Tweet of the week it's pretty self-explanatory you know way too early to know where you're going to their wake. So the tweet of the Week is from a sports person and if you don't know what Twitter is just allow me to explain it's a form of social media where people can go on and say exactly what they want to say pretty much in the in the sort of cyber space of that is the universe in which we live in the So it's one way of sort of staying in touch if you like with celebrities sportspeople anyone you really want to who signed up to this this phenomena. Is subjects that we're looking at tonight. He's tweeted this 3 would say it's pretty simple we're looking for the missing word and it's a good blank session so what is the missing word good something good blank session what is the word was missing there good blank session if you think you know 100. 88 his name to get in touch with B.B.C. Radio Stoke tonight you can text as well I want trouble free start your message with the word stuck Gary Rao it away after. Crazy how you do. Thursday I was it gone weather's been cracking wasn't it today lovely and warm jumper ditched the don't put the coat very early on today sunshine still just glowing around us here in Hanley tonight B.B.C. Radio Stoke sport might sound Aussie sport at 6 on the way still to come in from the port where manager Neil Aspinall music from the arithmetics bit of Mika Lenny Kravitz as well all on the way over the next 45 minutes here on sport at 6 we're also looking for your guesses to this tonight. We're in Sandra's got in touch already with a guess we're looking at sorry. Tweeted this this week good blank session so what is that went missing word what is the blank good blank session if you think you know you can let those know as well and we'll see if you're right 100 wants you want to 88 so you can text one trouble 3 Start your message with the word stuck sound Ramirez gone for look good look session No not right now fright Sandra thank you for getting in touch though this evening on the tax you can also get in touch Social Media at B.B.C. Radio Stoke if you are on Twitter like some are far conceded 3 goals for the 2nd time in the space of a week as they lost 3 to Nottingham Forest last night manager Gary told B.B.C. Radio Star afterwards that it was the same old story of making basic defensive errors dropped on civilian forest players need knows nothing about it and. A guest afflicted into their net so in a moment it's tough to take and actually quite trust to do something about moments like that really. And then about playing well would say as we we then showed a little bit of luck courage and for for the last 1520 minutes and a half just felt we stopped trying to possible then we allowed forest to dictate a little bit so it was what they wanted to do with many opportunities. The 2nd goal against a really poor goal we decided to go for the Had we leave our players to do missionary say or in all fairness to Mrs 1st and I fought Sam's showed them some really good moments but we made a poor decision and we allowed them to get in is a good finish from this don't all is career numbers again it's an appalling goal of course we come in with an option to charge station about much like Saturday with and concede another poor gulps I am responsible for. It's frustration and it's for strange We've got good players out there making poor decisions. Then the game changes you have a game completely changes we cry and if a good opportunity which I could finish by Bennett and you say the last 25 minutes is a little bit like it is completely different it's a completely different performance when Mike incredibly tough a forest Well I mean when it's in the data we score the 2nd one we hit the ball we miss an open goal really 6 yards out I feel sorry for Saddam but when you watch it back he gets into a great position is a wonderful ball in from some ends and he has to school you know I'm not in a portion blind but he has to go so again we could get some al of a game where we've given ourselves a lot to do in the game and out of a not was a disappointed rate and we should consult about the courage we showed a console about the attitude was fantastic but I can also talk about the fact that we shouldn't have to do that because we shouldn't be free no down in the 1st place well that was scary not at the City Ground he faced the media again this afternoon ahead of Saturday's game B.B.C. Radio start went out to sea and he says some of the youngsters who played last night have given him something to think about ahead of this weekend's match you know all about Tom Edwards you know what some kind of a he's been a pretty consistent performer whatever is plied arrange some great characteristics at times are really really wants to defend really wants to be aggressive in the way he plays with his gun forward or gun but defensively the plays of him and he showed as well he can handle the other side of it he he played in preseason and when Jim is a left back and it was probably a slightly more uncomfortable experience than the left wing but last night but we know we can handle Gary did did quite well for 1st start into some some again some good bits was not made mistakes of a senior prize have not made in games and if he shows he's really comfortable on the ball there's very comfortable on the ball