for debate at today's shareholders' meeting. elfyn evan's quest to become britain's first world rally champion for 19 years is underway. the final rally of the season is being held at monza in italy. evans is fourth after the opening stage. the event finishes on sunday. today marks the international day of people with disabilities, a global day to celebrate and support people with disabilities. but with covid i9 putting plans on hold around the world, many people have used the downtime to campaign for equal rights throughout the year — including britain's para athletes. they've been taking on hollywood, and battling for a voice in their sport — as kate grey reports: in september they became us open doubles champion but the battle to her 12th grand slam titles started before she even got on the court. what was your immediate reaction when you heard the news about the us open and no wheelchair competition? we were put in that league of being not professional and i think that's what upset at the most because i know we are professional athletes and this is ourjob and will be dictated to and it was really disappointing. organisers at the end of the wheelchair athletes would not wa nt to of the wheelchair athletes would not want to travel due to the covid—19 pandemic. i think it was miscommunication and maybe some bad assumptions and they apologised and they sorted it out and we are grateful for that and we had one of the best us open if he ever had. that is one of many examples of the past few months where people with without disability have united and confronted inequalities beyond the sport. social media has seen an increase in hashtags and campaigns shedding light on disability issues. most significantly # not a witch. we will never let you get away with your filthy, evil plots. following the release of the warner bros. film, the per trade evil characters with lame disabilities and received criticism. lead actress anne hathaway has since apologised. we need to get rate of that negative stereotype. that disability is weird oi’ stereotype. that disability is weird or you stereotype. that disability is weird 01’ you are a stereotype. that disability is weird or you are a freak or evil. it's awful. i just or you are a freak or evil. it's awful. ijust think how is that allowed. an actress is not surprised by this controversy and sees this as a time for change. more people with disabilities need to be in those i’ooitis disabilities need to be in those rooms where decisions are made otherwise problems like this will keep happening. one thing i could from a place i really learn from them andl from a place i really learn from them and i thought to what is this about and at it and i thought that's terrific. it seems the need for the tokyo 2021 paralympics has never been greater. putting disability backin been greater. putting disability back ina been greater. putting disability back in a positive spotlight once again. when england won the rugby world cup in 2003, just one player in the squad was from black or minority ethnic backgrounds. at last year's tournament, that figure was up significantly, to more than a third of the 32 players who made the trip to japan. there have been huge strides forward at the top level — but beno obano, bath prop — says there's still a long way to go to open the sport up. he's joined forces with his cousin, maro itoje and other england stars to make a documentary about life as a black rugby player, and how to get others to fall in love with the game. when i spoke to him earlier, he told me why he felt he had to make the film: that was the main point it was more about class and about social mobility and the benefit i've been able to take from rugby and i think other people can as well. i've had that for a while sort of like even if we think i did not become a professional rugby player i got to go to school, a very good school and play rugby there get a really good educationjust due to play rugby there get a really good education just due to rugby. so play rugby there get a really good educationjust due to rugby. so i felt like other people should understand that sport is notjust a game, there's so many more things to it and game, there's so many more things to itand in game, there's so many more things to it and in america they do that a lot while in the uk and they say we don't do it so much. that's that's at the start of the family at about 70% of the nfl comes from black and minority ethnic communities but only 10% of the current english premiership. that is stark and do you think that is because of social mobility because people in america see sport as a way to make money, they are still exposed to lead rugby just operates behind a certain elitist curtain? it's not as if by elitist curtain? it's not as if rugby has decided it only wants to be in private schools isjust tradition anywhere the sport comes from and this is the position we find ourselves in now today and i think would be wants to open up to everybody because it's beneficial for the game if there more diverse people playing with their sport and their product so i was trying to stress that point a lot but if it's open to everybody than we have a better sport in front of us. do you think this port is open to everybody? hearing you and all the others speaking in the film, obviously you are driving this point to be open but what about the authorities? do you think this is much as a drive and as much as a desire to open up the sport as there is among the players such as yourself? 10096. i think they really wa nt to yourself? 