[music] [major] well, it's been a long build-up. speeches, debates, policy papers. but we're finally getting close to the votes that count in campaign 2020. by the time we got to the beginning of 2020, the frontrunners within the democratic party were bernie sanders, joe biden, elizabeth warren, and pete buttigieg, who was performing more strongly than i think people expected going into the iowa caucuses. [peter] democrats remain divided between the populist pitch from bernie sanders and elizabeth warren, and more moderate messaging by biden, buttigieg, amy klobuchar. [kristen] former vice president joe biden, who has struggled to hold on to his frontrunner status, needs a strong showing here. joe biden was the frontrunner for the democratic nomination until he wasn't.
