More on that after this song. Which is quite apt because that's still a French isn't it I still love you. Good afternoon. Apparently few young people learning languages now than they have for the last 18 years the government says it's absolutely determined the young people should take them up but many schools say language is a little bit too difficult. In Woodbridge where at least half of the students study a foreign language. Tell me you've been studying German heard from has it been since you've been here at school yeah I mean I did front for years and I think for another 4 years it's been a lot more enjoyable it's easier to get a grip or. Fellow students of turn around and said. Well I find as I thing. From a young age I wasn't learning it I didn't know bits of it and on previous holidays we spoke to people and then I saw a bit here and there and sort of enjoyed the language from the. Older siblings giving us and when it comes to learning a 2nd language. I mean. Maybe I wouldn't enjoy it as not having. It is easier and more interesting than other languages that when you go on holiday chairman. The Germans are more interested in you because you are confident when it comes to speaking their language Yeah I think so I think it's always quite funny speaking to them because I can speak some of the language doesn't mean. I'll say the odd but it's quite interesting speaking to them and I find it funny when I can speak a different language to encourage more students than to take up a 2nd language I think. And teach in a way where students will enjoy like is taught and how is it to hear. The words but it's not just we know. Means a different language we learn how to speak the language we learn the culture of it as well OK let's bring in some of your fellow students let's start with you learning French how much fun is in the classroom then when it comes to learning 2nd language I really enjoy learning French and I think it was really enjoyable eleven's very supportive really I don't learn a 2nd language I'm currently doing French but I'm comfortable where I'm at because I know most of French I used to speak French when I was there. And yeah like I said the lessons just very enjoyable it's quite easy like so will you continue to learn French through your school life yeah I would like to learn French I've always found it quite like good to me I think it hasn't been too difficult for me at times it has obviously been like difficult times but generally I quite enjoy the language. You enjoy about learning French I like the idea that if I were to go to France I could speak to have a people there not in English and it's really fun to learn French with my classmates because it's quite enjoyable. The way we learn is different we do like games and stuff you enjoy the French just the way it's taught and prime rate you repeat everything so many times and we're given the. So we. Spoke about before. Studying French I like there if I go to a different country I don't have to rely on other people to know the language I speak and I would have to. Talk to people about things. Like. They progress through. I think he just tell them that it's fun because it teaches. Make it fun and games and he can. Say something like. Things like that make it more enjoyable I find that things are. About studying a foreign language. Learn a language that you. Spanish is spoken lots of countries across the world I learned German at school. Germany wants and I've used it once all I can say is explain how Greek it which is. And I love this is well vote. Comes in very handy. That is where is the. With the travel. Market Road. Now that the. Police would. Say. If you see something. $1.00 to $1.00 to $1.00. Up. A. Little bit of a crush. A. Bit of a crush on everyone have a listen to what. If a new production from Eclipse which is being co-produced with Bristol Old Vic and the whole Truck Theatre the play set against the backdrop of one of the most pivotal. Of the black British civil rights movement the 1963 Bristol bus boycott the show opens at the new wall the theater in Ipswich today and earlier I spoke to the show's director Dawn Walton eclipses of. Black touring company in that we forefront the black experience of black British experience as what we focus on but we make mainstream theatre we tour our work to regional theaters were based in Sheffield you can hear a lantern I landed a moved up north and made a beautiful home in the north and started a company up there well let's talk about the show that it's called The Princess and the Hustler tell us a little bit about the story this is a body of work so about 3 years ago I launch something called Revolution mix and revolution mix was. When I get a little bit frustrated I decide to do something about things that actually it was about telling stories that haven't been told before there's a load of British stories that people just don't know nothing about and they're really part of the fabric of our what makes us British today and my thesis is that all of those stories are black that's my theory that sticking