Tonight in some key swing states that show a tightening race. Thats a big might. It hasnt been determined 100 the president or his campaign will actually do that. The president was just talking to reporters. He said thats not the case. Were not going to that. In almost the same breath he said, on Election Night we will send in lawyers. They are saying the quiet part out loud. If the president loses this election in a tight, tight vote count, they will try to fight this out in the courts. Thats the way its shaping up. The president doesnt get to decide who wins. Thats up to election authorities. What did the president talkt . Was it the traditional stuff . Did he change his delivery . It was ugly again today. This is an ugly closing message from President Trump. He was hitting some of the same themes we have seen throughout the final stages of the campaign. He was essentially trying to demonize immigrants all day long. Referring to president obama as Barack Hussein obama. Talking about a congresswoman from minnesota. At one point at the rally that wrapped up in north carolina, hehe recited the words from the racist song the snake. He is playing revisionist history on the coronavirus pandemic and claiming once again that this country is rounding the turn in terms of ending the pandemic when we know thats not the case. Look at this crowd here tonight. People are not taking precautions. They are not Wearing Masks and not social distancing. This pandemic is going to get worse because of the rallies. Tomorrow, its another big day that ends in grand rapids, michigan, where he ended his campaign four years ago. The president feels as though i talked to an advisor about this the big rallies that bring in lots of supporters is motivating turnout, its getting people to the polls. They are banking on that strategy working again. I was with the president four years ago. He is hitting red states very late in this campaign. When he is going to rome, georgia, two days before the election, that goes to what im hearing from people close to the campaign that the president is in a lot of trouble 48 hours before Election Night. They want to make it unequivocal they have won the election. Joe biden was asked about this earlier on the trail today. Here is what he had to say. My response is the president is not going to steal this election. Kamala harris also talked a little bit about this on the campaign trail today. She said that they plan to decisively win this election. It is not going to get to this point. They all know and the campaign knows that they really the goal here is to win in an overwhelming way. Biden was in pennsylvania all day today. A sign of how important it is to both campaigns, frankly. I understand the full ticket plus spouses will be there tomorrow. Is that a sign of optimism about the state . Or deep concern . I think the campaign would tell you, they are not taking anything for granted. Anderson, if you look at the map, pennsylvania is so critical. If they can take that away from President Trump, it all but ends his panel tth to reelection. Thats one piece. The other piece as we were talking about, they want to win here overwhelmingly. They dont want this going to the courts. There have been lawsuits in pennsylvania. You have been covering this. We have been covering the issues leading up to voting here in pennsylvania. The Biden Campaign really wants to make sure turnout is high, that they are able to claim victory here without any question about it and not having to go to the courts about it. A Campaign Member saying, pennsylvania looks like the coalition they are seeking to build across the country. Its White Working Class voters, suburban women, union households, people that voted for trump in 2016 that they are hoping to bring back to the democratic ticket. They will give pointed messages right at the certain demographics trying to increase the turnout to build the coalition and win here. The Biden Campaign, they have been adding last minute stops. Whats the strategy behind that . Some of this is trying to get back to some sort of traditional campaigning. I think we all know Vice President biden loves to interact with people. These are small where he stops by a Voter Mobilization event or canvassing office. He can just kind of talk to voters for a second socially distanced. What is interesting is they did add a stop in ohio tomorrow. Thats a state i talked to local democrats in ohio, they are bullish on ohio for biden. They think there are things that make it winnable for him. A shift in suburban voters. They point to browns win there in 2018. Biden can similarly. To see them go back in, to see biden go back into ohio tomorrow should tell you a lot. Texas, where the state Supreme Court ruled ballots cast at drivethrough locations in and around houston, its a lot of votes at stake. Its not the final word. Ed, what happened today . How did the state Supreme Court, comprised of republican justices who were elected, how did they rule on this . The texas Supreme Court for the second time in this case has ruled in favor of the votes counting. Ruling against the republican effort to basically invalidate the 127,000 votes that were cast in a location like this just to give you an idea. This is one of ten locations in Harris County thats a drivethru location. Voters drove into a tent and it will serve as a polling location. The computers and ballot boxes will be here. They will be put into peoples cars. There are ten locations set up around Harris County. 127,000 people used these drivethru voting locations in the early Voting Period out of the 1. 