at the time, when i was young, i didn't realise that, you know, | i was a part of the lgbtq+ - community, but i knew that i had something in common with him. i knew that i wanted to skate like he did, j to have the lines that he did with his arms and his legs, i and just the absolute technical perfection that john curry- was all about. john curry was such a pioneer and such a role model in so many different ways. breaking barriers, engaging with dance choreographers, bringing musicality in a new way to an art form, which was very much pure sport to begin with, being lgbtq and a role model in that sense and pioneering and breaking through and it not being about what a person was, but who they were in their own self and celebrating those ideas and those traditions and being so revolutionary and so brave and risk—taking. because john was doing something that he truly believed in and truly i loved and it was his absolute passion, people saw that - and they felt that, you know, - and he inspired so many skaters,
