Baillieu Scotland. To the news of the morning police in Texas see the man they suspect of cutting a series of possible attacks over the last fortnight is dead the Austin Police Chief Brian Manley told a news conference the suspect was a 24 year old white male. As members of the Austin Police Department SWAT team approached the vehicle the suspect detonated a bomb inside the vehicle knocking one of our SWAT officers back and one of our SWAT officers fired at the suspect as well. The suspect is deceased and has significant injuries from a blast that occurred from detonating a bomb inside his vehicle and we'll go live to Austin Texas for the very latest in just a few moments but back here Scotland's most remote areas that expect to lose more than a quarter of their population over the next 3 decades according to a new to search from the James Hotton institute the report that changes have serious implications for local workforces on the economy posing a threat to crafting as a way of life I've been speaking to the report's author under Copus we're talking about the most remote responsibly populated areas which we've. Defined as those areas where from which you cannot reach a population of 10000 people in. So we're talking about the the mountain tops and the most remote rural. Areas of Scotland and they've got roughly 2 and a half percent of the population of Scotland in them but they cover almost half the Scottish area. And the issue is that most. Analysis of population change does is done for council areas or the whole of Scotland or regions and what we've done which is new is look at or this. Large area with a small population which doesn't fit any of the the boundaries that are normally used. And we find that it's an area which has a population with an H. Structure which has been affected by migration over 2 centuries really say that it is not able to sustain itself is in a sort of cycle of. Decline and the the only way to. Bring that population back into if you like a safe self-sustaining position is is full of fairly massive migration into the area I could not be achieved one wonders because as you say the this isn't over the last couple of 100 years and there's also been has there no i don't end migration of people perhaps retiring to what they perceive of seen Acadia as wilderness areas so probably 2 things in. Acting on on not on that demographic. Yes of course they are the migration of or tied people doesn't do anything for you or a structure anything positive it reinforces the problem. But the other the other issue is that we have a lot of younger people moving out. For full time education and maybe never never coming back and saw and this is this is all of familiar issue. And what we're not saying is that. We have any preconceptions about what the future of this area should be. We're not saying that it should be frozen in you know as having the population had in 2011 when the last census was taken or anything like that we really bring for the full with the evidence on which to start to think about how we deal with this the moment yeah if there are no people of working age it does make you wonder then where the jobs that are actually there with are going to be fulfilled from Will it be a case of people coming in for a few years or people migrating there for some or 2 dozen jobs not sort of thing. We could it could be those of those but I think we have to look and look forward and explore the potential. Of that's being offered by you know digitize ation by the use of. The broadband and and the ability to carry. Economic activity. Almost anywhere providing you have a good group and link. And I in I think the the future of these areas is going to be different from what from its past. There are many new opportunities. Need to be explored and we shouldn't. We shouldn't be looking back we should be looking forward to under Cooper says of the James heart and institute Let's go back to Texas where police say the man they suspect of carrying out those parcel bomb a time is dead let's talk to Nicole Krause news anchor and reporter for key vu T.V. In Austin Nicole what's the latest Well the latest is that the person of interest who local authorities described as a suspect yesterday is dead they approached him he was outside of a hotel and they approached him and as authorities were approaching he detonated a bomb that was inside his vehicle that killed him and it also injured one local officer but only minor injuries that officer is expected to be OK at this time with armies are saying they don't have a motive they don't know if that suspect acted as a lone wolf if you acted alone they don't know if other explosive devices were planted in the Austin area within the last 24 hours and so that will be the focus of the investigation today we still have the A.T.F. The F.B.I. And the Austin Police Department on scene here in Round Rock Texas and best getting the vehicle because there could have been a rather device inside that you know and they're also investigating at the hotel where the suspect was staying we are told that suspect is that's when a 4 year old white male who is from the Austin area and that he is connected to all of the Austin bombings and the have been reports the police authorities the SWAT team perhaps filed towards the suspect yes yes we're on 3 this morning local time. Police in out its weight saying that they were working an officer involved shooting So what happened is that said. Speck was it is the local authorities begin