4 million that voted. We are looking at these votes of 127,000 as 10 that used these dri drivethru locations. Its fascinating to see that. For a lot of people have not seen Something Like that before. They had approval in advance to do these drivein locations, correct . This isnt as if this is some rogue operation they set up and thats why its being challenged by republicans. Right. The Harris County clerk and office here set up a Pilot Program of the drivethru voting for a primary runoff in july. This had been done before. What critics or what the republicans are saying is that they didnt expect it to be used at this scale. This is just one fleet of tents here. There are about 30 spots in all where cars can come in here to the parking lot of Energy Stadium where the Houston Texans play football to use these sites. We should point out that this legal battle is not over yet. These same republicans are also trying in the federal court system and theres an emergency hearing scheduled for monday morning to determine what will happen with these 127,000 votes. They are encouraged by the way the courts have ruled. Two attempts to invalidate the votes, that hasnt happened. They are fighting. The republican lawyers have told us that they plan on taking this to the Supreme Court if it needs to go that far. Here just a couple of nights before election day, these legal battles still rage on here in texas and in Harris County. Despite the court rulings, its not over. They will challenge it in federal court. I talked to beto orourke. He said even if this gets approved that perhaps one of the strategies is to bring confusion, make people who voted question whether those votes will count, confuse people about is drivein voting okay. Are these drivein locations still in use . Will they be in use on election day . They will. These ten locations will be operating on election day. Essentially, they are connected to more if you will traditional voting locations. This is just an option for those people who dont want to stand in lines, or if they are fearful of exposure to people in these lines. What is interesting also in all of this there have been allegations. A lot of the critics of the republican efforts here have been saying, yes, a lot is to sow confusion in what is happening. But we should point out that there has been very little word from the Top Republicans in the state, governor, lieutenant governor. There have been only been a handful of republicans who have criticized this effort. One was a state lawmaker in the houston area who said that this effort was absurd and harmful. The final polls in swing states we mentioned earlier who is gaining ground, who is losing it and later tonight, new developments in the biden bus incident. We have a slew of new, perhaps final polling to look at. What does it say about the pathway . Lets start with the baseline. This was the map that gave donald trump the presidency. With the exception of maybe nevada, Donald Trumps road to reelection runs through this map. That means going back through the midwest and rust belt and for joe biden, looking at the sun belt. Lets look at some of the latest polls. First, New York Times polling out today. Biden with a narrow lead in florida, inside the margin of error. Six point lead in pennsylvania and larger in wisconsin. Those polls making democrats happy and largely track with what we have seen. Washington post and abc show trump in a lead in florida. A lead for joe biden in pennsylvania. What does this mean . First, lets do something thats very important. Take a poll of polls. Not just individual polls. Here is the poll of polls. Joe biden with a narrow lead in the state of florida. A narrow lead in arizona. Wisconsin, about ten. Pennsylvania, about six. Mostly tracking with what we saw over the course of today. What does this mean about the paths forward and where they stand . The reality for joe biden is the same this campaign. You win three states in particular, you reestablish that blue wall and watch this number. You win pennsylvania, you win michigan, you win mississippi and joe biden is president. This also underscores why the Trump Campaign is so phone focu pennsylvania. What happens if you keep pennsylvania, even if you lose michigan and wisconsin and keep pennsylvania and the states down in the southeast and southwest . You are above 270 electoral votes if you are the Trump Campaign. That is where the other polls i was talking about start coming into play. If arizona is in play, like democrats believe it is right now, if north carolina, which is very much a tossup race, if florida, which is a tossup race, and if georgia are all in play for democrats, that means joe biden has several pathways, a number that President Trump doesnt have. Trump campaign is confident they can hold onto those. We will see what happens. All eyes on the midwest. There will be states that most likely will not be called on Election Night. What are campaigns watching . Lets start with the baseline. Votes might be counted after Election Night is not unusual or to say anything unruly is happening. President trump might want to flash back to 2016 where michigan wasnt called until two or three weeks after the election. We know pennsylvania is likely going to be slow. Maybe thats not a leading indicator about where the night will go. Same in michigan. However, that doesnt mean you are not going to know or have a sense of where things are headed over the course of the night. The state of florida, it counts fast. It knows what it is doing. The etch pexpectation, results