Joining us on the phone. You there . Thanks to having me. Welcome to the show. Why the down bragrade . You make a different call today. Why . A year ago we dramatically raised expectations and thought the company was prime to blow past consensus expectations. You know, wall street Investor Expectations and thought with that meaningful beat to expectations even though the stock had been great it would continue to trade higher. The stock exceeded our price target. Consensus expectation, street expectations, are much higher. Actually above where we are. Weve made minor adjustments. Expectations is the issue. People are expecting facebook to keep crushing quarter after quarter. Were wored about this company 300 billion in market cap, thats getting harder to do with where expectations are set. Were taking a breather. This is still not an expensive stock. Still a great company, but i think expectations may have gotten a little ahead of themselves mplgtsahead of itself. How much larger, other than throwing a bunch of shade on fundamentals. Cut you off. Right to the white house. Have a seat. It is always a great pleasure to welcome my good friend and partner, president pena nieto of mexico to the white house and his delegation. Enrique and i just worked together at the north american leader summit in ottawa last month. Today we have two of the three amigos. Although the handshake saddle eais a little easier when just between two people. Something too often overlooked, but bears repeating. Especially given some of the heated rhetoric that we sometimes hear. The United States values tremendously our Enduring Partnership with mexico, and our extraordinary ties of family and friendship with the mexican people. Mexico is our Third Largest trading partner. We sell more to mexico than we do china, india and russia combined. Every year millions of tourists and bits people and friends and family cross our border legally. Every day 1. 5 billion dollars in trade and investment crosses our border, and thats trade that supports over 1 million jobs right here in the United States. On a whole host of issues. From our shared security to Climate Change, mexico is a critical partner, and is critically important to our own wellbeing. Were not just strategic in Economic Partners were also neighbors and were friends and were family, including millions of americans that are connected to mexico by ties of culture and of language. And thats why as president ive worked to deepen the partnership between our two nations, and today enrique and i discussed ways to keep strengthening the u. S. mexico partnership. First, through forms like our highlevel economic dialogue were going to keep working to boost trade and grow our economies, and create more opportunity for our people. With todays air transport agreement were expanding the number of airports that businesses and consumers can fly from. Which will make travel and trade more affordable and more efficient. Both of our countries are working hard to bring into effect the Transpacific Partnership so that our workers can compete on a level Playing Field across the asiapacific region and can open up doors to new markets. I reiterated to president pena nieto although i am disappointed in the supreme courts failure to come to agreement on our immigration executive action, it is my firm belief it will be in the interests. United states, especially our economic interests, to pursue comprehensive immigration reform. Second, we are deepening our Robust Partnership on energy and environmental issues. Both of our nations are committed to ensuring that the historic paris agreements is fully implemented. And were going to keep on working towards the goal we announced last month in ottawa generating half the electricity in north america through clean power by 2025. With that goal in mind, we are pursuing an agreement this year on sharing civilian nuclear technology. This fall our new u. S. Mexico Energy Business council will meet for the first time to strengthen ties between energy sdrs and mr. President i thank you for your leadership and vision and forming this industry. Im pleased our nations will continue to work to shared ecosystems and environmental herridai heritage. Third, protecting our people from especially the opioids devastating so many communities. Both nations agreed to share a responsibility to combat this crisis here in the United States, working to improve treatment and prevention and reduce the availability of illicit drugs and i applaud president nietos plan to curb. Cultivation and heroin production. We continue to deploy 21st Century Technologies to support our shared border, and as mexico makes important reforms to its judicial system, we are working together to strengthen Law Enforcement and to strengthen observance of human rights and the rule of law. Fourth, were stepping up our efforts to tackle regional and global challenges. From confronting Cyber Threats to fighting diseases like zika and dengue. Well keep partnering with Central American countries to address the instability and poverty thats prompted so many people to embark on the dangerous journey north. And even as we address migration challenges in our own hemisphere, i am very grateful that mexico is taking an important step on refugee issues and will be cohosting our refugee summit at the United Nations this september. And finally, we continue to strengthen the strong ties between our people. We want more American Students studying in mexico. We want more mexico students studying in the United States. So today we agreed to extend and update our educational cooperation. Through efforts like our 100,000 strong in the americas initiative, were expanding opportunities for educational exchanges, and scientific partnerships and Research Collaborations and working to help girls learn around the world, including mexicos commitment to support teachers and schools throughout latin america and the caribbean. In closing, since this is most likely to be our final white house meeting, im reminded of what president pena nieto said