In sport, Manchester United have won the Europa League for the first time. They beat ajax 2 0 to ensure their qualification for next seasons Champions League. And carol has the weather. Good morning. Yesterday was the warmest day of the year so far and todayit warmest day of the year so far and today it will be hotter. For many of us, a lot of sunshine after the cloud this morning but there will be a few exceptions will top we will tell you where in 15 minutes. First our main story. The investigation into the Manchester Bomb Attack continues. Police are searching for a network linked to the attacker. Lets bring you up today with the latest developments. The identities of two more victims have now been confirmed. They are 17 year old Chloe Rutherford and her 19 year old boyfriend liam curry. Late last night there was another arrest in nuneaton, while a woman arrested yesterday has now been released without charge. Overnight, police carried out a controlled explosion during a search of a property in moss side. Later today, a minutes silence will be held to remember those caught up in the bombing. Our correspondent wyre davies has the latest on the investigation. Another arrest, this time in nuneaton as armed police from Greater Manchester and forces nationwide closing in on what they say is a network surrounding the manchester bomb. It is not clear how critical or peripheral to the investigation many of these latest arrest are. But one thing police wa nt arrest are. But one thing police want above all else is to find whoever supplied or build the bomb that Salman Rushdie decimated with such salman abedi decimated with such salman abedi decimated with such devastating effect. At the highest levels of whitehall they described the leaking of what should be confidential shared information from American Intelligence Sources Asa from american intelligence sources as a Breach Of Trust that undermines the investigation. Strong words that could jeopardise future cooperation in such sensitive areas. It worries me greatly and in fact i made known my concerns about it to the us ambassador. It is unacceptable to me that here there is a live investigation taking place and we cannot have Information Being put in the Public Domain that is not the direct control of British Police and security services. A clearer picture is now merging of Who Salman Abedi was and his descent into radical islam. In libya, where his family originally came from, his younger brother and his father are reported to have been arrested. The names and stories more of those who were killed on monday are slowly being released. 17 year old Chloe Rutherford and her boyfriend liam curry who was 19 were said to be inseparable. Relatives say they lived to go to new places and explore different cities. It all still feels rather raw. Manchester as the city and its people have been knocked sideways by what happened this week. Amid the visibly heightened security, things do not look or feel normal. And heightened security, things do not look orfeel normal. And despite heightened security, things do not look or feel normal. And despite the progress made by police in the last two days, there is still a lot we do not know. Wyre davies is In Manchesters st anns square where many tributes have been left for those who died. There have been a number of developments and a number of arrests. The police teams have been out across manchester and further afield last night. Most important thing to say is that the woman was arrested yesterday has since been released without charge. A number of other suspects in custody. Everybody is exhausted, particularly the families of those who died and were injured and also the police themselves. They will keep this level of security and intensity until they are certain that everybody is safe. And that means finding out whether procure, made and gave the bomb to the bomber who killed himself and 22 other people on monday night. Here there is a growing field of flowers and tributes to the victims of the bombing and, most importantly, lead on this morning at 11 oclock across the country there will be one Minute S Silence to honour those who died In Manchester on monday night. As we heard there are many more tributes planned for those caught up in the bonynge last night. Last night at a vigil the mother of 15 year old Olivia Campbell made an emotional appeal. As a family were united we are standing strong. I asked her friends, strangers, relatives, to do the same. Please stay together. Do not let this beat any of us. I do not let this beat any of us. I do not want my daughter to be a victim. Over the course of this mornings programme well be hearing more about some of the victims of the attack, and well hear from some of the Health Workers who helped the people affected. Manchester united have dedicated their victory in last nights Europa League final to the victims of mondays Terror Attack. Thousands of fans travelled to stockholm to watch the match, which was a highly emotional affair on and off the pitch. This is for manchester. This performance, it is for manchester. Everybody. It was very emotional because of what happened. It shows people how we are still united. To be honest, quite an emotional night. I still feel numb. Sorry, i cannot speak. It shows that we can come together as a city and a nation and show our spirit. We will not be beaten like that. To be honest it helps but at the end of the day we have done it for them and that is for manchester and that is it. The Prime Minister will meet President Trump in brussels today, where shes expected to raise concerns about the Intelligence Leaks in the us. Hes in brussels to talk to members of the nato Military Alliance and eu officials. After landing in brussels, mr trump met the Belgian King And Queen, as thousands of people demonstrated against his presence in brussels city centre. Low key, local Election Campaigning will take place today ahead of National Campaigning resuming tomorrow. Theres been a pause for two days following the bombing In Manchester on monday evening. Ukip will also launch its manifesto today, after postponing it from yesterday. Lets get more from our Political Correspondent leila nathoo. Understandably, there has been a pause in campaigning. Local Level Campaigning begins again today . That is correct and we can expect a phased return to Election Campaigning from all parties apart from ukip. Locally the local campaigning resumes. And then the National Campaigning resumes tomorrow. Jeremy corbyn, the labour leader, said that it was right that terror did not the rail with a credit process. It is understood that he spoke to theresa may yesterday to co ordinate the restarting of the Election Campaign. He is expected to make a speech tomorrow but i think we can expect the tone of this Election Campaign to be much more restrained, rather than the rough and tumble we have seen so than the rough and tumble we have seen so far fool s dog ukip, however, are going ahead with their ma nifesto however, are going ahead with their Manifesto Launch this morning. There had been scheduled to launch it yesterday but it was postponed. They have decided now to go ahead this morning. We already know some of the policies that have been announced by ukip eight cut to the foreign aid ban, a ban on headscarves, making immigration at a zero level. They are trying now to keep some of almost 4 million supporters who voted for ukip in the last general election now the brexit is a reality. The leader said that the ma nifesto reality. The leader said that the manifesto will be an act of defiance against terrorism was not clearly he thinks that this point is the right time for him to be putting forward what he is calling an uncompromising agenda. Sally is he now with the sport for us. It was always going to be difficult last night, that match. In these circumstances, especially. Certainly. It was also going to be emotional. Anyone who was watching last night and, certainly, if you spread to any football fan, the will of the nation was that manchester dont united won last night. Many of the players and the people who had to go perhaps did not feel like they wanted to go to the final last night. Maybe they did not feel at the start of the game that they wa nted at the start of the game that they wanted to sing. It was quite subdued at the start but they won, they won 20. And at the start but they won, they won 2 0. And that is something for the city to celebrate. Manchester united beat ajax 2 0 to win the final of the Europa League. Goals from paul pogba and Henrikh Mikataryan were enough forJose Mourinhos side as they ensure their qualification for next seasons Champions League. They dedicated the wind to the people of the city. Chelsea have scrapped their planned premier League Victory parade which had been due to take place on sunday through london. The club have released a statement referencing the heightened Security Alert, and said they felt the decision was in everyones best interests. Also feeling that they felt they could not celebrate at the moment. Englands cricketers have continued their good preparation for next weeks Icc Champions Trophy with victory over south africa at headingley in the first one dayer of their three match series. The hosts won by 72 runs. And the frenchman Pierre Rolland has ended a 2 year wait for a victory with a win in the 17th stage of the giro ditalia. The overall lead is still held by tom dumoulin of The Netherlands with only four stages remaining. Britains adam yates is 11th. It is quite interesting, looking at how sporting teams react to such an event such an incident as manchester did. We have games this week as well. That is right. And there was a moment when perhaps the manchester games would not have happened this weekend because of the Security Concerns but they are going ahead. There is an fa cup final at wembley, many big Sporting Events that people will want to go to and want to feel safer and there is very much a feeling at the moment in this country that they should simply go ahead. And, also, you know, and this morning we were reflecting on Manchester Uniteds win last night. It was quite interesting. There was one Minute S Silence to the victims of the attack. The