Election Night. Should have a decent number of early results from georgia, also arizona. If you want to know a leading caught indicator, keep an eye on ohio. We knew that these the battlegrounds are battleground states for a reason. Because they are close. I would much sooner be biden than trump right now. He has two of the three look out of reach, wisconsin and michigan, look very strong. They have had a consistent lead for biden outside the margin of error. I think pennsylvania, democrats there feel good about it as well. Everything else is kind of gravy. They would like to end this early, win one of the southern states, florida, look good in georgia, north carolina, maybe arizona and make it very clear on Election Night to avoid the antics that you referred to. Right now, they feel good about where they are. I think the trump people understand that they need to pull another inside straight. Looking at the new polls, you say this is likely to come down to arizona and pennsylvania. Can you explain . Essentially, if you look at the polling averages, what you see is what david was explaining. Joe biden at this point, pretty much has the Hillary Clinton states in his corner. Add in michigan and wisconsin, then you just need to find another 12 electioral votes. Arizona plus nebraska nebraska allocates its electoral votes. If you win arizona plus nebraska, that gets you to 270. Or if you win in pennsylvania, that obviously gets you way past 270. Those are the two states that i would call the Tipping Point states, states that could put biden over the top. Thats why im watching those two particular states. Gloria, the new cnn reporting that the campaign is prepared to declare victory on Election Night, the Trump Campaign, if the president is even close to 270. The president is disputing it. But is also saying, we will look at what happens. They just talked about sending in the lawyers. He said, we will send in the lawyers in pennsylvania. I think we just never had an american president that attacks american democracy like donald trump. This is someone who is saying the election is rigged before all the votes are cast and counted. It is because should he lose, he needs to have something to blame. That would be a rigged election. Im not saying that either of these candidates are likely to concede anything on Election Night. We remember bush gore. Gore conceded and then he had to take it back. Thats not going to happen on tuesday night or wednesday. The notion that a president of the United States says out loud that he would declare victory even if he doesnt have all the votes counted and even if we havent called States States are not clear, the outcome is not clear, its quite remarkable to me that he can just say, well, you know, im going to declare victory and the lawyers will figure the rest out. David, if he declares victory before the race is called, he is essentially laying groundwork to say that the election was taken from him if it is then called for biden. Lets break it down. Its pennsylvania he has his eye on, because there are millions of ballots that have been cast early. They have come in apparently, if you look at party affiliation, three in one in favor of biden. Twothirds of the state will vote on election day. They will probably tilt toward trump. He will hold up those returns. If he hangs on to florida and north carolina, georgia, he will say, im on my way to victory. The only way this is what he has been telling the crowds as he goes along in pennsylvania, he says the only way we can lose this is if they steal it with fraudulent ballots. They arent fraudulent. The republican legislatingtgisl pennsylvania forbade officials from counting the ballot early like some of the other states, florida and other states are doing. I think its for the etxpress purpose of creating doubt and giving the president that opportunity to besmirch the process and claim there was something wrong with it. Saying, your votes dont count because my lawyers say you couldnt drop off your ballot at a voting box while you were in your car. Your votes dont count. Lets see how that goes over. Thats what they were trying to do in texas. They are still trying to do it. Those are more than 100,0 0e thoush0,000 votes. Trump is leading biden in iowa. Its giving trump backers hope. Do they think whatever is behind the numbers might not be limited to just iowa . Thats essentially it. Joe biden doesnt need iowa to win the presidency. Its because iowa is right below wisconsin and maybe if he is doing so well in iowa, donald trump, then he can win in wisconsin. The fact of the matter is, this is one poll. This is one poll. We have a slew of other polling data that suggests joe biden is in a strong position in wisconsin. You saw that in times poll. I talked to Rick Santorum who said the poll is the gold standard. It was the only poll that saw how his race was how his campaign was doing when he was running. Sure. No one will take that away. Polls have margins of error for a reason. Go back to 2018, they had the democratic candidate winning for governor. The republican won. So look, polls have margins of error. The New York Times poll is great. There are a lot of great polls. Thats why we took an average. I know i said this to you yesterday, im amazed at your knowledge. I think like if i asked you to, you could go back and give me poll results going back 60 years. After the fbi announced an investigation earlier today into a confrontation instigated by Trump Supporters against biden supporters aboard a campaign bus in texas. That bus was headed to