because there�*s a lot more television than there ever has been before and we need to sort of expand what we�*re doing within that... is the audience ready for it? yeah, i hope so. i think they�*re quite hungry for it. as you said, there�*s been quite a lot of a dissection of a certain kind of masculinity for a long time — brilliantly, with some of the greatest works of art of all time — and i think we�*rejust about at a point where we can start to dissect the idea of femininity as much, with as much nuance, criticism, celebration, as all of those things as well. and that�*s what makes good art, notjust sort of, you know... ..putting women on screen, but having them just be lovely and undramatic, that doesn�*t help anybody. and i hate suzie was an extremely female—centric production, wasn�*t it? yeah. imean... at every level — acting, producing, directing, the whole thing. totally. it was a really rare experience because we had heads of department... all of our heads of
