Republicans first attempt to repeal and replace the Affordable Care act failed, but if they regroup and try again, what could it mean . With all the stammering, what could it bring about healthy changes . We will be living with owe baum care for the foreseeable future. That was paul ryan last week after obamacare was pulled from the house floor. In the seven years since obamacare or the Affordable Care act became law the house has voted at least 62 times to repeal it. Hardly symbolic jesstures. Republicans reject the individual mandate. And say policies are unaffordable with two choices. But it has reduced the number of Americans Without Health Insurance by less than 11 , down from more than 17 from 2013. The aca tries to control health care comforts. Exchanges went up an average of 22 last year and the subsidies the governments provides are extremely expensive. This week republicans say the fight to repeal obamacare is not over yet. Obamacare has done too much damage to families. So were going to get this right. Jonathan burris is the ceo of recordkeeping for 88,000 doctors and jonathan, its great to see you, thanks for being here today. I love being here, becky. Back when the Affordable Care act is if place, is it a good thing or a bad thing for business . Obviously, general in business. Great viewed shocks from the political system are always a distraction. Even if theyre good shocks or bad shocks. So anything that stays still for us to do our work is good. Obviously, the ac hca missed a big opportunity to make things a little more competitive and affordable for motion e folks. But so what. Too bad. There is a lot we can do as long as we can kind of get back to work. In the administration, there is a lot they can do just in terms of the regulation . Thats exactly right. The basic intent of the hca was to ush i were in new competition at the low end of the market. As we know, lots of people dont like the current cost of Health Insurance and would rather not have it than pay as much out of their salary as they want. Obama created a Wealth Distribution infrastructure to give them some money and created fines if they didnt play. Obviously, what would be better in a free market is the market goes down to where they are and theres products they can afoorpd they like and they buy. Can you layout what you think should happen next . What do you think will actually happen next . In health care, if you dont get the product, you dont get to keep the. The range of a mammogram, same equipment, same machine, same image comes out. If you go to the 450, you deep keep a thousand dollars. Blue cross blue shield. You know how much you can do. Right. I dont have any influence from the consumer. From frugality, you are right, if its not coming out of my pocket, it comes under a matter of convenience . And you make very good point, which is there are lots of things you can do without the market being all the way fixed. Deductibles are going up anywaying they were not imlegal during obamacare. Theyre continuing to move upward, people can keep the money by shoozing the cheaper place. At athena, we see 188 doctors and providers putting all their calendars up on the retail internet, so you can go to yelp, find your favorite and pick and choose amongst our clients easily, like open table or airbnb. What we keep hearing is obamacare is gentleman to collapse on itself, its dying s. That true . Obviously, there are aspects of obamacare that have Death Program income them. Imagine a Car Insurance market where you dont have to buy Car Insurance until after you buy your car, that phenomena is happening. Thats whats causing that spike in the individual market on the market, 22 price increases a year. Jonathan quick, we pensioned you have 88,000 doctors that use you, use your product. What do you hear from them most frequently . Whats the number one complaint and request . Right t. Number one thing that we offer to doctors is some relief from the administrativeic hawgs. Its forms you have to fill out and codes you got to put until. Appeals you have to write. We take half away. Doctors choose us to get half hoff that crap removed from their lives t. Guys who are on cant wait for us to get the other half out of here life. The majority of our focus is guaranteeing that nonclinical bureaucratic drag that is sort of malaise to the factor of medicine for most doctors. The always colorful jonathan quick. Thanks for being here. Thanks, for being back. The adjustment tax places items imported into the united states.