an event when a mass of pickup trucks surrounded it on the highway. Democrats said the trucks swarmed the bus forcing it to slow down. Local Law Enforcement had to assist the bus to its destination. President trump tweeted a video of the encounter with the words, i love texas. What more do we know . The fbi is aware of it, looking into it. This is precisely what authorities coast to coast have been worried about. Here is what we know. Took off from san antonio headed to austin. Theres indication this was not a random encounter but coordinated to say this bus is coming this way. The people on board the bus say the Trump Supporters were yelling profanities at them. They believe they were trying to run the bus off the road or bring it to a stop. Yeah. In the video, there was a black pickup truck just bumped into the Campaign Vehicle and pushed them out of the lane. Theres very clearly contact here. To suggest as the president said they were escorting them for their safety, they were there because they wanted to protect their opponent, thats simply laughable. Theres no idea that would be true. Of course, authorities have to look at this. This is were not to the vote yet. Clearly, this is a type of harassment taking place out there in a way that a lot of us would be uncomfortable with. Around 36 hours until the polls open. How widespread are concerns about incidents like that . They are all over the country. In philly, a memo has gone out that if somebody attacks somebody coming in to vote or touches them in some way that they could face a serious charge. The same true as anybody shows up in g. I. Joe gear. Michigan is preparing to protect polls there. Its an important state in terms of being one of the swing states up for grabs right now. New york city putting on a lot of pressure out there. Chicago cancelling all off time for any officers saying they need everyone there. Same in los angeles. Honestly, when you look at the map, these are some that were highlighted. I would doubt there are any major cities or minor towns that arent aware of the potential for violence, because tensions and emotions are running so very high. What about street protests, concerns about federal buildings that could be targeted . The federal authorities, Homeland Security and such have said they will try to protect federal property out there. If you look around, here in d. C. Driving down here, you can see buildings that have boarded up. Same in new york and other places out there. Private Companies Handling private security firms saying they have to protect themselves. What we are talking about is what happens as the results start to come in. If you start saying one side or the other simply wont tolerate it and begins to rampage in the streets, there are many businesses out there saying, we cant wait until that happens. Many private security agencies saying, we will be there to try to help you. Its a very tense few days. Appreciate it. Another flash point, the u. S. Mail. The Postal Service is stressing to employees every possible ballot must arrive on election day regardless of state by state deadlines. Slowing delivery in addition to legal con froe vtroversies have complicated things. Pamela brown joins us with more. Less than two days until the election. The Postal Service is reporting another slowdown for ontime delivery of ballots. Whats going on . The closer we get to election day, the more the performance of the Postal Service declines. We see a slowdown in mail going through the system of the Postal Service over the last three days. This has been the trend. What this means is it could mean the ballots arent going to reach important places in battleground states, the election offices on time to be counted. That is why this matters. Thats why you are seeing a lot of focus on this right now, because we are so close to election day. So many states, if the ballots dont get there on time, they will be tossed out. They wont be counted. In 28 states, ballots have to arrive by election day to be counted. Even if they were postmarked before. Has the Postal Service said what its doing to try to make that happen . The Postal Service is saying that it is taking extraordinary measures right now. Its adding hours for collection. Its adding special lines at the post office. It has a special election hotline it is using. They are having task force meetings. This is not enough. We are still seeing the decline in delivery. I think we can show a map on where we see that specifically in these battleground states. In colorado and wyoming, as you see right here, 43 have arrived on time. Then you see in some key battleground states, under 90 of mailin ballots are on time arizona, michigan, wisconsin, minnesota, north carolina, pennsylvania and parts of texas and florida. While the Postal Service is saying they are taking these extraordinary measures, we are still seeing numbers that are impacting the battleground states. Why is this happening . This is not these are extraordinary times. Were in a pandemic. They have had to make changes. Mail isnt moving as fast through the system. We are seeing a big influx of mailin balance the lolots. The Postal Service said its a small number compared to what they deal with day in and day out. Clearly, its a combination of factors including other challenges they have face with staffing shortages and processing issues. All that was combined is now coming to a head as we see. Pamela brown, appreciate it. A look at how this controversy is playing out in a battleground state. Joining us now, the secretary of state of michigan. Michigan