when he first came here almost four years ago. Enrique, you said that, our nations had a great opportunity to have a closer link of brotherhood, of sisterhood, of collaboration and, of course, of great accomplishments. I am proud of what weve achieved together. And proud to stand with you and the mexican people as our brothers and sisters in progress. And im confident that our nations will continue to grow Even Stronger and more prosperous together in the future. [ speaking in Foreign Language ] thank you very much. Translator good afternoon, everyone. First of all, i would like breaking away from the white house for a moment. Promise to take you back there once the president begins speaking again and the actual q a session begins. That news event with president obama highlighting the relationship between mexico and the United States, saying that that partnership is enduring. Again, well take you back to the white house in just a matter of moments. I do want to bring in our desk for the hour today. Jim lebenthal, along with josh brown, Pete Najarian and rob, ubs managing director and one of barrons top 100 advisers. So before the president s emerged in that room we were talking to rich greenfield about facebook. A longtime bull recently down graded the stock. In fact, today to a hold. It comes just ahead of earnings next week. Josh, you recently sold the stock, or i dont know how recently you sold it, but you no longer own it. Yeah. Is it a mistake not to own facebook . By definition, anything that goes up after you sell it is a mistake. I would love to get back into the stock but i need a disappointment to do so. Mentally, tough to wrap my head around pay be up 10 12 after being out of it, but been in and out of it before. I really like the company and to be opportunistic with it. Typically you dont get disappointment out of facebook. More likely get a discount when the market panics, and i would not take that possibility off the table, given where the vix is, given some of the geopolitical things ahead of us this summer. If that happens, im a buyer, not a seller. Pete, are expectations too high . How much better can this story really good . What rich is talking about. The expectations. How high can they get and can they continue to absolutely slaughter it jie think the interesting thing is, rich i think is tolooking at the short term and going to neutral. Not like he suddenly went to a sell. So accurate in his ratings. Excuse me. They have also taken their estimates below consensus. Looking at a price target which hit their target. 117. Yeah. Right. More so looking at the actual met tricks of t metrix of the business, we dont think as good as the rest of the street does . Right. I tend to not agree with rich on that aspect of it. I think their numbers will be fantastic. In the political season youll see numbers get better in the second half of the year. We all know zuckerberg 3put outa tenyear focus where this company is going. 59 acquisitions since they started this company, facebook. Incredible company and the ability to monetize things or move tworz monetization, absolutely extraordinary. To joshs point, ive been in it many times. Im not in it now either and kicking myself but looking for that reason, that catalyst to get in it. Maybe even before earnings if we start to see options flows come in, that might push me back in. Youve wondered where the engagement metrix are in facebook as its been able to continually add these monthly active users. Anecdotically you hear about younger folks moving away from instagr instagram, say, snapchat. Yep. Things like that. Is the story able to continue at the pace that has rewarded investors more so than any other phang stock year date . The best performer, up 14 of the facebook, amazon, netflix and al alphabet . I think richs comment is more of a trade itting than investing comment. What hes saying, i think, they havent stumbled and will at some point, maybe this coming quarter. As far as a longterm investment goes, notwithstanding what you just said about snapchat and similar youth movements to other social media spots, this is still trading at 26 times earnings and a peg ratio of one. Fairly priced. Im not a large cap growth investor. Im a Large Cap Value investor. You wont see me own this. This is right in the sweet spot for them. Own it easily as a longterm investment. Pointing out, scott, one of the greatest risks in the tech space. Overweight, slightly less overweight. The risk, the entire sector gets defanged. They can get defanged, you can still have weve proven, a microsoft, a qualcomm perform, some of the other, if you want to say old tech stocks able to muscle their way back into the conversation . And some of that has happened, but the sector has underperformed broadly the s p year to date. Very big sector in the s p. Larger sector. You can start to see it, if you start to see it come back, thats how markets advances from here, but also a Smartphone Market cmaturing, thats a head wind. Balanced by valuations, return to shareholders and merits and overwait, not the same it d. Give people a broader picture where your views on the market are as we sit here today. Given your role of managing the money do you and the fact you are one of barrons top ranked advisers. You went yesterday and increased your exposure to the u. S. Market. Is that representative of what has been an unliked rally . Now starting to get a sentiment change and you just happened to be representative of believing in this story more so than you have . Well, i think as markets approach alltime highs one of the toughest things to do is talk to investors about whats next. And oftentimes the best thing to do is tell them to sit tight. That means, dont sell this rally, because theres a lot of central tennants, Building Blocks that could drive this market higher. Im of the opinion in the very short return, probably going to see a pause, but as you have seen since 2015, the markets have traded in a very narrow trading range, since may of 2015. We are right at a point where we could break out