Peter boxall has been searching for his missing teenage son for 32 years. My son lee absolutely loved football. Hes a great supporter of sutton united football club. Sadly, in 1988, september, lee was keen to go and see a football match at the start of the season, and he went with a friend to sutton. Lees friend changed his mind and went home. And sadly he didnt come home. Peters case is one of 86,000 that occur in the uk each year. But last summer he received help from an unexpected source. Italian club roma got involved by posting videos of missing children when they announced new player signings. Peters son was one of those featured, and although it didnt help find lee, six children were found, including three from london. Raising awareness of missing people is a source of great pride to the players here at their rome training base. So what was your reaction when you first heard one of the kids featured in your video had been found . Yeah, i think it was a powerful moment for me. Obviously, its an amazing thing for the family, but i feel like just even being a small part of it and helping to spread that message. Being a father, not knowing where your child is is one of the most toughest things to have to deal with in life, and i wouldnt wish that on anybody.