is one state where ontime delivery of ballots is under 90 . In michigan, mailin ballots must arrive before 8 00 p. M. On november 3rd in order for them to count. How concerned are you . Im confident were doing everything we can to ensure that every ballot does get in by the deadline. Most importantly, we have consistently from the beginning of the point where voters could count could vote absentee, we have been letting them know that once you get within two weeks of the election, dont use the mail. That has not changed regardless of the litigation, regardless of the other changes around the country. Voters responded. We have got the majority, over 80 of ballots requested to vote absentee, they are in. Those remaining, about 500,000 that are still out, we are confident that voters will use local drop boxes or Clerks Office to ensure it gets in on time. What happens to ballots that arrive after the deadline . They wont count. We want to make sure that voters are also tracking their ballot. They can do that at our website. If its not been received, voters can tomorrow, monday, go to their clarks office and get a new ballot and return that and vote in person and their previous ballot will be invalidated. We are instructing voters if it hasnt been received, to just go to the polls. Vote then. We have a procedure set up to verify at that point with the clerk that the ballot hasnt been received and to spoil that so the vote kerr vote r can poi. Track your ballot. Make sure its been received. If it hasnt been received by tuesday, having a backup plan. How long do you anticipate its going to take for michigan to count ballots sand declare a winner . President trump said that votes counted after election day shouldnt count. Every vote will count. In michigan as in every other state. Every valid vote counts. Candidates dont decide. Our administrators will count every valid vote. We cannot begin tabulating until 7 00 a. M. On election day morning. We anticipate more than 3 million will be voted absentee. That will take time. On tuesday, we will announce the full number of absentee ballots we have received as of Tuesday Morning so that people can know the universe were dealing with. At the end of the day, we will provide an update as to where we are in the process and we will provide from the minute the polls close updates as we go along so voters know what to expect what votes are in and what votes are being tabulated. In past races you have done, do you have a number of votes that end up not being allowed because they were received after election day . Yes. In our august primary, we had 1. 6 million absentee ballots. Those, 6,000 were postmarked prior to election day and then were received after. Recognizing that, we launched a consistent proactive multimillion dollar voter xap ov campaign to track the data to confirm that ballots once received are being returned on time. The good news is that percentage of over 80 returned at this point is higher than we have been in at past elections. Thats a good sign that voters are returning their ballots, getting them in on time. We will track. I know a lot of folks are notifying voters if they still have outstanding ballots to remind them to return them on time. We have never waive evered from deadline. Voters they need to get them in. Trust is gone. Do you think he is right . I think its a really difficult challenge. One of if biden wins election, if he wins, he will take over not just a country thats riddled by virus, not just a country thats in a deep economic slump, but a country that has a crisis of trust in our democratic institutions, in the media, in the sources that people once relied on for information, including the president of the United States. He will have to rebuild some of that. Its not going to be easy. The president is he sees this as a means to an end. The end is the perpetuation of himself in power. There are real consequences to the institutions. These rallies i think his theory is that he needs to pump up his base as hot as he can get it now and get the biggest turnout that he can get. They are drivethru votes from in and around houston. They will be in federal court to try after a judicial slap down from the state Supreme Court. On what grounds are the plaintiffs arguing they are a problem . Essentially what this group of republicans in Harris County, which is houston, it texas, is t the clerk is essentially rewriting texas election law by creating these drivethru ballot locations in various locations around the county. They say it is illegal, its not a proper way to cast ballots. They say they are arguing and pushing for the integrity of the election process here. Critics say they are just doing the opposite. They are trying to muddy the waters in Harris County, which has been overwhelmingly voting democratic in recent elections. The critics are saying, they are afraid how the election will turn out here. We spoke with the lawyer filing the lawsuit on behalf of the republicans and we spoke with the county clerk. Why is this the first time and only county thats allowing drivethru voting . Because what collins is doing is against the law. We know we should protect the votes, making sure all of our residents can have their voice heard, have their say in our democracy. The effects of this, even though the Supreme Court shot down the republican push tonight, is that these Election Officials are having to reassure the 127,000 people that their votes are okay, that they are going to count in this election. What are you learning about the emergency hearing in federal