fans chose to do was to sing and chant and it was a moment of rebellion. A wonderful moment. Ifelt a moment moment of rebellion. A wonderful moment. I felt a moment oh, moment of rebellion. A wonderful moment. Ifelt a moment oh, they moment of rebellion. A wonderful moment. I felt a moment oh, they are not going to go quiet. And the nothing what they were doing there we re nothing what they were doing there were just refusing to be controlled and they were just chanting manchester. We will be talking later to the bronze medallist, an olympic bronze medallist who will be competing in the city games. She is supporting manchester and carrying on. Yes, many people think the same, iam certain. On. Yes, many people think the same, i am certain. The time hours 12 minutes past six. Lets catch up with carol and find out what happening with the weather. It was so happening with the weather. It was so hot yesterday. What is happening . Welcome back. It is nice to see you. Yesterday was the warmest day of the year so far. Today it is going to be even hotter than was yesterday also a humid start a we have some cloud around first thing this morning and it will be sunny for most of us. The cloud and some mist and foggy conditions in areas adjacent to the irish tend to melt. So it will be hot. Locally across parts of North West Scotla nd locally across parts of North West Scotland we could hit 28 celsius. We can see, generally, the temperatures we are looking at and is a thing southwards across Northern England and Northern Ireland, again, high temperatures. Except if you are stuck under any lingering cloud. South west love, selfless england, the midlands and towards the south east, again, high temperatures, a lot of sunshine. More sunshine and there was yesterday. You can see 28, possibly a smidgen higher than that. You really will notice it. If he had after the Chelsea Flower Show that the next couple of days, it will be dry and it will be sunny and it will be hot. As we have through this evening and overnight, the High Pressure is still with us, drifting into the north sea and you can see hardly a breath of wind. The Weather Front is waiting in the winds and it will not be a cold night. Tomorrow this is what you can expect. A warm start to the day. The temperatures will rise quickly in the sunshine and then later in the day a Weather Front out towards the west will introduce a bit more in the way of cloud. But a wise, we are looking at 29, is possibly not far away from 30 degrees. As the come further south again temperatures way up into the 20s. Easily into the 20s. An onshore flow it may be a tad cooler along the coastline. As for uv levels, here they are. The sun is very strong at this stage of the year. Generally very high in the south and high for many places. There is not a lot going on in terms of detail with the Weather Forecast because we are the Weather Forecast because we are the High Pressure still much with us, dragging in this warm airfrom the continent. And then we reach saturday when things begin to change. Weather front coming saturday when things begin to change. Weatherfront coming in saturday when things begin to change. Weather front coming in will bring some Thundery Downpours as it moves from the west. It will continue its journey northwards. Ahead of edible still be hot and sticky. Heidi will find a return to fresh conditions. If you want or sunday looks like, dry, bright, but it looks that we will see some rain coming in from the south. There is nothing on the first pictures. It is just not going to be as hot as it is going to be in the next few days. Youre watching breakfast from bbc news. This is a graphic in the times this morning showing their profits plummeted by 64 , theirfull year profit last year. Their share price went up yesterday and that is because a lot of this profit fall is due to the money they spend on restructuring, they have reduced the number of international stores, they have been closing some of their uk stores and trying to change them around a bit and they say analysts and shareholders and the like are looking forward to seeing what the Chief Executive, steve rose, is actually going to do and maybe he can turn the Clothing Side of the business around. Weve heard about the problems with the Clothing Side of the business and the food side doing better. And there are the failed promises that have been made over the last few years but given the share price going up, analysts are saying this Chief Executive can turn things around for them but again, i might be back in another few months saying that m s are still struggling with clothes. Sally . The back pages have pictures of last nights Manchester United game, the back page of the mirror, paul pogba saying that they played for manchester and the people that died. I dont know if you can quite see this, Jose Mourinho being lifted up by his coaching staff. I was inundated with messages from the team, can i come in, do you want me in . That came from healthcare systems, nurses, allied health professionals, doctors, offering to come in and help to support us and we did take up help to support us and we did take up an offer of that. It happened locally, we did know that we could know people involved in it. The explosion happened somewhere familiar to all of us, we all have a sense of identity with manchester and of course it feels personal. At no point did i see any member of staff crack, they just no point did i see any member of staff crack, Theyjust Rose to the challenge and they kept going. Im very proud of the way they responded. The coordinated effort across the whole of manchester was what we saw and i think we should be very proud of the care that was given to these patients. |j very proud of the care that was given to these patients. I went home and cried a lot. You want to coach your nearest and dearest. It was the day after really when feelings settle in. As we have heard this morning, the row over leaked information of the Manchester Bombing investigation is escalating. So people are aware of what we are talking about, there was firstly the issue of the naming of salman abedi, the Suicide Bomber in Media Sources and now the New York Times publishes these images of what appear to be these images of what appear to be the remains of the suicide pact. Detailed images, these. Go to first get your reaction to the news we hear of the bbc learning that the Greater Manchester police have stopped passing on information directly to Us Intelligence services. What make of that . I am not tremendously surprised. I would expect them to be quite unhappy about these apparent lea ks. Expect them to be quite unhappy about these apparent leaks. On the other hand, at the end of the day, this is not something that i would expect to continue for very long because countries and Intelligence Services will share information when they view it as being in their interest. And the United States brings a lot of assets to the table. It can help in a lot of ways with intelligence and Law Enforcement and sooner intelligence and Law Enforcement and sooner or later, i expect it will be sooner, this particular issue will be passed as and things will return to normal. Perhaps after a little but a scolding behind the scenes. People understand the issue of Sharing Information. That is in the interest of catching those. In this case, radyr and manchester, searching for a group who he may be working with. We are in a situation now where it has been suggested that this could have jeopardised now where it has been suggested that this could havejeopardised possible leads and jeopardise the investigation. That puts this in a wholly different i mentioned. True. That said, i would not get too wrapped around the axle about these particular leaks having wrapped around the axle about these particular lea ks having been potentially damaging. Yes, there is potentially damaging. Yes, there is potential to damage here. Bomb makers, for instance, had currently have particular quirks and signatures about how they publish bombs and by publishing these photos, maybe you have given some clue as to what the bomb maker is, as what british authorities might be seen as as what british authorities might be seen as the signatures of the bomber. On the other hand, any dumber bomb makers in the bomb out to be employed they are basically have to be prepared that those signatures will be betrayed. It is not tremendously a problem. Leaking the name, i think that is more serious, potentially. If salman abedi was actively plotting with others to set this bomb off, they would have already been in hiding or taken security measures. What i think might be more damaging is people who knew him and may have corresponded and communicated with him and had data about him who did not know he was going to do this. And by keeping them off that, you know, it is your friend and by keeping them off that, you know, it is yourfriend or, whatever, you may have created some perverse incentives for people to do things like delete any males and that sort of thing. So, yes, certainly not helpful. On the other hand, this does not strike me as substance hand, this does not strike me as su bsta nce early hand, this does not strike me as substance early speaking, majorly speaking, as truly vexing and unprofessional as was. What efforts will be made, do you think in the United States to work out how this has happened . United states to work out how this has happened . I understand, obviously, some of this you can control because it has come from a newspaper, in this case, what effo rts newspaper, in this case, what efforts do you think will be made and we know that theresa may is meeting donald trump today. It would seem meeting donald trump today. It would seem logical that that would be raised directly. I am sure will be raised directly. I am sure will be raised directly. I am sure will be raised directly. In terms of what effo rts raised directly. In terms of what efforts will be made to find whoever may have leaked this, i would expect there to be some but frankly i would expect it to be proforma on a couple of grounds. First off, you know, many lea ks couple of grounds. First off, you know, many leaks big and small happen all the