In the world. Just 16. Was. The and. The and. Thanks. To our. Thanks to a . A . A A A A well to answer Friday morning the weekend just around the corner for a good 10 past 6 on the 6th of September Steve we're here until 7 o'clock this morning Toby is back on breakfast this morning from 7 more about what he's got planned for you in a few moments from now 1st up though let's have a lot what's going on in the world from pages some of the papers this morning the mirror's headline crop up somewhere today even Borat his own family don't trust him is the headline for the mirror alongside a photo of the Johnson siblings This is Rachel Boris and Joe Johnson they PM sister Rachel was told him to climb down from a greasy pole and changes bricks it policy his brother Joe of course resigned yesterday from the government as a minister front page news for the Mirror The Guardian same story I quit Joe Johnson puts country before family as their headline then he got labor on the front page of The Telegraph and The Times this morning Labor's plotting to push back the election date to November says the Telegraph This is how they can be sure that a no deal breaks it won't happen same story for The Times no election until breaks it is delayed Daily Express quotes Boris Johnson I'd rather be dead in a ditch than delay Breck's if this is what he said when he was up in West Yorkshire up the road in Wakefield yesterday afternoon with those police officers all police cadets behind him and what else is going on at least someone's getting on with their brother that's the headline for the sun this morning they've got an image of the happy royal children place just a few inches to the right of an image of the Johnson brothers again now this was because princes Charlotte had a 1st day at the same primary school as Prince George yesterday and pictured both smiling to. Gether on the front page but last but he was in line I was it was a lot I don't know whether you saw the video on the on the B.B.C. News of them rocking up with their mom and dad to the primary school he had a wry face on him he was so impressed and anything but I dunno if you're anything like me I member when I was when I was at school and my younger sister rocked up for her 1st day at the same school it was like nope don't talk to me. Castings is. B.B.C. Radio Shack for you. When you're back. Up at the same skill to embarrass you. Think it. Was not impressed and. That's what I just think. Anyway. Pictured on the From. Me one aspect of black B.B.C. Radio Sheffield. With . Yeah I mean why now want to change back to black on The Early Show B.B.C. Radio Sheffield are you doing here I welcome to Friday then September the 6 up and out that weekend just around the corner as well I've got some good plans this weekend as well give us the gosh you know I was like a bit off on the tax I. On 3 to 3 start a text of the words after what you're up to this weekend any plans of if not the ordinary for me I'm really looking for this not Charlie's got a garridge old place. We've got no Garrett right at the moment I kid you not all the stuff that was in the gallery judge because basically. Guarantees you just that it's just stuff to hoard it's just a place to put everything into anything apart from a car goes in the garret and you are basically won't go on so at the moment all the stuff that was in the garbage our old place is no in what could be called a living room loosely of course it's got no worm no wallpaper on the walls no carpet on the 1st like concrete floor the money's completely bare and all the stuff in the carriage is in there at the moment so the idea is to get a shed move all into the shed. The. Times 5. What's the betting that is going to be missing right towards the end I reckon that's probably going to scream of the weekend days. On the roads. The roads at the moment a good time to win. In Sheffield. And then. If you. Make it the way on the. a weekday morning on the show past 5 and 6 o'clock right in the kind of seventy's eighty's ninety's early North. And with that in mind I actually got a quick text to go say good morning to all of the finest skipped again Bailly stance on Twitter this morning morning my friend and tabular say it's Steve loving the show but you've caused an argument on our own here on our car journey to work a couple of weeks ago used the release of Rain Man for a clue for 989 however today used the Raymond released a for November 88 why give us a shout out and explain if you can dance on Twitter this morning good morning my friend good to have you as well number one on the donkey brains number 2 actually know what it is I do clues from the year and then I do clues from the month and year. Raymond was actually made in 1908 sold have used it for the general close for that particular year in 1909 it won an Oscar it won several Oscars actually in 1809 so that's why probably used rain in both year's Oscar related in 89 released in 88 although for I think it was shown in kind of March 89 now we're all confused but that's why hopefully that. That explains it Bailey thanks very much whenever I say Bailey This is Bailey stance on what I just think I'm talking to my dog Bailey dog but anyway I have a good car journey out for you you heard that one my friend and good to have you with us early doors as well always good to hear from you write what else is going on the news and Boris Johnson he's hitting the campaign trail even though there's no general election has been triggered yet. He's hitting the campaign trail in Scotland today despite Labor's continuing opposition to his calls for a snap general election this fall is of course a trip up the road to Wakefield yesterday front page of some of the papers there with him in front of a load of police cadets who are graduating yesterday to West Yorkshire Police's headquarters what else is going on in the news and I mention this to headed snake to hear about this this is sinister as anything to headed snakes been found over in America. Is a rattlesnake as well it was found in a forest over in the US state of New Jersey which is just south of New York the reptile has a single body but it's got to fully formed heads 4 eyes 2 tongues all of which are working independently of each other like in Clash of the tongue and he was the snake wouldn't survive in the wild Apparently he's going to be looked after by his specialists but they've named the snake double day if what kind of ridiculous name is that Doubleday Anyway that's in the news this morning. Good to have you with us so we can call Stephanie. Love life it's all good to have you this morning Steve faily right on the right 7 o'clock this morning Toby with breakfast back on breakfast 7 and 10 talk among other things about this Imbrie really impressive collection of more than 10000 postcards there they're up for auction next week about how on earth to get a collection of 10000 of them they all feature Sheffield something so Sheffield transport sporting