Online or at the movies it was at a picture was the best film that you've seen in 2019 to cover and gives a call 885996 going through his number to call 85909693 I sincerely want your recommendations the one I saw this year that I liked was joking but I would have liked to seen Judy the movie about Judy Garland's this world of friends over again and also advice to see Rocket Man and he couldn't last Christmas maybe everybody seems to know what the twist was and anyway never mind me somebody who can talk about your recommendations here I'm sure you want to talk to Lisa Mendo Johnson a regular critic in l.a. Good morning Lisa good morning to you and so excited about these films tonight oh yeah we've got a court of us this morning of them as well well this night see you all this evening to you this morning to us this morning to us Ok lots and lots of those 1st of all your sake what was the best new movie that you saw in 2090 or that you've seen so far because no. Right there are so many good wins this year I'm more excited about the films that came out this year than I think in any year in recent memory raising rates really yeah yeah there are just some really good ones I think filmmakers had a lot of fun with what they were doing this year there's a lot of creativity and there's a lot of creativity is whoa I mean Avengers endgame was the point of that Toy Story for was a point of no from the point of that you know you're I mean there's a lot of lack of imagination is what was yeah yeah there is but for example there's another there's a new version of Little Women out which is just a light and. I thought do we need another Little Women and after I saw that it went yeah I think we did that's a great skill is exactly what book. Well is anything ever better than the book I said the question would do that for another fun in a promising Yeah yeah that's a good one. So I don't. Know it's I don't think anything's better than your own imagination but this is a beautiful adaptation and I'm thinking I've seen so many good films this year but there's one that really stands out. And it's one that hasn't opened in the u.k. Yet it's called 1917 I'm sure you've heard about it a World War One movie that is. May using. Oh why was it amazing. It's a journey it's a hero's journey that's harrowing it's poignant that. It's just so well made it's it's really really fantastic he said familiarly about the story it's all about the story for me the filmmaking organza Peaches is taking pride in art form a storytelling art form you can have the Grio standing there before you reading a story like Geoffrey Chaucer did in the courts of those days reading from his Canterbury Tales and particularly the bit when he gets the Miller's Tale and the Reeves tale I'm sure all those whose friends the papering cool over as noise bit brilliantly done brilliant Co way to event moving pictures we can tell that story and screwing cool we breathe and I can imagine now now we have invented moving pictures what about the story oh my gosh the story as I said it's a hero's journey from start to finish and is it ever harrowing it will be at the edge of your seat it's a really great poignant story it's a simple story huge. Soldier has to get across enemy lines to deliver a message a very important message and the things that happened to him on the way are Shasta heart. It's it and the cinematography is beautiful the acting is superb Oh boy it's a special film isn't it. Well it's directed by Sam Mendez and the stars well it's got Benedict Cumberbatch it went there yeah and Colin Firth's in there but they have very very small small parts then the main the lead is ender Scott and boy I'll tell you he just as an incredible job lot of people that you haven't seen before or a lot of people that if you have seen before they've been in more make up but such a wonderful film and so it's released next should you send Yes yes it's coming to you let me see I think I have a a list and when it'll open. Let's see 1917 opens on January 10th. It should have been released 3 years ago but that's another story Don't ask me why don't ask me why I think self-explanatory. 590969 is like 19849091 you think me going to Yad like 50 years to prepare for this one of you for having me 30 some years to prepare for this universe anyway 808599693 that I would like to join Ross King about the best films or they may see interesting maybe not even the best films of films that you've seen of 2007 good or bad how about that raising Bristol with us at a Rose are you. Trying to speak. Have you been to. Nice saw something. You go to the local scene a lot and I get some really good films on. One in particular called I arranged ghost I raise guys stuff yeah well what I haven't had a. Jury yet go on. I thought I am including coming home and it's about his mother in law because she disappeared out of his life when he was 3 is old and may just date defected and nobody told him he traced about what happened and what did happen most she goes mental hospital and. She said giving huge doses of medication and. A sea change it was illegal to kill and she died in an inch to a stigma and shame. On Me. Documentary film I'm seeing here it's a documentary because I was think remote as you describing it. Is going to go. There with their partner on a Friday night sitting in the back. You know me. Sitting Leo launch costs. And there was also what really made you have those