time. And, from, at the risk of Sounding American Centric here, from an American Point of view this is not really that big a deal. It is not like our crown jewels were given away. So that is number one. Number two, there may not even have been any legal problem here. The devil is in the details. In The American Classification System, The American Classification System, The American Classification System is based on, as in britain, not in law but rather in executive orders. So, sure, some effort will probably be put into finding the perpetrators but i dont not expect this to be a big emphasis. Just ask you. I appreciate that you, what you said a moment ago over here it will not be seen as that much of a big deal. I appreciate that you are representing a sentiment that may well be true. You will probably understand as well that for people watching what you are saying here that may feel very, very. Insensitive at best offensive, possibly. Indeed. I do insensitive at best offensive, possibly. Indeed. Ido not insensitive at best offensive, possibly. Indeed. I do not deny that. Im not endorsing that view. I am simply stating the cold hard reality that at the end of the day, the government exists to protect their own interest and there and people and, you know, concerns like this of other countries will come second airily. But ultimately what was down to. As i say, you know, i think this is an appalling thing to have happened but i think that is the way we should expect the american government, frankly any government to react. They are more concerned about their own secrets, ultimately, than the secrets of other people. I appreciate your time this morning. Bye for now. Lets catch up with the weather and carol, after the hot temperatures yesterday, i dont want to put the kibosh on it, but summer is coming . It was the hottest day of the year so it was the hottest day of the year so far yesterday, pershore hit 27, london, 26. 4, the temperatures rising over the next couple of days and some will see 30 or maybe even more. Today what we have is a humid start but then sunny for most, although currently theres low cloud around and mist and fog patches, especially in areas adjacent to the irish sea. That will slowly improve but parts of the east of Northern Ireland and the far south West Of Scotland, close to the coast, could hang on to the cloud but for the rest, mist and fog will lift quickly, a sunny day, parts of the North West Highlands getting to 28, Northern England, easily up to 26 in the sunshine, Fairweather Cloud developing not spoiling it, fairly wispy but along the east coast there will be an onshore flow, meaning it will be an onshore flow, meaning it will be an onshore flow, meaning it will be slightly cooler. London could hit 29 today and into the south west, all around again we could see 23 or maybe 24. In wales, a Beautiful Day in prospect if you like it dry, sunny and very warm, 25 in aberystwyth and in Northern Ireland, away from where we hang on to the low cloud close to the east, another sunny, dry and hot day. Through the evening and overnight with the High Pressure anchored in the north sea, we pull in the mild airfrom the near the north sea, we pull in the mild air from the near continent, the north sea, we pull in the mild airfrom the near continent, a Weather Front is working in towards us Weather Front is working in towards us and hardly any breeze. Look at the overnight temperatures, another sultry night in prospect, temperatures not as high as currently but still 17 isnt to be sneezed at. Friday we start on a muqqy sneezed at. Friday we start on a muggy note, mist and fog patches lifting quickly and then another belter if you like it sunny, dry and hot. Later in the day we will see cloud coming in across the south west of Northern Ireland, introducing some rain later but these are the temperature is, 29. The North West Highlands of scotland are likely to be the warmest part of the country tomorrow, knocking on the country tomorrow, knocking on the door of 30 but elsewhere we are still in the high range of the mid to the high twenties. As we go into saturday we still have all this warm airfor hotairfrom saturday we still have all this Warm Airfor Hot Airfrom the near continent, but look what happens, we have this Weather Front coming our way and that will introduce Thundery Downpours. Behind that we see a return to fresher conditions. It comes from the west, remember the shape of that, it goes north eastwards and ahead of it it will be muggy and hot. Behind it we start to see fresher conditions but you can see were also looking at sunshine. Northern parts of seeing the lions share of the brightest weather on sunday. At the moment we have rain coming in from the south west into southern counties of england. If you dont like it hot it will get a bit hotter and then we see fresher conditions returning by the weekend. Thanks very much, see you later on. An Industrial Tribunal is expected to decide later today if deliveroo couriers should get the same rights as people who are employees. Stephs taking a look at this. The story has been knocking around for a while, it boils down to the basics of who is a member of staff and who is Something Else . Its about the rights the person who is striving for deliveroo gets as doing thatjob. Deliveroo categorises them as independent contractors but the independent Workers Union of great britain, who brought this case, says they should be recognised as employees and all the benefits that go with that. Obviously that would allow add a lot of costs to deliveroo. It raises an interesting question because we have a Record Number of people injobs but the types ofjobs we are seeing created are changing, lots of people are in flexiblejobs, people created are changing, lots of people are in flexible jobs, people working for the likes of deliveroo, the likes of uber as well, the idea of Flexible Working is good for some people but really tough for others and this is what ive been looking into. One of the biggest changes is that more of us now work for ourselves. There are about 5 million Self Employed people, that is up a quarter over the last decade, with the big rise in the number of part time Self Employed and many of them are women. The whole aim of me setting up the business was so i could be a full on mum and enjoy My Little Girl growing up. Its nice being your own boss because it gives you that independence, i never did well at school, i never thought id be able to become what i am today so to be your own boss and to say in the morning, im going to do that with my data. But theres a new breed of the Self Employed who work in the so called gig economy, thats when they offer their services on a job byjob basis, a gig. When they offer their services on a job by job basis, a gig. Ive been freelance copywriting for a year now, i use a global platform, i saw my services on there and bid for jobs. As much as a Million People work in the gig economy and for those like nadia, its not their main source of income. So whats the attraction . Im copywriting and freelancing because it supports my organic skincare range and my business, it means i can fund by business, it means i can fund by business myself and stay in control while its in the early stages. But theres another group who dont work flexibly through choice. About a Million People are on zero hours contracts, they have a job but not guaranteed hours. This flexibility works for some but according to citizens advice about 4. 5 Million People are in insecure work, meaning they struggle to ends meet. Not knowing when youre next wage packet is going to come in, how much youre going to receive. I ended up going to my doctor basically and he put me off on sick leave under work related stress. Flexible working means more of us are in work than ever before, and while it works for many, there are those who prefer to have a sta ble are those who prefer to have a stablejob are those who prefer to have a stable job and a secure income. Weve had a lot of messages about this. Every time i talk about Flexible Working you get the mixed picture of people saying it works for me, i dont want things to change, and others giving anecdotes of people they know who say theyre not earning enough because theyre not earning enough because theyre not getting enough work from zero hours contracts. People feeling they arent getting thejob hours contracts. People feeling they arent getting the job security. That is what you expect from an employer. Exactly. Thanks very much and we will see you later on. A lost Cliff Richard Tv Performance from 1958 has been found on a farm belonging to a Blackpool Fairground owner. Another woman has been released without charge. We learned of two more In Manchester. Later today, a minutes 5ilence will be held to remember those caught up in the bombing. We have the latest on the bombing. We have the latest on the investigation. Another arre5t, this time in nuneaton, A5 Armed Police from Greater Manchester and forces nationwide closing in on what they say is a network surrounding the Manchester Bomber. It is not clear how critical or peripheral to the investigation many of these latest arre5ts are. But one thing police want above all else is to find whoever supplied or build the bomb that salman abedi detonated with such devastating effect. By by the publication in the new york time5 by the publication in the New York Times of highly Sensitive Information has angered British Police chiefs and politicians. But. At the highest levels of whitehall they described the leaking of what should be confidential shared information from American Intelligence Sources A5 a Breach Of Trust that undermines the investigation. Strong words that could jeopardise future cooperation in such sensitive areas. It worries me greatly, and, in fact, i made known my concerns about it to the us ambassador. Its unacceptable to me that here there is a live investigation taking place and we cannot have Information Being put in the Public Domain that is not the direct control of British Police and security services. A clearer picture is now emerging of Who Salman Abedi was and his descent into radical islam. In libya, where his family originally came from, his younger brother and his father are reported to have been arrested. The names and stories more of those who were killed on monday are slowly being released. 