and there is catalyzers for that breakout. One being, potential better earnings than expected in q2. Stronger earnings momentum into q3 and q4 and economic trajectory that is supported by jobs and home building. And i just think that you could surprise to the up side. I dont want to the do too much. That doesnt mean i might not want to reposition a little bit. Theres expensive defensives you might want to rotate into the cyclicals. Right . Part of the fixed income portfolios that have performed enormously well year to date and you might want to take some chips off the table. Theres things to do. From a broad context, sit tight. If i was to say, okay, what was a market filled with potential warning signs has now felt like its switched a little bit to be a market of buy signals. Well whats the greatest buy signal . Theres a lot to worry about right now, and when we stop worrying, we stop rallying. Basically. And theres still this massive worry about out about whats going to happen with brexit as it unfolds. Right . It could be a messy divorce. We dont know. Theres a lot of questions that havent been answered, and certainly a lot of election questions. So that uncertainty exists against the back drop of improving macro data, and improving earnings data. So i think markets can grind higher in that environment. Rob, related thoughts. One talking about being range bound. I submit weve broken through the range. Convincingly. Particularly on the s p 500. Now that to me is predicated on one particular thing. Earnings. I agree. You listed a bunch of things that are worrying the market, but its really earnings that are propelling this forward. Do you have a thought on how much more that can go on . Look, its really been a good week. Yeah, hiccups along the lines of starbucks and other things but theyve been few and far between. Its been a very good earnings season. How much more can that compel the market . Whats happening, companies are clearly doing better than most of us think. You saw that in Bank Earnings a little bit, as it relates to the, at the credit profile, and so anytime youre looking at, you know, how banks are doing when theyre reducing chargeoffs, you talked about it earlier this week. I think thats a signal of the Underlying Health of the, of the earnings situation. Whats happened over the last year, and i think its pretty interesting, is markets slowed when earnings slowed. And now earnings look like theyre going to reaccelerate and markets are do volumes bother you at all . Just asking, because weve been focused on everything. A great run since the earnings season kicked in. Got out of brexit, next, earnings. Got out of earnings, impressive. Alcoa starting it or financials and now deeper and deeper . Let me interrupt you and back to washington where i believe the president of the United States and mexico will start taking questions. A chance to take in the rnc last night, get your reaction to the comments made pby the republican president ial nominee and specifically, how do you counterbalance as we look ahead to philadelphia, how do you counterbalance whats wa clear an appealing message to many working class americans . And drill down also on comments about the wall. He said, once again, theres a need for a wall. I ask that question, because you and i know that the United States spends tens of millions of dollars on a barrier between our two countries already. Where does mr. Trump have it wrong as far as a need for a wall . And you may also know, sir, that your Approval Ratings are historically high, congrats on that yet your right track wrong track, about twothirds of american still say were on the rock track. Can you square that disconnect . Is that unfair to say thats an indictment of your presidency . And mr. President , thank you for coming. Two simple questions. One, you kind of touched on this. Donald trump very well could be the president in january. How do you work with a person, how do you partner with a person youve previously compared tot t i did read some of the, what was said, and the one thing that i think is important to recognize is this idea that america is somehow on the verge of collapse, this vision of violence and chaos everywhere, doesnt really jive with the experience of most people. I mean, i hope people, the next morning walked outside and birds were chirping and the sun was out. This afternoon people will be watching their kids play on sports teams, go to the swimming pool, and folks are going to work getting ready for the weekend, and in particular, i think it is important just to be absolutely clear here that some of the fears that were expressed throughout the week just dont jive with the facts. So lets take two specific examples. Wh whenit comes to crime, the Violent Crime rate in america has been lower during my presidency than any time in the last three, four decades. And although it is true that weve seen enough victims in murders, Violent Crime in some cities this year, the fact of the matter is, is that murder rate today, the violence rate today, is far lower than it was prior to being president and lower than when i took office. Weve just gone through a tragic period where we saw both the tragedy in minnesota and then how we can rebuild trust, support law ens forcemented and make sure communities feel they are being fairly policed. But the fact is that the rate of intentional killings of Police Officers is also significantly lower than it was when Ronald Reagan was president. Now, those are facts. Thats the day ta. Data. When it comes to immigration, i think americans expect that our immigration process is orderly and it is legal. And we have put unprecedented resources at our border. Well, it turns out that the the rate of illegal migration into the United States today is lower by twothirds than it was when Ronald Reagan was president. We have far fewer undocumented workers crossing the border today than we did in the 80s, or the 90s, or when george bush was president. Thats a fact. So the one thing that i think is important is obviously there are going to be