and that's why we if we want to really kind of push him and push you. Those defensive side of the game that when you 6 foot 5 sometimes the challenges you know to be good into areas defensively and against quicker strikers. Pretty well that showed Lockhart's as the game went on and of course Tyra's comes on we know it's always about we put in wider because we just fell about point you don't stretch the game and. Cross into the box we had a couple of opportunities where he did it hard to cross me a little bit better but again you know showed some good qualities. You know from that point of view there were some positives as last you have 3 of them out the pitch together. And of course what you hope is separated from from the result which of course we all know. I was disappointed in and once again we should be saying that we would go smell the game where does he go from here where does the start manage to turn to what does he do defensively for the game room. Look to know your thoughts well NOT 100 wants he won't 8080 is the number Sandra Mia Julia Bentley wrong with the guesses for the weird you know wake 3 to the week where you know there were. I also value a good guess this valiant gene but a win in Chelton Well then you got it right so. Tweeted this good blank session in the blank where is what we're looking for it's not good blank session it isn't satisfactory Georgia mentally nor is it looks under me or isn't training good training session but on the right sort of lines there valiant gene on the tax on trouble 3 Start your message with the word stuck Adrian chance and you have got it right well don't think about it I know it's pretty obvious he's a runner but think a little bit more about that about running and that might give you a bit more of a clue to this this missing word under wants you want $88.00 if you think you know you can also text and Tweet at B.B.C. Radio Stoke. The B.B.C. Radio Stoke travel. It is always nice to hear from you on sport at 6 ports here with the latest on the road school How's it looking it's not great for the moment on a 503 road southbound least partially blocked with slow traffic due to an accident or a tap and a true road for the bus for a roundabout It's very heavy indeed all the way back to Long Bridge Hades middle port Golden Hill Reginald Mitchell way looking very heavy all around there at the moment Hamley as well Victoria Road still looking very busy where intern road while very heavy the moment in Stafford which still got the problem on going on the 830 for the Litchfield road the junction of Newport Rhode Island accident that happened well over an hour ago but they were in the process of clearing it up but it's already very heavy around that route just on the edge of a staffer town center military all road it's queuing back to the retail park and also knock on effect on western road as well which is certainly looking very heavy . Kring we've got the normal queuing traffic at the moment on crew Green Road before the road works University way for the crew green roundabout and it's slowing traffic very along Newcastle road around me Hanford interchange the A 500 day road so not a good picture on the roads the trains are looking fine at the moment just looking at the boards and no report to delete all problems but if you do see a problem call us 80121880 thank you very much Paul will be back in about 20 in the next 20 minutes or so and I will keep you moving on the road we got a couple of texts read out for you from start fans Johnny and cross seat and also Rob from Tunstall here what they're saying about their team in just a moment. From on the Tx well done you join agent in Chelton has got the answer right trouble 3 start a mess of the worst already from Brownlee's enjoying Shomer very good at the vile thank you very much Eddie Eddie was as a big help today for me as at the Vale today went to see Neil Aspinall who you can hear from on tonight's show actually in the next 10 minutes or so and very low in fuel the was in the car and he was like my own personal escort towards the service towards the fuel station the petrol station just in case I broke down and Eddie thank you very much for that it was like my own little personal escort but thank you in one key for getting in touch and enjoying the show as well as he in Brownlee's tonight these are a couple texts that I've had from some state friends from Rob in stall he says assuming Gary Rao it goes back to a 3 moment field who could you actually drop out of a phobia. And in he says What do you think the flight you know your views on that Rob Johnny from Cross ether says having the likes of Charlie Adam back in the team really is scraping the barrel I thought we were moving on with the not words the main problem is we haven't got a decent back for their a shambles a total new back for in January please says Johnny from Cross Heath Annie Lennox Do you agree with Johnny. YOU THANK. You. And meatloaf between now and 7 o'clock. Tonight. We're going to go any further than the message that all of the message. Nice to hear from you Andy as well on social media. Scraping the barrel with Adam aren't we Charlie showed more Britain Matta last night and Co He has to start on Saturday so disagreeing with the text that we had on saying what Charlie Adam scribed about he thinks now he's got to start bygones