Theres still serious concerns over whether many of the stadiums will be finished in time. Roads going nowhere, unfinished stands and an awful lot of construction work still to do. Half of brazils 12 world cup stadiums missed the deadline to be ready. At one point, it was said brazil needed a kick at the back side. The governing body of World Football and the games spiritual home was tested. There was a total of seven deaths at world cup stadiums including where england plays their opening game. Brazil says critics even cloenlists. Its not a good idea to hold sporting events in the world to a small group of rich countries. That doesnt reflects the world anymore in the 21st century. Theres a different message coming from the streets. The world cup and money spent is deep division in brazilian society. Many consider themselves football fans. Many are deeply unhappy about the money spent on the tournament. Weve had regular protests. That basically means there will not be a world cup. Government is determined minority protests will not disrupt the tournament. One reason for public anger is long line of promised Infrastructure Projects going nowhere. Abandoned schemes across brazil meant to be a wider world cup vision. A totally wasted opportunity for brazilians to materially improve the lives of people in cities. We havent used the world cup as an opportunity to do that. Brazil has lost the world cup. The scale of what remains is clear inside the opening stadium. Breaking through national barriers, it was a day it was reconnected with Continental Europe for the First Time Since the ice age. Here is that tunnel today. Its actually the service tunnel that runs between the two rail lines either side of this wall here. It meant for the first time in thousands of years you could walk to france. Cocacola said all ingredients meet requirements. We have been finding out more. How much of any of these drinks not coke but drinks like fanta would you have to drink to be worried . Its not clear. Every day, large amounts. He ran into trouble. He started having neurological problems, nerve problems, eyelid droop, weak muscles. Doctors looked at his blood profile and he seemed to have too much of this element. So its being removed. Theres a problem in the European Union any way. What is the Cocacola Company doing . In the eu theyre telling do not put this in drinks. In the u. S. , they say you can put it in but set limits on how much. Many say this is a safe product. Has research been done on smaller amounts of use . Yes. Its been in drinks for years. Lots of us drink these drinks. Talk about the chemical from the products last year. They promised to remove it from everything. Its more of a commercial thing. Because its so damaging . Exactly. And why is it taking cocacola this long in order to act . Weve known about this a while. I guess youd have to talk to cocacola about that. They insist its safe to be in there. They are now listening to consumers. Quickly, if anyone is worried what symptoms would they look for . If youre drinking any four liters of drink, id be more concerned about the sugar in the drinks than the bvo. Thanks very much.
