"he was pretty much losing his mind." oh, i had a nervous breakdown. and i went to... i was at a psychologist for about ten months, five days a week. why? was there a self—destructive element within you? or what was it? no. the whole thing with the psychologist was, you know, i said to the psychologist... she goes, "why are you here?" i said, "because people are calling me a star, "and i can't deal with that." right. that's very interesting. and, again, it seems to me we can't discuss your career, and we're going to go right through it if we have time, but we can't discuss it without coming back to this relationship withjim steinman, because he was writing the songs — certainly wrote bat out of hell — you did some more collaboration with him, but oftentimes...after that, you did your own albums too. but the truth is, if one looks at it, your albums withoutjim steinman were never as successful — and most folks would say never as good — as the work you've done withjim steinman. yeah, they probably weren't, but, believe me, i wouldn't have put it