to follow that suspect that suspect stopped in his vehicle and then as authorities were approaching a bomb went off when the bomb went off one officer fired a shot towards that suspect. And you mentioned that the suspect is 24 year old male anything else nor about him nothing else unknown about him already is or not really think it's a name at this time because they're warning to notify his next of kin and they're not giving us any information about the actual homemade bombs that were made by the suspect but they do say they received several leads within the last 36 hours and they tied it to a suspicious package that was located at a Fed Ex facility here in Austin yesterday and they were able to then look at surveillance video and track his whereabouts and where he made purchases and 0 in on him early this morning being some suspicion at least early on in the series of bombings that they were motivated by race hate to think that the motivation might reemerge know that we know who who did them and there's a greater say they're not ruling anything out initially you know it was an African-American it was their own area of Austin that is predominantly African-American but then there was a Hispanic victim and then there was a trip wire where it was a very random scenario and that affected 2 young white men and then this suspect is a white male as well so at this point it sort of crossed over not only affecting African-Americans or minorities but oriented people who could be walking along a sidewalk that was the case on Monday what do you think the reaction will be of the General Austin populace to this news this morning I think I've spoken with neighbors I've spoken with the city of Austin mayor that layer and everyone is feeling just really relief that a suspect has been captured or that that suspect is dead that that is the person who is connected to the bombings so there's a great sense of relief and does that. Where to begin the healing process where now begin to look at the sort of psychological aspects of this crime trying to understand the mindset of this serial bomber and to try to understand his motivation in the air to see why ask after the big question OK Nicole cross in order some of the answers to those questions will come in the next little while but thanks very much for joining us this morning Nicole is from key vu E.T.V. In Austin Texas. No how we turned our backs to the sea with amount of time nation and no we didn't Scotland a year more than about 70 miles from it but a report by scientific advisors to the U.K. Government saying we need to reacquaint ourselves with the sea a professor Edward Hill is executive director of the National. Center joins us now hello hello So tell me why you think perhaps we have neglected the Oceans Well I suspect we just take it for granted where as you say we're surrounded by the sea and perhaps is just too familiar. For for us and of course a lot of the sea is out of sight and out of mind it's mostly an invisible world hidden below the surface of the sea and even if you take a sample of sea water it just looks like clear water but it's really teeming with life so I think we. Have just lost our contact contact with it despite being a great maritime nation with huge inherent heritance with the sea imbedded in our history and culture to think people are aware of just how much the sea is a work place in terms of you know the made of exports that they had scattered overseas they might have imports which is greater than that as well as the fishing industry they don't really take on board if you like your pardon the pun a suppose about how much the sea is worked I think that's absolutely right and just to put the need to come text the U.K. Marine economy is worth about 47000000000 pounds a year is about 4 percent of our G.D.P. That is bigger than some other sectors like automotive for example 95 percent of our trade is by sea just about everything you buy in the supermarket is come across the the ocean one way or another and indeed 95 percent of all our Internet traffic is by submarine fiber optic cables a lot of which is really quite vulnerable to being broken by submarine landslides. It's a thing that we don't think about. Interconnectedness what the rest of the world is not just by chance and so on your art or satellites but it's under the under the sea and also it's a resource of the oceans and a resource which is not necessarily fully nor not even fully marked That's right I mean the ocean is an enormous resource in many ways people are more more familiar with we fish about in the and we're looking for new resources in the ocean new clean forms of energy for example. Marine genetic products foundation of porta new drugs for example. But also that the sea provides us with all sorts of hidden services that we don't often recognize for example about a 3rd of all of the carbon C O 2 we've emitted into the atmosphere has actually ended up in the ocean if it wasn't for the ocean we have a much bigger problem today that than we have and 93 percent of all excess heat taken out by the Earth is is in the ocean somewhere so it's it's helping to moderate and regularly our our climate so does a lot of been if then things for us in hidden way and also brings us to weather doesn't it because as we've seen from the Beast from the east if we don't get our weather from the Atlantic it can be pretty chilly Absolutely and if you take a line of latitude or around the world and look at all of the places are at Scotland's