You consider people observing that meanwhile west ham united vice chairman karen brady say the club have 8 players two metre distance when they are out who are showing symptoms of coronavirus. Brady says all the players are now taking exercise or going for that in self isolation and seem to be well. In italy, juventus players necessary groceries, i think that have agreed to the club stopping their salaries for four any measure that has been taken to months because of the financial implications of the pandemic. Is a good thing. I think the most powerful means of getting that england womens cricket message home is by the media captain Heather Knight has signed up for the nhs volunteer scheme. Coverage of what is going on in hospitals, when we see Healthcare Professionals putting their lives on like many people. The line somewhat in the treatment knight returned to england from australia ten days ago, after the t20 world cup. She also said that stu d e nts of joining to become a hub to the students of key workers. Is it safe to bring all staff and children people like her are not doing an awful lot so it is a great example together in one place or is that not for everyone. Thank you, holly. We increase the chances of catching coronavirus . It is a very will be back a little bit later. Interesting question. I can well be back with the headlines at seven oclock. Now, Victoria Derbyshire presents understand why schools may be having a bbc news special with more information and Health Advice to operate in this way for their on the coronavirus outbreak. Business continuity so we are seeing lots of organisations that are having to pull their resources to keep the facility running and it is hello and welcome to a valid point that if youre mixing this special programme. Im Victoria Derbyshire. A valid point that if youre mixing a large number of teachers and stay with us as we try and tell pupils, does that not increase the you as much as we can spread of the virus. I would imagine about the latest on coronavirus that the sensible thing is to to help you in so that you can share the information with others. Have. Try to keep the individuals apart as much as possible by using outdoor space and observing the hand washing instructions that we have all been given and looking at. The main advice to stop the virus from spreading, looking at your resource as a group wash your hands often, for around 20 seconds, of teachers to see who is a key to avoid touching yourface and maintain social distancing, which is making sure areas of around be present at any one time. What two metres between you and anyone about protective equipment. Whether else, as laura foster explains. Teachers should be issued with protective equipment if they are politicians and scientists and even mixing with different children and whether gps feel it should be issued celebrities want to explain asa whether gps feel it should be issued that we have to operate social as a standard . Whether gps feel it should be issued as a standard . I think anybody, any distancing which means no coming into contact with people more key worker could argue they should than they should need to, so no more visitors at your house, visiting other peoples houses, have protective equipment but the going to restaurants, pubs, clubs, sporting events, you get the idea. Reality is that we are constantly if you can work from home the government says you should and your employer should getting messages that it is coming help you do this. If you cant work from home, through but there clearly is a supply issue. I think the protective avoid busy travel times. Equipment needs to go first and you can go out for a walk and buy foremost essentials but you need to stay equipment needs to go first and fore m ost to equipment needs to go first and foremost to those who are the most at least two metres from everyone else. Exposed, people make in critical imagine you are holding a big broom, you will be the correct distance care, a e, cascaded down than to away if you cant touch anyone with it. The people who need to practice social distancing the most are those anybody else who has to have over 70, anyone with an underlying face to face contact in their line Health Condition and pregnant women. Really, everyone should do it of work. We have received some guidance from Public Health england to stop the virus spreading and reduce yesterday detailing that in primary the pressure on Health Services. If you have less direct contact with others you are reducing ca re yesterday detailing that in primary the threat of catching the virus care it is highly likely we will not be given the ff p2 or ffp three and passing it onto someone else. So thats social distancing. We are hearing a lot masks and asked to work with fluid about quarantine, but social distancing and quarantine resista nt masks and asked to work with fluid resistant masks and we have been are not the same thing. Told we will not have the gowns and a big problem with coronavirus we should read t shirt that come is that you can have it but not know about it, meaning you can go down to the elbows and adopt hand about your day as you have always done, feel fine but actually infect and arm washing techniques to around 2 3 people within a week. What happens is those people go on to infect another 2 3 people protect ourselves. How do you feel each, those people then infect others and thats how about that . It has left a lot of gps the virus spreads. Look at what happens feeling anxious that we have been when people stay at home and practice social distancing. Unduly exposed and, as a consequence of that, quite a few of us are for instance, if this person did not resorting to source our own go down to their friends house