chaos was caught on camera. it was at the end of the third quarter of a high school playoff game. shots were fired off the field, sending terrified players and fans scrambling for cover. some huddled under bleachers for protection. >> we just saw everybody from the crowd running. that's when the whole football team -- the coaches were telling us get down. but we wanted to get somewhere safe inside the school, so we all ran up here, ran through the fence. >> reporter: those out in the field could only drop to the deck as police and paramedics rushed to treat the three wounded. among them, two minors. officials say several off-duty first responders were at the game and immediately sprang into action to help. >> i just want to thank my retired captain battalion chief for being there, who assisted the victim immediately. >> reporter: in a statement saturday, prosecutors said the motive had nothing to do with the students or either high school. the venue simply presented an opportunity for criminals to pursue their own form of petty vengeance against one another.
