5 and Fahrenheit's cloudy then clear tonight with a free saying the latest it b.b.c. Radio something like. Election 29 sane on b.b.c. Radio stuff. Not the ad breaks fests b.b.c. Radio stuff so the 1st televised to election debates all of the season this time around it's on i.t.v. Tonight the Liberal Democrats and Scottish National Party wanted to be part of it they were in school then not it's Boris Johnson conservative leader Jeremy Cobain The Labor leader going head to head on television tonight so what do you think of these debates do they actually influence how you feel. About. Anything about. What do you want from a election to bikes it's annoying. Caller early on science you want some facts and some figures backed up by facts too many are jaw dropping only watering sums being bandied around at the moment so what do you want from that meeting of those 2 tonight on on t.v. Plus the National Lottery 25 years old today is it something that you old your going to isolation has benefited from maybe a village hall a sound a grant your playgroup whatever it might be love to hear how the National Lottery is helped you and all you still playing or is it too difficult to win and too expensive don't be shy this morning cool Tundras month full on scene one scene one b.b.c. Radio self. The range in the way. Brings us to. Just go to this weekend hear from. Hello good morning could I make a request to the upcoming election to the candidates are talking only about themselves and what they would do not about what the other parties have not done a won't do it might be worth a listen then thank you very much I'll do my best on Thursday when we have election to fight for the way for me constituency we got apes which Next week an embarrassed net result that we all dropping in doing stuff in the other constituencies as well so you will hear full coverage of what's going on around Suffolk as best we can but limitation on time this time has meant that we perhaps on able to do as many election debates as we ordinarily would but there is one on the telly tonight 8 o'clock on the i.t.v. Johnson versus Colby in the i.t.v. Debate Juliet she moderates a live debate between the Conservative and Labor leaders in the run up to the general election we've got a special program just ahead of that tonight at 7 am with Adrian Goldberg on b.b.c. Radio Suffolk but right now what you watch tonight what do you want to get from it what do you think of these debates love to hear from you don't hold back 080-141-2121 John writes Being in Ipswich to get a flavor of what people think about they say kind of general election to bank. Accounts. I put forward his proposal I think in fact is sensible affordable until. In. My mind it's all it one struck me you know way you don't need to watch it because you've got p.r. In your head are you going to. Watch it but. My mind so yeah is there anything that could happen that you know the other person could say that it could do to change your mind or you fixed. The moment now. Everybody. We'll call in something happened on the way to heaven here on b.b.c. Radio. Takes a good morning Barrie I'll be watching tonight it should be the best comedy program of the year he says. From b.b.c. Radio trying to get the very latest now he's Gary. Just looking at cues around. 12 that's very heavy and is about a 20 minute delay of Marion So the change going northbound that he's queuing at the moment also looking at the ice as you go into very soon Edmond sell the rougher ride delays there but unused on the trains Chelmsford to shame feel there were some delays there all of the ladies have actually cleared try and should be getting back to timetable I'm Gary skull for b.b.c. Radio Suffolk travel if you see something or can update me call 80141212 well. Still Radio this is b.b.c. Radio. Germy call been going head to head on i.t.v. Tonight so we've got a lot of comment coming in on this one today let's talk to Margaret who's on the line from Stowmarket Good morning Margaret good morning very well what do you think about this debate tonight you know. Because any right. But. I think that's the way the pie because you know that. The guy that. You know you know they call this. The public. Clue. That will get through back. Moments it's clear it's clear way your decision has already been made I think people have actually you know they sad but. That's it but it's a lot like she does a lot of you know Ok Well in fairness I don't want to stop electioneering with the individual in pace at the moment it's. Clear where your votes going. We have them then if if the player already decided well it's not just stab it arc yes found out they could have the said they could say that bit the lot but I think it's just a waste of that time because you know just. All publicists all public. By . Now that you didn't think that Jeremy Coburn would do a great job it would argue that Boris Johnson is just full of bluster and there's no detail about the filibuster but I think I think he would definitely he would get through this because of it just so this is a this is a break this is a Bronx general election for you isn't Oh yeah definitely because they'd be. True. To stay. That way but it was just one of the how many fantasies not everybody does so when you come people. You know it's just sick. So I you know I just take