years time elation let's hold that So hold that thought Rose Don't go anywhere I'm going to come straight back to you but there's been a wicket in the creek here in New Zealand Adam said to Tallis Adam yet height don't get quite big we could as well because the England captain the American effort has come to an end Joe Root 226441 balls 22 fours and Essex question and still those critics who question both his captaincy and batting runs into this game in the end like Ali pope he went playing an expansive stroke and in looking for quick runs as they look to push towards a picture they leave the moment don't need 84 at 467 but an amazing f.a. Got quite innovation England captain not a huge crowd here but they enjoyed it those who come to seize and very much in the ascendancy but have they got enough time to win the game but lots of big applause for Joe Root but he's out now 422-6000 Adam thank you very much an in a moment I would say you will have lots of fun because we'll be asking Lisa Mandel Johnson to talk through the rules of cricket as well say listen my. Interaction authority on that front is then a moment but Rosie bristles the authority or Nerine's goes so and you absolutely right Rose that some people want to go to the movies to hear a true story what's the difference why do you like a true story when you go to the movies rather than reading going to see a drama. Makes a move personally just more real and there's another film about the use of anti psychotic medication called 55 steps and hell in a phone call to c.n.n. Because I'm got a computer I can't watch it but it's about this team of people just disappearing into mental hospitals the next kid. And I find out what happened in Toronto. Did you know when the Cuckoo's Nest as a same subject will be a drama yeah I already saw it once I did think it was a bit it was a good film but it was a bit traumatised. Wasn't it where the bird was a picture that both sides found things. As they did night people out to be completely people in hospital or complete enough enough both which is the case actually there just take place it was a time like this this man's mother incoming or she she got depressed after giving birth to him before that she was totally managing. And I just think more people know about this the use of anti psychotic medication because just recently here in breast we've had a young man say through this medication on women it killed in. His family his mother it's true and so as a consulate in Australia they attach a thought to try and get the postman that says a lot to shoot each signal or any tucked away you know but they know my rings true to route into the day on. But I just think it will to get some sort of get some statue of whatever that is tasteful you know it may not get the statue the school the Oscars but it might get something of a statue and thank you for bringing it to our attention more importantly Rose really appreciate that and I suppose a shows the power of cinema. You know you can make people. Really concerned and you can get people to be touched by the stories you tell and how you tell the stories as well but that's true and you know Irene's ghost I think they they sort of soften the message or made it more palatable by using animation in there which is that can be very effective and that can take a movie that might seem very very you know or Rowse and bleak and really sort of I want to say soften it a little bit but also make it just a little easier to take without coming out and being depressed yourself you know that kind of thing so I think they I think it was a really good device that they used in there with the animation so when I joined you know it was always released in 2018 so any award that would have gotten would have been last year. But anyway so I beg your pardon what was the question when it was made on the way back to the cricket questions now for you just so that we know right around laughter was not a on where's mid on with that being somewhere between your navel and your go on your Adam's apple. As painful for you going to say you know it's all right you know. Yeah yeah. For you you know how. Cricket boom days anyway I said it was just. Really hard and have a good or somewhat silly point. That would be. A quip I throw out when I'm talking about a movie I don't really like Ok it's not about on says no about on but let's stay on the cricket for now Ok how many believe how many making over. And over. Do you ever need more than 2. Yes no. Religion until you were good all right around where evolved hasn't been told. Because it is exceedingly musing for us. To graduate eyes beholding as I climb you'll slow the Cat Hill em room chestnut fans unfolding symbols of my cat Hill What care I for parts disaster applicants for cricket my nothing much of cricket no ring I think you know I'm talking about nothing much you know real conscious money. So I would. Let's get back to the movies you're a specialist subject I think it's safe to stay with them but I was sure you could do well for not talking out of that one Lisa John Symond film critic who was in Sochi about the films that you see in 2009 seeing which was the best bet as said me a text leases saying the Irishman film yeah slightly overdrawn he says because it's about 3 hours long isn't it so yes and over 3 hours over 3 hours he says thought you were drawing but damn Nelly nearly every minute of it was beautifully crafted the