In Melbourne it was a similar time to it seems to me you know 2006 when we had think we left at the beginning of March when there was snow falling not quite beast from the east caliber and we had to be went to Melbourne and then had Hong Kong and Singapore on the way back with us this time I think it's Hong Kong the games are in the middle and then they have Singapore on the on the way home so a tournament preparation which actually is good given the couple of the govt returning from 15 give them a tournament to going to get battle hardened as it were for the sevens and then have a crack at the Commonwealth Games and I think the squad might change a little bit for Singapore on almost on the way home that 15 guys will come straight back into the club and some of the under sevens guys with a crack in Singapore it's a fabulous occasion isn't it these this whole trip on there and having the games in the middle of it as well as the if you see these events it's fabulous for you guys it's as players and collectively as a team Yeah no is the home of games is a bit different as well we're obviously going as a supporter of and so normally we would go and stay in a hotel where the 16 other teams with the sevens teams wears will be all the different athletes in the calm of games and this will be my 1st one so can I really looking forward to that as a bit of a different experience as well yeah I mean what's been the build up been like for you personally. It's been a bit of a funny season for me personally I picked up a shorter injury last year and had an operation and September so I've actually not played a lot of rugby until now. This one will be unique because we will get a bit more downtime. As John mentioned we're flying in under the radar for the opening ceremony but we will be at the closing ceremony. And then we get a week off in Singapore as well so that we've got more downtime there we were away I mean might be able to get to explore these places yourself but I think. That the issue that it can be seen as a distraction but the flip side of it is as a job you'd be quite happy do you druther be getting ready to go to Hong Kong the Gold Coast in Singapore than ready to go but I'm fully aware. Or as you've been speaking about turning to Down Under as the athletes gather to compete on the golf course and call and you're just explain your rule this isn't any different to the one that you've had in the past isn't that yeah yeah I'm going Well actually it's the Commonwealth Games Federation of set up a mathlete advisory commission I think there's the big into the athletes being the center of the organization and with them obviously there wouldn't be a games so I am the the European representative on that which To be honest I'm not entirely sure what that will actually involve there's a mathlete survey that's done so we're kind of driving that to make sure we get an understanding of the experiences that the athletes have and again it's not just about the core fuel the on in the pool ever is on track it's about that whole Commonwealth Games expedience I've also got leading on a workshop talking of boat fleet and still looking at think there's been work or not kind of a unified cooled when it comes to anti doping for charter of rights and responsibilities are and awfully So it is basically just looking at how you can how we can help make sure that the athletes are kind of front and center and they're being considered and everything that's that's going on the on the kind of behind the scenes say to things I'm also on the board with Commonwealth Games Scotland sort of beacon of Team Scotland kilt so I'll be be rockin that a couple of different events and things as well and spoke with the guys that are organizing the commentary around the 7 so I'll be kind of working at that as well show we did talk on the A couple of different roles which totally different to non-playing But obviously the stadium and sure we actually want to play but those days are sadly beyond me so it really excited about going over there and experiencing it from from the other side of it and even in the build up working with with Team Scotland.
