college had to do something like this? >> i feel very sad about the whole situation. you know sort of dismissing myself from giving legal commentary on what's going to happen just being a spellman grad. i was also there when the gift was given. >> what did it mean for that campus and students on that campus that such generosity was given? >> spellman at that time doctor cole had become the president there. we were becoming a school to be looked at and we were in the news. but we weren't quite there with the money and the funding that spellman needed. she on that day made plans to make a big announcement. $20 million in 1988. oh my gosh, we're going to get better dorms and a new science center. we were so happy. there was a big celebration on campus.