cinematography and sound shot were unbelievably good in the script was tight as usual for a school say z. Film nearly every minute was beautifully crafted Don't you wonder which many to know it's pretty crazy. Yes but after you know almost 200 minutes. You. You've got it. Hit with nearly every minute during I mean I if he probably if he said which meant it were not was not beautifully crafted I would probably not remember it because there's a lot of movie. In the Irishman it's it's very long a lot of people are saying that it's just sublime I'm not on that boat but a lot of people just think it's one of scores as he's best Why do you know it's described to that you so well I'll tell you the performances are amazing but there is a lot it's all told in that you know it's Robert De Niro's character is old and. In a home and he is recollecting his past and I frankly think that's kind of a tired and overdone trope to use in a film you know we see it so much we also see it in the 2 pokes by the way you know and so I have dubbed it another. White man's plaiting movie. That's a very. Yes it is very hard and I think in all sorts of flak for that we deservedly so but now I'm just I'm not sure if it's deservedly so but if that's what it is if that's what it is for you then that is what it is for you but in terms of I wasn't thinking so much about your description more about the fact that we've seen this kind of trope before because surely that's what the movies is another. Version of a trope the we're familiar with indeed if we're not familiar with it the movie becomes a little bit. Estranged from us doesn't know yes well the thing is there is we seen this done so many times in the 4 and I liked it I like a film that shows me and said it shows me what's going on instead of having someone explain to me what's going on. And yeah I'd rather have the story unfold before my eyes rather than somebody talking about his recollection of what happened. You know my wife's like that she doesn't like mansplaining she doesn't have a white man's plaything. His and that is. Very Christian I can show you a good meal in Middlesborough with us Neo Good morning. Then Great to have you with us and I'm going to see that your film that you've enjoyed and presume you've enjoyed it 2019 is one that a lot of people would be familiar with for. Other reasons. It's. The least. The t.v. Series I was unhappy. Frittering and that was accepted there I was really curious to hear your thoughts on it. I didn't when it 1st came out I didn't say it because I wouldn't sense it out of my. Cheek Yukos here. But I hadn't been putting off I just couldn't find the time and the train but then I just watched the last episode of the morning when I went to sunset. And I left the cinema politics a lengthy Serry process. I really enjoyed it. I understand that I thought it was so fantastic and you know over here we just adore anything British and so you know and it was very well received here everybody raved about it everybody thought it was great myself included but some times when it said you know about your own country you'd be a little more critical of it so I'm glad to hear that you loved to hear and listen to the need of support you know are such a cricket. Goals for now that. I think is fairly good sense for ruining the ending thank you very much. Forced to. Search the films coming out which are the focus which ones. And. Mission impossible. Oh those will be fun also be fun ones are next year yeah one would just come back to Downton Abbey for the new why would anybody you see in the series books what's the movie because. I did so. Because I'd seen a trailer so yes something I want to go and say you know and I was not disappointed . But well I was so we love those characters we've come to love them were invested in them we want to know what happens to them and that life style captures a mad the imagination and it's so interesting this so many and actually. There are sort of certainly as a. Yeah yeah they got that in the works and you know they kind of the way that the way this one ended and I'm not going to give away any spoilers but it was left wide open for another one. But what does it do differently from the series a sudden kind of I mean what was this the movie rather than just enough referees this Airis or another cup of absence of the series because. As you know the t.v. Series completely finished. And they said I want censored print but to save the series. And. Then I said still and some of the characters weren't Good Morning Britain unless a. Certain maybe an American went on and. I thought it was very good and. Well it's the money they brought but it's the same in the movie if you see what to me with the movie yes they brought back the series . It's. Just an exercise in a set of a series in a very but then they lied because they said they were going to do another series and they've done another series by way of a movie. No. I'm just I'm just asking I wonder if there was for example the movie of Game of Thrones would that be successful Lisa the merge in the. My gosh people will be allover that yes and you know when I miss it will be 2 that will not surprise me the movie of Game of Thrones looking at my Game of Thrones last because everybody wants to know what happened but you expect to see something better than the television series in a movie in movies a cinema you go the high tech or your equipment of the