World now each week on the Friday night show we like to invite in a special guest to join us some of us doing great things that we think that you need to know about we call these people are ones to watch and this week joining us in the studio is 15 year old law t.j. Lottie's a singer from Swindon who's already seeing great success with their music including having one of the tracks picked up by Tom Adele Lottie thank you so much for joining me let's kick off right at the start when did you get into singing Oh God I've always been into music like in my badge. While I used to record in my mom's phone yeah and just listen back and it was like me making up my own lyrics and then I just went from there really and I went music you know lessons they could lessons and I just got really into that so I gets kind of have that confidence from like normal young guys how old were you when you can start it's like taking lessons and things are properly about 88 ish was probably when it was more serious Yannick got more serious I guess and with a musical influences from mom and dad as well. Nope. They are completely not music oh I'm pretty sure they would not even know how to pluck a guitar. So you had to find all out for yourself what was there a point they realize like i k we're kind of right this like this could be going somewhere while honestly listening back to my 8 year old South on my mom's phone I honestly don't see where I saw that I didn't see. The. I guess I was just because I really like doing it and every single day I just pick up my mom's phone record and go to record a record and then it just turned into me wanting to pick the lessons and then it's just so I did it constantly basically you know well longside singing you also play a couple of instruments or I did what are they I listen a piano I'm doing great 3. And I am $72.00 myself guitar and that also comes with basses but I normally have acrylics on so quite. How is that going for you is it gets kind of be diversifying through yes really is really fun because when I'm just like in the song writing me that I can just pick up the guitar and just string unless you know chords in the be like yeah what do you want to ask you like when you when you're writing a song what is the process that you go through where where enough to start yeah I get this whole Actually I would actually start with find the courts which is like you know the music background thing and then I'd come up the lyrics to that and then I come up to the they like the melody of like the other instruments that come up with the melody for the lyrics if after the chords and then the lyrics after that and then the melody of the other instruments that's so interesting do you have like lyrics in mind that you have things where you're like actually I really want to like write a song about this yeah it depends really I could be walking down the street and I could just oh oh that's such a good idea I'm going to quickly record and my phone and I get high enough on the chords and I just like put it into so but otherwise I just have to find the chords and I just get like by you know yeah yeah no that's cool and obviously I take it like you say when you're coming up with these chords do you do you start on piano if that's the thing that you're kind of most comfortable with but having those instruments I guess you can can start to be like Ok I can kind of see how a song might piece together now yeah there is a couple of songs I started my guitar but I mainly moved to piano just because I know it better as an instrument so when I go when I can just do it blindfolded basically yeah it's just so much easier to know on the piano and once you. Once you've written a song once you've kind of got the basis of a song who then produces a my God I claim my God. Absolutely amazing passing his courtly target and he's in Southampton McGavin record my songs with him and given the song we write the song together he's k. Written you with me and he. And 15 year old singer from Swindon and we were just discussing a better show Monday saying the. Show man does funnily enough friends a bit of fun as well I don't think it's got anything to do with the Calvin Klein adverts and buying nothing nothing at all but lots of thank you so much for for sticking around so we talked about how you how you produce tracks why you started but what has been your most successful release today wow that would probably be you my recent song. How how how did that all come together talk me through it so I wrote this song with my son engineer Lee Yeah and we just banged out in the studio a 1st session you know I mixed it did everything and it ended up in a bang essay we released it and then we shot music video in the big Los Angeles hours that we were just talking about it I want to hear you can tell me it was a in credible Yeah how long did you go out for a week and what what's what's the kind of idea with a video. So basically it's simple and it's set in house as well so the whole song is about being confused about our relationship I mean he's the problem is you that's part of the us is the problem and so basically it's just being confused and it's amazing shots in the desert on a car braai. Basically not to tell you any more because you should Ok watch it a there we go there we go we're going to play at the end of this but we want to talk a little more 1st because I want to find out who would you say aside from the show members your influences are. I actually am really liking communicate better his go for and. Keep it in the family and I'll let you know what's what's your favorite track for God probably never be the same probably got the name wrong that I think I think is No I mean it's so there you go you know no it's not but you've received like really positive feedback from some big names including a big this off already it was a little while ago but how does it feel having people like that listen to your music like it's how you they like it yeah yeah it's very very what's the word gives me great pleasure. Because I think for me like I when I was growing up trying to kind of get into presenting and stuff I always kind of felt like just kind of wanted someone to have my back a little bit and like tell me that I was good as