latitude you go into Siberia Alaska Canada it's a pretty chilly place and we've got the sea to thank for that warm climate and you'd like people to go to it and face the sea a bit more cops visit go on ships and so on I think so and and also. To try to reconnect with it in other ways the blue planet has been. Wonderful for enabling people to actually see some things and of I think people have 2 reactions when they see what goes on both the water one is absolute wonder at some of the fantastic creatures but also in some cases a sense of horror at what we're doing and the whole issue of Marine plastics is brought that must have because your you told us you know what goes into the same terms of you know the warmth that sort of top but of course other things going into the sea pollution not just plastic pollution but even a Christic pollution with all these ships and things on the water and things under the water yes so the sea is under enormous pressure from human activity and we are get we are going to turn to the sea for more and more resources and space and so forth as we have 9000000000 people living on the planet by 2050 it's inevitable and most of these people are also living in low lying coastal regions quite exposed to dangers from the from the sea so but we are putting it under a lot of pressure it's been the oceans becoming more acidic we know that plastics it's warming and so forth so the accumulation of all of these stresses we need to be careful of which is why we need much more concentrated scientific endeavor to really make sure that as we use the sea we do so responsibly and sustainably because we really understand what is happening and what our impacts are preferred Hill executive director of the National Oceanographic Center thanks very much 25 past 12 let's get the sport with Phil let's head to rowdy shall we build some Bob we capitalise here Scotland's cricketers sort of trying to book their spot at next year's World Cup the chance in 199 to beat the West Indies but have made a poor start with the bot 36 for 3 after 11 over some delight to say the 20 Brian chairman of Cricket Scotland joins us from the how are the ground and Tony 1st and foremost house the now so. I would hope that the guys out you know. No the rest of us he is spectating into both of them are very nervous but it's not all the way let's go to school. It is a but wouldn't it be great to have a success story vest time and I think we should bear in mind that phone or for any newcomers the cricket was listening to this 36 for 3 sounds quite disastrous but if Scotland get a partnership built here the could set themselves up for that the law to run chase . You're exactly right but we are stuck with good partnerships we haven't locked in any long to get just under 99200 runs to get and I've got a couple of decent partnerships as I say then you know we will be in a very good place unless but this requires a couple of a batsman to get a stand and really going going don't just go and can I ask you as chairman of Cricket Scotland with your blazer being worn impeccably and what was your reaction when Chris Gayle went with the 1st ball and then Scotland took the 2nd West Indies where just 8 balls later. Much of that my performance was less than men think about . Who is obviously very delighted but yet I mean it's part of the game as we had hoped to do a couple of quick. And we kept on keeping the score and then they have a good partnership we got my stability and then we just kept on with it and so it's been the day the guys thought they were but. Can be pretty lawless some I believe he has been but our level supporter rather than any plays that I'm in a state of the game Tony can I ask you finally we were speaking to Captain kind of had this morning on Good Morning Scotland and he was speaking about this being out of you Billy the most important game in Scotland's has 3 not just to book a place at the what'll Cup next year but to show the I.C.C. The International Cricket Council that Scotland deserves to perhaps one day be upgraded to full Test status would not create the headlines around the world but as an administrator you would hope would develop Scottish cricket. Others who no doubt will agree there will be actually Absalom or not not only would it force a lot of cricket to really recognize Scotland but let's be honest I hope it would but Tottenham wake up realise what a strong cricketing community and performance Lord that we have we have you know more people think they can stop once they like they're not like that's not number many we are strong in nation and you know believe with a win like this we could become really quite major in the world stage and be be seen as one of the one of the top 10 in science quite easily 21 chairman of Cricket Scotland thank you we hope that your blazer will not be as impeccably dressed as it should be at the end of this March because that would possibly mean that Scotland have won but still Adly days to go 12 overs gone scot on fatty 7 for 3 they're chasing a 199 to win not just to beat the West Indies but to book the spot at next summer's Cricket World Cup good luck to them Come on Scotland and come on Teresa told them with the travel news Thank you Bill the high wind warnings are on the Sky Bridge and also the castle bridge now the bridge just waiting to see roadworks mean there's a link closure site buying today the coins should be removed before peak and time fall could the 801 even gorge close developing close for the