>> it's up to us. after this, like i said, we've had the police chief, the d.a. to do their jobs. i want to go on listening tours here in the city of memphis to hear from our constituents. hearing from them and putting things into action i think that's going to demonstrate that we are listening to them. i'm not a law enforcement expert but i'm willing to listen to any and everybody whether it's here locally, experts outside the city of memphis, to bring some best practices and best ideas to the table. and then from that standpoint it's left to the council to enact them but i think that will go a long way to try to rebuild trust and giving our community a sense that their voices are being heard. >> do you have full confidence in the chief of police to address any problems in her department? >> well, i'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt.