and if this person worked from home, if this person did not go makeshift pp equipment. It is a to the corner shop, if this person great concern. Extra worries for didnt visit their mother, this reduces the number of cases gps. This question from michael, he from 406 to just 15. As the number of cases goes down reflects lots of e mails. Can i so does the pressure on doctors catch when a virus from a postal and nurses and on the health service. Worker delivering letters to me . This will make the difference michael has decided to leave his between People Living and people dying. Post outside for two days to reduce you can go out to exercise once a day and fetch food and medicine the chances of the virus passing on. But only with people you live with. What is your advice when we receive stay at home and stay at least two mail . I am hearing a lot of this metres away from people if you do have to go out. From community groups. I do not its not such a difficult thing. Think there is any robust evidence thats the message from the government, to keep yourself apart so we do not as to how long this virus can live spread and catch the coronavirus but unless youre two metres tall on in note objects. 0n objects. Its hard to know what that looks like without a measuring tape. When you open your post, however its about three steps long you have left, two hours or two so, one, two, three. Days, that you discard of the enough space so that you can put a bed between you. Surrounding package an envelope and 0r two shopping trolleys. Go immediately and wash your hands for 20 seconds. We do know that the you should not be able to touch anyone with a broom. Virus is killed by soap and adopting thats great in theory but how does this hand hygiene will protect you that look in the real world . If youre in the street thats hopefully from any contagion that about half a parking space and if youre in the countryside could be transmitted through the that is about two regular benches. Postal service. There is so much if you are exercising you may have to come off the path and cross about this virus do not know about. The road but that will add to the exercise. How 0n public transport do not sit about this virus do not know about. H ow ofte n about this virus do not know about. How often should a change the in the same row and have space protective gloves . What is best in front and behind you. In an office you need to be four practice . Lots of people wearing desk chairs apart and when shopping do not do it close together. These guys but you are changing them and washing your hands again then it many shops have rules on how many people can be in at one time, negates the purpose of them, doesnt and make sure you keep it . Yes, the glove will afford some the two metre distance. Have deliveries left at the doorstep protection and it is not the case and if you are still not sure if you are keeping enough distance then add a bit more. That every hour or two hours, any or see if you can hit specific timeframe they should be them with a broom changed. There is a risk of course washing our hands and keeping clear of other people, both are vital to stop that when you change the gloves that the spread of the virus, you could sort of contaminate your but what about other things hand so you need to remove them in a you are constantly in touch with . Like your phone. Matter to ensure that the outside of the glove. They are not that washing your hands is vital and if youre worried about germs on your phone you can clean it effectively with simple soap and water. Im a microbiologist and i will show you are not touching it and removed you how to clean your phone. Carefully at the rest. I would suggest that these gloves are kept on until you go on a break and then turn your phone off and remove the case. You should take them off, wash your all the major phone makers warn hands and during that period that against using chemicals, hand gels and abrasive wipes you are working and wearing these because that can damage the protective coating gloves, avoid touching your face, on the screen. Eyes, nose, which we know is where damping a microfibre cloth in water and soap and gently rub the surface of the phone with the damp cloth. This contagion can spread and get into our respiratory tract. Thank take care not to get moisture in any of the openings because even a water resistant phones will lose you. It keeps coming back to washing their protection over time. Your hands for 22nd. A couple of just using soap and water can remove bacteria from your phone and we can test that by using this device. People have said borisjohnson has got covid 19 and now he is writing it gives a reading of relative light to everybody. I think he is not units and that is a measure of the activity on your phone so the higher the number the more stuffing the letters himself. All germs are present. We tested these phones the letters heading out. The clocks and their cases before and after, cleaning with soapy water, and they were all significantly clea ner afterwards. Have gone forward. What is happening in the world of sport . Very little. On a surgical surface we would want to get a figure of 50 very little. Back to you. Laughter. Or less, and all of our phones and cases have readings lower than that. If you have an iphone, apple says you can clean it a lot of people speculating about with 70 alcohol wipes. These are the ones you can get when spot may start again. Already online or from computer shops. There are also devices you can use people picking up on interviews. To sterilise your phone using a type of radiation it shouldnt ease but some phones could be sports. Discoloured over time. Theres a lot of talk about an interview the uefa boss has given to an