All of our conversations were strictly off the record she didn't even want to talk on those terms she was very very frightened not just for her career but for her physical safety talking about these things and so it's been incredibly gratifying to see Mira so strong and you know out here in full bloom and I'm just I'm so grateful for what she's done she's a really brave person and that goes for actually and it goes for actress after actress and woman after woman and now as we've seen in industry after industry people of all genders and the Oscar nominees not used to be alone to Harvey Weinstein he be parading down in this very company that we're on tonight how different is the Oscars going to be tonight you know I'm more interested to see how different the country is and this industry is and other industries are in self policing you know is this going to lead to. Legislation that has a lasting impact are we going to see a different culture around the kinds of professional meetings people take in Hollywood we're starting to see signs of change but there's still a long way to go what has to happen next you know I do think it has to be enshrined in in legislation I think certainly legal systems that were deployed to shield Harvey Weinstein need to be really closely questioned things like the nondisclosure agreements that were used to basically handcuff women to silence for this long. You know things like the the payouts that kept this quiet for as long as they did things like the agree just use a private investigator to intimidate reporters I think that there's a lot that could change to make this better finally we're doing Harvey Weinstein is tonight.