events Schaeffer's politics industry entertainment even advertising it's taken months to arrange them into all different categories and the Sheffield auction gallery it's going to be up for grabs Rob Rose has been traveling . While Mr Postman stop and look and see because in front of me are 10000 postcards probably more actually and they've been collected over the past 50 years by this wonderful gentleman stood at the side of me Tim Hale and you spent 50 years collecting these when did you start started way back in the late 1970 S. With basically moving on from collecting We often taking photographs myself 50 years is a long time but you know you just go and collect every day I mean there are regular postcards furs upand down the country if I shifted. It's own postcard Myers Grove many years ago and that's when I 1st started collecting You can always get access to postcards but of course putting together a collection like this just take time and dedication and you could say little I'm a little bit obsessive about that really and let's just take a step around this corner because where I am I'm at the Sheffield auction gallery and we've got sort of about 8 tables full of books of these magnificent post cost rushing back from the past 50 years let's look at this red folder you've got in front of you here if you just open it describe what we're seeing here this album is a miscellaneous album and this particular picture that you Peter Robbie's deep snowdrift and the reason why it's in the collection is because on the signpost in the distance it's her shift and a signpost it's got snow right up to the top of the sign is to bear and it's a gorgeous picture it's a black and white but you can really see the depth of the snow and all the countryside are well and that beautiful sign that wouldn't sign just stands out the Sheffield prominently on it Eve got a collection of sports the history of Sheffield it it's a wonderful transports and he got an animal here it was like a donkey Western for him to a year there's a donkey called our mutual friend which is Sheffield photographer M.N.'s who Morgan soon to take a lot of extremely good photographs of the city and the donkey I think was on choir lane in Sheffield turn when did you wake up and think Right I think now's the time to put these all together and let them go well they amounted to approximately 67 albums full of cards and the disappointing thing for a collector is when you go to a fair go to sue or you can buy postcards or buy whatever it is you collect and you don't find anything to add to collection No it's disappointing there is also another issue in that is that I do have Parkinson's and sifting through cards where you actually take them out manipulate them in your hands is a hard thing to do so it does become physically harder to actually manage them as well as her be an emotional time to spend a big part of your life for 50 years are you happy or you're quite sad to see them go. Mixed emotions I think really to be honest seeing them all laid out in front in thinking well there's a long life going into doing all this hard work sometimes hard and if anyone's listening who does a similar hobby if you've got a big secret you can reveal on the success that you've had a big secret the good wife looks after you know you sure that means she can accommodate you or in your collecting obsession frankly. That's true and I get done for hoarding rugby league shit while 10000 post cards collected bottom out himself and all about Sheffield I love stuff like surreal when when you get an option to have a look at some of the older ones there's a real window on the world gone by isn't it but there's still a strong connection there will be in the city more on this he's back on breakfast this morning as I mention from 7 o'clock he's going to be talking more about it with John Morgan the auctioneer from the gallery itself can be funny or you might want that 10000 strong collection after 7 this morning in Sheffield Doncaster rather And just a field. Casting. This is Radio Sheffield. You. Elite. The elite. And the in. To. The to. Our love song stay really bright for us thank you for your company say orally appreciate it back Monday morning by the way from thought it was about the shirt but with that I'll believe Charlie's actually expect me to do. Northen television this is B.B.C. Radio show. Good morning it's 7 o'clock on a Friday morning is Toby a breakfast is Nick with the news morning Nick Hello Toby This just in this morning Robert Mugabe the former president of Zimbabwe has died he was 95 and had been receiving treatment in Singapore Robert Mugabe was ousted from office in a military coup in 2017 The B.B.C.'s former correspondent in Harare Graeme far it looks back the rise of Robert Mugabe from guerrilla leader to President was a tribute to his energy intellect and ruthlessness he was hardened by more than a decade in jail during white minority rule and a lengthy Bush war on winning elections at independence in 1980 Mr Mugabe was a claim for his appeal to end racial divisions but his leadership came to be defined by intolerance violence and economic mismanagement the seizure of white owned farms shattered the rule of law and the economy it was the ambition of his wife Grace to succeed him that led to his downfall when he finally stepped down at the age of $93.00 under threat of impeachment thousands took to the streets to celebrate Boris Johnson's on the campaign trail today for an election that's not happening yet after a day in West Yorkshire where he said he'd rather be dead in a ditch than asked the E.U. To delay Breck's it be on the 31st of October the prime ministers in Scotland today will try again next week to persuade the Commons to back a German election Jeremy Corbin says he'll only support one when it's clear efforts to stop Boris Johnson from leaving the E.U. Without a deal have succeeded on Question Time on the telly last night the shadow foreign secretary Amalie Thornberry was asked when she wanted an election because we don't trust the prime minister the opposition parties working together to say I'm sorry Prime Minister but we're not going to just give you a blank check because you know what it will be you know have the election OK 1st miss it I. I think that we should have a general election when we can be certain that we will nods Sheffield auction gallery John Morgan is the auctioneer responsible for selling them but I think it's a snapshot in time it covers approximately 100 years of Sheffield's history from the late Victorian era right through to the 980 S. All I'm going to say this is a collection I'm sure will do 5 figures so what is Tim secrets his collection how bit big secret have the good wife looked after you sure that she can accommodate you or your collecting obsession frankly and if you fancy getting your hands on some of these postcards Well they go for auction on the 12th of September this is Rob Rose of the Sheffield altering.
