Well, he is a Labour Rights activist. Hes worked for ngos on disabilities, on Occupational Health issues. The two of them were friends and that is why they were picked up together. And i think, you know, at a time when other activists are being lauded for their role in the Metoo Movement in other countries in china, such bravery actually lands you in prison. So, i think this really tells you about the state of Human Rights Defenders in china today and just the very fierce repression that they face on a daily basis. And elaine, how difficult is it to find out . I mean, you said that its very difficult to find out what happened in court today. How difficult is it from a Human Rights Perspective to keep across whats happening to them . Its incredibly difficult, largely because when people are arrested and detained, they were initially held in a black site. Sometimes information is able to be passed from other prisoners whove had contact with them. But these are people who are very isolated in the prison system, and its getting harder and harder forjournalists to report on whats happening in china today, which is why the work of brave chinese journalists really needs to be appreciated because they are doing this work despite the risks to their own safety and their own freedom. For the past year, italy has had the most right wing government since world war ii. Now its planning to criminalise people who travel abroad to have children via surrogacy, which is already banned at home. While the majority of italians who seek surrogacy abroad are believed to be heterosexual, many same sex parents fear the new law is targeting Lgbt Families, by making it harder for them to have children. A recent ipsos poll shows that 45 of italians oppose the idea of surrogacy, but 45 were also in favour of granting legal recognition for children born via surrogacy. 0ur Correspondent Sofia Bettiza has this report. It feels odd that surrogacy, which is legal in many countries, would fall under this category. I asked the mp who designed the bill if this is an attack on the Lgbt Community.