be bygones and all that says Andy on social media enjoying the music says choose tonight for the arithmetics thorn in my side looking for your guess is this evening to tweet of the week. It's not corn it's not corn although you know that when you say that when you put that in does it be to make me feel a little bit hungry No it's not that answer we're looking for this it's a he is tweeted this week good blank session we want to know what missing word is what the blank is good blank session just a guess it's all just a bit of fun keep it nice and clean you know you do normally want trouble 3 start us through the word stuff but no so wanted to have you just do a little filthy minded at times we've had hot pants and then leggings and tights and longer and all that sort of thing in the past before. And I'm not quite sure. Gives you that much scope to go down that sort of 50 Shades of route this evening on sport at 6 it is half past 6 going to hear from Neil Aspinall shortly Charlie Adam on the way 1st rob from tonsil got back in touch and I mentioned Rob's 1st text was he says assuming Gary goes back to a 3 man midfield who could you actually drop out of the Barry nobody on insta I asked rebel What would you do says Well I would actually drop Alan and go with Barry and in Speak up behind Thanks for getting back into it Rob nice to hear from you tonight I wondered wants you want 8080 is the number Charlie Adams hoping that he's done enough to keep his place in the stock team for Saturday's game rather me play the full 90 minutes in last night's defeat at Nottingham Forest he told B.B.C. Radio Star it was great to be back in the starting 11 place there was a bit as Club love being here. I've always had the great support every man ever listen we all have tough times and you know a new manager comes in he wants to try something different out of spec now I've kept walking hard and if you ask I'm not a you know I'm never really never solved I've never you know throw toys a canard but probably even harder at an extra to sure I'm ready and hope for an opportunity. And. Put myself faulted on the 23 states to try and help the young kids as well to to just to get game time and I think the game in the last 3 of the 23 games has probably been a reward for the plane and. Getting fitness and joy in them winning games as well so listen it's good to be part of and you just got to try and keep keep playing away in the snipper wants to play. Manager picks a team picture squad in the middle from there I'm ready to play if need be if not the manager selected a team. Can win games well they are complementary about your I mean he has said you are the man that has been put in a lot of extra chime to get yourself really show up and ready Yeah you have to because you know it's you never know when you're called upon Listen I had a chat woman a preseason and I knew my situation what it would be and but I felt it was right for me to state a club and try and force my way in as they stick you know told was this October no September September and to get an opportunist outsold this and you can only keep in Preston in training. And once again opportunity. But a wall for their hard work and how they've been playing in the 20 three's well so it's good for them and and it's just a pity that you know we don't win the game because we deserved probably to win the game in the end because it is important now that we start to put wins together isn't it absolutely absolutely we need someone games we need to go on a run for 56 ones you know to climb this table and try and achieve what we want. Pre-season and that's to get promoted. And the way they were for not we want to get promoted want to get back in from league transforms we need to look at ourselves and look and hose and what's gone wrong and we have to address one and starts are then the telling them away good place to go one and Schalke origin and get a win and build on Charlie Adam seems to have the bit between the teeth and the determination to get back in the side and knows that you're not going to get everything your own way in life generally not just as a professional footballer and he's out to put his barrow down and get his opportunity again and that's what he's done and on social media says he should be in the starting 11 at the weekend others disagree with that Jeff little kids grow Jeff you text in you normally normally Friday nights we hear from you on praising grumble we haven't heard from you for a while I hope you going to call in tomorrow night in fact but you call right now a 100 wants you want 88 if you want to get on praising Rubel tomorrow night Jeff says worst offense in the Premier League the only sign Williams on line says it all for me we should have tried to keep Zuma all we keep on hearing is excuses let's have action as Jeff in kids Grove tonight and Steve from Milton says I'd like to praise Kevin Phillips because I believe he's coaching side of Barry and so far this season has been a different player what I'd like to know is who is coaching the defense is it Peter Kay because there are a joke says Steve in Milton on the text this evening we've had a call in as well to B.B.C. Radio Stoke tonight it's some traffic news if you're out and. Then there's something you know it's particular around the A $501.00 lane is closed on the $500.00 