with it and of course you go through these stories and you start to mine those stories and you find the most incredible stories really beautiful stories so I gathered 15 writers but writers from across the county all from outside London and we're going to go out because a lot of it is a bit of London centric isn't it with. Even as a London I do love London I think you've had your fair share there's an awful lot of people outside London who just don't get the opportunity and this body of work is called Revolution mix and we make theatre we make film and we make radio This one's a story set in Bristol in 163 a very special year none of your business why. But why. Do you know it's the referee they set it on the radio they made me say it now they're. Best year ever but. It's a story that was set in Bristol and really strangely actually even though we're not people that we would talk about the winter Russia age and we're talking about that when dress generation who were literally people like my mom and dad who were born who were you know called and asked to come to this country to do particular jobs in some places the Muslims do their jobs and Bristol had a kind of ball Bristol only bus company had a kind of bar on driving buses being a bus conductor actually wouldn't allow anybody of color to do that it was very open color bar and it became this huge story when some still stole eons and some of that when Josh H. Took on that story and started protested inspired by what was happening America actually started a bus boycott that very few people know about but when you hear about it your heart fails with the be of such a simple actor's walk to work boycott the buses that's one end of it 2nd and Yvette tell me we've been taught too much for a 2nd of it is is a really gorgeous story of princess Princess is 10 years old she lives in Presto and she has a theory and how one dream is to win the beauty pageant West and Superman. And it's girls are said in the play we see this fantasy of her as we see practicing her pageant walks and practice they had done OK and their self ready for this pageantry and she's really into it's a real hobby of her of course everybody is in that pageant look nothing like her and the stories actually as she discovers that this world is perhaps not as close to her as she would think would have thought I was going to say as a 10 year old girl is she quite aware of the printed all is not really and it's a sort of a slight breaking of the innocence of that because you just think that everything is possible attend as you should and actually slowly these 2 worlds collide this beauty pageant dream and. The protests the 2 things collide and we discover what happens at the end now it's funny it's beautiful it's great music in it. The actors are incredible we've been having the best time and then there's a little bonus of everywhere we go we have this community cool receive play this really key part in the play Yeah tell us about that tell us about events people to get involved when your local band from which we can suffer Yeah we have a really beautiful relationship with which we've been coming here for years we've had place like sauce here we've had since we've been sees day and we've. Raised in the sun quite famously about 3 years ago we brought a really beautiful production of raisins on hand there's a lot of people just completely loved it this is the 1st time we've had a chance to come back since then so eclipse loves our audiences and some of our stories are inspired by our audiences certainly princess is one of those and now we're taking that relationship one step further and say we love you so much you want to be part of this come and participate in the show and how do they do that well they just contact us theatre then contact I'll come in the website and fill in the page or they could just email engagement at Eclipse theatre. And Emmy Award wonderful and I will come on stage people and villages on that like it like a wonderful story it's called The Princess and the Hustler it's already opened this afternoon at the new will say there's another performance tonight and it runs all the way through until Saturday Don I wish you the best of luck with it and hope to see you again some time thanks ever so much my thanks to Dawn Walton as we said that show runs to the 2nd of March and listening to Lesley dolphin program tomorrow and Friday for a chance to win tickets to see the Princess and the wolf the theater and if you will going along tomorrow look at. I'm a on the stage as one of the protesters that they wrote me into it. The radius on. If you can see inside you a is so there's one little head there and then he's kind of to me is going to look at me who would want me to do you know so. Anyway. With the sports throughout the. B.B.C. Radio. $25.00 to $4.00 Still to come be full 5 we're going to be having a laugh and a giggle and finding the comedy the comedy club at Bury St Edmunds week share has an evening on the 22nd of March going to love it or not to come and you may have seen the posters