different visions about where we should go as a country. How we can provide jobs. How we can make sure that our kids are able to get the education they need, to succeed in the 21st century. How do we deal with our budget . How do we make sure our taxes how do we deal with issues around growing inequality or wages that have not gone up the way we want, those are a lot of pressures real families feel, but were not going to make good decisions based on fears that dont have a basis of fact. And that, i think, is something that, i hope, all americans Pay Attention to. America is much less violent than it was not just 20, 30 years ago but when i came in as president. That doesnt mean we havent solved those problems, but those are facts. I think that covers just about everything. Oh, you had some question about my Approval Rating as being high and the right track wrong drak track i think if you look at almost every year, every president over the last, i dont know, 20, 30 years, youre going to be hard pressed to find a year in which the majority of americans thought we were on the right track. Maybe because all the good things happening in america dont get reported on a lot. I dont think thats unusual, but i appreciate you bringing up the fact that my poll numbers are doing okay. Translator thank you very much, president obama. Let me reiterate what i said a few minutes ago. The relationship between the United States and mexico goes over and beyond the relationship between two governments. This is a relationship that has been build as of two peoples who have a common life, or millions of people who have their everyday lives in both nations. A relationship that undoubtedly involved millions of inhabitants of both countries. I would also like to say as ive said before that for the mexican administration, the democratic process that you live here in the American Union and for this process we will always be absolutely respectful. We will not get involved. We will not give our opinion. We will not set any type of position, because at the end of the day this corresponds to the people of the United States, and that is the American People who have to have to decide who the next male or female president will be. But what we can say right now is that whom ever is elected here as president to the Mexican Government will be working in a very constructive manner with good faith. I am certain that that relationship between both countries goes beyond the mere economic environment, and here president obama has highlighted many of the such relevant figures that show the vitality of the economic relationship, the trade and commerce relationship, between our two nations. The millions of jobs that are generated in the United States and in mexico as exactly the economic relationship, but theres another very important aspect that i should highlight. The good can cooperation that we have in terms of security. Not only for the Mexican Government to combat organized crime in a more efficient manner, but also for the u. S. Government to efficiently fight criminal groups that practically are not respecting any type of border and that are cooperating in both nations. The cooperation in terms of security between mexico and the United States is also everpresent in the fight against terrorism. We are working so that we can turn north america into a terrorismfree nation, and have a part of the world, of course, and this is something we share every day in this, every day cooperation. We share information. We do activities together, and we are always trying to keep north america as a region free of the presence of terrorism. The relationship between mexico and the United States is very broad and different fronts. That is why the attitude and the position of my administration in terms of committing ourselves to continue working with whom ever is elected as president of the United States tshs , it is the decision that we are going to respect the decision of the American People, and let me also say that never before have i said anything, have i given any adjective to any of the candidates in the democratic competition here in the United States, any issue, any thing that i have said has been taken out of context, and especially we gather everything that has been said on this process. If you see everything that i have said invariably i have expressed absolute respect for this process, because i reiterate, this is an issue thats in the decision of the American People exclusively of the people of the United States. [ speaking in Foreign Language ] translator yes. Translator good afternoon, mr. President s. Both have expressed they are in favor of the free market and globalization. Weve heard some voices that oppose themselves to this paradigm, candidate trump pointed out protectionism. My question is, do the Legal Mechanism of the nafta provided with strength so that it is not put aside by decree, and president obama, id like to ask you, what issues you have in your administration that you would like to complete . Thank you. Translator i think the free market model of commercial trade openness, this model has undoubtedly shown enormous benefits for nations, for those of us that follow this model, of course. And let me just say that as the agreement is signed with the United States and canada, im talking about nafta, of course, the trade level grew over 500 . 