17 year old Chloe Rutherford, and her boyfriend, liam curry, who wa519, were said to be inseparable. Amid the visibly heightened 5ecurity, things do not look or feel normal. And despite the progress made by police in the last two days, there is still a lot we do not know. Wyre davie5, bbc news. Now it is time to find the bomb factory, whoever supplied him with the bomb that killed all those people. There are huge amounts of flowers a nd people. Donald trump is in brussels today for what his team are describing as tough talks with other members of the nato Military Alliance. He will also meet with European Union officials. Mr trump, who has previously been critical of both nato and eu, was met by thousands of demonstrators protesting at his visit after meeting the king and queen of belgium yesterday. Our europe correspondent, Damian Grammaticas, is in brussels this morning for us. A lot is coming out of the anger, the leaks, a lot is coming out of the anger, the lea ks, the a lot is coming out of the anger, the leaks, the leaking of crucial information by us media. This is something theresa may will tackle, at least bring up, with donald trump today. That is what we have been hearing. The anger has come from both the government side and the police side as well, that this information, especially the photographs, also, earlier, the identity of the bomber, which had been handed to American Security services as part of routine intelligence sharing, had found its way very quickly into the American Media. What we have seen most recently, the photos, parts of the bomb, parts of the detonator, those sorts of things. The anger is for two reasons, one, it is distressing forfamilies, two reasons, one, it is distressing for families, and also, two reasons, one, it is distressing forfamilies, and also, It Compromise could investigations. What we are hearing is that theresa may, when she sees donald trump here, will raise about and expressed that to him. She might find a sympathetic hearing because donald trump has had leaking as one of his complaints. He has complained about leaking during his administration from within. He may well be sympathetic to that. He and she will also be focusing on the issue of terrorism, combating terrorism, combating Islamic State, at those meetings at nato. Thatll be on the agenda. Thank you. Thousands of fans went to watch Manchester United play in the Europa League. It was very emotional. It may have looked and sounded like a normal buildup to a Big European Final but this was now no normal match. Amid a measured security presence, thousands of Manchester United fans were here to support but also to be part of an expression of sporting solidarity. It is much more than a Football Match now. It is about showing respects in the tragedy that happened manchester of that loss of lives, because of the people who lost their lives. How hard will this be for the team . They need to be spurred on. They need to win for manchester and make manchester proud. Inside the stadium filled with emotion the players emerged. Sports significance put firmly into perspective. United aware that if ever their city needed a performance to be proud of, it was now. Both teams took their place in the Centre Circle as football paid respects. Silence quickly followed by applause. If united were feeling the pressure, it did not show. Pogba deflected a shot and gave his side the start they craved. The sense of relief obvious although the manager remained unmoved. Not so for those here in the stands. Nor those watching on back In Manchester. A rare moment of celebration in a week of unimaginable pain. Too often this season, United Have Sat back and defended leads. This time they extended it. Mikataryan, despite having his back to goal, brilliantly flicking home. United, in an up and in control. The importance of this win is hard to overstate. Josie mourinho finally let his emotions show. Despite the burden they carried, Manchester United delivered not just a trophy for their fans but a tribute for their city. Bbc news. Political parties will resume low key Campaigning Today ahead of the National Election battle which will resume tomorrow. There was a pause for two days following the Manchester Bombing. Ukip will launch its manifesto today after postponing it yesterday. We will get more now. We always knew the election, of course, would restart. But there was the delicate decision of when its not appropriate. That is right. Just two weeks ago. They decided to resume campaigning. We will get local campaigns restarting the day. Leaflets, doorknocking, that sort of thing. Then a National Campaign restarting tomorrow. We heard from the conservatives they will restart local campaigns after the minutes silence this afternoon at midday. And Thenjeremy Corbyn will make a speech tomorrow we expect that to be a much more restrained tone. The tone now will be much more muted. It will be much more muted going on through the next couple of weeks. Ukip have decided to go ahead with their Manifesto Launch later today. It was scheduled for yesterday but they decided the best response to a Terror Attack is to continue with the democratic process. Ukip already announced some of the policies they intend to include in the manifesto. Cutting the foreign aid budget, a ban on the burka, Net Migration to the road. They are appealing beyond brexit. Because it is happening, they want the support of the 4 million who voted for them last time. They had a poor showing in the elections earlier this month. Ukip leader, paul nuttall, is defined. He says he will put forward at an uncompromising agenda later this morning when the manifesto is launched. Defiant. With the Terror Threat at critical following the Manchester Attack, armed troops are on the streets of britain for the First Time Since 2003. Up to 5,000 soldiers will be deployed to support police officers, with warnings another attack could be imminent. Lord Richard Dannatt is the former head of the british army and joins us from our london newsroom. Thank you very much for your time this morning. How is it going to feel with citizens of the uk seeing soldiers on the street . Is this reassuring . Is this adding to the fear of reassuring . Is this adding to the fearofan imminent reassuring . Is this adding to the fear of an imminent attack . |j reassuring . Is this adding to the fear of an imminent attack . I think it is reassuring. As you havejust reported, the government, on security advice, raised the threat level to critical. That means an attack is imminent. I think it is entirely sensible that all possible precautionary measures that could be taken are taken. I think the presence of troops on the streets should be reassuring, not alarming. What is important is that those of soldiers remain under police authority. The police retain primacy in all aspects of this. So the soldiers are acting under the control of the police and in support of the police and are freeing up Armed Police Officers to do other tasks that they are better prepared for and better trained for the plight can you explain how that will work in practice . Trained for. They are under the guidance of the police, but what happens if an incident happens at the moment in london . All troops that are deployed will have been given very clear briefing. They understand the rules of engagement. They understand the powers to stop and question someone. They will no what powers they have two arrest someone. And they will know what to do if an attack happens around them. But the major point is, and we have exercised this and trained for this for many, many yea rs. Trained for this for many, many years. The police retain primacy to be the police in the local area are in command. They will therefore co ordinate and co operate with the police and reinforce them. And, as i said before, it enables armed officers to do things they are well trained for. It frees up manpower. What about in terms of accountability, in terms of an incident . How far can they go in terms of defence before it means they have to be made accountable like the police . Bye for now. Every circumstance would have to be judged on the ground at the time. Every soldier like every policeman remains subject to the law of the land. Any incident will have to be investigated and proven that the soldier acted in the best possible way. As i said, soldiers are well briefed, they know what they can and cant do and they will be reminded at all times they are subject to the law. I will stress at this point the police remain in control and the Armed Forces Soldiers are there to support the police and augment what they can do. In your experience, your great experience with Terror Attacks and incidents on the uk, what does this say to you, what does this say about the State Of Play in the uk and terms of security . Are we at Warand The Uk and terms of security . Are we at war and what message does this send to potential terrorists . We are not at war, that plays into the terrorists game, that language. What we are seeing here is a country such as our own determined not to be cowered in any sense with terrorism, do deal with terrorism as we find it, for the police to investigate, as weve seen with the arrests going on in the past 24 36 hours, that is acted on with intelligence and as more clues are picked up that will lead to further arrests to get at the network that there may or may not have been and to disrupt any attacks there may be. The nation is pulling together and using all resources possible to say to terrorists, you can do whatever you like but you wont succeed. You might in their terms get lucky occasionally, as they tragically did In Manchester on monday night, but Security Forces working flat out with all the resources of the nation will see this thing off and defeat terrorism. I hope youre right. How long do we expect to see soldiers on our streets, how long for this to carry on to make us peel safe and reassured . Of course i dont know the answer to that question but i would imagine we will see troops on the streets while the threat level remains at the high level it is at the moment. High level indicates another attack is imminent. When the intelligence authorities come to the conclusion such an attack is not imminent then the threat level will go down back to severe, where it was before, and at that point we will seek troops going back to barracks and the police carrying on in a normal way we will see. And the police carrying on in a normal way we will see. Thanks for your insights this morning on brea kfast. Lets have a look at the weather. Carol has the details and the talk is it is getting warmer still . Thats right, today we could hit 29 in some parts of the uk. Yesterday was the warmest of the year so far, 26. 