, last week. Just 1 pill each morning, 24 hours and zero heartburn. Its been the number 1 doctor recommended brand for 10. Straight years, and its still recommended today. Use as directed. Hes brought us to the obstructed justice at the fbi. And in direct violation of the constitution, hes taken money from foreign governments and threatened to shut down news organizations that report the truth. If that isnt a case for impeaching and removing a dangerous president , then what has our government become . Im tom steyer and, like you, im a citizen who knows its up to us to do something. Its why im funding this effort to raise our voices together and demand that elected officials take a stand on impeachment. A Republican Congress once impeached a president for far less. Yet, today, people in congress and his own administration know this president is a clear and present danger who is mentally unstable and armed with nuclear weapons. And they do nothing. Join us and tell your member of congress that they have a moral responsibility to stop doing whats political and start doing whats right. Our country depends on it. More questions than answers, something the joint chiefs chairman acknowledges right now about what happened in niger that left four american soldiers dead in an isis ambush three weeks ago. Key questions like why Sergeant La David Johnson was separated from his unit and took 48 hours to recover his body. But despite all of the questions there are new and important details that are emerging coming from the joint chiefs chairman himself general joseph dunford. Ryan, what is the new timeline lay it out for us that the general discussed yesterday . In a rare appearance by general dunford in only his third this year he laid out some of the new details regarding the timeline of the attack and one of the things that we learned was that once the u. S. Military troops came under attack by 50 isis fighters, it took them an hour before they called in air support and it took another hour for french mirage jets to arrive. During that time, as u. S. Drone was able to fly overhead and provide some visual intelligence of what was going on, something thats being studied as part of the investigation to exactly what happened, but it took almost two hours from when the attack happened for any air support to arrive and support these troops. But general dunford did not provide much Additional Information as to what actually happened during the battle, saying that its likely that the forces on the ground felt they could handle the situation before calling in air support but how Sergeant Johnson was separated from the rest of his group, how his body went missing for nearly 48 hours, and how 50 isis fighters were able to assemble and attack this group, is some something that the investigation will have to find out. Absolutely. And there will be a briefing, pentagon briefing key committees on the hill on this later this week. A lot more to come. Ryan, thank you so much. Joining me now to discuss this, retired Army Brigadier general mark kimmette for military fares under president george w. Bush and Elliott Ackerman former marine that deployed to iraq and afghanistan now a Cnn National Security analyst. Great to see both of you. Thank you so much. Sure. General that was an important update that came from the joint chiefs chairman yesterday and clearly he acknowledged himself there are a lot of questions that remain, but what stands out to you about what theyve row leased so far about this released so far about this incident. What stands out more than anything else is, an understanding that when we put soldiers into these rogue, remote operations, very sensitive operations, they probably will not and should not have a significant amount of air support, drone support, that layering of support that is typically associated with some of our large conventional forces. Yeah. I mean elliott, you served five tours with the marines in iraq and afghanistan. The fact that an hour went by before they called in air support, an hour, must feel like a lifetime in a fire fight. What does that suggest to you . Well im sure that it did financial feel like a lifetime but, you know, even in places like afghanistan, i wouldnt say an hour go before but a half hour before you would see air support on station, in a country more heavily resourced than i imagine the operation in niger was. Resources arent infinite and prior to this, you know, i could definitely imagine you could see where there just wasnt the coverage in the region. And general, what questions do you think need to be answered next . There are so many. What do you expect should be cleared up next . Well, look, the types of investigations that are done in cases such as this are broad and comprehensive. You heard yesterday in the news conference, there were dozens of questions asked, many of the questions that were asked were asked by general dunford himself saying these will be what were going to investigate. So, the actual mission, the rules of engagement, the types of support that they felt they needed, those are important, but even more important, does this indicate that isis is now starting to find those weak spots in our military operations overseas and starting to get away from the caliphate and more towards the smallscale, very lethal types of operations. Thats probably the most important thing i would want to know. That is a bigger, broader question