Katarina Johnson Thompson would take any medal tonight but she is going to fall short yet again. We thought Katarina Johnson thompsons medal hopes were over after a poor start to the Heptathlon Competition yesterday. That was mainly because in her favoured event, the highjump, she performed terribly, well down on her previous best. That lifted her back into the medal places, something that looked highly unlikely yesterday. Of all the heptathletes, she was down in 20th place in the javelin and that meant she fell out of the medal places and she is now 240 points from the bronze medal position which is a lot to make up. It looks like fourth place or fifth place, the best she can hope for. We will go down to the podium. The last five k, they kept the same distance, it was frustrating. Maybe i left it a little bit too late. I wanted to get a medal and i ran for that, but fourth is still pretty good, i guess.