Court Tomorrow . This group of republicans is trying on two panels, the texas Supreme Court down the state panel. But they have filed a complaint in federal court. Theres an emergency hearing scheduled for monday morning. They will hear essentially these same arguments. This is not over yet. Essentially, what the lawyer for the republicans was telling me earlier today is that this gives them a couple of different paths if it needs to go that far to get to the u. S. Supreme court. So far, they have been slapped down here in state court. We dont know how the federal judge is going to rule. Top Texas Republicans arent saying much about this, being very quiet. A handful of republicans here in the state have come out to criticize this republican effort. One lawmaker said that this was harmful and absurd. To be clear, these drivethru locations were approved by officials. How many of these locations were there and what percentage of early voters cast their ballots at them . This program started off on a small scale in a Pilot Program during a primary runoff in july. Its not new. Its new on a general election of this scale. To give you a sense, we are at the Energy Football stadium location. Six rows of tents, 30 bays for cars to drive inside. They would drive inside this tent. Election officials in the voting screens here. Stay in your car. The officials will put it many your car. Cast your ballot. Thats the way it gets tabulated. The ten locations across Harris County are in locations next to, if you will, traditional voting locations. Thats why officials here say it is legal, its safe and its secure. Appreciate it. Like texas, ohio set records for early voting which must make our next guest proud. Governor kasich is with us. Where he 36 hours away from polling opening. I know you are bothered by what republicans are try doing in texas. Do you think they dont realize how bad it looks or dont care . Or are trying to look, everybody who is driving through, they are checking out, they know the people are legitimate and they want to vote. The arguments against that are pure bunk. Im pleased the texas Supreme Court said no. Im glad to see theres some a few republicans that are condemning it. This is very, very bad. You get a situation where they are going to say people what have legitimately voted, their votes dont count. That is thats potentially explosive. Im only saying that because its a serious matter. We have so much anxiety, so many people on edge. Its a dangerous precedent to start throwing things out like that. I hope the federal judge tomorrow will make a decision like that if you cant do this. You cant all of a sudden turn around and delegitimize people who have voted. Shame on the republicans that are behind this. This is not right. You win an election fair and square. You dont win an election by trying to prevent some people from being able to vote. This is not coming out of the mouth of a biden supporter. Im a republican and i think this is just its terrible. What we are all hoping sfor tei will be settled by a wider margin so we dont go to courts and fighting to figure out what votes we count and what votes we dont count. Anderson, every vote should count. And every vote counts. As long as its legitimate. Down there in texas through this drivethru voting, it should count. Its legitimate. No excuse for this. We have seen really just up precedented efforts by the Trump Administration to make this vote to delegitimize this vote, whether its like this in texas or attack mailin voting or it shouldnt be counted after a certain date. Its not a good look for the Republican Party to be the party trying to limit americans access to voting. We have broken the record for the early vote here in South Carolina. 1. 2 Million People have voted early. 30 of those are africanamericans where africanamericans only make up 26 of the electoral in South Carolina. This new cnn reporting that the Trump Campaign may be prepared to declare victory on Election Night if the president is close, whatever that means to him is unclear, to 270 electoral votes even if large numbers have vet yet to be counted, whats your reaction . Anderson, i sometimes dont even Pay Attention to that. We have to focus people on getting to the polls. At the end of the day, when all the ballots are have been cast and they can be voted, then we will know who will be the winner for the president yl ial election but also the senate election. We got 2,000 ballots right now for folks we went back and forth. The Supreme Court ultimately decided that you needed a witness signature. Theres so many folks who submitted their ballots because when they submitted it, they didnt need a witness signature. What happens to those votes . We want to make sure every vote gets counted. We believe that they should have an opportunity to cure the mistake if theres a mistake that happened. You got republicans like lynn see g Lindsey Graham who are fighting against that. Im telling folks, this is time that we need a new south. We need somebody who can represent a new south, a new south thats bold, inclusive, diverse. Lindsey graham has demonstrated that time and time again that he is an old relic. He is a relic of the old south. He doesnt appreciate the diversity that we have in this great nation. I mean, i think there are seats that republicans are incumbents are struggling to hold onto. Colorado looks tough. What i have seen in the last few weeks is that Republican Senate candidates have come on a little bit, just like the president has. The numbers are tightening. Races like arizona that looked