and the impact on our military. Elliott, one of the questions that still doesnt have an answer of the many is the force is if the forces conducting the evacuation did a head count as they were pulling out, does that surprise you they dont know that yet . I would imagine they certainly did do a head count but, you know, in the chaos of that situation, and depending on the way the forces were exfill rated they might have been exfiltrated in waves and sometimes it can be difficult in the heat of Something Like that, a fire fight of that intensity, to get ground truth on if you absolutely have everybody. Because thats what dunford said is, he knows what procedure is. They dont know exactly yet the detail in terms of who counted. If they didnt do a head count thats coming up because one, Sergeant La David Johnson was missing for 48 hours, was missing for quite some time, if they didnt do a head count what would that suggest . Well, i cant imagine any situation under which they wouldnt do a head count. I have theyve been on the ground for hours now, several soldiers are dead, i would imagine theyre isolated in groups of people, different groups of soldiers that have been fighting these al qaeda ambushers, and so you might get a head count and there might have been 100 people on the patrol and youre with an isolated group of 25, and so its difficult to know exactly where all 100 are. These are the types of things and the types of really granular details i imagine will start to come out in this investigation. Yeah. General, republicans on capitol hill theyve said theyre frustrated they arent getting the information they think re deserved in their oversight capacity in a timely planner. Can you talk about the push and pull needed to conduct a thorough investigation like you talked about on a complex situation and also the need to keep the congress and the public informed at the same time . Well, youre right. There is going to be a lot of push pull and unfortunately this particular incident has been so heavily politicized, i think when we take a step back and understand that theres a tension happening between the needs of the family which is first and foremost, and the needs of the military to make sure that any investigation is done and as important, tactics, techniques and procedures, are carefully maintained and not revealed, and also the americans right to know. Unfortunately between those three requirements when you throw in the additional issue of a significant politization of this situation it doesnt help the overall situation. Yes, the senate has a responsibility and a right to know whats going on, however i think its as important to understand we must keep not only this situation properly investigated but ensure that security is maintained so that we dont reveal issues that might cause this to happen again and, of course, the needs of the family which are first and paramount, particularly the right for privacy. Keeping that in mind is paramount especially in light of how things have played out. General always great to see you, elliott, thank you for coming in. Welcome to cnn. Thank you. Thank you, guys. Im not going to speak to that. The ballot box is where that happens. You said the president has debased the country. Can you explain a little bit more . Look, i think standing up in front of the American People and. [ no audio ] attempted bullying that he does, which everybody sees through, just the dividing of our country, the, you know, the name calling, just, you know, for young people to be watching, not only here in our country but around the world, someone of this [ no audio ] mentality or as president of the United States is something that is i think debasing to our country and, you know, its you know, you would think he would aspire to be the president of the United States and act like a president of the United States, but, you know, thats just not going to be the case apparently and, you know, its its up to others who serve in an elective capacity whether governors, mayors, or senators, to conduct themselves in a manner that is more becoming of a leader. But hes, obviously, you know, not up to that. You know, look, ive had private meetings with him, dinners with him, ive played golf with him, ive had, you know, multiple occasions where the staff has asked me to please intervene, hes getting ready to do something that was off the tracks, and look, i ive seen no evolution in an upward way. As a matter of fact, i would say it appears to me that its almost devofrling. Look, everybody has their own opinion about that and, you know, im here to serve for another 14 you dont think hes fit to be president . Why arent more of your colleagues speaking out the way you are . Ive been very independent, i think the whole time ive been up here and i probably have a unique relationship. Ive gotten to know him in a different way that a lot of senators have, just through this last year, and i, you know, also, you know, told the people of tennessee that i was going to run for two terms and, you know, so, you know, it gives you a sense of independence, i think, and just the, you know, i was in a pretty tough business, you know, started when i was 25 and ive been around people that, you know, have the mentalities of our current president and, you know, have, through life, just learned how you deal with it. Senator, is senator is he any chance in repairing your relationship with the president . Whats that . Do you have an important relationship how do you feel about sanctions the russian sanctions . Q. A check on him for the next year . How do you feel about the delay in the i cant hear, so many questions at once. Ill see you all at lunch. The president all right. Bullying, name calling, dividing the country, hes not evolving, its more like hes almost devolving, that is the latest just now from republican senator bob corker leaving his Office Getting ready to head over to the senate lunch where President Trump is set to head to meet with republican senators to rally around tax reform. Again lets see what that lunch looks like now. This all examines ahead of a crucial vote in the house as they move toward their tax reform efforts, crucial vote in the house happens later this week to make all this happen. Lets go there. Republican congressman Adam Kissinger of Illinois Joining me from capitol hill. Congressman, great it see you. You too. I dont know if youre going to say its great to see me. Great to see you. Yet to be seen. Whats your reaction between bob corker and President Trump. Its nothing like a good republican food fight in front of the nation and world right there. You know, look, i wish both sides, i have a lot of respect for bob corker, hes now outspoken, though, that hes not running for reelection, and with the president , look a good friend of mine said once, you know, in politics or leadership you can punch across or punch up, never punch down, and for the president to tweet against a senator and just like this rant, i think is wrong theres not many in the republican like of my Republican Base and my supporters, say that the president should keep tweeting. A lot say i wish he would tone down some of the personal stuff. Im in the same boat. This isnt helpful for tax reform, its not helpful for our reputation in the world and especially as, you know, bob corker is the head of the Senate ForeignRelations Committee those are some big issues coming in front of him. Yeah. Bob corker basically saying you say this is not helpful for reputation before the world, bob corker making the case this morning that the president is not good for the nations reputation before the world. He told manu raju this morning that the president has great difficulty with the truth. Hes calling the president a liar. I mean, is he right . Do you agree he has great difficulty with the truth . Well, i think theres, obviously, some times when he says things that are untruthful, that happens everywhere in politics. I dont want to necessarily get into the middle of this corker versus trump fight because i think frankly its not good not just for our party, but for the country. When its all said and done i think the president is doing a lot of good things internationally and i think some of the unpredictability on twitter with like north korea and iran is actually beneficial because its kind of this idea that we dont know where the president is going to go or what hes going to do and i think there is some benefit to that. Again, corker senator corker is being outspoken now hes not running for reelection and both sides should just take a big chill pill and deep breath and move on and do the business of the nation. Thats what i wish. But every morning is something different. I hear you. But as you say, he youre making the case that i have he a heard from a lot of folks he is free to speak his mind because he is not looking toward reelection. Do you think that a do you as he said, do you think a lot of folks believe the same arent saying it, because they need to get reelected . I dont know. So like with senator corker, for instance, i disagree with him when he says trumps leading us to world war iii. I think thats way overly dramatic and i think the president has great people around him that are kind of tempering his whatever he would do internationally, giving him good advice. I dont think hes like unstable and everybody is sitting around going oh, hes unstable we cant say it because were running for reelection. Where we agree and i think we need to be more outspoken is the president needs to lay off some of the emotion on twitter because again, hes the leader of the free world and sometimes you have to rise above the kind of petty politics of the moment. We will look back in ten years a lot of debates were having out here wont matter. What matters is what does the country look like, our kids and grand kids believe america is and when they watch television and all they see is people down talking america or saying were not what we used to be or somebody is a dummy face, i mean thats bad. Thats bad for our politics. Theres the quote of the day. But corker has gone a step further today in rather than just criticizing, i mean he has declared essentially in saying i think he has proven himself uncapable of to rise to the occasion, said it in a couple ways, hes concluded the president s term, the presidency a failure. Do you see it that way . No. And this is, again, where i have massive disagreements with senator corker. I think hes a Good American and done a lot of good work but ive seen the president rise to a lot of occasions. When it comes to the chemical weapons attack in syria for him to give the very emotional speech he did about the kids that were suffocating to death from Bashar Al Assads brutality and strike that airfield hes risen to the occasion on isis, a lot of things i dont agree