6in was the warmest of the year so far, 26. 6 in worcestershire, 26. 4 in london. A humid start, low cloud and mist and fog around. Primarily in parts of North East England and areas adjacent to the irish sea coastline. Most of that will steadily lived the morning, in some areas it will stick, like the far east of Northern Ireland and the far south West Of Scotland. That will depress the temperature but temperatures will be high today, 28 in the North West Highlands. A lot of sunshine in Northern England, easily into the mid to high 20 is. Down the East Coast Line there will be an onshore flow later, that means it will be cooler but not cold. London could hit 28 or 29 and as you can see in the sunshine as we go to the south west, again, a lot of high temperatures. In wales, temperatures into the mid 205, a lot of sunshine around, dont forget the sunscreen. As we head into Northern Ireland, away from where we might see low cloud sticking, it will be sunny and feeling very warm. Through the evening and overnight our High Pressure is still very much in the north sea, still dragging in a lot of warm continental air, not much a breeze but later a Weather Front will start to show its hand, but not overnight and not first thing tomorrow. These are the overnight temperatures, another sticky night in prospect, 17 In Manchester. We start tomorrow on that sticky note, any mistand start tomorrow on that sticky note, any mist and fog that formed overnight will rapidly dissipate and then a lot of sunshine, a breeze coming onshore meaning that if youre close to the coastline it will feel cooler but later we see the cloud builds in the west of Northern Ireland. The North West Highlands will see the highest temperatures tomorrow, knocking on 30, but again across the board we have high temperatures, london could hit 27, 28 or 29 tomorrow. As we head into saturday things will start to change. We still dragged in friday evening, friday night, saturday during the day hot air but we have the Weather Front coming from the west. It will move in a north easterly direction and it will have heavy and Thundery Downpours on it. A line of demarcation at this stage between the muggy, hot conditions and fresher conditions coming in behind it. Tom temperatures may be 30, perhaps even higher in the south east and then down to 20 in cardiff as the Weather Front goes through. It will clear the far north east of Scotland Early On Sunday and then another Weather Front coming into southern counties, introducing range from the south west through the day. But a lot of dry weather ahead of it. Temperatures still pretty healthy, looking at the 25 in london, but coming down across the rest of the uk to close where they should be at this stage in may. Im going to surprise you. You know how i always want sunshine and lovely blue skies, when the temperatures get into the orange and yellow, we a re temperatures get into the orange and yellow, we are grateful for a bit of rain to get rid of the muddiness. The Manchester Bomber salman abedi, who was born and brought up in the city, was of libyan origin. Yesterday his father and younger sibling, who still live there, were detained, while his elder brother was also detained In Manchester. So what has the large Libyan Community In Manchester made of this . What makes a british Born Young Man commit such an atrocity . Graham satchell has been investigating. Clothes drying on the line, people enjoying some afternoon sun. It could be any street in any city in britain. But this was home to the Manchester Bomber, salman abedi. Britain. But this was home to the Manchester Bomber, Salman Abedilj think they should regret what their son did. Eunice azar is an a e consultant, he knew Salman Abedis father, went to the same mosque and is appalled by what happened. We cant express how we feel very bad about this, innocent People Killed for non reasons. About this, innocent People Killed for non reasons. Eunice said he liked Salman Abedis father and had no suspicions about him or his family. I have to say hes a good man and all in the Manchester Community they know him and they give him full respect. We now know that Salman Abedis father has been arrested in libya and concerns were raised about abedi some years ago but still there are some huge u na nswered but still there are some huge unanswered questions. How is it possible that someone who was born here, who went to school and university here could end up blowing themselves up . Exactly the same question was first asked 12 Years A Slave after the july the seventh attacks when britain saw its first home grown Suicide Bombers. Three of them came from leeds and were clear what motivated them was the war in iraq. In the summer of 2005, i spoke toa group iraq. In the summer of 2005, i spoke to a group of young muslim men in leeds who, while condemning the attacks, spoke candidly of anger about the way fellow muslims were being treated around the world. About the way fellow muslims were being treated around the worldm doesnt help when these americans and these english are going into our muslim countries and killing our brothers and sisters. These fundamentalist groups are brainwashing these kids, look at what theyre doing, theyre killing your brothers and sisters and the only way you can will get back at them is to kill yourself. Today there are no British Forces fighting in iraq and afghanistan, so what is the motivating grievance now . At the University Salman Abedi briefly attended in salford, experts say it is too simple to draw a Straight Line between British Foreign policy and extremism. Suicide bombers, they say, are in the grip of a psychotic delusion. There sucked into this Terrorist Cult Ideology that actually has nothing to do with those concrete circumstances. So you can have a very much protectionist withdrawal Foreign Policy and can have a very much protectionist withdrawalForeign Policy and it probably makes no difference to people that get sucked into those ideologies, they will still try to attack ideology and they will still try to make a name for themselves in the belief they will get to the Promised Land eventually. Even if complex to end in iran and syria, and thats a big if, they will a lwa ys and thats a big if, they will always be those who are attracted to twisted, dangerous ideologies. Graham satchell, bbc news. Just at the beginning you we re sport. Just at the beginning you were talking about the atmosphere in the game last night. We are talking with how people cope in different ways, different mechanisms. It was an interesting atmosphere. You said there was a singing and quite a lot of noise. I was at the vigil. It was the same. At some point there was singing and chanting. They did not wa nt to singing and chanting. They did not want to be quiet. It was really interesting. When they were trying to get the crowd quiet, they did not wa nt to to get the crowd quiet, they did not want to be quiet. There was a real sense of wanting to shout out and almost protest what had happened. But when the game actually started i felt was a little bit of sense of shock. You felt like the fans did not feel like singing. Is so difficult to box in an emotion, have won that is appropriate. One. We dont know what is appropriate. That is what we will talk about now. Thank you very much, sally. Events like mondays Terror Attack In Manchester leave a Lasting Impact on those who lose loved ones. Theirfriends, families and the Wider Community are often similarly affected. Talking about emotions in the aftermath of violence and coping with trauma can prove extremely challenging. So what do the experts advise . Lets speak to the psychologist dr sandi mann, director of the mind training clinic. Your daughter was at the concert. She is ok. My 15yearold daughter was there. She got out uninjured. But it has given me some insight, not just from a but it has given me some insight, notjust from a theoretical Point Of View, but a Point Of View as a pa rent view, but a Point Of View as a parent and a mother, from seeing her. I have insight as to how people are feeling, not just the psychological theory. I am seeing it in practice and doing it in practice. I dont know how much you wa nt to practice. I dont know how much you want to share with us. It is a personal thing being inside a family. What have you been able to do . How have you been able to cope . 