all the trials for the film called fighting with my family it was my son's 40th birthday last general like that that place and I got to see this everyone's talking about it it's a movie based on the lives of the night wrestling family who from just up the road didn't know rage I would be hearing from one of the family. Who is now a giggle now right you must. Count up comedy is more popular than ever at the moment isn't it with new comedy clubs sprouting up all over the place and here in Suffolk more and more people starting comedy nights to work each muscle just a little bit because the Hudson from Bury St Edmunds is the founder of the comedy market a comedy club based in the Hunter's Bar and Bury St Edmunds they have the next evening of comedy on Friday the 22nd of March and I spoke to Kirstie Alley and she told me about the night and how if you're a budding comic you could get involved I run comedy market which ones a few times a year I'm DO NOT a few less of them give more myself start around 6 years ago I we are based in the hunt club embarrassing Edmonds literally the best Bond venue in Barrie we're really lucky to be there I have to say that otherwise it was a bit. We got the best audiences in and when I say the best audience I literally mean the best. I've tried to kiss them all obviously that stopped when I was driving a lot of came in and all that stuff but they all be a full pay full and I really are we get the best tax base approach not we have really good acts on it when it went back almost 20 seconds and I've got rubble and Noble. And he's just a fantastic comedian so excited to have him come and join us a comedy market going on 545 X. Ray it's a great thing to do you know it's my job it just makes the comics work look so much better so it's a beautiful thing I'm very lucky to be there love in it yes I do from very originally I am I was born then and bred to move to why I came back because it's a brilliant place to be a comedy exploded in the last 10 years it really is the new rock N roll certainly with comedians who make the big time like you Michael McIntyre has and you Kevin Bridges filling out stadium C.S.I. Mazing comics but do you think when you're in a venue of that size it kind of takes away the intimacy I think it can do but someone at that kind of skill level can really bring the audience in and can really make them feel like they're just talking to them one of the you know one to one level and that's a real skill right there it's a really amazing they are incredible comics you know all those at that level. And fancies themselves as a little bit of a stand up comedian can anybody turn up to have open mikes I don't I say yes I'm signed doing that now as I say is a bit of a pro not where we have really kind of high end acts and all of that stuff but do you feel like it's a really great club to have that I have had comics come in. Which is really exciting because I think it's really safe environment somewhat It's quick lab for everyone you know why it's quite a club where yeah 80 year olds could calm and the younger people could come and everyone's welcome it's got no wages just a warm friendly club and I want to try that audience X. I like you know what I mean in Korea in that and yeah so there's I think there's always an opportunity for a bit of an open mike sport definitely you know and yeah if you want to contact me I'm available to contact you on Facebook and all of those lovely stuff yeah that is the comedy community in Suffolk quite. Close because I know last year I had on the show Louie from the classic comedy club for making it by steps which I started back with last year and he's going from strength to strength that will seem so that everybody get glass eye lawfully man who won the debate new clubs in Ipswich they are really friendly really supportive of my comments a they bought me down to their club a few times they're just really nice guys and I think yeah like you guys are lovely some lovely lovely clubs in Cambridge as well which you know I think you kind of go up and you walk up and everyone knows how it is so you really support for each other and it's really nice and yeah I've not met anyone really go not sure about particularly mate so it's a lawful a you know of really nice fellas So tell us again what you know comedy when you next evening 22nd of March we are back and tell you when you we are at the. Club a bar one fan you were in the main a whole world that many of us want to get a case out for comedy let me tell ya so you're going to have a very secret Yeah you can do do you go Facebook and you can hit that book now but you can also have a look at tickets for was last comedy market and then get tickets that 8 pounds which cause. The drinks at the venue and it also jam pizzas on the not as well paid and they've got a new coffee machine. I know what I want. To know what stand up comedy I've done a little bit of it me Sal there are the hardest things in the world to do here at B.B.C. Radio suffer this is why and through you Wednesday afternoon looking after things