from the twitter perspective but i have seen him in really tough times rise to the occasion and i think he has it in him. Look, i would love to see the president tone down twitter, but bob corker i think is going a little too far out there talking about world war iii, failed presidency, et cetera. I dont quite understand where hes coming from with that. Lets talk about this and the context of the here and now. Do you think this offers a good omen for tax reform . I hope no, this isnt a good omen, but i think we can get tax reform done. This is something that look, we understand what the failure to repeal and replace obamacare, weve got to achieve something, this is one of the big tenants we have, and look for congress, the most basic thing we can do is tax and spend. Were pretty good at spending but a tax code from the last millennium when nobody owned computers. To bring it to where it is today i think we can get it done, i would hate to be on the other side of the aisle defending the tax code from 1986. Well, dont 1896 was a good year. It was. Let me ask you this, though, the president had a Conference Call with yall on sunday to talk about this, and all the reporting coming from the call was that the president said basically this is political survival because of the failure on repeal and replace. You need to pass this tax reform effort or the majorities are on the line. This is what 2018 is all about. Do you think thats the case . I think there is some accuracy to that, absolutely. Were not doing this for the politics, but we do recognize that, you know, if we come in this and were batting 0 for 2 at the end of this year its going to be hard for members of the house of representatives or the senate to go in front of their voters and say, hey, reelect me so that we can go 0 for 2 next year why. Thats why this is extremely important. Following through on our promises. Weve done a lot of good things this year but the big kind of headline grabbing stuff. The big stuff. The big stuff hasnt happened. And so yeah, i think we need to get this done. Just on that point, just a broadly, one of the things im having a hard time wrapping my mind around a Republican Party who has championed spending restraint, balanced budgets, revenue neutral tax reform is now becoming it seems very ready to support more debt, and revenue neutral nothing when it comes to your tax efforts . Whats changed . Yeah. I dont disagree with you in terms of thats what weve been fighting for and in this process were going to champion that as well. We dont have the full details if we end up with a fourth or fifth tax bracket with the folks above a million that will cut down, the issue of state and local tax deductibility theres a lot still in flux on this, weve seen the skeltsal outlines, once we have all the meat on the bones which will happen this week or next we will be able to analyze this. Former fox news star bill oreilly fighting back again against claims of Sexual Harassment and now he is blaming a higher power. Listen to this. Am i mad at god . Yeah, im mad at him. I wish i had more protection. I wish this stuff didnt happen. I cant explain it to you. Yeah. Im mad at him. If i die tomorrow and i get an opportunity, ill say, why did you guys work me over like that . Didnt you know my children were going to be punished and theyre innocent . This after oreilly according to the New York Times paid a 32 million settlement over Sexual Harassment. Oreilly denies any wrongdoing in the matter. Brian stelter back with me host of reliable sources. Brian, right now, it seems very clear if it was even a question bill oreilly will not be going quietly on this. He believes he is the victim and says he has prove this is a hit job but hasnt really ever provided that proof, however. I am struck what he was saying to his audience on this podcast trying to tell his audience he is the victim here, the people are out to get him. Its really telling when he brings up his children, when he says his family has been brought into this. Im not here to give advice to bill oreilly, maybe instead of looking upward to god he should look inward in what happened in his career and why these women came forward with allegations of harassment, not just lis weill, but in 2004, a public case with an employee back then and cases in between. An interesting comment oreilly made to glen beck on the radio as well. He was saying hes frustrated like glen beck is. Heres what he said. Imagine me sitting here, all right, being accused of everything under the sun, and the end game is lets link oreilly with Harvey Weinstein and make him that. Thats what we want to do. So we take him out of the marketplace forever. He never gets to give his opinion on issues. We take him out because we hate him and the New York Times, obviously, hates him. Thats the story, not that the New York Times hates him. To kill his career. Up until last week he was in various talks with various networks. Small fox rivals that might want to hire him. I dont know if those talks were real, but he sure thought they were. He had hopes for a comeback. Those hopes seemed lower today. Still, there are multimillion dollar settlements that he still needs he would have to do a me mea culpa. I spoke can chris and he said america is very for gwen ifill. If anybody can have a comeback, its bill oreilly. Coming up for us, very big day for the latest version of President Trumps travel ban, actually.