southbound between walk stance and a true area that's Jew to a 3 vehicle collision this is the A 500 southbound between Will Stanton in a true area 3 vehicle collision there is already heavy congestion on the approach so if you are around then you wondering why you stuck in it that is the reason and . About to head out maybe you want to replant your journey this evening but closed on the 500 South. Pole in the next 5 minutes. The. Little. Guy. Making you can guess. This is a man who knows his running. This week good blank said we want to know what the missing were. Wrong guesses we had satisfactory and a lot from George and Bernstein sander in. Making New Castle go interval. Someone who knows that they're running fitness programs good interval session it's not well that is a good guess. Jim from my agent in total but think along those lines certainly if you want to have a go that's not good blank session what is the missing word think along the sort of the the interval training the the venue should I say where we could be 100 want to want to 8080. 8 want trouble 3 Start your message with the word star on the road about that one line closure on the A 500 southbound between. As well in the next couple of minutes for you the manager says he's seeing signs of progress but needs more consistency from the team the Via looking for 3 wins in a row for the 1st time. In nearly a year has been told B.B.C. Radio Stoke his team needs time to develop if you're going to solve I have one game where you play well another game you play badly or a couple games you do well you can't then go from one extreme the other you can't see there were great when we were absolutely rubbish the next we've got a good squad then we'll go rubbish squad you know manager managers should you know be a manager one is a Subi sucked it it's got to be over a longer period I think and. And then we can assess if we're making progress but it does it does take time and will take time put it up being encouraged obviously by the last few games where we've shown you know that we can you know be a good side and in this way when you've got key plays in your team like Scott Brown a big goal and for him Leon like that money early Cade central midfield and Tom pipe up front that spine of your team if they can be as consistent as possible that gives you a fighting chance doesn't it I think. It's the same players you hope that they're going to do well and the same players that. You know you. Obviously for a reason. They're experienced players with spec them to come and do a job but you don't know how not everyone starts the same and to be fair the other leg in pre-season didn't do self justice but in the games he's been a different player altogether and he's you know looking the player that we that we wanted when we brought him in I think with. Browning ease I think when you watch him from assailants as a manager you want to be able to I don't mean relax in terms of you know every likes watching the games but but with a goalkeeper you want to feel all these he gives confidence which to say to the side which he does mean is you know money's not very good. It. Really should do a lot but only is doing put awfully keeps you know if you keep striving you have it but there you know that he might have off decent game now and again. But now of I think. The fact that. We've played But always been this 8 and we've missed him when he's been out means that he's adapted well to to this level of football and and I think he can get better I think he's got a lot of good attributes and you know is the season you know gets gets more and sees nothing he's only going to get but it's been the B.B.C. Give you the right to reply. No comment. They've been talking about it for a few weeks now the veil saying that the dresser in the team spirit is an exceptionally good and it does feel like that when you go down a fair point you do go to get that sense that everybody just sort of pull in the same direction and just to get on in the manager they're looking for a 3rd win in a row this weekend as they take on Exeter. To be seen windiest on travel. A game actually that is live on B.B.C. Radio start this weekend and you'll be able to hear it on sports on Saturday from 2 o'clock told you about that problem on the A 500 pause here with more details of what's the latest Yes it's still long going in Frank we've got 2 accidents still ongoing causing major traffic congestion in a 500 D. Got to the front so I certainly would have been these clowns are going to be just going to be flocking every day at me for this is everywhere I've been going that you people are talking about or can't wait to watch the Ryder Cup. Just shows you how special is that 60000 people roughly a day watching it's sold out in the atmosphere has been great for the last couple of days here and we've seen all the wacky outfits as well we've seen European fans dressed with their Union Jack trousers we've seen French fans with the Green Berets with golf balls on them we've seen some the American fans as one fact at one point what grounds the course a source of those French fans having a bit of a chance off with the American fans so certainly everybody's really up for this game Poulter let's let's talk a little bit about him Paul too shall we because I think he appears in my eyes is the Ryder Cup Disney for