Joe because he just got a k. I don't want to I don't want to go about that individual about last night's about. Discussion today so we'll well leave that one there thanks very much Sean in Felixstowe I won't be watching I've got to watch paint drying total waste of time son and I think that the policy should only really make promises that can be fulfilled. The 5 year term for instance he's choosing Labor's promise of free nationwide fast internet by 2030 that's 2 or more general elections away when either party Menon no longer be in power and another might reverse what they 1st set in place they might fail to deliver so why project stuff so far ahead it would be unlikely that the same prime minister would be in place 10 years later in any case says Simon but in such these t.v. Debates are rubbish this coming in on the text just another hideous import from America politicians are like kindergarten tots all vying to impress each party ups the amount they will spend in a ludicrous fashion and just where Labor getting the trillions from to give free board banned for a university freeze face in renationalise the railways who knows well everybody's promising big sums the Greens today as well and everybody's promising big sums of money she says it's all of them thank you very much John and Southwold I will be watching Boris Johnson and Jeremy Coburn in the head to head tonight but really only to back up my thoughts a can't imagine Jeremy call been leading this country I've never heard this man speak without venom in his voice an activist not a politician. Lots of people getting in touch this morning on this one today Sean's been in touch this is not going to influence me I wouldn't vote for Boris Johnson if a gun was held to my head Simon it'll be car crash t.v. Mark and Joe's been in touch I'm not watching because it's only going to be a 2 party debate where the Liberal Democrats and where are the Scottish National Scottish nationals the 3rd biggest party in the House of Commons and both going to court yesterday to try and get some representation in this debate tonight and and stories are I won't be watching them probably not voting either I used to believe in the fact that if you don't vote you know entitle to moan off towards But it's all getting so getting on my wick canal and you can't believe any of them and. Probably never have been able to they are old just looking off to one person and that is themselves and and so it goes on today lots and lots of comment it will be interesting to say tonight about you will probably have some fallout on the program at some morrow morning just a few more here on fed up with this government and I'm certainly no interest in Germany. Would like to see is who's going to restore student grants to n.h.s. Student. And Paul about no interest in bars Johnson I'll be reading the Green Party manifesto today and then I'm going to football. And Alan in sex Monday on the t.v. Debate will be the same old same old I'm only interested in who will lead us out of the European Union and up hold the Democratic vote of 3 years ago thanks very much for the comments we will have more as the week goes on and on Thursday we have the general election debate here. At breakfast when we'll be focusing in on the wave me constituency. The Bangles Manic Monday 930 here moment the breakfast lost half an hour of the show today let's look at the National Lottery now which is 25 years old today the very 1st draw took place 25. I can remember it very very clearly. Hoping I was going to be the millionaire convinced I was going to be the winners would be so easy so many people bought lots and lots of tickets went to syndicates didn't they do you still play that is more expensive now and it's time for the women more balls maybe you are involved with an organization that's benefited from the National Lottery 25 years since the 1st draw Let's take a selves back to 1994 and the excitement that we had ahead of the draw. 60. 9. 24. To play the national lottery. Pick 6 numbers on a plane. That separate. A one pound look after taking on an estimated. That big and coming down it could be you hasn't been so far away 101421218 nearly was for Jillian who's been in touch the worst thing she says that happened for me was my full Saturday line my special numbers came up on a Wednesday lottery which I would have won my best win 225 pounds or since its launch on the 90 then remember 1904 the lottery has created funny for 1500000000 acres across the u.k. 56000000000 pounds has been handed out in prize money and over 34000000 pounds goes to National Lottery projects every week one of them. The pro quarter trust Andrews the chief executive he's on the line now morning Andrew morning Mark thanks for joining us tell us about protocol or 1st of all so where music school. Young people across the country were based at least an abbey and such a course a wonderful location to have music courses and we also have a big big program for Special Educational Needs which again is national goal with a particular focus on on suffered and how has the national 3 helped you so we received a grant from the awards for all scheme which is very much a community one of the community focused regionals games and it basically paid fully for a recording studio and compositions studios that we've put this in are very