15 years old this is what people are saying. They were so young to be caught up in such a dreadful thing. It is difficult. The point is that my experience is difficult to make different from another persons. Everyone goes through their own experience. Every experience is unique. There is no one size fits all. What i think is important is to normalise how people feel. These feelings are normal. Whatever they feel, that will be a normal experience, a normalfeeling, emotion. It may change from person to person. My daughter has a couple of other young people in her year. She is doing her gcses at the moment which adds to stress. Her experience and feelings may be different from those of her friends. The feelings are normal. It is normal to acknowledge how they feel. There is this belief, shock, numbness. Iam m, this belief, shock, numbness. Iam in, the day after the bombing, there we re in, the day after the bombing, there were hours in the day with shock and disbelief of what happened and the fa ct disbelief of what happened and the fact that you were caught up in it, yourfamily is fact that you were caught up in it, your family is caught fact that you were caught up in it, yourfamily is caught up in it, they are lucky to escape, you know . Some people carry on as normal. Some have a delayed reaction. Some will struggle with all of their emotions. It is all normal. What i said to my daughter and others, these things are normal. One thing i do encourage is talking about it, either to people that are close to you, to people that are close to you, to people who have been through it as well, who were there. Just try and get out and ground itself again. Dont get too obsessive. It is very easy. I am not questioning your professional abilities whatsoever, but clearly, when something happens to you personally, it is different. One of the things you have learned that possibly you did not know before, having gone through it yourself, is. What i will say, i was about to say it, is you can get obsessed with it all. The first day, we we re obsessed with it all. The first day, we were watching the news and unable to do anything else. It is important to do anything else. It is important to start getting out there and grounding yourself back into the real world again and seeing that things do carry on, life carries on. Get yourself out of the bubble a little bit. That is something i had not perhaps appreciated, getting out there again. Living normally. Doing normal things. Eating, there again. Living normally. Doing normalthings. Eating, exercising, leaving the house, taking yourself away from social media and talking to other people. Bye for now. You have had these incidents. People in the country will feel angry, they will feel affronted, they will feel empathy with what people In Manchester have gone through. How do you justify those emotions because it didnt happen to them, they feel empathetic . Thats interesting because many things that iam interesting because many things that i am describing, people say they didnt have this brush with it at all so this is the interesting thing, this is a collective feeling, theres a collective survivors guilt. Lots of people say this could have been me, i was at the arena, it could have been made. You see expressions of sympathy like from people, how healthy all good is that for the mind people, how healthy all good is that forthe mind and people, how healthy all good is that for the mind and to a motion me settle yourself . It is very good. One of the issues around survivor guilt, we all feel this, interestingly not only people in this country, the world media has descended on manchester and everyone is thinking it could have been asked so is thinking it could have been asked so there is survivor guilt and all those emotions, channelling them into something positive, this is why wheezy the anger and the fantastic good works of the city of two is that coming together, the money being raised, free taxi rides and the food city and just. We are making sure we turn this into something positive and that is very therapeutic city of. Something positive and that is very therapeutic city of. I was going to give you a title but mum is the main and important part of the equation today city of lets talk to carol about the weather, very sunny for many and thatis weather, very sunny for many and that is going to continue . It will turn hotter as well as we go through the next couple of days, temperatures getting up to 30. A humid start today, temperatures widely in double figures and it will be sunny for most of us but we do have coastal mist and fog in areas adjacent to the irish sea slowly lifting and fog in the newcastle area, which we expect to lift, and for all of us it will be a sunny, warm day. Temperatures in scotland higher in the north west, 28 in the sunshine. In Northern England, the mid 205 but down the east coast, an onshore flow, meaning a sea breeze so on onshore flow, meaning a sea breeze so on the coast itself it will be cooler but not cold. London could hit 29 in the sunshine, the midlands down towards hampshire, all the way to the south west, basking in warm sunshine. Yes, some Fairweather Cloud developing but it wont spoil it. In wales, a beautiful afternoon if you like it sunny and warm and the same in Northern Ireland but the far east of Northern Ireland and the far east of Northern Ireland and the far west of south east scotland could hang onto low cloud through the day, that will mean the temperature will be slightly lower. High pressure dominating, pushing into the north sea, dragging in the cold airfrom into the north sea, dragging in the cold air from the near continent and as you from the isobars, hardly a breeze but a front waiting in the winds. Tonight it will be muggy, not going below 17 In Manchester. Mist and fog clearing tomorrow, temperatures will romp up quickly and another sunny day. An onshore flow so cooler on the coast again and later in the day the cloud will build as it heralds the arrival of a Weather Front from the west. Those are the temperature values. Tomorrow the highest temperatures will be in the highest temperatures will be in the North West Highlands, 29, not farfrom 30, but the North West Highlands, 29, not far from 30, but widely you can see we are in the mid to high 205. And an could be up to 29 tomorrow as well. London. On saturday, high uv levels on friday and saturday, high or very high. Saturday itself, we get all this continental yeah, not just through the we get all this continental yeah, notjust through the night but through the day, then we have this Weather Front waiting in the winds introducing a breakdown in the weather in the shape of Thundery Downpours. Look at the shape of that, a wiggly front and it will go north eastwards. Ahead of it it will be muggy and sunny and behind it we will see the sun come out, but it will see the sun come out, but it will feel fresher. On sunday, a lot of dry weather, we lose the front from the north east of scotland and its replaced by anotherfrom from the north east of scotland and its replaced by another from the south. Although temperatures wont be as high, it will feel better and not as sultry as it will in the next couple of days and actually does this morning as well. Thanks very much. Shall i start now . Yeah. Shalli start now . Yeah. All shall i start now . Yeah. All done . Steph, you have been looking into this tribunal that is expected to conclude today, a lot of debate about who is an employee, who is a contractor and what are your rights. It is about Flexible Working, people who are freelancers, were seeing a real growth in that because we have more people in work than ever but a lot of the work being created is flexiblejobs. Lot of the work being created is flexible jobs. The case today is to do with deliveroo, the Online Food Delivery company, they have their drivers which they classify as independent contractors but theres a union who has taken this to court saying they are employees because they were a uniform, they work solely four wrote one in many cases and they should begin in the same rights as employees, so its about sick pay, holiday benefits and thats what they think they should have the rights to. This is something i have looked into in terms of what Flexible Working means for people because it can be good for people because it can be good for many but also bad in some cases as well. Its nice being your own boss because it gives you that independence, i never did well at school, i never thought id be able to become what i am today so to be your own boss and to say in the morning, im going to do that with my day. But theres a new breed of the Self Employed who work in the so called gig economy, thats when they offer their services on a job byjob basis, a gig. Ive been freelance copywriting for a year now, i use a global platform, i sell my services on there and bid forjobs. As much as a Million People work in the gig economy and for those like nadia, its not their main source of income. So whats the attraction . Im copywriting and freelancing because it supports my organic skincare range and my business, it means i can fund by business myself and stay in control while its in the early stages. Flexible working means more of us are in work than ever before, and while it works for many, there are those who prefer to have a stable job and a secure income. It put so much pressure on income. Thanks, thanks very much. A lost Cliff Richard Television Performance from 1958 has been found on a farm belonging to a Blackpool Fairground owner. Yesterday was the hottest day of the year so far. Todayis hottest day of the year so far. Today is set to be warmer. There is cloud, mist and fog around, but that is set to lift and it will be sunny for us all. Good morning. First our main story. The police have stopped Sharing Information to the us after a series of lea ks. The investigation into the Manchester Bomb Attack continues. Another arrest, this time in nuneaton as armed police from Greater Manchester and forces nationwide closing in on what they say is a network surrounding the Manchester Bomber. It is not clear how critical or peripheral to the investigation many of these latest arrests are. But one thing police want above all else is to find whoever supplied or built the bomb that salman abedi detonated with such devastating effect. But the publication in the New York Times of crime scene photographs has angered british release chiefs and politicians. In whitehall, they have described the leaking of what should be confidential information from american intelligence sources as a Breach Of Trust and it undermines the investigation. The bbc understands Greater Manchester police has stopped passing on an sharing intelligence with american agencies. An extraordinary move, reflecting how damaging many feel the leaks are. It worries me greatly. I made known my concerns about it to the us ambassador. It is not acceptable to me. Here, there is a live investigation taking place and we cannot have information put in the Public Domain that is not in the direct control of the british Intelligence Services. There is now a clear picture of Who Salman Abedi was on his descent into radical islam. His younger brother and father are reported to have been arrested. The names and stories of those who were killed on monday night are being released. 