547 to be exact in the last 20 years of nafta, and this undoubtedly is reflected in more protective investments and the creation of jobs as well, and it has promoted different projects for the development of infrastructure to make our countries even more competitive. I also think that what is happening is that whenever weve had slowdown process in the world economy, we start questioning the model. No doubt. However, and this is something im fully convinced of, no doubt that this model mexico has followed and promoted and fostered will well it has had a particularly Important Strategic Partnership with the u. S. And canada. This is a model that still promises a lot of things so much for the benefits of our citizens, because it allows us to consolidate the north american region as a more competitive region with a lot more investment, and which we are really taking advantage of opportunities to build labor possibilities for our peoples. This is really something we have to highlight, and underline and bear in mind, because it represents so much, and this agreement is projecting into the future, of course, a free trade, of course. Right now we can say that this is something that we have had now for 20 years, and i think there are also conditions to modernize, to update, and to find more advantages so that it will potentially present shared possibilities that we will have, im talking about the United States, mexico and canada. I believe that this agreement, this agreement which is also strengthened through tpp, which is now about to be approved in the different countries, and undoubtedly they potentialize, they boost and they create a highly promising platform tore Economic Development and for the benefits this will constitute for our societies. Translator i think the mechanism of the purpose, i think, the position of the United States is that after 20 years of having nafta, we now have eventually the conditions to modernize it to update it, nafta, and potentialize this agreement even more. Well, i agree with enrique that one of the values of the Transpacific Partnership, tpp is that weve learned from our experience in nafta whats worked, what hasnt, where we can strengthen it, and a number of the provisions inside of the Transpacific Partnership address some previous criticisms of nafta, and will make what is already an extraordinarily strong economic relationship between our two countries Even Stronger. And well make sure that the process of of global integration is serving not just large companies, but is helping small companies, and small businesses, and workers. So what ive said consistently is that globalization is a fact, because of technology. Because of an integrated Global Supply chain. Because of changes in transportation. And were not going to be able to build a wall around that. What we can do is to shape how that process of global integration proceeds so that its increasing opportunity for ordinary people, so that its creating better jobs. So that we are strengthening protections for our workers. So that we are addressing some of the environmental challenges that come with rapid growth. And for us to look forward and find ways in which we shape this new direction of the Global Economy in a way that benefits everybody, rather than to look backwards and think that we can undo what has taken place, i think is our best strategy. And for all the talk about starting trade wars or increasing protectionist barriers between countries, when you actually examine how our economies work, auto plants in the United States, for example, would have a very hard time producing the number of automobiles they produce, and theyve been having record years over the last several years, if theyre also not getting some supplies from companies in mexico. And companies in mexico are not going to do well if they dont have some connection to not just markets but also suppliers and technology from the United States. So we have to focus on how do we ensure the economy works for everybody and not just the few. There are dangers that globalization increased inequality. And dangers about not providing sufficient protection, that they can be left behind in this process, and thats what we have to focus on. And the Transpacific Partnership is consistent with that. Jillian . President obama, given the fact that the government of turkey is asking for the extradition of turkish cleric gulen, how do you deal with accusations he orchestrated the coup and believe u. S. Intelligence services had direct knowledge of the coups planning . Also, with the detention of more than 10,000 turks, the firing of thousands more and a ban on overseas travel by academics there, at what point do you need to speak out more forcefully about these tactics . I did my undergraduate thesis on the revolution and how that shaped your nations politics [ speaking in Foreign Language ] my question for you, you mentioned your effort to address heroin and the traffics and transfer to the United States. Can you talk more about the challenges you face in interrupting this illegal trade . Particularly given the fact that often its transported in small amounts, making the kind of large busts that mexico and the u. S. Collaborated on inner its of other illicit drugs more difficult . And in addition, you, like president obama, have made Climate Change a top priority. Can you talk about the biggest obstacles you face there in achieving your climate goals and how climate impacts are affecting your country and the future relationship between the u. S. And mexico, in terms of migration and other factors. Gracias. First of all, i reiterated what we said from the earliest sense that a coups was being orchestrated in turkey and that we strongly reject any attempt to overthrow democracy in turkey that we support the democratically elected government there. And i think one of the signs of great strength in the turkish people was the fact that even strong opponents of president erdogan when reports of the coup were taking place and when it was still uncertain who exactly was behind it, even opponents of president erdogan pushed back hard against the idea that the military should overthrow a democratic elected government. Any reports that we had any previous knowledge of a coup attempt, that there was any u. S. Involvement in it, that we were anything other than entirely supportive of turkish democracy are completely false. Unkw unequivalently false and i said to president erdogan thehe needo make sure and everyone in his government understands that those reports are completely false. Because when rumors like that start swirling around, that puts our people at risk on the ground in turkey, and it threatens what is a critical alines and partnership between the United States and