cinema the widescreen in the atmosphere and everything like that if this is going to be like t.v. Show wasn't put in the. Well you know and that is that is one thing about about the movie it is very episodic it feels exactly like an episode everything is you know tied at neatly end and that I think that if you know if you're into a day you joined the series why would you want to see what happens to the characters and you know what this movie version it has a much bigger budget for costumes and it is worth saying for the costumes alone they are around about the doses were incredible which was the best experience subjectively then you know which is a better experience. In the comfort of your own home where you can go and rush out for a company any time you won't snuggling up with a hobo your couch or whatever way you consume the t.v. Series or go into the movie you know having to dress up to go to the movies to see comfy chairs nowadays in the movies but nevertheless Yeah yeah I watch on the big screen and also pay 15 quid to go in for the pleasure of it which is the better experience subjectively for you. Up a little I enjoyed a series of pilots I was going to see them as a. Ok well said and well done thank you very much the. Movie of Downton Abbey is one of the movies of the year for Neo in Middlesborough what about for you oh at 808-590-9693 which is the best or maybe even the worst or the indifferent movie that you've seen in 2019 which movies have you seen in 2019 the you want to talk about pick up the phone and talk not to me but to Lisa Johnson Mondo our film critic he's in there labor joins us now for the next hour and a half 885909693 is the number to chat to her directly 1st let's get the latest 5 Live headlines has Allison he's on digital b.b.c. Sounds nice What does still add a bias so far I remain as Ghost and Downton Abbey the movie the movies of 2019 that our listeners are saying this share that gets their support sorrows in Bristol when firings goes to documentary new images they down so now be found in any case and so to the series we have for Downton Abbey the movie was the best from all the worst films that you've seen in 2019 do get in touch for a phone in of the next hour and a half we've got the company of Lisa Johnson Mandela who is often critic in l.a. . Knows a little bit more about cricket than she knew when she started this phone in now and I thank you Larry just a little bit more at Jack instant Leonard's own See even though Neal in middle gave away by the way no spoilers on this program plays not just in terms of movies but in terms of cricket as well because Jack sword new images were gave away. To actually said when I asked her how many bowls make an over in cricket she said today he revealed the 6 over. Jack in Sydney and his own sea says we should informally said they in Australia it's 8 Bowl the Macon over did you know that. I had no idea they did try and have more balls. That kind of sounds a bit wrong. But thank you for saying that and we don't keep in mind because it's not true he just wanted it he said. So that we can all offer you when you go around Australia saying no surety 8 balls making over down under. Their. Own now so now we know with President Clinton's me oh my goodness Ok I'm going to give their mood No you go to running away anyway let's put that to one side. One of our listeners agent says Chino ruins the Irishman Why does the router. Wow Interesting each well picking a place Jimmy Hoffa and they've got this weird technology that makes people look younger and it could Cheers case they also made him look chubby or and so I think a lot of people get distracted by the way he did books. I personally thought is his performance was really great but you do keep on looking at it like how is natural but she really did under all the special effects and pressure that actually it's it's hard to tell so I can I can understand why he would say that Jimmy Hoffa by the way for those who don't know that seems to boss union boss in the States he disappeared in 1975 and has never been seen again since then but you like preachiness performance Yes I did I did yeah I thought it was I thought it was a great performance but it was a little distracting to look at him with all that go went on with all the special effects and don't think his performance a little bit. Over the top. Oh completely everybody's performances are over the top in that cell but that's that's one of the things that holds your interest for 3 and a half hours and do you not think he just shouts for 3 enough hours in the movie Well you know that could be a point could be made for that yeah it was it was a main making the point is Adrian saying look these performances over the top his performance in Scarface was over the top but people love them so scoff as a i'll for goodness sake this is many job over the top you know with the amount of cocaine he's trying to consume and yeah they'll be people who tell you that is the best movie ever made ever there are people who you know genuine people he's intelligent and more intelligent than I do say that nothing will he's serious but you know they love the movie and you know that slander me and that movie is also responsible for one of the greatest film lines of all time that everyone remembers they have you know you have a little brat he's come into that was going to you beat me in Syria you had a little friend anyway so you think