that kind of being the same few just as often and you pushing through and it's like it definitely is reassuring when you have someone that. You know you're doing good you're doing good but I mean it's the same when a normal person just has it it's like I think yeah I guess it's kind of validating it's like yeah it's one thing that's you know it's worth cracking on with. In terms of big names I also hear that Jamie Cullum donated a piano to your school some ice cream when I was not before I joined before you thought I was like I thought I was always the way that it was. Supply that piano. Yes I have to take that piano Yeah it's an amazing Piano Man is it like a big grand piano. Black it's shiny yeah massive bigger than the table it's like amazing and this table preparing it hard so it's great but going to that school implying that piano knowing who had been donated by was that that kind of light a far right so I mean it's a piano it's a. Jacket not so I was going to I mean these keys are just precious Sunday the keys are painted just like I had played it yeah he'd played it previously so you know I just kind of taking some of that I mean he's not in anything like Sherman does but to my. Love but Jamie Cullum Yeah yeah absolutely absolutely You may find or future music songwriting competition Bice in 20162018 How did that feel that was that was pretty cool as well yeah yeah all these competitions just had just great experience and even if nothing comes from it I still miss some amazing people and it was still performing in front of people and it was just great fun yeah what was that was the 1st music competition that you went. Oh. It was a singing one yeah yeah yeah you know I honestly can't remember the name of it how long ago was it got I was like 12 Yeah which is only 3 years ago. I am blonde so I have a memory of it. But like going to competitions that that must be like a really good chance to network on it out there and everything yeah I'm still in contact with lots of people that were at the previous competitions and we still talk like clap and yeah yeah that's cool so you're still kind of trying to push those those relationships and stuff like that which is yeah I mean super important . You're only 15 years old of course what is the dream from here. Definitely to be an excommunicate Yeah is that the plan that's that high. But to be honest I'm going to go to college to study music and there's thousands of jobs in music that I would love to Dave so anything really that is in the music industry I wouldn't mind doing Yeah well I've heard you. Like it I think it's right. In a moment but like just just quickly what what voice would you give people the kind of like you know the use of how many years a guy trying to trying to get him to break into the industry were advice would you give honestly I would just say go to many gigs as possible has it have as much experience because when it comes to big time shows it would just feel like one of the little ones that you did just it was just fly when you get Yeah and networking network is so important because you can meet some amazing people that you can grow with he said that was probably number one just before we jump into your music Wakeham people following you on social media hear your music and all about us on Instagram you can find music and on you keep me on Naughty James thanks but you could also buy music but my main platform is Instagram Yeah not going to if the follow if you like this song cross the follow on Spotify press the play absolutely Well you want to introduce the track they were about supply them well this is you by me. Barry you our. Lotty Jerry with you on b.b.c. World so what was money really gets shot wish you know all the best I'm hoping that we're going to be playing more of a music on the show you very soon We've got off on and what Bang is coming up very shortly off the news 3 on the tax thought you message with the words b.b.c. World so every week on the show we we like to defy the slightly negative news I feel like the news is always negative and we like to do something about that. We call it sounds from the shock because we share stories from what. We say. Lord Of The Ring saw music once so quick at the speeds for a minute some 45 seconds of sadness they can listen to some wind down really take him what's been going on around the county over this week. Pretty much nothing good shop around so these are all stories pretty much from outside of work so I work for listeners but the Chronicle was so good opening up. A woman known as the human Swan is set to become the human or sprite. I like to think this is like when your poker morning volves you know me. Sasha Dunn is a conservationist who flew with Buick Swans 3 years ago and now she's planning to follow the migration of Ospreys from the u.k. To Africa she was dubbed the human Swan When she followed the birds from Russia to slim bridge in Gloucestershire. She's now in training to follow the Ospreys migration from Scotland to Ghana the journey will cross more than 15 countries and cover almost 10000 kilometers using a parachute wing with a small pilot and instructor back. Now we love a story of something that so for a bit of money on this show a mock trial apply houses sold at auction for $10500.00 pounds are starting Tang Graham to spend on the. Apparently it was bought by Gloucestershire as point Nash bird and Deer Park which closed last month has been there since 1991 but apparently . They bought it from reclamation yards years ago in 1991. And online all want to how much they bought it from that reclamation yard for Iraq and they have absolutely smashed it and profited highly So good work then finally over in Boston Bristow students are being taught to mind their P's impose legit headline Not me I can take it 0 credit for that probably Wessex Water is trying to get students to keep their toilets blockage free on the story gets better because to do this teaching them. Yes whoever's behind that campaign deserves a bit worse it's water is visiting visiting. University of Bath to encourage fresh is only flush paper and down the road apparently up to 75 percent of blockages caused by disposed bottoms like whites being flushed so stop it stop flushing other stuff.