after the rest of the week for the Falls my stuff is having a nice week off this week and can I just say thank you to everybody who's messaged me over the last week I revealed a couple of weeks ago my weekend show that I got for comic relief this year I am doing I am dancing with my belly out I'm doing some traditional belly dancing in full traditional costume to raise money for Comic Relief and we had doing this feat . At the out shopping said to Bury St Edmunds on March the 15th so we should be that $1230.00 lunch time inside the shopping center May and a whole gaggle as I would for a collective noun of belly dances. Probably not I mean a whole lot of other people doing it it would be a quite a spectacle I could tell you if you would like to give a little bit of money to Comic Relief I know lots of you already have that would be very very very grateful it can be a pound it can be 50 page can be whatever you can afford just search for comic relief on the website and you will see its annual and then you'll be able to donate and I'd love to see you on the day as well. As a license it takes a great day celebrate to be making friends I have a get the one thing to say to you Happy Saturday. The day is on Friday the 21st of June let us know what you are planning to do e-mail suffered a B.B.C. Cultural U.K. Visit suffered a joke OTOH you can keep promises to be bigger and better than before. The day on B.B.C. Radio Suffolk now I've been loving this nice weather over the last few days it's been an absolute joy to get the washing on the washing line outside instead of having to use my rotary mechanical environmentally friendly recyclable spinning clothes era plays Julie right don't ask me to say that again. I'd love to hear it for a 2nd OK I was. Really I don't have to use my rotary mechanical environmentally friendly recyclables but in close era. Very good I was out with this little thing well not with. Yeah but you know if there is yeah you know but yeah I mean I was making the most of this beautiful weather which is about to come to an end so yeah definitely the last of the really decent drying days for a while although I think on Friday it be largely dry but not quite so much in the way of unbroken sunshine so tonight largely dry and clear with patchy mist and folk forming although there's still some uncertainty as to how widespread this may be a frost is likely in places with temperatures ranging from 0 to 4 Celsius and very light winds between the southwest and the Northwest Thursday what a bright and dry start to the day for much of us although I do think there will be some areas of folk around which may be slow to clear and can also thicken from the west through the morning resulting in a cooler and cloudy a day than of late with some outbreaks of rain and we can't without some heavy and sundry downpours during the afternoon although I don't think the rain will be for everyone again we're not quite sure how widespread that rain is going to bay and then temperatures well on Thursday lower than recent days but still above average ranging from about 10 to 12 Celsius Friday mainly drawing cloudy day I would call some sunshine and brightness Saturday a windy day with early rain clearing and then another area of rain pushing in from the west later and then Sunday or dry stop it rain isn't expected to push in from the south and it will remain windy now the issue which is forecast to point to new fall and for tonight the winds variable cyclonic 3 or 4 becoming southwest of the 5 or 6 later in the south visibility moderate will pull weather many fair and sea state smooth all slight and the not next high tide at Lowestoft 4 31 in the morning at 2.2 meters and then 1711 tomorrow evening at 2. One meters and it feed extends 738 the saving at 3.2 metres and 607 in the morning at 3.2 metres and I should forecast we shouldn't grumble it's just getting back to normal for the Tommy really isn't it yet if you remember this time last year well on the 28th Some of us were waking up to every 20 centimeters of snow and yet the 28th of February last year temperatures right across the county didn't get above freezing base from the east or the I on the telly tonight I am I am I'm hoping I'm having also as a Technical difficulties tonight so I'm really hoping it's a bit it's me the welcome. Tonight oh it's that fiery ones it's all black with sort of. The flair you voice the flowery Well no I don't mean rotary mechanically environmentally friendly recyclable spinning clothes are a couple of weeks but. A faith in the faith. Based on B.B.C. Radio something. I mention the fact I'm doing a belly dance for comic relief in a couple of weeks time I wasn't quite sure what the collective term for a group of belly dancers was thank you to Walter in Oldring him who has texted and says Wayne it is a ripple of belly dances thank you for that now you might have seen the posters of the trailers but today's the day the film fighting with my family goes on generally in cinemas my son called this lost weight it stars Dwayne The Rock Johnson and it's