Back from the museum a bike the works Well what we've really tried to do with the recent reinterpretation is to open up a lot more of the footprint of the ship to visitors and in the great cabin visitors weren't previously able to access all of the areas particularly the day cabin and the dining cabin you would walk wind of all that rope and sort of get a view of it but you weren't given access to what we've done now is open up all those spaces so people can walk through and get a lot more up close with the object and in the bedchamber we've cleared I to be honest a lot of the objects that used to be in there and we tried to make it look after quite a lot of research the way we believe that Nelson himself would have seen it and it's you know 5 given every pint is well over new as this that is quite a lot of research went into the layers of paint that were on the ship and various areas and with help of some specialists we were able to identify the layers that related to the correct period and match those colors and present day materials and then we were able to repaint those areas in the great cabin again the colors that Nelson would have saying how do you know what color the wall was in the great cabin it's mostly based on the the scientific analysis that we've taken paint some pulls from the the walls in the cabin that show all the different layers because I love that paint was never removed it was just painted over and over and over and different paints from different ages have different chemical signatures so mostly it was done by the boffins in the lab but there are also some documentary sources that tell you what colors were being used by the Navy at certain times what were maybe given I a standard you know free paint and I kept and good use for that you're often seen it can you can't describe the the end she Roman The Great to have in place 1st thing you walk into is the secretary's cabin where Nelson secretary would have kept all those books and written up as letters and things like that then you come into his dining area which is a cabin that's as wide as the ship is in the after and and then through again you're into day cabin and that was the large transom windows at the back of the ship so it's.
