could happen, even with this guy who was really not an effective executive or leader of his country. but now, of course, they cannot rely onjovenel to sort of shepherd through a seeming election and now they're stuck and they don't know what to do, so that's gonna be hard for the us and the international community in general — the un, the organization of american states, et cetera. you mentioned the un — this request has gone to the un for security forces to be deployed to haiti. do we expect to see international foreign troops on the street of port—au—prince? well, i don't know — obviously — but i think the un is thoroughly sick of haiti. they had a 13—year peacekeeping force there that got in a lot of trouble in a lot of ways — the last thing being the cholera epidemic, which the peacekeeping forces want to get entangled again. i think most outside forces don't want to get militarily amy wilentz.