turkey. So i i want to be as clear and unequivocal as i can be. We deplore the attempted coup. We said so earlier than just about anybody, and have been consistent throughout. That the turkish people deserve a government that was democratically elected. Now, what is true is that president erdogan and turkey have a strong belief that mr. Gulen here in the, whos in pennsylvania. A legal resident of the United States, is somehow behind some of these some of these efforts, and what i said to president erdogan is the same thing that i would say to you. And anybody else who asks which is, we have a process here in the United States for dealing with extradition requests made my foreign governments, and its governed by treaties and its governed by laws, and it is not a decision that i make, but rather a decision that our Justice Department and investigators and courts make alongside my administration in a very wellstructured and wellestablished process. So i told president erdogan that they should present us with evidence that they think indicates the involvement of mr. Gulen, or anybody else whos here in the United States, and it would be processed the way that it is always processed. And that we would certainly take any allegations like this seriously, but americas governed by rules of law, and those are not ones that the president of the United States or anybody else can just set aside for the sake of expediency, even when we are deeply supportive of turkish democracy and even when we care deeply about any attempts to overthrow their government, or any other illegal actions. Weve got to go through a legal process. Finally, with rp to whats happening in the aftermath of the coup attempt. In my conversations with president erdogan, i think in statements by john kerry and others, what we have indicated is our strong belief and hope that as the dust settles, there is not a overreaction that could in some fashion lead to a curtailment of civil liberties, or a weakening of the ability of legitimate opposition or journalists through legal processes to voice their concerns, and to petition their government. And that the United States as a friend and partner of turkeys and me personally as somebody whos worked with president erdogan for a long time now, would encourage that the manner in which this coup is investigated and people are held accountable and justice is done is consistent with rule of law and the basic freedoms that i think the turkish people have fought for and defended. And obviously, you know, we cant discount how scary and shaken not just the turkish government is, but turk be society is. Imagine if you had some rump group of military officials here in the United States who started flying off with f 16s or other artillery and were taken shots at government buildings, and people were killed and injured. People would be scared, and rightfully so. But one of the challenges of a democratic government is making sure that even in the midst of emergencies and passions, we make sure that rule of law and the basic precepts of justice and liberty prevail. And my hope is, is that that is what will emerge. In the meantime, we will continue to work with turkey, even as they try to stabilize the situation. Our base at insulak, from which we are going after isil hard is up and running again, and we continue to work with them to make sure we dont lose mow munt em that weve built in terms of weakening isis position in syria, and to try to strengthen the prospects for some resolution of that terrible conflict. Translator no question, because it allows us to show i want to break away from the white house and head stright our sue herera at the breaking news desk on an event that appears to be unfolding in a Shopping Mall in munich. Sewer . Indeed. Nbc news is confirming there was a shooting at the Olympia Shopping Center in munich. This is video taken by an eyewitness. Showing people running from the mall at this point. Dow jones is reporting multiple casualties, but nbc news has not confirmed that independently. We have confirmed, nbc has confirmed that there was a shooting incident there, but we do not have any confirmation on injuries at this point. This is a, a large Shopping Mall in munich, according to reports that weve been hearing. Its called the olympia mall, and there you see the map in relationship to frankfurt. Theres munich, of course, a large city in germany. Again that eyewitness video showing people running from the mall, which is to the left. And dow jones is reporting that there are multiple injuries casualties, but nbc news has not confirmed that independently, scott. So were going to monitor the situation, and bring you any developing elements that we can developing elements that we can at nbc news is able to confirm incident. The police are telling nbc news that that incident is now over, and we will keep you posted when we find out more. But that is the eyewitness video we got just moments ago into our newsroom. Scotty . Germany more on edge this week than perhaps as normal. Absolutely. Now this incident. Which of course were still waiting on details for, but unsettling nonetheless. Unsettling very much so. We should note france extended its state of emergency by another three months after the bastille day incident. Germany remains on high alert. Its a different type of alert than we see in place in france. The one thats in place in france gives the police more power to do search and seizures than they normally would have under french law. And they were trying to extend that. And then the bastille day incident happened and there was no pushback whatsoever. They did extend that state of emergency. Germany is still on what they call a high alert at this point. Which also gives the police a little bit more leeway on what they are able to do. So were working to confirm whether or not there are casualties because casualties are very different than injuries. So were going to work with nbc news and get you all the details as soon as possible, scott. I know you will. Sue, well be back to you certainly as needed