There is no Confirmation That, within the last few minutes, Rescue Workers carrying the five year old boy have emerged from a tunnel that was dug to rescue him from a deep well which he fell down whilst playing around it on tuesday. At this stage, the boys condition is unknown. But among those you saw gathered around the entrance to the well, we understand are a medical team on site ready to treat him and a helicopter was also at the scene earlier i dont know if we can see it now, but a helicopter was at the scene, presumably to be able to whisk him off for emergency treatment. The operational leaders, the rescuers, have been giving updates throughout the day, and on friday at one of the leaders said they were almost there and they had been working nonstop for three days with tiredness inevitably kicking in but the whole rescue team is hanging on. This is a small town, in the north of morocco. And the boy came to fall down to welcome his father was repairing it at the time of the accident and one can only imagine the devastation that he felt, the boys father and mother saying they were both devastated and very worried and he said, in that one moment i took my eyes off him, he fell into the well, i havent slept a wink. This moment must be a moment of extreme emotion for the boys family. Let me just explain to you and demonstrate actually why the Rescue Effort has been so complicated and difficult. It is the narrowness of the well that has been hampering efforts. But within the last few minutes we have had Confirmation That the five year old boy, the Rescue Workers have carried him out of the well where he has been stuck 32 metres below ground, about 100 feet deep since tuesday. And it has been a huge Rescue Effort, partly because of the complications of the terrain and the fear of possible landslides slowing the digging and obviously they have had to do that very carefully indeed. But also reaching the boy, given the size of the well, impossible for an adult to actually get down there. And of course their concern was that if a landslide were accidentally triggered you would have a situation where you could make it harder to reach the boy, he could of course have been injured by that process. They did manage to lower a camera into the well on thursday and that footage on thursday appeared to show the boy alive and conscious, although he also appeared to be suffering from some head injuries. We should stress that it is unclear what the boys condition is at this time. A few minutes ago we saw a great deal of activity among rescuers with two lines of Rescue Workers either side of those who were bringing him and it looked like he was being pulled out on a Stretcher Being taken to a medical team on Standby Waiting to treat the boy. If you have followed this for the past few days, you will know just how much it has gripped people in morocco, in north africa, and indeed around the world. As the boy who fell 32 metres, which is 100 feet down the opening of this well was trapped for five days as rescuers made every effort to reach him. They managed to lower a camera at one point and they said it appeared to show him lying on his site. It was lowered a few days ago and of course the other point was they needed to make sure that he was getting enough oxygen he had some food and water. All of those were lowered to an oxygen mask, food and water, all lowered into the world but those leading the operation said they were not able to say for certain whether the boy had been able to use the supplies. So the pictures you are seeing now are from the last few minutes and as you can see, a bustle of activity all of a sudden and you can hear cheering and the excitement. Shouting. You can hear the relief among those who had gathered rescuers, volunteers and well wishers, people there to show their support with a vigil being held outside and you can see in the middle, you canjust see held outside and you can see in the middle, you can just see the stretcher. Unfortunately the picture slightly pixel eights but you get that sense of the movement, the rescuers, some clearly who have been working for several days to rescue this young boy. I dare say, even as an adult, imagine being trapped for five days, not knowing if anyone would reach you, and then imagine how much more terrifying that would be as a young child, this boy who has been in that well since tuesday. You can hear the euphoria and the relief. Among the crowds who have gathered. As he is whisked away to be checked, to be treated by the medical Response Team thatis treated by the medical Response Team that is on standby, has been on standby on site, ready to treat him. We dont know his condition at the moment. We do know that, early in the week, a couple of days ago, he was seen to be alive and conscious, that was on thursday. The hope is that was on thursday. The other thing to say about this region, the north of morocco, it becomes bitterly, bitterly cold in the winter so that will also have been a concern for them. That will have added a sense of urgency to the Rescue Effort. As they were digging that tunnel, the rescuers were placing. This is why it was so complicated, they were placing concrete and steel pipes as they dug to allow them to pull him safely out of the well. Their concern of course was that the tunnels they had dug would cave in, any sort of landslide would cave in, any sort of landslide would potentially injure the boy can make it more risky for those involved in the rescue, and hamper efforts. Even if people from the rescue team, they promised that they will come to the media and talk to them as soon as they have news. But until now, we dont have any confirmation. We dont know what happened exactly and in what kind of shape rayan is. I saw a lot of people there holding one of the rescue teams aloft and he said he was alive. But i cant confirm that rayanis was alive. But i cant confirm that rayan is alive or dead but definitely he should be in a very good shape after nearly spending five days in this condition.
