focus unfortunately for the ice of the ice storm for this particular area. here is a look at the forecast radar. again you have nashville, little rock, memphis, huntsville, charlotte, and they will start with rain and see the change over into snow and then you'll see sleet and freezing rain mixed in as well and that is what you don't want to have. this by far is going to be the biggest issue we encounter over the next 48 hours. ice and a lot of it. again all of the pink areas are about a quarter of an inch. but then you start to see the numbers go up. half inch, maybe even as much as an inch of ice. again, that is more than enough to cause major accidents on the highways, ground planes, not to mention cause some pretty widespread power outages and that is likely what will happen in some of the areas. yes, snow will accumulate on the back side once the cold air begins to filter in. so you'll have some decent snowfall from nashville to charlotte and down to atlanta.