to be a little too far have now come back. You see a couple polls within the margin of error. Mcsally is surging there. Same thing with Susan Collins in maine. Thom tillis in north carolina. You have several incumbents that those are the ones you want to hold on. They have an advantage. You lose incumbents, its hard to hold onto the senate. Those are the ones im probably focused on the most. Then we have a couple that we should pick up a race in alabama and the other two are potentially minnesota and michigan. We have polling in both states that have it within the margin of error against incumbent democrats. Do you think democrats will take the senate . If i was looking at it straight out right now, i would say the answer is yes. A lot of races are still close. If you believe what the Trump Campaign and republicans and i talk to believe that there is a surge. They are feeling like election day will be a huge day for republicans. If trump is able to turn out big numbers, those races could come back into play and republicans could pick up some of the seats. If Lindsey Graham wins reelection despite all the bad headlines that he has had, despite a record setting amount of money thrown at him, what message does that send . He will be teflon for a while. Listen, the message that it sends is that we are getting that much closer. You have to recall before bill clinton, california was a republican state for six, eight cycles. South carolina is taking its time to get there, north carolina, virginia, texas. These are all states turning. If Jamie Harrison is able to get to 45 , we have something to build off of. The reality is the Democratic Party has become more the party of the suburbs and park avenue than they are of blue collar america. The folk supporting republicans across the board are blue collar folks. I think a lot of the trump rhetoric has kept away blue collar people of color to that message. The message is real. The attraction of the policies, whether its trade, whether its taxes, whether its growth, whether its the other things that donald trump has done, manufacturing, energy, have great appeal across the board to a huge swath of middle america. The democrats are losing them right now. I think post trump, the Republican Party is in very good shape when it comes to a broad swath of the American Public they can appeal to. The big problem you see in South Carolina is the money now is clearly aligned with the Democratic Party. They are the party of big money. They are the ones who will outspend republicans two, three, four to one. I have been talking to congressional candidates in pennsylvania and they are getting swamped. We have really been focused this year on voter education. In this case, advising voters it could take up to a week for their ballot to be returned by mail. Our local Election Officials expanded the return options, including drop boxes and drivethru options. As we get closer to election day, voters are utilizing the alternatives. We also work closely with local post masters and Election Officials to coordinate the delivery of ballots to get them to the polls as quickly as possible. If voters still have a ballot at this point, they should return it to a drop box or directly to their local election official to ensure it is returned in time to be counted. So at this point if youre in wisconsin and you have a ballot at home, do not put it in the mail, youre saying. Yes, right. Exactly. Return it to your local election official. So if less than 90 , if the delivery rate is less than 90 , it seems to be dropping over the last couple days. Do you have any idea how many thousands of ballots youre talking about not being counted . You know, we havent seen any trends to indicate that there is any part of the state where ballots are being delayed. We also know that our local postal branchs are really making efforts to hold local mail and route them directly to local Election Officials. So i think as we get closer to the election, we are seeing that voters are utilizing other alternatives to get their ballots back in time to be counted. Can somebody track their ballot that theyve sent in by mail to see if it has been received in wisconsin . They can. They can actually track their ballots when theyre sent to them and then upon return to make sure it made it back to the local election official on time. These are some of the improvements weve made to our system since our april election and since this new surge of absentee voting. If come by tomorrow or election day, somebody is tracking their ballot and they see it hasnt been received, what happens . Can they go vote in person . Can they go to the Clerks Office tomorrow and get another ballot and do it there . Yeah. Thanks again for that question because i think that is a really important clarification. Every state is different. But in wisconsin, there is a specific law that says if youve returned your absentee ballot, youre not eligible to vote at the polls on election day. So thats why it is so critical that get a ballot back in time by a method where youll be most successful. Once it has been returned, youre not eligible to vote in person. So at what point over the last couple days, you said today people should not be mailing in their ballots. When is the last time people should have been mail in their ballots . So anybody watching who mailed it in yesterday, should they be concerned . Or mailed it in on friday, should they be concerned . Our messaging really focused around, a week out from the election being the practical deadline for getting those ballots back.