anxious building actually spirit for the studio in the 14th century Keston hole of a snap it was the old guest accommodation of the monks and up in the attic there's this wonderful studio where our students and mostly impact our students with special educational needs can go they can write their own film scores with the animation project up there and it really brings their creative ideas to life. So do you think when you look back over 25 years it's been a good thing helping to cool just like us he asked me why I could just remember the the launch of a cigar not sure about Tom I was. Totally engaged but it was one of those things that give her the news you are aware of and you aware of it's of crescendo in terms of its activity and the images of things of the sporting thrust it really is you know a lot of patchwork of some things but something like the lottery is something that really focuses community that focuses hardship as well and tells of our young people who have very severe autism real communication difficulties something like the facilities that it's paid for it's no exaggeration to say along with other standards like like children need other states also. Recent that's really it's a lifeline for them because they replaced that communication social skills crowd here about that you need stuff last week I know you were with Leslie during her last week and you're good to talk to this morning so that's where some of the money's gone Alan's on the line from great cool an aunt who was the syndicate organizer for awhile Good morning one morning in La Good morning thank you for joining us this morning so so where where were you syndicate manager then. The company I work for an Ok And you did that for longer around a syndicate on the last free and health lot. You know I 1000000 for 11 years Wow So you had the responsibility clicked you were the money making sure but. Stuff yeah. Responsibilities sure for. Me Actually for a difference and he had a lot of problems getting the money. He didn't tell us and since it's the way to do it isn't it and then if the big one comes up they've lost and I have my exactly the . Pay create 23 members pretty good so how did you get on a profitable exercise Alan. Ok I do understand that it's not about the winning 'd but obviously Oh no I think it is. What it is about the cool. We won 5300 pound in 11 years. About 30 percent of what we put in. The sense quite a lot but then when you break it down. So no where did you get anywhere near what you'd spend. Not so. You know we had a chance to win big boy Isn't 'd it your bond that counts I mean it's no different to when I was little my mom and dad would do the pools every week and women whenever we were in the car they would sit in the front and all be in the back and they'd be talking to each other about how they were going to spend their winnings and what they were going to do with it and and it's no different to that a spouse. You know why would say that if I hadn't put a call stop we would still be here and America really wants to carry on but I didn't want to pay the extra money yeah it's is a lot more expensive now heard that spoke people often there are more bowls now on this is more difficult to get the big one for May increase the number of boats in the cruel We just what we took out of the French truly we were quite friendly bother to think I was right there isn't any more interesting Allan thank you very much maybe that shot themselves in the foot just things on the line who is now director of the taste of Sudbury food and drink festival which I think is also had a grant from children a f from the most 300 just saying Hi Mark Kelly a very well thank you for joining us nice to see everything drink festival who would you snitch if what Sorry huge big c. Yeah I mean it's grown year on year since we took it on and we tracked about 7 and a half a 1000 people in separate town center for one day so it's a totally free event for everyone to attend So yeah it's a brilliant event it's doing really well so yeah we received just under $10000.00 pounds for the 2018 event from the National Lottery which made a massive difference made it made a huge difference and enable you to do that you hadn't done before we what we did which we introduced kind of fringe events to so we put on 6 workshops in different areas around the sub area that were completely free for people to attend and we also had a fringe 10 event so we had workshops going on all day I mean the whole event is free to attend anyway so we totally rely on sponsorship enough to tie saying from local businesses and any funding we can get but it's getting harder and harder to get funding and to get that funding from the National Lottery just unable to us to change just a fringe side of it and it just gave us a bit more freedom financially to not have to go out there looking for. A continuous amount small amounts of up to Tyson response. Just in great to talk so I'm glad it worked for you thank you very much David's been in touch with me on my Facebook page he still got his 1st ticket he at 25 years ago Steve played it from day one the most I won was 100 pounds however since they changed the Olds the number of balls in the price some switch to The Health Lottery sorry lot so I just can't afford any more films putting such how how overexcited