From tooting in south london. Ican i can see you sipping coffee while you are waiting to come in airport to tell, how did this all begin . We know as senior sister at georges, weve known her quite a few yea rs. Weve known her quite a few years. Our kids went to School Together and she is amazing, she runs regularly to charity. She sent out an email earlier in the week, just saying, we need support, the nurses need you or some chocolates, to keep up you or some chocolates, to keep up morale. After just up morale. Afterjust over 2a hours, she got three huge bean bags full of chocolate. We thought, maybe you need something a little healthier. I work with schools and have a community network. I thought, i will Just Community network. I thought, i willjust quickly community network. I thought, i will just quickly set a community network. I thought, i willjust quickly set a page up. And in two hours, we had 600. We thought, will bring them some nice hot pizzas, public not the healthiest but they really appreciated it. Kind ofjust snowballed from there. A friend of i said, why dont we support the local restau ra nts, dont we support the local restaurants, so we are raising money, putting it back into the community. And here we are. Weve got the support of the local rugby club, when they sought what were doing. Now ten year old has been playing by ten year old has been playing rugby there for years. They supplied us with so much help. And people and drivers. To eve ryo ne we and people and drivers. To everyone we know. Theyve been amazing. Everyone wants to help the nurses. Which is fantastic. This is our people are pulling together, to try and help one another but it sounds like a full timejob. What were another but it sounds like a full time job. What were the two of you doing before you launched this Community Project . We had a golf travel business and as you can imagine, there is a much demand. I worked the cadence so i worked on a variety of projects. As with social distancing. You mentioned you have a ten year old son, is that right . You also homeschooling . We havent had a chance to do that, sorry, sorry. The school had been brilliant, they provided him with links but he has helped deliver some of the food down the other day, carrying the stop and the restaurants. Our 18 year old hasjust stop and the restaurants. Our 18 year old has just come stop and the restaurants. Our 18 year old hasjust come back from her first year of law school a little early. And our 14 year old who runs, even runs for surrey. He is going to struggle being indoors because hes used to being out all his friends. I know exactly what you mean, i got three boys as well, i, i2 and nine so keeping them inside is a challenge but in terms of what might happen next, where do you see this going . Youve raised 30,000 already. This has a future, doesnt it, beyond coronavirus . The last couple of days, weve been taking stock on how we could first of all maintain what we are doing for georges in the long term because were not just georges in the long term because were notjust in it for week or a month. Because were notjust in it forweek ora month. I because were notjust in it for week or a month. I think this is going to be weeks and weeks and weeks. We have to promise ourfirst weeks and weeks. We have to promise our First Priority is local. The kids ward, i want to help everyone. So difficult. If we have more funds, maybe we can do something a bit bigger. But we got lots of local businesses as i said with huge amounts of businesses as i said with huge amounts of resources businesses as i said with huge amounts of resources behind them getting behind us. Some of them getting behind us. Some of the fun really fundraising its getting behind us. Going to hopefully give us access because obviously with the lockdown, its going to make it more difficult for the team was started putting together to get around. I would imagine. You may hear from even around. I would imagine. You may hearfrom even more around. I would imagine. You may hear from even more today. We got the audience watching in the uk but also around the world, inspired by what you have begun. Tell us, the London Hospitals were serving right now and do you know how they are getting on the staff, dealing with patients en masse . Theyve been struggling. It started off with the fact that, the really simple fact, that within the hospitals themselves, some of the food providers were closing down for obvious reasons. What started off, can you send us chocolates . Its become a real need. They can and they dont have time to leave the wards to go find food and when they were going out after, the supermarkets were empty. It very quickly became a real, real need for those. We are setting up a food bank for them as well. Toilet roll, that they should have to chase around that. Tampons. Everything they need. Shopping for themselves, cove nt Garden Market need. Shopping for themselves, covent Garden Market traders arrived yesterday. They would like to see if we can sponsor in theirfora week. Like to see if we can sponsor in their for a week. Providing for a nurse. I could see a huge passion and enthusiasm in so much energy is invested in all of this. Ijust much energy is invested in all of this. I just wanted to ask you financially, how are you doing if you dont mind me asking, because you are running your own business own management