Thats where groups of young palestinians have been throwing stones at the police, venting their anger with this news that a palestinian teenager was found dead earlier in the day. It is suspected that he was mohammed abu khudair, apparently abducted earlier in the morning. Members of the family said they saw him getting into a car, being forced into a car, as he was getting ready for the dawn which takes place in the holy month of ramadan. He was on the streets very early in the morning before dawn. So really tense scenes here. If you look at the political side of things, there was a call that came very quickly from the palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas asking israel to condemn the killing of this young palestinian. But the statement that came from the israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was much more cautious, he said this was a despicable murder and said he would ask investigators to find out what was behind it as quickly as possible. But this is something a bit different. People are very worried too about what might happen when the funeral for this young man takes place later in the day. Of course, this conflict has seen peaks at other times with the start of the second Palestinian Uprising or intefadeh in 2000, of course. And there are concerns that really this could be returning to a greater cycle of violence and lots of worries as well about any israeli action taken in retaliation for the deaths of those israeli teenagers, whether that could escalate things further. Reports from the northern iraqi city of mosul say the same militants told other rebel groups to disarm and pledge allegiance to them. With me is frank gardner. What is the likelihood of groups not only in that region but in africa and other continents heeding this call or is this just part of the ongoing stream that we get . It had a mixed response. They have raided the banks there and taken about 420 million in cash. They have got a lot of heavy weaponry, a lot of which has been now cropping up in syria. It crossed over the border, gone westward and theyre using it to fight their rivals. Who is supplying the weapons . They have taken it from the iraqi army. Initially they were supplied by the americans. They have armored humvees, heavy artillery, a scud, i dont think it works. They paraded some of these in the last 48 hours in eastern syria. And you can see pictures there of them driving through. The oil . Well, the oil there are oil fields in eastern syria, in the area in isis control and there are plenty of reports that isis has been sending that oil to president assad of syria, the very government, the regime they are fighting. Assad needs the oil to keep his army going. Isis needed the money. They may not think twice about that, they got so much money. Theyre also getting money from private donations from individuals in the gulf, wealthy individuals in saudi arabia, kuwait and elsewhere, not the governments, but individuals, although iran and its ally at the Iraqi Government baghdad accused saudi arabia of funding isis. Strongly denies that. No question that there are individuals in the sunni gulf states or the sunni dominated gulf states who consider that funding isis is almost a religious duty because they are protecting sunnis from discrimination by shia in iraq. What happened when it first came to west africa, when it first left off in the south, east of guinea, is that specialists went in for the World Health Organization, they started isolating people quickly, which is how you stop it spreading. But simply that hasnt worked in the way that everyone wanted it to. Why not . Well, because the information isnt really getting through. People arent listening to it. They went out into the communities and gave people advice an how to stop the spread. To recognize the symptoms in people, if people get ill, get them to an isolation facility where they can be looked after and the death rate for ebola is high, a terrible way to die. Starts off with a fever. Ends in internal and external bleeding and organ failure. It is a frightening virus. What happened is people were very scared about it. And they didnt want to take their loved ones to hospitals because they often didnt come back out again. So what were seeing now is real fear and anxiety.