was no lead been set on that 1st draw haven't played the national lottery for 10 years now my numbers still not come out when I see what we played this earlier which syphilis and how excitable no Redmond's was on Saturday night when we all sat round the telly waiting to see if own ticket came out. a quick pass by the media is that. You still play it too expensive and has your charity organization benefits you maybe. In such a do the postcode lottery now not sure why as the winner is always seem to be a. Good thanks. And I feel. Disgust that Georgiana wrote who by the way good friend Rick Wakeman the man behind the. Music you love election music is. Really 79 and they've used various you know. This great might be important to play that every time we play a. Happy happy. Good already today from 10 a game for Boxing Day for the family what have you got in mind that will get us all together yet and not end up in a lie or a raw just some nights this was mentioned in our house only a couple of days ago all good board game for Boxing Day you know what all I want to do my Christmas is to sit down in front of another thing and do nothing saluting like I don't want to interact with my relatives a just want to be on my own yeah that's a good plan yeah well with them why is it all right falling wind. Watch television that was my that was my family Christmas people talk about their Christmas traditions yet in our family we just sat we didn't talk no the royal family is a sad time passed when. The old man would occasionally wake up and tell me it was on the full back sleep. Late that you got right so I guess it was not a Christmas money although you should open this up and activity for Boxing Day for the whole family even if it includes just sitting around doing absolutely nothing the part of education instead of a new scheme to help recruit teachers with Suffolk schools leading the way to fill these positions could that be the future of teach or employment also it's got a little chilly those pipes Well they could freeze up in the loft and you really don't want that to happen so how to prevent Also the incidence of drinks being spiked when your out and about on the increase here in Suffolk the police here to advise us on what we can do to prevent that I've got a great idea by the way and how about this the Mark Murphy breakfast show drink cover a very good how about that very good how about that very good and all the programs got the budget so it could be for you whether question about the next 7 days will it get warm and at Woodbridge bake at David Wright on the mixtape it's a headline from 10 with back in the day wonderful all over the. One from 10 lessons here one this often with Carlos said Woods form if you tend skip a column said Woods now managing and playing for Woodbridge town he'll be on the site for the soft in this and evening weights coming up later this week with Carlos and Darrin Ambrose 14 minutes to 10 we're celebrating 25 years of the National Lottery choky see melding Good morning Tony personally I've never bought a single last retake and I never will simple math shows that the chances of a serious when or even of breaking even in the long term all ridiculously so why would I waste my money Casanova Yes that Casanova once approached Friedrich the great of Prussia with a proposal to start a state lottery the Emperor turned his proposal down on the grounds that it would be a tax on stupidity he was known as Friedrich The Great for good reason system he thank you very much it does benefit some good causes in Tracey's the co-founder of music in our bones morning Tracie morning thank you for joining us tell me about music in our bones. You know bent is a small local charity and way a passion I guess about the idea that everyone has a right to sing and singing makes a difference that makes it feel better. Brings us together in song it creates a sense of community. And that's I think why probably the clean up we got in the world through how much did you get we got over 6000 pounds 6700 I think and how he used it was sort of differences it meet. To we've been running a fortnightly grateful when they include lifting spirits in its library upstairs on the Monday nights and such has attracted about the sort of core group of about $45.00 women so there's normally 25 of us sat on a Monday. And people come for all sorts of reasons why people come. He's perhaps living with m.s. Or Parkinson's people with had a couple of women who have been. They've had cancer this year and they found that the singing has been part of what they felt as help them heal from the treatment they've been having you know it's been people come because they feel isolated or lonely or depressed or anxious and they're again you know people talk about things like. I've had very difficult times but the group's always been there for me I don't know singing calms me down I feel everything flowing I feel physically good as well so there's lots of physical as well as you know emotional benefits from just getting together with other people and singing it sounds as if you have a fabulous autumn and we hear this a lot from choirs groups organizations where music is involved you know deep people differ disabilities different ages I mean there was there was there was just something about to the can lift the spirits