17 year old Chloe Rutherford and her boyfriend, liam curry, who was 19 are said to have been inseparable. Theirfamily said are said to have been inseparable. Their family said they live to go to new places and visit different cities. It all seems raw, manchester has been knocked sideways by what happened this week. Amid the visibly heightened security, things certainly dont look or feel normal. Despite the progress made by police in the last two days, there is still a lot we dont know. Our Home Affairs Correspondent Daniel Sandford joins us now. Daniel this is an incredibly fast moving operation, with developments overnight and more arrests this morning. Can you tell us the latest . As they find things, it gives them more things to do, so their workload is increasing. Overnight, dramatic events in the withington area of south manchester, police using explosives to get into a house and there was a man arrested there. There was another arrest In Manchester overnight. A woman arrested yesterday evening has been released. There are eight people in custody being questioned over monday nights attack. They are finding stuff that gives them hope they are on the right trail, but the investigation is growing rather than becoming focused on one particular detail. There is some tension around the Information Being leaked. Leaked from police gathered information to the American Media . It is absolute fiorina and dismay at the british end, the fact this agreement we have had with the americans, whereby any terrorist incident and any information we find on the ground is automatically shared with the americans so they can look at it in terms of the threat to america and the experts cannot be improvised explosives. The americans have this Amazing Library of every explosives set. And there is such fiorina about the fact this very sensitive detail, that was leaked to the American Media that at the moment, Police Investigating the attack In Manchester are not Sharing Information with the americans. That has stopped for now. Whether that will be a short term stop, i dont know. But for now, it is not happening. It is extraordinary and unprecedented. We have had these lea ks before but unprecedented. We have had these leaks before but i have never heard the british saying, we will not send you anything. Furyk, being the keyword. Thank very much. The Prime Minister will meet President Trump in brussels today, where shes expected to raise concerns about the Intelligence Leaks. Our europe correspondent Damian Grammaticas is in brussles this morning for us. Police In Manchester no longer directly Sharing Information with their us counterparts, surely this will be raised when theresa may is there with donald trump . We are told theresa may will raise the concerns, the anger you were hearing about from the british side about the lea ks from the british side about the leaks coming from the us. But she will raise that directly with President Trump when they are at nato this afternoon for the nato summit at the new nato headquarters building. She will express the concern the leaks affecting, not just the credibility of the investigation, also be operational security. The fact police have said they are working to roll out this extended network, concerned with any possible further attacks and need to move quickly, but also keep the information they have confidential to try to maximise their chances of rolling up that entire operation as quickly as possible. So security reasons and also public reason is because the police have said they are concerned that releasing information, releasing photographs are distressing to the public and might put people who want to come forward with more information. Theresa may will be saying that the donald trump. He may be sympathetic. He has been complaining about leaks from within the us system recently. Damian, forthe from within the us system recently. Damian, for the moment, thank you very much ahead of that meeting between donald trump and the reason may. As weve heard, there are lots more tributes planned for those who were caught up in the bombing. Last night, the mother of 15 year old Olivia Campbell spoke about her daughter at a vigil in bury. As a family, we are united and standing strong. I ask of friends, strangers, relatives, to do the same. Please, stay together. Dont let this beat any of us. Please, dont let my daughter be a victim well said charlotte campbell, the mother of Olivia Campbell, just 15 years old. A one minute silence will be held across the uk later today to remember those who died in the attack. Political parties will resume low key Campaigning Today ahead of the National Election battle resuming tomorrow. Theres been a pause for two days following the bombing In Manchester. Ukip will also launch its manifesto today, after postponing it yesterday. Lets get more from our Political Correspondent leila nathoo. Understandably, the pause in Election Campaigning, but we are two weeks away from the general election . Yes, it seems difficult to imagine in the middle of this we are just a fortnight away of going to the polls, but the parties have announced they are beginning their National Campaigns again tomorrow in earnest. Local campaigning will begin today, so doorknocking, leaflet drops and local events from candidates, but tomorrow we will begin the National Campaigning again. Jeremy corbyn clear he did not want terror to derail the democratic process. We understand he and theresa may spoke yesterday to coordinate resuming the National Campaigns. But ukip are going ahead today with their Manifesto Launch. It was due yesterday, but they have decided to reschedule it for later this morning. We understand paul nuttall, the ukip leader, is promising an uncompromising agenda in this manifesto. We have heard policies from ukip that will be included in this. Cuts to the foreign aid budget, one in, one out immigration policy and a ban on the burqa. Ukip are trying to broaden their appeal, they are trying to prove they are still relevant to voters, 4 million voters who supported them at the last election, but with brexit a reality, ukip has got to prove they are still a releva nce, got to prove they are still a relevance, political fours and the ukip leader is trying to see of those charges that ukip are spent party, they have no relevance in this post brexiteer it with this new focus on the domestic agenda. But they have some way to go to continue to command the support they enjoyed a couple of years ago. For the moment, thank you very much. Well return now to the events of the last few days. For obvious reasons over the last few days, Health Workers and ambulance staff have been too busy to talk about what happened. One of the many hospitals involved in treating the victims is stepping hill. Some of the staff there have now reflected on the experience. First i knew is i got a phone call in the early hours of the morning, and reallyjust giving the simple message that there had been a Major Incident, that they were asking for help. I was in bed asleep, i had the radio on and i must have just registered the words incident and manchester. Found out it was a Major Incident that had happened, so the next thing i did was ring in work. I had contact with social media initially that something had happened In Manchester but i wasnt aware of what had gone on. 20 minutes later, i got a calljust to say that weve had a first walk in patient whod come through from the incident, which made us then trigger a Major Incident. When i arrived, the level of professionalism i saw among my colleagues was phenomenal. There was an air of seriousness, professionalism, a need to focus and you could very much see that amongst all of the staff here, every one of them. What we saw on night was real determination, resilience to work. Staff really coming up with what was required to deliver the best care for these patients. I was inundated with messages from the team, can i come in, do you want me in . That came from health care systems, nurses, allied health professionals, doctors, offering to come in and help to support us, and we did take up an offer of that. It happened locally, we did know that we could know people involved in it. The explosion happened somewhere familiar to all of us, we all have a sense of identity with manchester, and of course it feels personal. At no point did i see any member of staff crack, Theyjust Rose to the challenge and they kept going. Im very proud of the way they responded. The co ordinated effort across the whole of manchester was what we saw, and i think we should be very proud of the care that was given to these patients. I went home and cried a lot. You want to hug your nearest and dearest. It was the day after, really, when feelings settle in. Just want to focus on the good things that i saw, the good care that i saw, and that, for me, speaks about the night, not the bad things went on. We should say it huge thank you. Derek cartwright is the Chief Executive of the North West Ambulance service and joins us now. Cannot imagine the week you and your staff have had. If we go to monday nights, what you would have been involved in as events were unfolding . I got igota i got a message on my page, saying they had been a Major Incident in Greater Manchester. I made some phone calls left the house and headed to our major control centre in the centre of manchester. What would your have been . The idea is you would want to get as many emergency staff together to deal with such a large and seven. Absolutely, and we have a full command team, very quickly we have people on scene. One of our advanced paramedics was on scene on his own very quickly and that was a challenge for him. By the time i was partway to the destination i was going to, i was informed we had Something Like 60 ambulances on the way, and i was very pleased we have that type of resourcing coming very quickly. How does that compare to a normal number of ambulances . On monday night, 11 oclock, we had about 200 ambulances. We moved resources in from as far away as blackpool, cheshire, up in the south cumbria, everyone was moving to manchester, which of course had a knock on effect. Our colleagues and friends in other Ambulance Service is backed up in those areas where we had from the ambulances from, so my role in the whole thing