Al Pacino's performance nevertheless was this and performs Yeah I like it I felt that it fit the movie and probably fit the character. And so yeah I didn't mind his I didn't mind it shouting Ok. There's more this Morphy the film I enjoyed was the letters from me were Jima the Japanese perspective of the movie Invasion of the island in World War 2 says Matthew Birmingham that's not recent film is still days of film isn't oh yeah that's a good one that was yeah and that was I thought it was very clever the way it was done it sent kidney's who it was at the train Eastwood one less for me moved. Is that is that they went yeah yeah I think instantly and what won't what was interesting about the way it was done. I'm trying to I remember liking it a lot I'm not remembering a lot of details. I just want to know how you tell that story over and over again can some of the people who don't tell the story in fact the time the film came out seems remember there were 2 films that featured the. The battle for the were Jima as it were and this one seems to have told it from the Japanese perspective from the last resurrection and that of friends yet that is exactly I just looked it up and that's that reminded me of what I like the Soboth sides in this one and. You know I I love something that can present a side that I was not aware of before in prison anything that I was not aware of before and you just don't get a lot of sympathy sympathy for the Japanese in most World War 2 films so I thought this was this was really well done and presented a side of it that a you know a perspective that I had never had before one perspective that we should introduce in the phone in is political films because you know we're in the midst of an election campaign over there and oh yes politics is one of those things like football that doesn't really get well in movies I would like to suggest perhaps apart from Citizen Kane. That fell and then of course as the politics of Henry the 5th the t.v. Version not that you know later version as it were right and then there was a politics in that film most of whom with. Oh of course you know the film that. Well once I figured out this goes for the ladies in the cricket in New Zealand in reverse is not. I'll buy you some seconds I promise you. Just before not a problem so 476 by a major meeting in the by 100 in one runs just quickly run through that which is the folks actually quickly didn't lose a wicket for most of the day and something lost a whole rash of them Joe Root they stand up for my $226.00 he made a fantastic effort for the captain only pope $75.00 some current and 11 not at once mate north 8 and nought so it means that England lead by a 100 we've got a couple of sessions to go that desperate to get as many wickets as they can become afraid to forecast tomorrow they don't he's not great to have to win this match to square the series but they've said that 476 at least by 101 Don have you worked out the film yet I need a few more seconds. And it's not for long oh by the way you'll never believe this but Lisa John Symond our American creates a Los Angeles now knows how many bowls make it beef before she knew nothing about cricket but I think we gave her the said Show important considerations in regards to cricket we're doing and you know they say don't every day is a school day thank you very much do you know that. By the way I do you know about cricket. Oh I'm not sure I do actually I should. Say I'm learning something and I'm like no no no I didn't mean it that way at all believe me we learn each time we go and see you later in the cricket but it's a really good and funny bit about a bloke that needs a job desperately goes for a job applies for a job as a cricket. Probably a private school and he. Is me a dog where is silly how many bulls make me go and it's a funny one. Fantastic or should I should looking at right away while she continues to think about I filmed I'll test shown at the next Sunday coming to live or the like. Going to speak to every day is called I thank you out of you Halle Berry was in that movie is what Halle Berry Warren Beatty Jim into the film and took the. Worst that's the one that's the one always yes because I was a political campaigning thinking oh honey Berry and Warren Beatty in the yes the phone went you know and another good job at political movie All the President's men that ran for it and. That was a classic actually yeah. Surely there's been one British Oh I'm all right Jack was a bit of a political movie was no more I chat with Peter Sellers Oh yes oh my gosh and being there and you know darkest hour dices can make it be considered a political film the one about Winston Churchill from last year of course schools schools schools schools it was Oscar winning Oscar winning and yes yeah Ok so best political films and that's true that it's in the mix as well as we've got in there . Mark in Bolton is with us how about. Good morning to go on and Lisa good morning Ok Thank you good to speak good to hear you I'm very well I'm very well. And of course you've got a crack of film to talk about huge and I think it was really nice to not so good last year. But he only came out on t.v. Today and sadly Larry I think it was 16 conspiracy. And I bought the d.v.d. Now I didn't go to the cinema but I saw a lot of what a great trying to spend that was absolutely fantastic a little I'm only saying you haven't told us what it is but she