Yes no doubt that's why we got a name. Lift experience because just time and again people were saying it does what it says on the ticket living my mood it makes the sale different but what the lotteries allowed us to do is to develop a project alongside suffered Refugee Support and you know as part of the conversation of women in the group what you know you see on the television all of the time stories of people the having to leave was torn countries and places where you know that not safe and. People were saying you know we would love to meet people to actually find out what it's like you know learn from people too but we'd also primarily like to find out if singing would allow us to bridge the gap between us the differences between us the lack of a common language if you think about it yeah definitely I think music is definitely the universal language we all share and that's very much what we've found you know we teach. Call the response style women from different countries people who are from Afghanistan and who are Albanian causes and Kurdish and you know they're able to share their songs with us we're able to share our sons of them because you just by listening and repeating what you hear and all you know is an ancient and ancient way of being together so it's been a it's been really exciting way of making that connection well long may it continue really good stuff Tracy thank you very much for thank you sharing that today co-founder of music in our bones they received 6800 pounds from the National Lottery Awards for all in August last year let's get a look at the traffic in travel if you are out about this morning. From b.b.c. Radio Suffolk bright Gary's got the latest for us I Gary thank you Mark you know I'm looking at Felix I read a few calls about this by the Fox Perowne about race sadly very heavy there in the area still queuing on the a 12 soon after Cable Sabera going up towards the cup Hakim's change very busy coming towards who each and he needs which Shepard drive Now this is partly blogs around hall for drive because of a crash and I'm looking at delays as well on the a once 3 foreigners is partly blocked by Saracens head at the moment to a crash on that stretch and also still very heavy going into very significant on the rough road I'm Gary Scott for b.b.c. Radio Suffolk travel if you see something or can update me call 801412121. On d.a.p. Digital radio this is b.b.c. Radio. 25 years of the National Lottery my goodness a camembert all of the that the build up to and the machines going into the news agents and all the training that the new stations ads have and the day the draw came it was all very. We're excited over that 25 years some people have won big others have probably lost an awful lot of money but it is the chance the gamble of winning big that keeps people going back but over the years we've seen the price go up more bulls so sometimes it's difficult to get the big money and that's put an awful lot of people off who have gone on to other different last resort some of the local last resort we have here in Suffolk and for some of the smaller charities as well and been in touch to Yvonne I've got my dad's ticket from the 1st to last redraw on the 1st day of. Saturday the 19th 1998 full I did keep mine for a while and I thought probably of what else kept theirs that seems they probably did the Suffolk Wildlife Trust has benefited from the the last great Julian round since its chief executive is with me now Julian Yeah hi Mark thank you for joining us so how is the lottery helped you over the ace you know it is difficult to think of the world without a lottery aware that the heritage for it has been so transformative in enabling us to purchase amazing places people were store habitats do all sorts of learning activities with young people without also we couldn't have done and just work with communities such as our recent project in eps which network in nature work with parish councils across the county it has really touched all parts of suffered so it's made a difference that would spare haps have been difficult to have done if you'd have had to go off doing more traditional fundraising you shaking teams in the up it would have been impossible I mean it is difficult to. Overestimate how transformative as being say you know places like Fox before we sort of the suttas 1st environmental center we were that sort of. All on a wing and a press so to speak and enabled us to buy a faux perform enabled us to build a learning center recreated often found all these things would have been impossible we just wouldn't have been able to raise unnecessary money but one small is by instance offering the opportunity for a grant I think it's actually also encourage people to give because they know who thought that gift is being matched to or maybe even 3 times by the lottery so it's actually sort of unlocked I think a lot of giving and suffered that has made such a difference to the natural heritage of the county which is so key to the country's identity and and you are still looking for more support in the future is a continual partnership it is a continued partnership and that is the other wonderful thing about the Heritage Fund that this is not just a one off you know has the money go away it's actually been a long term relationship they are interested in