as you get more developments there. We have been discussing this News Conference taking place as we speak at the white house between president obama and the mexican president. Lets take you back there as the tail end of the q and a session is still ongoing. Translator many subject matters and shared agenda between our two countries. I mean, the need of heavy attending to this in a joint fashion. This issue show the need to work in a very close manner, in a constructive manner in a very positive way to look into this jointly, us, two governments to look into problems at border cities. And this is exactly what weve decided to do. I want to thank president barack obama for his political will so we can create this high level working group, this task force to find the best solution. Cecilia. Translator good afternoon, mr. President , you spoke about the need to institutionalize the need between both nations with free trade with this agenda subject taking into account the change in administration in the United States. Id like to ask you whether you have discussed the extradition of chapo guzman as well. Translator when we speak about institutionalizing mechanisms between both countries, are now allowing us to have a very positive constructive relationship in both nations. First, the high level economic dialogue, the hled that high ranking officials both administrations are working in favor of creating a route, a path for infrastructure constructi construction, a lot more modern infrastructure allowed to have more agile trade in commerce between our two nations and in terms of security something i have always said as many of the subject matters responsibility secure cooperation allows us to fight together jointly criminal organizations operating in both countries and maintaining a safe border comes from this high level dialogue that we have. And surely academic exchanges. Academic exchanges seek to have more students from mexico to be able to come to the United States to get their training, their education here. And north American Students to be able to go to mexico. And this has been a growing impet impetus. Number of students 64,000 now number of years ago was 3,000 weve decided to continue on this path and continue promoting it. And the third thing here is the mechanism to implement innovation, technology and infrastructure in north america. This is a mechanism allowing us to really identify areas of opportunity, to enhance value chains, productive chains and also supply chains that are there for the production in the United States as well as in mexico where they define cluster mapping process so they can promote the Economic Activity in both nations and how can we strengthen this relationship. And this is another mechanism generated as of the commitment and the will of president obamas administration. So the relationship between our two countries is not a monomatic relationship, but of security. We wanted to really try to launch efforts in both governments to promote competitiveness and productivity of the United States, of mexico, of north america as a whole and to really promote and foster this region so that it can become the most attractive region for investments, Economic Growth and productivity and development. For that we have to be working in common fronts especially in joint projects that are jointly defined that will also allow us to really comply with this purpose and objective. I thought it was a good summary of what we mean when we say the need to institutionalize the relationship. I think its very important to remember that so much of the work that gets done between countries is not done at the level of president s, but is done within various agencies, whether its Law Enforcement or economic ministries. And when they establish relationships and systems of communications and shared projects and shared visions, those structures continue even after any particular president is gone. And build trust and understanding between countries that are critically important. And this gives me a good opportunity, i think, to emphasize that throughout my presidency both with president benne the president and his predecessor, we have had strong communications, collaboration where there have been differences or tensions we have consistently tried to work through them in a constructive, positive way. And to take an example of something that obviously always gets a lot of attention, the issue of the border, a lot of the undocumented workers or migration flows that weve seen over the last several years arent coming from mexico but are coming from central america. And if it were not for the hard work of mexico in tryingr to th and to cooperate with us, a much more significant problem and thats not always easy. That requires resources and policy decisions made by the Mexican Government. But the cooperation on that front has been absolutely critical in making sure that we deal with these issues in a serious way and in a humane way. And we continue to make progress on that front. The same is true when it comes to drug trafficking. This is a problem in both of our countries. And as a consequence of the work that weve done together, we have seen progress in some areas both in the flow of drugs north but also in the flow of guns and illicit financing south. But were not going to be able to solve this problem by ourselves. And mexico is going to need the United States to cooperate in order to rid itself of the violence and corruption that results from the drug trade. And so the more we can build these kinds of habits of cooperation and engrain them in our various agencies, the better off were going to be. And i want everybody to be very clear, mexico has been a consistent, Strong Partner with us on these issues. And if they had not been we would have had much bigger problems on our borders. And the benefit of a cooperative mexico and by the way a mexico that has a healthy economy, a mexico that can help us build stability and security in central america, thats going to do a lot more to solve any migration crisis or drug