italian newspaper, with all of these methods as soon in which he does admit the football season in europe as you touch your phone you will get could be lost if they cant get it germs by conduit so make sure restarted by the end ofjune. You keep washing your hands regularly and thoroughly. Aleksannder ceferin told la republica said theres a plan a, b and c the three options what about other surfaces are to start again in mid may, injune or at the end ofjune. Where the virus may lurk . This is jim reid. There are two main ways of catching coronavirus. Now he then says, the first is particles in the air, if we dont succeed in restarting, someone breathes out and the virus is spread in droplets and a single the season will probably be lost. Ican i canjust cough can produce 3,000 droplets. I can just hear the i canjust hear the liverpool fans panic. Liverpool fans you breathe it in dont panicjust yet he does go on to contradict himself. And become infected. He doesnt rule out playing matches this is why governments behind closed doors or even across the world are telling us extending the season. Heres bbc Football Correspondent to stay two metres away from each john murray with his take on this. This is the first indication other to stop the spread. From uefa that the current season might not be able to be completed the second way is through something and it comes from uefas president , Aleksannder Ceferin, scientists call fomite transmission, who has been speaking to the italian newspaper, those virus particles land on a hard la repubblica. Surface and are spread he says this season could be when an infectious lost if its unable to restart by the end ofjune. Person touches it. Because a person is shedding the virus from their nose and throat and they re coughing president ceferin is quoted it out into the air, as saying there are a number that means anything they touch of options for concluding the season, although he does say will be covered in this virus. There is the possibility if you come along later and touch of resuming it again the same surface you could pick up when next season was due to start. From that surface a collection of these virus particles, a Uefa Working Group is currently looking for solutions if there are enough of them, for the completion and you can transfer them to your nose and eyes of the current season. And you could infect yourself. Now something i imagine well see it is still early days but a team in the United States has run tests more of in the coming weeks Manchester City have handed over on corona already. The use of their Etihad Stadium to the nhs during the pandemic. They found the virus that causes its understood the stadium covid 19 can remain active Conference Rooms and executive boxes on some surfaces. And this situation you cannot personally be in control of and i need to find something so, how do we urgently get access i can be in control of and go to more of these machines . Forward with that. And hopefully, it will work can we manufacture more and picking our own techniques of them in this country . For coping in the coming weeks will be important. Jen copestake has been looking coronavirus has been affecting at some of the possible solutions. The way of life for tens of millions the uk government has put a call out around the world and perhaps one to big businesses to help group who would have felt it manufacture new ventilators. Already, dyson have answered, a little more than usual this week saying they are hoping to start whether thousands of athletes production on 10,000 training for the tokyo 0lympics. They have been postponed to 2021. Machines by mid april. But while most sport may have come to a halt because of the virus but will this be enough, soon enough . Teams of engineers and doctors pandemic, many teams are trying are also trying to come up with more Immediate Solutions to this problem, which could be cheaper to remain active in their community. And more portable. We spoke to some of them this week. Most are committed to making their designs open source and freely Stevenage Football Club probably have more challenges than any other available, once they have been tested. These machines need to work 24 hours because they are bottom a day for up to 14 days of the football league, at a time per patient. But they are trying to lead the way in switching their resources, as the bbcsjoe wilson reports. Professional football, north hertfordshire. In adversity, what else to do but adapt . And so, stevenage fcs captain so set to respirate 15. And central defender a team from the university of oxford and Kings College london have becomes food deliverer. There are people around the world. And is driven into this box. That have got a lot of people they can rely on, but there are people, especially in this inside the box is a community, that dont standard ambulance bag. Have anyone to rely on, these bags are normally compressed and its good for the club to all come together and help by hand to provide air to a patient, towards the one cause. But in this case, we compress just a friendly voice at this it using the pressure time can be crucial. From our air supply. Stevenages foundation the device is made from 40 will continue to take calls, offer advice, even when staff components, 90 of which are start working from home. Off the shelf, meaning they are already in the nhs supply i have had a few people call up saying im really sorry chain and theoretically easy to procure. That we are taking up your time 0xvent will now be tested in birmingham, and may cost less and im saying, no, thats not a problem than £1,000 per machine, thats exactly what we are here compared to tens of thousands of pounds for ones in to do, just talk to you. Use in hospitals now. Lots of football clubs are helping we want something thats simple and that can be built. In various ways at the moment. And sure, i can make a ventilator but here, the perspective is unique. Football was suspended with stevenage admittedly as fancy as you like, at the bottom, last place in league two. A couple of weeks ago, but ill get it to you in october, we might have even referred to that if thats all right. As a crisis. Now we really know what a crisis is. Thats not an option. 