based on the lives of the night wrestling family from Norwich as they try to make it in the USA don't have page is now a huge W W W E stuff and when our reporter a butler caught up with her from her home in America she told him just how proud she is of her family oh yeah the Devaney there may be a wonderful I know I'm very proud again being from Mars but they are from my from my family like I do I love to spend time with them like I go I didn't get to go to the north premiere which. It disappoints me that we got to spend in London together yesterday which was really wonderful So yeah there's lots of cameos in the film as well not really less than the Zac who's got a great long we can't repeat on daytime right you know I don't want to say well let's talk about Royce perhaps the the want to doesn't get the law in law America wants him as well he doesn't really sequence of him in a match as well yeah so yeah Roy is. Close is growing up we have 5 siblings all together my brother Aaron and my sister actually had a cameo in the movie too she was if you it was you see it she was the midwife So but yeah Roy doesn't get talked about a lot in the movie which I'm sad about but you know what if we do a sequel we all have a very interesting story well that was a question is going to psych is from what I know now in the family as well as I do they're saying there's sort of the multi picture deals out there there's so many what a prequel just about your dad that would work oh my gosh I tell I tell people my family needs a reality show hearing that I would be able to be part of it because obviously I live in America now but like I feel like Dad and Mum and everyone is just so entertaining all the time people love it and you touched on it in the film you know the Norwich bit which obviously Norris shot at the screen in the film. You know you've had it ever since you introduce our member when you when you when the time we spoke to the die off the very 1st night I saw it from Norwich England I mean. Spike 20 the ring announcer to tell I'm sure you how every single time I and the commentators to I'm like like porridge remember that just ignore the double year just ignore it and just one more question about far it's coming that carrot this is I think this you know dad is buzzing for this because he's been he's trying to push on a carrot that's exciting field so you know how much Yeah I was so excited and I'm going to attend it you know so I'll be there and there's just some big stars that are going to be there and obviously you have grown whole that's involved too and I'm just I'm very excited for my dad is like about time you know because the last picture they had was fight. Back in 2001 I think I was there and it was over 2000 people there and this one is just going to be his biggest one Yeah and I'm just so happy for his success that's page night talking to Rob Butler about wrestling and the new film of fighting with my family as I mention my little boy's 40th birthday last waited like that so he went with Mike to see it he said it was brilliant and that is one of the films that will be getting reviewed this Saturday morning on my weekend show between 9 and 12 we take a look at the new releases with our movie expert Mark say that's one of the films will be taking a look at so find out if he thinks it set a good all night on Saturday morning right on the way up to 5 then it is suffix day in detail all the news that matters to you including Coming up we have some good news after decades of debate it seems the County Council is finally finally ready to take the plunge on the northern bypass for which we do need it but with the towns getting bigger and bigger and bigger more and more people living in more and more cars I'd like to hear from a counselor Matthew Hicks on this very subject also west of a council going to make $7000000.00 pounds available to develop business senses in have a girl and Bury St Edmunds we should bring you more on that story as well plus lots more all the news that matters to you on the way. Bury St Edmunds Lowestoft for a on F.M. Preview and on your small screen. This is B.B.C. Radio stuff. Wednesday afternoon 27th of February it is 5 o'clock let's get the latest B.B.C. News now with clay of clear with clear as a ringtone Thanks Wayne Good afternoon the leader of Suffolk County Council has told this programme they want to be ready to go to government with a business case for northern relief right for Ipswich. By the autumn the authority has announced it's to hold a public consultation in the summer it wants to find out how supportive people are of the plans but council leader Matthew Hicks says at the moment the focus is purely on preparing the case at this stage with purely trying to prepare the street out of business case so that document is ready laying out all the options that we are really clear and government can be clear residents can be clear at the moment there's been lots of discussions about how will it unfold what will happen and by having a street out of a business case that is clarity to.