what we're doing they're really interested in how we engage with young people and they want to see more of that and they want to I guess support and help us in that journey and so it has been I think such a rewarding 25 years we've learnt same lot from them and and and also check at the people who we really need to thank all the players because it's the players of the natural National Lottery have actually made all of this possible and really I think has enriched Suffolk and I think it's placed heritage at the heart of such books I don't know we've always known it's been the heart suffers identity but it's sort of enabled heritage to play a really important part I think in the economy and people's lives in a way that it wouldn't have been without the support of the Heritage Fund and the lottery Judy great to talk to you thank you very much for joining us from the Suffolk Wildlife Trust Fund a quick word with Rebecca Crerar who's the charity manager for Suffolk refugee supports Reback. Hi thanks for joining us this morning you've also benefited how come what happened we will be really fortunate we've had 12 years of funding from the National Lottery so quiet and unprecedented number of years of funding. Grant application. Me. Being the house obviously they have to prove there's a need and clearly there is an aid with refugees coming into Suffolk and it's specifically so we have done a lot of work over the last 12 years thanks to the lottery it's really kept us afloat it's provided about 60 percent of all our funding actually every year for the last 12 years so we've been really grateful for that you know helping people who really have nowhere else to and we had a chap just a couple of weeks ago who was begging on the streets because he couldn't get through on the telephone number which is the only other option for him seekers takes 2 hours to get through on the help line the national helpline and he had no money he not his through his own fault process a bureaucratic process that hadn't worked properly and we were able to step in and help him he had 2 young children and couldn't save them so he was forced to pick on the straight but luckily we managed to get him to test out our advice you know how about $600.00 people a year and they will asylum seekers refugees fled their country experience back home and with Lottery funding we've rarely been able to make a difference in their lives it's great it's really good to hear where the money is spent here in Suffolk in the difference that it's making Rebecca thank you very much Sally we're out of time today back in the morning. To. Fold to. A middle name for me. For. The trip to. Poland. Prinsloo. Since. Polluting the bread fish oil for. Chile. At 70 it looks Ok but it's chilly there it is a Tuesday November 19th James fatal shot through to one of. The sounds of. This b.b.c. Radio. Talk this Tuesday with the latest case Kelly thanks James good morning us Suffolk food bank has revealed it's helping 25 percent more people than this time last year hey the hills reach community project has launched its Christmas humper appeal saying there's been a huge rise into bonds because of universal credit and the cost of fuel project director is Henry Wilson won't see local family last week they had to handle last year's kind of children just saying it was like Christmas we were able to open the hamper there were things in there like Pringles it's just nice to have trace to know what a lot is so how would an aspirin to teach your life last why we do what we do a pub landlord in North Suffolk says it's only a matter of time before home start flooding in his village Chris Theobald held an impromptu public meeting in. Yesterday after last week's rain. Will cause problems once again not only for the pirates in Punchbowl but residents who were left stranded at sea for say I think everyone understands you know every local council has monetary problems and are on a budget and I understand as well that there are a lot of problems all over the county were flooded at least sorting and are can't expect to be sort overnight but it is a problem and we have had it for years and it does need sawing out and it does get worse every time Johnson and Jeremy Cooper in a set to face each other later in the 1st head to head debate of the election campaign they are longing council will go out live on i.t.v. This evening Meanwhile the Lib Dems have announced the spending plans for the n.h.s. And Social Care wanting to put a penny on income tax to raise 7000000000 pounds a yeah just as a spokesperson Dr Philip lady who's a former Conservative m.p. Says reversing brags that will help the n.h.s. We can see that there is a clear staffing crisis in the in n.h.s. And this is being exacerbated by the prospect of practice it in my own professional experience I meet many doctors over the years who are trained in the European Union and indeed nursing staff and I think if we proceed with breaks it the stuff we cross will get worse so by investing extra money by remaining within the European Union liberal Democrats who protect the national police originally trying to trace a pedestrian involved in a crash in Felixstowe it don't this morning the driver of an Audi thought a bird hit their wing their own Candler but the driver behind told him it was actually someone in dark.