0ur League Position is just out of the window. Were not worried about that. In france, a collective have created were really worried about making what they call the minimal universal sure the next time we kick respirator. A football here at the lamex stadium that as many of our staff, players and supporters and volunteers are all in a healthy position to come back and support us. Theyre confident it could enter the mass Production Phase in the coming days. Theyve already shown it without money from matches, to a paris hospital. The future is, to say its made of 3 d printed components the least, a challenge. And hasnt yet been medically but clubs like stevenage are nothing certified, but they say without their communities. The support is mutual. There is a need to innovate quickly right now, that may be in a crisis. Measured in sandwiches. When you need to do a tracheotomy, after all, the opponent when you dont have the kit to do is the same for everyone. Joe wilson, bbc news, stevenage. It, you use that a pen. Hello, im neera perez. 0k . And we are doing something that is almost similar to that. Its, ok, its not a full feature respirator, but it may help save people, so we must try it. This attitude to try and iterate quickly is echoed in spain, which has faced a rising death toll. This ventilator is also made from 3d printable parts. Im a writer and journalist and this a group working out of the Leitat Technology Centre only is what im going to do this week. Started the design a week ago. Is for a doctor called annie. In lithuania, people are working her partner told me on a simple 3d printable respiratory that she loves brussels sprouts. She loves brussels sprouts. Device that doesnt something that rhymes with sprouts may be doubts . And if you ever need electricity. The idea was inspired by designs from japan that have been tested on the International Space station. Have your doubts. If the prototype succeeds, they want to make it freely available to those most in need. When we think about third world countries, where, like, im worried about my parents, there is, like, extremely huge they live in the south of spain populations, and theyre not that and im worried about my friends. Developed in the medical field, people will die due to a lack of equipment. They have lost theirjobs. We also saw a sophisticated solution this has been very useful to control the panic. Which could be made quickly. Embroidery is also great for anxiety. In canada, thornhill medical, ifinished all this whose Battery Powered ventilators are used by the us military, during the quarantine look at that have been asked by the government there to ramp up production. Their portable intensive care device is Battery Powered and generates its own at the moment, there are no parties to be had and events have all but stopped so that means oxygen from the air. I havent had any work. Im always cooking regardless and im always in the kitchen. Doing something. Theyre already ce marked and fda above all else, it isjust helping approved, and the designer believes they have the expertise to make them quickly in adapted automotive or aerospace factories people in a small way. Around the world. If everybody puts the pedal to the metal and goes full speed, i think this could be we know she also collect little ramped up in very large numbers pretty quickly. We all have a job to do, not only are nurses and doctors coming back into the nhs. 0ur volu nteers coming back into the nhs. 0ur volunteers are really important to us, working as part of our team. But the members of the public also have a responsibility. Please, please keep washing your hands and please stay at home. It will save lives. Ruth, we have been so moved by the numbers, 6,000 nurses coming back into the trade to help with the national average. Its probably not surprising that the numbers here are rising. It is a big global city, well connected, lots of people coming and going. The numbers are high and rising, but they are under control in terms of the nhs being able to respond. If the numbers continue to rise as expected, this hospital will come online as necessary. In the excel, they are a little bit more further advanced in building their Nightingale Hospital. We area building their Nightingale Hospital. We are a little bit behind them because it was only confirmed on friday we would do this here in birmingham. This is covering the whole of the West Midlands, notjust the city. My own experience in birmingham over the last few days is that it has been respect shown to the government advice. We are managing the situation as best we can. It is new, we havent done this before. We are all doing the best we can. We have seen pictures of the hospital being pieced together rapidly. What is your impression of it . Its incredibly impressive. I came here on tuesday for the first time. It was an empty hole. What the army and the nhs contractors have done in four days is amazing. It really does look like a hospital now. Have you had to have any top up training ahead of this . Certainly. All of our people are experienced first aiders. They are having an additional several days of training specific to this and they will be carefully mentored and managed by the nhs nurses in this hospital.
