my first thought was, - "god, mark, i hope you weren't "on there, mate". he was. that was tough. yeah. we knew — we knew that our guys were on that ship. - that was a tough one. it took us actually about three days before we knew exactly what was what — who was missing, who was wounded and who we had ashore — so it was quite a... ..a difficult time for us, i would say. it was a dark day for the welsh guards. the regiment suffered more losses than any other in the falklands. but the war was far from won. some of the costliest battles were still to come.
