Whether the road remains fairly busy . Gives a cold although 800. 49 from Foley. From just to this little studio this little sort of space code is it is an accurate description and taken time out. To take sometimes half an hour sometimes an hour just to have conversations can be absolutely anything and they've been recorded and they going to be put in the British Library for ever so it's just like a bit of an archive of conversations people of the ones that we featured on the program here have just been absolutely lovely they've been different types of relationships the small inning we're going to hear from a father and son we're going to hear from Chris Hughes the dad and some of his the son they're from Skull Brett and they just lose different things particularly Christmas which is look so we're going to meet them and find out why they wanted to take part in this project but also we're going to hear a little bit of that conversation I do think they've good the recording of them and if you have a huge cell phone and some something horrible listening back to school is embarrassing but we're going to see what they make of the conversation that they had and also if he's changed anything within the with They've the maybe changed and thought about how they. Talk to each other Christian Some live in Scarborough this morning let's take a look at the weather though only folk patches are going to be slow to clear in some places in fact it looks a bit like a horror film a real monster the most of gray and cloudy and a bit Muki through the day sunny spells expected there with the old Shallum a drift in from the northwest at times top temperature today 5 Celsius that's 41 far in height the saving than any showers will soon fade to leave a dry and cold night with light winds as the night progresses full and low cloud will fall in place as the night low minus one Celsius that's the foreign height tomorrow Wednesday fog and low cloud lifting through the morning as wind freshens from the southeast giving sunny spells through the afternoon winds will continue to freshen as cloud Bales the top temperature tomorrow 5 Celsius that's 41 far in height you. I am. Such as singing along the song is an Amy Winehouse and tears dry on their own Now how's your Christmas shopping going is everything wrapped up already . So just a panic in our house and there is bits of wrapping paper a gift tax line over the place and maybe even still got presents to buy maybe you've got children in you've had to make some tricky decisions about whether you can afford things they might want Well this morning's Listening Project conversation comes from Chris and his son Sam and you hear it's a conversation befitting the festive period Chris is an actor a freelance video producer and a drone pilots and he's also landed a speaking part in the b.b.c. Show Sky this year and Jonathan had a chat with him about it when his son Sam is 10 years old and he goes to primary school in Scarborough and loves to be out on his scooter and b.m.x. But as you'll hear it's something a bit more powerful at someone's Christmas we'll hear little bits of the recording of the conversation in a minute but let's meet both of the 1st because that joining us live from Moscow opera studio morning Chris and Sam good morning how are you feeling this morning nice and festive Yes thank you ritually it but it isn't It was a bit cooler on the coast this morning about listen what's appealed to you about taking part in these this project this Listening Project having a conversation with why did you start to do it decide to do it Chris I thought it was something unique and it was something that didn't used to be done and my uncle was actually approached by the Imperial War Museum some years ago to give his account of his experiences I thought something that should be done more often I think as a sort of historic record of the way life is and I thought it was just a wonderful thing to do but it's not for the family as well this is kind of like a snapshot in time we you and some some what did you make of the idea. Well I was really happy but my shift was a bit annoyed because she really wants to be an actor and he told her but she like wants to be able to get famous and her radio stuff Oh right so she's jealous now because you've had this chance and she didn't is that right you keep getting angry at my dad and saying. Why didn't you ask me why didn't you ask me Chris what have you done. But the family but. The thing is a moment like this I don't know how long how long were you in the booth or do you know how long he would and when we did yeah we would but I was in there so for some for you to have learned one on one conversation with you down for now how rare is that. You know. It's very rare actually because normally I go play out my friends are going to mine and those are moment Playstation but I think I should start talking to my dad. In the car when we talk when you have with us when you're on your way some way that the car of course of the conversation join to have a listen so it says some of the conversation of you had this before no I haven't heard that Ok I was like there's no one like their own voice so you just go Ok over that but haven't you but let's hear some of the conversation that you recorded for the Listening Project This is Chris and Sam I mean your bike is much more suited to doing tricks instance the mind of what we have called mini rock which is quite good yeah what he does I've got I was thinking about like post might sell it get money for it. Maybe. Are you looking for Christmas caught me like the kids you get in America how they just Santa or what seems to be Santa leaves a message and it just says check inside the guard what you think something gets old at the store from if