things have been turning progressively colder through the weekend. it's only a short lived cold snap. and whilst we start monday underneath this area of high pressure, it's the only day of the week that we will see the set up. i'm sure you can see the next atlantic system waiting in the wings. and as it pushes its way eastwards through monday night and into tuesday, we move away from that cold, dry start to something wetter and windier as the week wears on, but also becoming milder. but it will be a cold and frosty start to monday. still a few wintry showers just clipping northern and eastern coast. they will tend to fade. good deal of sunshine for many. some cloud developing across parts of wales and south west england could see a few showers. but also this frontal system moving into the northern isles could bring some rain, sleet and snow. and once again, it's a cold feeling day, but the winds won't be as strong as what we saw through sunday. and at first through monday night, clear skies turning cold quite quickly. then you'll notice the cloud gathering in the west ahead of this frontal system, which will then be extending its way