just a headbang is saying you know. Well you know I mean I got him in his car and. Oh you. Know it was really a buy off be able is really a by Friday night he wasn't I know it was about Queen but it was all just come Freddie Mercury's Kerry. And I saw the actor that played Rummy Molly. This early so you know you win the Oscar for that Lisa you won the Oscar for the run yes it did and I think it was well deserved. I think of the movie the mob feel free to totally as well by the way. To me is well I'm not Billy no mates but just thinking she's probably assume expert than I am. You know did you enjoy it Lisa but you may read I love that I loved that movie I thought it was terrific I thought yeah I thought Ronnie knowledge did a really great job and I'm also her good I'm glad to hear that you don't hold it against him that he's not a Brit. I think it is linked Yes And you know did you know that did you know that he's not British Yes I knew he wasn't but then again Freddie Mercury wasn't. You know I mean it was actually Ray You must say you sensors are awesome but yeah yeah yeah. I thought he was crazy he started the very beginning when he was working at the core and you know it got probably treaties by the. Workers and. I we met Brian May and Rajiv thought I was killed as well he kind of got you through the whole scene litany of it all really queen came to be formed and. You know I say we call it a song. I thought it the whole thing was fantastic and I think my cry much. I mean when we were the Live 8 times. It actually ruled me I actually thought that spreadin treeing Koizumi is that convincing only playing dumb I thought it was but I do wonder though if you're huge Queen fan if the movie any pick tells you anything really you just wonder how you feel if you have big a fan when you have the group oh my fish amount my David Bowie fan I'm a mob only fan I was only about 3 right the other way. I just love all those seventy's panels because you know with the Syrian. Well I am really yes you know you can just put it in just one and so I'm going to run but imagine I think you could do about take. Mark Bowden because it's so far back in history since he died and his year used to be for Freddie Mercury I suppose that would be about 9093 years with Freddie Mercury you know is about 20 years in this is he. You know he and. Sorry. That's 1977 he died on the 16th September or is it Elvis died on the 16th of August Yeah yeah I mean you know there's I mean. It's just tragic isn't it that somebody. Stopped yet if I was a know if you know the glamour or just. You know a lot about accidents and I just seems crazy to think how would you feel if they made a movie about. Love that that's it that's so intriguing what occurrence that. You will play the. That and what I want to know what I think you and I would suggest a thing what he'd. Do was play the part that David Bowie would be very hard to find on it really handles. People who don't want to you know Camille you know. So Lisa I think Joaquin Phoenix comes to mind I think he could pull something like that us haven't seen you know. I haven't seen him in Joe I think he could pull almost anything off. Yeah is what we have now on the slate still resemblances slowly they can work that one out nowadays may have you seen the press that things they use oh yeah thank you dear abby now makes almost in again but here's the point you are answering the very point Guy woods or bring up Mark you see the point is Lisa is fascinating is the concept of making a bar pick about David Bowie is you'd have so many people who've invested a lot of time money heartache pain and love in this in this incredible artist they'd be nitpicking if you lie or you know saying doesn't look quite like I'm doing really to lie that didn't at lie that he hasn't got the spirit to say quote we all be finding bits to be critical of a lot of me because there's no way anyone acts and I think this is the point Marc is making There's no way anyone acts that could in capsule lay this remarkable human being as he was well I think people thought the same thing about Freddie Mercury and I know there are a lot of a lot of big Queens fans that were frustrated by the movie the chronology wasn't quite accurate the way they told the story but but still I think the great thing about it is that it I think it captured the spirit of Queen and the spirit of Freddie Mercury and I think Remi Malik was smart enough not to try to sink. Now you know why not release his weights Yeah yeah so I wouldn't try that myself either but yeah. And thanks for the call by the way Mark thanks for the call Mark in Bolton the talking about baby rhapsodies be one of the films of 2019 that he saw and love that's the question this is salient question who is evenings film phone in her own 5 Live What's the best or worst of the films that you've seen in 2019 whether you went to the pictures to see them or otherwise and also if you fancy throwing in a political film that you've enjoyed over the years not a study from this journey and then feel free 080-859-0969 extension 3 is our number 88599693 going back to just this soffit least. With Freddie Mercury It was almost. And I say this when you got most respect. A caricature you know he was a larger than life but a kind of a you know he was an actor on a stage. David Bowie I feel his go a lot more new it's not saying it's about perform or anything a lot more nuanced to the