he gets you let's say he gets you a p s 3 o p s 4 story because you make the elves make it all what does it really want pattern how do you think it manages to carry a list of all Muslim baby clothes but the North Pole every different country will have to do that because it's good because the I mean let me just carry a 7500000000 presents it is like so you got to keep going back you reckon I mean if you think the slave probably only holds up because of how far the Rangers go in the edges managed to hold him up because of how fast they go Ok so I was thinking about your 10 years old you've got your own mobile phone now also every kid has it well so I would say Mia now 4 years ago when how it was time that you want a mobile phone we had no you know having a mobile phone you don't need a mobile phone you know which she she uses mom's i Pod every single day I don't even have an i Pod You spend a lot of time looking at videos of people playing video games where you it's cool little game as they make a little money out we should stop father so much much. More than the Coke and Mentos thing well I just didn't want to different things like. If I get a bike you keep bringing that back and tell me stuff of this sort of chap doing we should probably get a lot of scribe I think if I have a partner a funny partner to do it with but I did tell jokes Well the thing is whatever you're not telling me off you'll really funny oh sure everybody has got to have a bit of fun well all right if you go to the. Bike park I was going to be the funniest that I was going to come to that I would probably. Ride up to you like this one handed if I get a bit better for you to do to Wally why and then I just fall off we don't have to fall off it will have to be slapstick comedy does it a negative b. Interest and then the music in the background could be like that and I could be on the floor with like bleeding Faiza like that it can you explain the money with no might be a little. Oh my we are Christians. Well let's get your initial thoughts some what did you make of your conversation with you does. I think it brings out the person. In whatever you call it knowing your personality like a Christmas. I think we got that message and Christian if you are in any doubt some would like to do the bank for Christmas Ok yeah yeah we've had that conversation this morning I with the stuff it was well so it's nothing's changed. In like that's that's got to that's not the that's the desired present whether or not it's going to happen this Christmas I'm sure it's a lot of money so I'm honestly I'm Chris what was it like for you listening back to it so that. You know I couldn't remember that I remember a little snatches that we did by could remember any of that conversation so I was going in trust into their bank. And to hear the things that some say and Russia compact as we called it a month or 2 ago and it is interesting that his opinion hasn't changed on some things is easy yes quite pin you know some you all very like that and it's 10 year old you seem quite confident young chap. Yeah I tried told there you were sorry I tried to be you you know you succeed in Baby you don't try you succeed so listen we're going to take a break for some music and the world will dissect some of the fascinating things that came up in that conversation because the eat is absolutely lovely So we just have a little break for some music so you can use could you if you got time to stay for a few minutes more is that all right we have yes right Billy let's have some music this is a even max and then we'll go back to Chris and Sam and Scott. I . Guess. You Bill. It's not. Just. Me. I. I I I didn't see. The big divide the further north the more likely to happen. I just. Wanted to do with. The gravy no absolutely not Leo for us. From Gary in he says what about Do chefs potatoes potato croquettes Oh this is getting ridiculous now Gary I'm coming to your house from a Christmas dinner Georgie spends way Georgie Gregg weekday mornings from 6 b.b.c. Radio and yes George about tomorrow morning is Julia in for Jonathan this morning and what a lovely day to come in to do this program because Sam and Krista part of our listening project they've had this wonderful conversation on the joining us live from sky but this morning what are you going prisons. Now one of the things you always have to remember when you're in a studio in front of a microphone is that everyone can hear what all time we were listening to Eva Maxwellian told the wall and so there's a record playing and then we had a little trail I was listening across and I was very very impressed with your beat boxing and I just want is very rude of me I'm very very sneaky but I was so impressed I wondered if you could give us a little flavor of it because it's a really nice father son sound so how did you feel about that because you're a really great combination go on then. Sam's thing is b. D. To me since a very early age and. Where you go than to no music just when you're just going just going with it. Right just start and so you're going to start yeah. That was fantastic it was absolutely really you honestly when you near a microphone and somebody some was listening you can listen thank you so much I also find out that people are listening in Australia Good morning or afternoon if you're in Australia we've got family listening in Australia this morning so that's . Yes and thanks for the wonderfully address and morning and see Alison nice to have you along I'm so let's go back to the conversation that you had as part of the Listening Project that well we say we found out that you really want to bike for Christmas some fingers crossed Have you been good to see you. It is good is Ok. And you know you see some relief from the debate is yes so