To the third round of the bdo world championship. He was taken to a decider by swedens andreas harrison before winning the set by four legs to two. On to the nfl after a wild card weekend that delivered on its name setting up a divisional round for next weekend that looks very different than most people predicted. Austin halewood is here to take us through the action. Plenty of surprises the biggest of all coming in new england. Now, many casual fans of American Football will know the new England Patriots and their star player tom brady. Theyve been the most succesful team over the last decade, with brady perhaps the best quarter back of all time. Their stadium in foxborough has been the home of all of that but the patriots wont be going any further this season. The six time super bowl champions were beaten on home soil by the tennesse titans. So brady wont be heading to the super bowl and his future is now unclear. At a2 years old hes a free agent for the first time, after 20 seasons with the team. Now, by his standards it hasnt been his best season his percentage of completed passes were at their lowest since 2004, while his percentage of yards each throw were at their lowest since 2002, but the patriots owner robert kraft says hes earned the right to control his future. My hope and prayer is number one, he play for the patriots. Or number two, he retires. Rather than having him play for any other team. And the fans at foxborough feel exactly the same, they want him to stay, so it sounds like its all up to the man himself. Its at the greatest organisation and playing for mr craft all these yea rs and playing for mr craft all these years and for coach kraft and for the coach, there is nobody who has had a better career than me, just
being with them. So im very blessed andi being with them. So im very blessed and i do not know what the future looks like. Is there any possibility that he would retire after this last season . I would say it is pretty unlikely, but. Yeah, hopefully unlikely. We will see. Well, away from brady and the patriots, there was another big upset in new orleans. The much fancied saints were hosting the minnesota vikings. Now, the vikings quarterback kirk cousins has a bit of a reputation for failing to deliver in the big moments. He hasnt won a single playoff game in his 8 seasons in the league. But yesterday he got his chance the vikings managed to force overtime with the scores level when cousins threw this huge pass downfield to set up his first playoff win. How does it feel to any play off game . Cheering. That is how we have won all year, team. We have them match 20 points, you give us a chance at the end. I have three words for you you like that . Also yesterday there was a third win on the road. This time in philadeplphia as the Seattle Seahawks beat the eagles. It all went wrong early on for the home side. The eagles losing their quarter back carson wentz to injury in this tackle and from that point on they couldnt catch the seahawks. The play of the game was this pass from sea hawks quarter back russell wilson. A huge 53 yard touchdown to confirm the their place in the dvisional playoffs next weekend. The Houston Texans join them after their win over buffalo on saturday. So here are the divisional playoffs, essentially the quarter finals. San francisco face minnesota on saturday before its baltimore against tennesse, kansas against houston, and then green bay against seattle on sunday. And of course you can watch highlights of them all on the nfl show on the bbc. Great to see those twists and turns continue. Thank you very much for the moment. Zlatan ibrahimovic is back in the news both on and off the football pitch. A statue of the former Sweden International back in his home town of malmo has had toilet seats left on it, its had its nose cut off, and now its had its ankles sawed off. Its had to be taken away for repair. The vandalism started after zlatan invested in a rival swedish club apparently the local authority in malmo plans to bring it back. Perhaps for even more punishment. Well, one place zlatan is apparently welcome is milan welcome back ibra was the message from the fans inside the san siro. The striker who recently rejoined ac milan, made his return on the pitch in the second half, managing a couple of chances on goal. This his best but no goals for him or milan as they drew 0 0 with sampdoria. So, as we mentioned earlier the next fa cup tie kicks off in just over an hours time, but for the moment lets go back to Sheffield Uniteds win over flyde yesterday. There was one moment of drama for the officials when one of them fell ill at half time. An appeal was put out over the tannoy asking if anyone in the stands could help. Step up 19 year old united fan and qualified referee tyler machin who carried out fourth official duties in the second half. Tylerjoins me now. A very good evening to you. What you start to go for 2020. Yes, an excellent start. Brilliant, could not imagine anything when i started this at the match. It completely blew me away. When you heard that announcement looking for a referee
