what did it take to get to this point? >> well, it is an engineering marvel. nothing like this has ever been built before. it had to deal with terrestrial setbacks. there was a point in time people didn't know if congress would continue to fund it, it was $9 billion over budget. delayed by ten years due to various technical issues, but simply getting the telescope to the launch pad, this is a $10 billion telescope. part of one of the contingency plans they had to talk about, what if there were perhaps pirates that tried to steal it on the ship to french giana. it is just one of the things it had to deal with getting to space. >> pirates. unexpected. >> you have to deal with