can you just apologize to you dad for anything infuriating you know to that you don't place to say sorry and that helps. Sorry for running away from you. Yes yes that's not a good thing is it's right Sam what do you see now can we forgive him Chris can you forgive him live. I forgive you but look I haven't even got my fingers crossed it's all true sounded relooked and didn't sit well but some you would genuinely sorry when you've learned a lesson from that yes yes because it looked like a big tomato is going to explode. Like a I called him up and I'm still not. The fact that he. Was like a big time awesome you know what you are a double act and I think you know this You Tube channel e going to start with your dad please let this happen I can can we make you and Grace Yeah well you see the thing is you keep saying when we're going to do we want to be going to do it every time he's got a spare moment is out on his bike or he's with his mates or he's gotten as and so what he is sort of comes in and sort of half past 8 it's not lose no time to do You Tube channel is going it's time for we're going to feel better so he needs to actually put some time aside yeah go find time some next time and on Wednesday. Night. Come Wednesday Ok can you Bob and you diary Chris you did you just some I mean time and some Ok we can wish you was home here we come Wednesday is it Christmas yes it's. You might be doing it you know what So tell us about your Christmas Day what you can be doing for Christmas day. What you normally do are normally at my dad's but I don't know if I'm going to be at my mom's on my dad so. Chris do you know what's going on yes I think he's Mom's this year. So I will be visiting family in down in Leicestershire nice and so when we do see some will that be Boxing Day or Christmas Eve will. Hasn't really been arranged yet but to your t.v. See there for a day or 2 lovely so that we get together Christmas now while we're talking about Christmas and then if you had the subject we were talking about in the 1st of the program the must see Christmas films save some I really want a 10 year old's perspective on this so what film do you really want to see Christmas. Well we saw this a couple days ago but I still think it's a good read. The Santa Clause the some to call it who's the who's in that film you know starting at. 0 and it's you know it's famous this time Alan Oh right yeah and basically he. Santa Claus falls off to Mom's roof you know relationships around the many falls off the roof and what he doesn't realize there is a legal clause and the Santa Clause that he now has to become Santa Claus and so this guy starts gaining weight and he's like. Oh I say he gets to ride the reindeer and deliver presents and things and me it's not really what he signed up for but and he's angry at it because he goes into this house and this goes give him milk and he thought he meant to drink the milk and he's like and lactose intolerant so it sounds like you go for it we'll put all knowledge shall we Chris you're must see film at Christmas and well the classics we watch we watch Home Alone The 1st one we've watched all 3 Nativity is recently have away. The. Christmas one is another 2nd one because they all like it have a family Christmas. And I've only seen them on once but yeah I just like all the other classics that you see anywhere on the telly so I think it had to pick one. I watched quite like the 2nd die hard as well which is it's sad to Christmas time and that's just a sort of shoot 'em up action and I have in Chicago airport and with all the airport won yeah yeah it's parts of that are really quite grim and they you know we were talking that in the 1st of the program about some films some Christmas films can be really quite dark and like that you know like you know it's not somebody just talking about crumpets Steve or all of the experts interesting to me I don't know Krampus is a bit sounds a bit grinchy like his He's basically he's a realist in the Grinch he's going to scream at you basically a zombie Sunday's got like a green Be it a little over his face just as. Made to watch The only reason I see is because it popped up on You Tube Oh but I make. You fat you telling you don't there's now a lot on Yammer. About the black no. Santa you see there's a concept I would've thought of yes Zombie song to put that out and I don't see Star Wars either of you. I'm not big star was found I see the trailer looks quite. Pretty I grew up with the original Star Wars the 977 house and Fordham Law and some of the more recent ones something to see and I was a bit lost really I wasn't quite sure what was happening I think I prefer the 1st 3 I've had to do the family tree about who's related to him and so I can work I heard you say earlier Listen listen both of you thank you so much and can we all as as one in North Yorkshire join together and just say a little prayer to Father Christmas please please can someone have a mike for Christmas Ok we don't know we don't know what I'm like please please not experienced there but the thing is there's a deal here Chris because some if you're going to get it out for Christmas you know what you've got to do really really really well over the next week be good very no not not be good very very very good Ok no little no little things and just do lots of nice jobs we don't offer to clean is call things like that just be really kind to you Dr Kay Yeah you know because quite like. They go to properly not missing Yeah. Probably just. Like you don't like trousers or you don't like. What you're going to come you know is so to the conversation Listen thank you so much for coming on the show has been so lovely to me that's Christian life from Scarborough if you want to hear more of the Listening Project b.b.c.