way that we perceive him and I'm not saying either that Freddie MacThe mercury is not full of debt in his real life or the life that he chose to show us was glad. You know right everybody showed us so many different personalities almost kids who phrenic from you know the Stardust you know where every where later on in life and so on that I just wonder if anyone Well if you're not it should be great you know to be able to pull the of Federation you yeah and a lot has to do with the screenwriting too you know the things that they that you choose to show. And screen that you know it might be a little too soon to do a film on David Bowie. But I would bet you there are probably several in the works I mean some several hopefully full screen writers and producers that are working on David Bowie projects I would be surprise was it too early to do a film this year on Elton John Rocket Man Yeah there you go with Aaron educated 10 singing the songs himself yeah. Yeah yeah he pulled it off he pulled over his fences are more or less but did he pull off the carrot to the performance of the carrot of you. I think I think he did a fine job the movie to me was a little schizo phrenic and didn't want to be a musical didn't want to have you know choreography in there didn't want to be a bio pic and didn't want to be musical by a pick I mean it was it was you know sometimes there it for me it was a little discordant when people broke into a song and dance around him it didn't really seem like it fit with the movie you know and other than concert scenes so it's it's not my favorite bio pic and. Of course you know Elton John was behind it all the way and really liked it and it seemed that it was trying really hard to get his approval Yeah yeah it's the film that he wanted to say Yes exactly exactly it's the film he wanted made about himself so while it's fine and boy into as happy I wouldn't like to see a little more grit in there a little more reality a little less fantasy so of course if you want to get someone's approval while they're alive you've got to go that route so maybe it was a little too soon to do a more realistic film about Elton John but it was a feel good movie and there's nothing wrong with that didn't vote listing see Miss Elton John movie role command and do you agree with what Lisa's saying or not by the way what was you know talking about your criticism of it what was the worst film that you saw in 2090 you critics said many films was the worst film seem. To matter in Mecca whose field whose semi takes about the words film hands down by a country mile of 2019. Boy or a sense to pass when I try to put those out of my head I'm not a big fan of last Christmas it were something else that we were coming on so that recommends that you know not behind the times guess means I know it's got such a pretty cast I love the cast but that but you know the film itself I was not a big fan of that damned well I'm I'm very interested to see what your listeners says is the worst film of the year for him yet movies committees live by cost alone . No You know I feel sorry for the actors and the cast and gays because they see all these unsolvable cost movies in the old days and you go to watch them because you know it's the carry on crew doing another movie or whatever it was you know. And does just as some point or other during the last 50 years we have been you know managed by the characters Oh at least the crew the the the cost rather than Kurtz's cost Ok What met a Macas field says was the worst film of 2019 remember not just the worst show but the worst by a country mile then if you have the expression stateside heiress it means you know you can have to Joerg about America and to find a film that's worse than this. Hands down his voice his hands down you know hands down. Is worse for. You know the youngest today they say I swear down I swear down I know I'm not all that expression you know the I know the youngest of the others I swear down I swear down this is was from ever you know met she's in the old school which is hands down she's met him at his field and he says words from hands down by a country mile the kitchen oh in the kitchen was not a good film and that's a that's a film with a great cast but not it not a really good film Yeah that was problematic he says very confused story and characters. And in fact it's the worst film are saying for a number of years he says well we're wrong woud have had to go you go great because how on earth should anybody who makes a film a rubbish show from a great cause should be banned from ever making any movies ever ever again. But by who is by who is a standard isn't the worst movie you know I mean you can't I mean anything with Melissa McCarthy is going to be even semi watchable. You see what I mean but yeah yeah agreed it was a bad movie but it was the worst movie ends down by a country mile you've got cause they don't holler for the job for you for good I want to make a Imagine me imagine me making a movie with James De Malley Monro wrote cards and it turns out to be a. True Liz Taylor if you're going to say and it turns out to be a bad movie would I ever get into show my face again on this well in public in all and would you ever be able to get your film financed is the big question why would I ever be allowed back into the United States or press send notes of France or anywhere else for people to find a good money to go and see it.