the European European team tell us a little bit more about him Jamie. Well he's the man he really just lives for the Ryder Cup in many ways his career has been defined by that he likes to get the crowd going he's work really hard on these games to get back into form and to Ernie's way on to the team and be one of those players that you know hopefully he's going to take Euro per se winning the trophy back from the United States and certainly when he holds a great part he'll be giving it a big face pump and screaming Come on and trying to engage the crowd and one of the sort I suppose the big talking points here has been the huge grandstand which is where they're going to tee off for the 1st hole it's right behind it holds nearly 7000 people in fact it's got all these thousands of blue seats and he sort of stretches along where the 18th hole is the the grief the 18th hole it almost looks like a football stand it is that big post and all the players have been to have a local walk to the top of it just to get a sense of how vast it is and potentially you know how much noise we could see from then certainly he's hoping Ian Poulter that that is the place that we're going to hear a lot of noise and all of the cheering for the European team it's going to be an amazing atmosphere a special noise come Friday we're going to hear obviously some fun and sing songs that's what it's all about it's about bringing the noise is about bringing the passion Paris are going to do it you know very very great venue for us to have it we can't wait to go you know what's going to happen to me from that 1st shot tomorrow so I'm going to shout and get in the hole from now another a lot of places of band that sort of shouting now haven't they who are the favorites to win this do do thing where was where is the sort of the money going well I suppose the Americans is defending champions of the slight favorite you look at the you know that scene they've got when you look at the European team is arguably the 2 greatest teams assembled isn't it for this Ryder Cup competition which we've talked about before we know the great memories and the great drama over the years and certainly you know the Americans the slight favorites but you have to say you know most of the European players know this course really well they play every year for the French Open so that's some advantage but you know it's a tough but fair course you don't have to hit the fairways you want to avoid you know the tricky roughs that. Is there but we've got the world's best players here so we're hoping to see some great golf and obviously Tiger Woods I mentioned there he's one of those he's going to be playing in the 4 walls tomorrow morning here he's playing with patches redo I suppose he's nickname sometimes caps in America he's like the equivalent of impulsive for the Americans and certainly looking forward to seeing woods and Patrick Reed action 27th of September today this morning I stripped off get that image out you had Jamie I mean just might just just my jumper and my CO It was it was incredibly warm today here in the Potteries What's the weather forecast like for this in Paris. Well it's certainly been very warm here as well the last couple of days is a slight chill in the air because it is all some but certainly very warm out in about you walking around the course the for the forecast is very good for the next 3 days so I think anybody who's looking up to be here is going to be walking around in T. Shirts and polo shirts and to be enjoying the weather and hopefully some fantastic goal hopefully So Jamie good to talk to you enjoy it Jamie Broughton at the Ryder Cup for B.B.C. Radio Stoke we're going to shine a spotlight as well in just a 2nd on kids through to the 3rd qualifying round of the F.A. Cup and doing pretty well Ryan Austin the manager of kids will hear from him on the show shortly Simmo fire has tweeted this we tweeted of the week stories of the week . What has he tweeted that is the question blank session Kevin Leaks says is the missing word. No it's not. Getting a little closer getting closer it's not a good road session you're on the right lines. And a name Texas says Is it work out isn't. This yes it is Ricky A.J. Right on the mic in Newcastle's back with a no the but the technical running terminology is not but it might be in the running world speed good speed session no it's not but keep thinking you're getting . 6 or 188 is the number to get into. Trouble for. Lenny Kravitz now 5 more days to write a few extra today one of the. P.C. Radio. Plan. a song for Lenny Kravitz 5 more days to so my kids get a flat seeker into the F.A. Cup 3rd qualifying round following an excellent win mostly they face another tough challenge await Workington in the next round I spoke to manager Ron Alston who told me how happy he is with how his team is performing at the moment to be honest obviously we built a new group of players during the summer and we need to them together we spent a lot of time to pre-season gel in the last together and the fact that we gel together and listen to what we've gone through pre-season so we have it on the pitch and we've made a great start to the season so we're really lucky to have one of the club you set a new standards very high this season how far can you go really really well what are your expectation