10096. i think they really want to sport to be open to everybody. i think some of them have even watch my documentary and enjoyed it as well. and they agree with most of the points i say if not all of them. i do think they do as well. it's caused a debate beyond cricket — is it against the spirit of the game for england to hang signs from their dressing room window to communicate with players on the field? a series of letters and numbers were used during the recent 202o series against south africa. england captain eoin morgan says there's always communication between the coaches and the players on the field and that they'll be sticking with the system. there is nothing untoward about it. it's about maximising information that we are taking in and measuring it against things like coaches recommendations and a data of what is going on so there is nothing u ntowa rd. well let's find out what our cricket correspondent jonathan agnew thinks — i asked him if he agrees with morgan, that these signs, are within the spirit of the game: if you are a successful one day captain it is a pretty difficultjob but you are successful because you are intuitive, because you're on the day and i do know what's going on and you're out there in the heat of battle and thinking that's happen next so if you have gotten in your mind what you will do and said any you see coming from the dressing rooms c3 being shown, whatever that means, even if you don't go with the dressing room it will put a bit about in your mind about the decision you will take on what happens if you lose the game and the coach says we put c3 up there, why didn't you do it? it's something i'm not sure it's a great idea and if i we re not sure it's a great idea and if i were the captain i think i would be happy to come across and make the decisions that i want to make on the field and i want to be 100% confident in making them. i would not like to see interference being committed from the dressing room. formula one driver lance stroll has told how he watched fellow driver romain grosjean and his car engulfed by flames — and didn't know whether the frenchman would get out alive. stroll also suffered a major crash in his racing point during the bahrain grand prix on sunday — he's been talking to nestor mcgregor about the risks drivers take in motorsport: i kind of held my breath for a good 30 seconds to a minute and i was not sure if he walked out so once i saw the footage of him walking out of the footage of him walking out of the car, that was a relief. itjust gets hard the car, that was a relief. itjust gets ha rd to the car, that was a relief. itjust gets hard to put into words and it was such a freak accident and you just up the car is up in flames like that anymore and when it happens it's pretty terrifying so it's not that easy to go back to racing right away for sure. they are much better than they've been in the past and best of that element of risk and accept that and they think it's just calculating the risk you take and working with it there no getting around it. we race cars at very high speed and unfortunately sometimes things do happen but i can live with the risks we take. the good news is he seems to be recovering very well. a reminder of our top story. the primary need and efl agreed to a £250 million financial bailout to help save clubs struggling as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. £50 million will be given to clubs in week one and the need to in the championship money will be put up to help secure a £200 million loan. he would have more on that on bbc news and it is more detail on our website but for now that's all from sports day. it's been a cold day everywhere today. we have got a renter mix of weather to come tonight and into tomorrow. a terry here in highland scotland. some parts of scotland temperatures did not get much above freezing. for england wales it was cold and wet and miserable and a lot of crowds streaming in from off the atlantic. the crowds coming town with see a stream of showers for west wales and the southwest of england. this area here will probably take some white leather into the south of england and east anglia and the wet weather we saw across northern england will spend its way into scotland. it moves into the icy cold so we will find snow falling in many places and more snow over the northern areas. a widespread frost and ice in scotland and northern ireland. patchy frost for england and wales. into the morning snow could be a problem in scotla nd morning snow could be a problem in scotland early on in the day and deception there will be snow on the levels for a while. particularly in easton scotland heavy rain bringing and strong winds will push rain into northern ireland and deals on the coast. i clears to the southeast and east anglia and moves into england. maybe some snow over the areas but for the midlands in southern england it becomes dry and sunshine. it's a cold day and it will feel colder because the wind will be stronger. explaining the elect whether and it will slide into the weekend into france and gradually over the weekend it will turn dry and quiet with the wind eating as well. stand in the cold air and temperatures will not go improve. particularly for england and wales some sleet and snow over the district and the hills and we have got some wet weather into eastern parts of scotland. you can hear of intervention become dry and temperature is in 7 degrees. as the winds drop and skype clearly but have frost and they will be some mist and fog and low cloud. it could linger in areas throughout the day. each will be dry and most of the wet weather has gone and there will be sunshine coming through but it is there a cold day on sunday despite wind and height of six or seven. hello, i'm ros atkins, this is outside source. the uk has been criticised will be so the uk has been criticised will be so quickly to organise the pfizer coronavirus vaccine step it up i love the brits, they are great scientist, but they just took the data from the pfizer company and is it of scrutinising it really, really carefully they said, ok, let's approve it, that's it and they went with that. that's america's type infectious diseases as a bird, the uk is defending its decision to go faster. still waiting for a break or brexit trade talks with pizzas were delivered to keep the negotiations going into the night. our europe editor will give us a full assessment of the point we have reached. in the hong kong media mogul says he will not back,