of eddie tanner, did you put your hand up straightaway . Dashing over the tannoy. Yes, straightaway. I dont think i have move that fast in my life, really. It was a very busy day for you as well, you had already reverie the local match that morning, you must have been well prepared . Yes, i refereed a match in the morning. Finished about 12 35 p m, which only give me about ten minutes to catch my train into sheffield, so there was no time to go home and get change. It was a case of whacking a bit of deirdre on and putting it tracks it over the top of my kit deodorant on. And putting it tracks it over the top of my kit deodorant on. And the reaction has been remarkable on social media people have loved it. You must be loving it as well . Absolutely. A bit of a living room at the minute. Got all these
m essa 9 es at the minute. Got all these messages on social media. I have had a journalist ringing me up and doing interviews today because i have been into university today to get some coursework time but have done none of it because i bid back on course back and forth across sheffield. It has been a busy day thank you for joining it has been a busy day thank you forjoining us. You partnership sheffield a bit of luck. Certainly, idid. Thats all from sportsday. Well have more throughout the evening. Lets return now to our main news about the worst serial rapist in british criminal history. Raynhard sinaga has beenjailed for life with a minimum term of 30 years after being convicted of 159 Sexual Offences against young men. Sinaga drugged his victims till they were unconscious before filming his attacks. We can now speak to duncan craig from with the victims. We are very grateful for you joining us. Thank you very much. For some of these men who did not know they were raped until, effectively, they got a knock on the door from the police, can you give us a knock on the door from the police, can you give us a sense knock on the door from the police, can you give us a sense of what has been the impact on them . |j can you give us a sense of what has been the impact on them . I mean, what we have got to recognise is the way that trauma will manifest itself in many different ways for many different people. Initially, it is bound to be a shock and it has been a shock for so many of these men. But what is really important is that the men are getting the right support at the right time for them to move forward. We are really proud of the work that we have been able to do with our friends and
collea g u es to do with our friends and colleagues over at saint marys Sexual Abuse Referral Centre and Greater Manchester police, that we can help those men move forward from the initial shock and show their support in the right way. What support in the right way. What support have you been giving them . Survivors manchester has been coordinating the isva support an independent Sexual Violence advisor, who supports that individual from report through to court. We have then been able to make sure that the men are accessing and been able to access at the right support in terms of one therapy, people who want to be involved in group work, people who want to sometimes just have a cup of tea and a chatjust to be able to know that there is someone there for them and between survivors, manchester and st marys, i think we have been able to do that
really well and in partnership. How difficult is it for people to heal, for want of a better word, and perhaps move forward, if they do not remember what happened to them . |j remember what happened to them . think that is certainly an aspect of this case, which is relatively new unique to this case. The majority of men are adult survivors of child sexual abuse who sometimes equally haveissues sexual abuse who sometimes equally have issues remembering what happened to them. But have no recollection what happened because we think these men were spiked, where drug, it becomes even more difficult in some respect to be able to begin to start making sense of 1s own self at were drugged. And what is really important in the support is that we do not necessarily have to focus on getting people to remember, but what we are looking at is we are looking at
helping people deal with how they feel about what has happened to them and how they feel about other people knowing about this now. Duncan craig from survivors manchester. We have to leave it there. Thank you for your thoughts. 00v gfx Greater Manchester police has set up a dedicated number to provide support for any one affected by this story. Its on your screen now 0800 056 0154. Or if you wish to speak to the police and make a report relating to reynhard sinaga, the number to call is 0800 092 0410. Now its time for a look at the weather with philip avery hello once again. Crowds of iranians are shouting death to america, the us president is threatening to bomb cultural sites. The europeans are desperately urging restraint and the saudis have sent an envoy to the white house because theyre very nervous. No one knows how this ends but the killing of Qassem Soleimani has already triggered reactions that have pushed the region into high alert. The iranian leadership needs to understand that attacking americans is not cost free. Thats the kind of hawkish language that is making americas allies anxious there is little support in london for conflict with iran