consultant, golf travel. Thats not going to be happening for some time. At the end of the day, weve gotten through other crises. We will figure something out. Obviously there is the help the government has announced, mortgage holidays, you can claim to various things. Havent even thought of it. We are in this bubble of helping the nurses locally and Everything Else thats going on, we hear snippets, we had boriss voice in the background but its reallyjust become the focus of how many people we can get to, how many we can feed salute and think of eating themselves. If anybody wants to get in touch or contact you,. Our twitter feed is criticalnhs, and that is where we are posting when we make jobs. If you want to donate there is all listed there. We havent done that yet. Go to that, find that. We wish you both the very best of luck and well done in initiating this provision for nurses, for critical staff at st georges and other hospitals. All the very best. And thank you as well for your company. If youre watching us here on bbc one, then you canjoin youre watching us here on bbc one, then you can join the brea kfast tea m one, then you can join the Breakfast Team in iran about five minutes time if youre watching us around the world, i will be back at the top of the other with all the latest news. Very little weather change during the next 24 36 hours and that means for england and wales, for many of you, blue skies will continue to dominate, a bit of warmth from that spring sunshine too, whereas for scotland, Northern Ireland, like we saw yesterday, rather cloudy skies. And for some its going to be particularly wet. Especially the closer you are to this weather front, which will straddle the north west of scotland throughout, and it will take a while for that to gradually shift. That could cause some minorflooding. Further south, High Pressure remains dominant and to take us into the start of today, it means where weve got the clearest of the skies, the chilliest conditions. A sprinkle of frost across england and wales, with temperatures very close to freezing. Sunshine dominating here once again. Whereas further north, scotland and Northern Ireland, cant rule out some sunshine to the east and north of Higher Ground but rain will come and go, particularly across the highlands and more especially the hebrides, later into skye, orkney, and shetland and its across the far north west. Gale force winds with that rain. There is the chance of some minorflooding. As i said, the odd splash of rain elsewhere across scotland, Northern Ireland. Most will be dry. A bit more cloud to the far western fringes of england and wales but for most, blue skies overhead once again. And it will be an even warmer day than we saw on monday. Temperatures could hit around 17 degrees in North East Wales and around merseyside. So a great day to get those windows open, let a bit of fresh air through. Temperatures, scotland, Northern Ireland, 10 12 degrees. Theyre not going to drop too much as we go through tuesday night into wednesday, because the cloud, the breeze will be in place and further outbreaks of rain persisting across the North West Highlands especially. Away from that, though, a bit more cloud, Northern England and north wales, the temperatures not dropping as much as itll do to take us into this morning. But its across the midlands, southern england, in particular, where were likely to see a frost to start wednesday. Lots of sunshine once again for england and wales though on wednesday. Still fairly cloudy for scotland and Northern Ireland. The rain, though, will have eased off in the far north west. Could even brighten up here. But there will still be some splashes of rain elsewhere in scotland and Northern Ireland to take us through the day. Temperatures still could get close to 16 17 degrees for england and wales. To take us into thursday, there will be a bit more mist and fog around across parts of scotland, Northern England, with lighter winds. Plenty of sunshine, though, for most across england and wales. Still fairly cloudy for scotland, Northern Ireland. But most places will be dry by this stage. Its starting to turn colder from the north. And that trend continues towards the end of the week. This weather front here is just basically a zone of cloud which will work its way southward and, as High Pressure starts to build in behind it, well, thats when we start to see the winds switch round into a northerly direction, potentially bringing some of the coldest air weve seen for a while. That, though, will be offset by the strength of the march sunshine. But, either way, as you can see from some of these city forecasts, giving you a flavour, temperatures back into single figures widely this weekend and one or two flurries of snow possible. Good morning. Welcome to breakfast with Louise Minchin and dan walker. Our headlines today the Prime Minister announces the toughest restrictions on daily life in living memory. At present, there are just no easy options. The way ahead is hard, and it is still true that many lives will sadly be lost. People must stay at home for at least three weeks they will only be allowed to go out to shop for basics, take daily exercise and travel for medical attention or essential work. No clothes shopping, no haircuts, no trips to the library. Most outlets must close under these measures. Well look at the pressure on supermarkets, banks