is about supporting our command teams are making sure they had everything they needed to do to do theirjob, and is above the star. Because there were staff throughout this have been absolutely brilliant. I am always proud of them but this team took pride to a different level. So often when we talk to people involved in Emergency Services, they say in an Emergency Services, they say in an emergency like this you just concentrate on the job you have to do come you dont have time to think. Thinking of those first calls come you are in radio contact directly with the first people to arrive. At what point dojunior lies, eitherfrom arrive. At what point dojunior lies, either from the tone or the m essa g es lies, either from the tone or the messages you received back, that this was something completely out of the ordinary . I have been around the Ambulance Service for 30 years, i know the message when it comes through, that first message i saw what it talked about an explosion, and in the first call i got when it said it was at the arena, i sensed very quickly that there was something really significant going on here. The messages i got from our other commanders on scene, it was quite clear that there were fatalities and large numbers of casualties, and i realised then this isa casualties, and i realised then this is a significant event there will need to make sure we are properly supporting resources from across the north of england, notjust our own services. So we would getting m essa g es services. So we would getting messages back, talking about our early paramedics on scene, saying the work they were doing on scene to help people very early on. I realised then that this was significant. So we mobilised resources , significant. So we mobilised resources, had specialist resources moving in, the heart teams, hazardous response teams, we had three teams there. These are people trained in surgeon rescue, breathing through disuse, who can get into buildings in different ways. Very proud of our response. The stuff that went there who attended, and we had Something Like 300 people the staff. Lets not forget our control room staff, the people who took those calls early on, saying there has been an explosion, carried on working through the night. It is only when the enormity came out that they realise what they were involved in. I appreciate there are sensitivities involved in the injuries, those who still remain injured at this stage, some very severely, but as you understand it, talking to your paramedics, do you believe that lives were saved because of the speed of how quickly your people and others were on the scene . I absolutely believe that. We had sizeable numbers there very quickly, we had people immediately on their own for a few minutes but sizeable numbers there. We had five of her own doctors there, we had three consultant paramedics there within about 20 minutes. Those senior clinicians help to distribute patients appropriately and at the right time across all of the hospitals in Greater Manchester. I think there was only one hospital that did not receive patients that night. We distributed them to get them the Specialist Care they needed. That is a pre workout plan, we have been working with the networks over the last couple of yea rs networks over the last couple of years to look at how we can distribute patients that way, so we work hand in glove with all parts of the nhs, and the nhs should rightly be proud of what went on that night. We heard from staff at stepping hill hospital, who treated some of the victims. You said you were always proud of your staff and how proud you are, what is it that makes those who work for the nhs, for the Emergency Services, inherently that it is in their nature just to help, to do theirjobs, almost selflessly . But then there comes a point, doesnt there, afterwards, where you almost breathe, you sit down and taken the enormity of the situation. And that is what a lot of your staff are dealing with now. What support are dealing with now. What support are they getting . What are you doing as an organisation, and feeding back with your staff . It is something we have experienced in other tragic events in different parts of the north west over the years. That morning about four oclock, tuesday morning, we had all of those people involved, 150 people attended that site, i spoke to them and thank them for what they were doing, and said after that we were putting supportive measures in place. You cant drive people to get support, they need to recognise it themselves in many ways. We have had drop in centres, so people who want to talk toa centres, so people who want to talk to a counsellor can just turn up. If they dont want to do that, they can ring people privately. Over the next couple of weeks we will get everyone together again for a group debrief, and that will be about 300 people altogether. That comradeship and togetherness, sharing the stories, is massive, and the connection about our staff, we were involved in this, is massive. We are fairly sure the support will be needed, probably in a small number of cases, four months and years to come, but we are very keen to ensure that our staff get in the support they need. Can ijust say about the public . We have had people turning up at our ambulance station, bringing food, bringing drinks. We have had our staff coming in saying i will work for nothing today, or i will donate a dave coss mcpake to give those people a day off. Its brilliant. I will donate a days pay. A huge thank you to your staff. The time now is 22 minutes past eight. Heres carol with a look at this mornings weather. It will be hotter than yesterday, yesterday we had about as day of the year so far. It hit 26 degrees, today some of us could hit 28 20 nine. A humid start but it will be sunny for the bulk of the uk. As ever, the uk. As ever, there are two exceptions this morning. We have some mist and fog. That will steadily left through the course of the day. We have some fog across parts of North East England. You can see a lot of dry weather. London could well hit 28 or 29, southern counties of england a similar story into the mid 205, the Channel Islands about 2223, and certainly dry. Dry and sunny and pleasantly warm across wales, aberystwyth getting up to 25, Northern Ireland, a Sunny Afternoon to you but the east of Northern Ireland and the far south west of south west scotland might hang on to a little bit more clout. If that happens, the temperature would be as high. North west highlands, 28, and north west england into the mid 205, but with the sea breeze on the coastline it will feel a bit cooler. Through this evening and overnight, we are still dragging in the continental. Spacing in the isobars tells you there would be too much of a breeze but we have a Weather Front that went to practice until later tomorrow. Tomorrow we start the day with these kind of temperatures, 16, 17, a murky start once again. The temperature will steadily rise as we go through the course of the day in the sunshine. We are looking at 29, knocking on the door of 30 celsius, but widely we are looking at temperatures from the mid to the high 205. Uv levels tomorrow will be high. Later on in the day, you will notice the cloud thickening across the west of Northern Ireland and eventually the far south west of south west england. That heralds the arrival of a Weather Front. As we go through friday night into saturday, still dragging in this one continental. The Weather Front making progress during the course of saturday morning, moving steadily north eastwards. It will take its rain in this fashion as it moves north eastwards. Some of it will be heavy and thundery from the north midlands. Behind it, fresher conditions, as we head into sunday, that clears the far north east. There will be a lot of dry weather around and it looks like we have more rain coming up from the south. The timing and position of this could well change, so keep in touch with the Weather Forecast. Thank you very much. Some results coming in, Steph Houghton 5 details from whole foods. From halfords. Thank you to everyone who sent in the messages about Flexible Working this morning. That is it from me. The time now is a 20 6am. Just one or two of the images we are seeing this morning. The live images from st annes square In Manchester. This is the scene of so many peoples grief, and people stuffing and pausing for a moment. There is of course a minutes silence being held across the uk at 11 oclock this morning. More coverage from us on the bombing, and naming some more of the bombing, and naming some more of the victims this morning. Time to get the news, travel and weather where you are. Yesterday was the warmest day of the year with 26. 6 celsius recorded. Temperatures in the mid to high 205 and there will also be a lot of sunshine. This morning, weve got some fog around the irish sea. It is lapping in onshore across parts of Northern Ireland south west scotland and northern west and parts of wales as well. But should disappear and certainly much more sunshine across scotla nd certainly much more sunshine across scotland compared to yesterday. Temperatures getting up to 27 perhaps 28 celsius and across the central belt, 25 degrees here. The fog should move away from Northern Ireland and the western coasts of wales as well. Sunshine coming through throughout the day. Fairweather cloud developing into the afternoon but those temperatures are widely into the mid to high 205. Overnight we have clear skies, but it will be another mild, warm and sticky night. Temperatures no lower than 13 to 17 celsius going into friday morning. On friday, another sunny day across the board. Temperatures rising again. Friday will be even hotter than today. Those temperatures getting into the mid to high 205,29 celsius is possible in the north west of scotla nd possible in the north West Of Scotland during friday, but towards the south, 28, 20 9 degrees not out of the question. Going into the weekend, the heat is with us but this Weather Front will push its way in. It could spark of some thunderstorms on saturday there will be heavy and thundery showers moving across the uk. That will bring fresh conditions across many parts as we go into sunday.