levels. I mean we demand our standards off the pitch and on the pitch to be fair and I think that shown this season realistically I think most money just at this level probably the same expectations that they want to get in around the playoffs and so we're no different from that but we know that we're going to obviously it's a long road to a season and we get off to carry on doing what we're doing to be anywhere near that and we've been fortunate enough now to have a decent F.A. Cup run and I'll see that continue next next after the way it with things and so we're happy with the way we're going but we're not going to rest on the laurels which thing which is still more to come is the F.A. Cup are a good distraction for you does it get everybody excited when the F.A. Cup comes around. And you see a little bit more of a response from the place pops yeah thing without a doubt I think we've sought out a little bit last night with the Marquis during the game no disrespect to them but it seemed like everyone was up for it's mostly that weekend in the F.A. Cup and I think so as everyone gets the F.A. Cup fever it gets around the changing rooms and it's an opportunity for allowed to potentially wouldn't play at that level of football and that Korea so they know that they obviously they don't the game and we showed up Saturday but we need to try to get that we can we've got are you enjoying football management RYAN Yeah I'm enjoying it so we say we should probably come a little bit sooner and the thought. To the kids grow job probably 34 years before with the well we're going to management but I'm enjoying it it's a learning curve you learn something new every week and people probably say that is a bit of a cliche but you literally do the side and on the money it's literally nonstop What's been the biggest surprise for you when you've gone into management. I just think I just think it's the organization of everything to be honest right from right from where you going to train and going to take training and one of the range in match days the coach bits of everything travel trying to obviously organize your players you have players who are on available through obviously work commitments family commitments it's just you're going in balance and everything I think you still have the same sort of issues as a professional football manager would have you know knocks on the doors from playas sign they've got a few issues IMO they want to be in the starting 11 and you've got to say that you still have the same problems yeah I think I think you do that and I think that's I think I've tried to build that relationship would be players I want to be just a money's unapproachable I mean a door is always open or I'm always on the other end of a phone whether it be a chat because that out of the side or whether it be a chat because they're not in the got family things I think it's important that we that we stick together as a group and I think that shows on the pitch you know you've got trust in your close knit group then obviously when you go out there you're all fighting for the same cause and there's not openness from you Do you think that. Also seen from your plays are they more open with each other. Yeah I think so I think I think if you look at the group that we've got this year although we've only been together for a limited time now probably going on for 3 or 4 months you can see that they've already chaldron and that's no shows the results are coming by that the lads trust each other and we're tight knit group and we'll stick together so you've got Workington away in the next round of the F.A. Cup you will be feeling pretty confident with what you've achieved so far yeah don't think I don't think we're going there for you know but obviously on the other I'm going to go and then respect them and then the day that the team for a higher level of all sport we know on our day that we're a match for anyone in our league and I would have thought that if we do go there perform like I know we can that we will be more than a match and with kids and I know a little more the positive result well before then Kozel the weekend when you know about I'm. Not a great deal if I'm being perfectly honest we're doing a bit of research on this week I know the they will naturally comes out with a win last year so they knew when to this level of football and they play on a 4 G. Pitch so obviously that's sometimes can be seen as a moment fancied but we were making excuses that will be going there for the pad and again the game if you can think of fast but we're in that's trying to come away with a positive result in the squad in good shape for the going to be one available. For Missing 4 or 5 at the moment for we're not going to make excuses for that about the the way non-league football is the games can take a fast early on in the season you pick up niggles and it's a case of THAT'S WHEN YOU NEED TO squad and emphasize that right from the start the season even the larger want in the team week in week out we're going to need everyone we're going to achieve anything this season we're going to need to get over 20 players if not more right Alston the kids great athletic manager told him to be a little earlier on in sport 6 months on those had just to remind you what we've got coming up for the rest the evening here on B.B.C.