next month or so of Americans that appears there is a diversion and the end $77.00 leaving Glasgow there's a link between 4 prick for 5 maiden hope for road works causing side by delays that's B.B.C. Shetland should be placed correctly on all maps produced by the Scottish government according to the Isles M.S.P. Tavish Scott says the islands are usually inserted in a box on mumps and placed somewhere around the muddy Firth he's pressing for the move at Holyrood today saying the boxing of Shetland is the cause of some annoyance he says other bodies me that follow suit I think government always of a good role to play in that sense in in making sure that they send an important signal out there to other organizations particular on quangos lots of other organizations who look at government publications all the time and I think would be a very positive step for the government to accept this amendment today and send that signal not just about shuttle but about getting them out right across Scotland Well that's the news and coming up on the john be sure to talk about chores and who does what our own the hose been getting some reaction some of Barney's one of our regular listeners and I'm presuming this for Joe He said My wife complains I don't do enough around the house I said I did all the chores and she said what chores and he said in a large whiskey don't forget the surest thing you sure are good it will turn out in 5 if you want to join and it's a fixture that's sure to bring back a few memories Italian 1000 names. Religion Europe's March towards a push Christian society seems to be suggested by research showing a majority of young people in a dozen countries do not follow any religion the survey of 16 to 29 year olds found the Czech Republic is the least religious country in Europe with 91 percent of the group saying they have no religious affiliation between 70 percent and 80 percent of young adults in a store near Sweden the Netherlands and the U.K. Also categorize themselves as non-religious So is this an issue here to discuss fully is a solvent for the scope of human society and school and the youngest minister Stuart love monitor. Afternoon to both of you daft in an afternoon if there's a 1st of all is this part of a trend that you think is inevitable. I think it's along anyone who's looked at this is seen this happen over a long long period of tell you it's only through the 20th century and for young people I don't think it's surprising when you look at the generation before I think we look at the reasons why most young people aren't religious affiliation is because actually the appearance never brought them up and not context so why then would be the feigned that some of them of course well find it independently or through other activities but actually I think that's the biggest reason it's not the only reason that people do have a just affiliation but if they're not brought up within that context and they're not going to be attached or. Do you recognize what these figures seem to be should I think that the don't show anything that comes as a great surprise I actually completely agree that if we anecdotally speaking as a young minister I know that young people are not as involved religiously as in previous generations and what do you think that is well I agree with the the idea that being not being brought up in a religious household is something that will undoubtedly be an impact there are other factors too that I think we are living in a time when there is so much variety and so much option for young people that they need to be given the space to explore and part of the exploration is perhaps not just accepting the faith of previous generations I do happen to feel that young people will come to faith but by independent means because they are afforded the space to explore and find out for themselves so when you are if I'm right when you are called to the church you said that was a sign that God wasn't finished with the church Gotland But these findings might seem to indicate that in terms of structured religion a lot of young people just aren't looking towards him or her yes and I think that the church has to take responsibility for that and we're the ones with the message we're the ones that have to reach out and explain to people this is what we believe this is why we believe it this. Why we would hope that you might choose to believe this yourself I think the church has suffered because there was an expectation that previous generations would just be part of the church so we haven't made the same we're deference that we we know need to and this research if anything shows that we need to be making more effort to tell people for we're all about. Humanism or secular there's I'm becoming the new religion now I don't think it's really a religion because there's not an underpinning you know you have to live your life in a particular we supposed being rational or vote questioning things that we but actually watch tourist talking about who you know questioning the feast of people beforehand and you know become quite dogma dogmatic about saying there is no God It's not a big dog my I mean I think that's driven by a rational experience of the world around us that there isn't a God for example and that's not the only aspect of humanism I hope you'll appreciate them but it's being a part of a community as a boat working with people as being charitable and being nice but you know there's a must taken over some of the religious traditions and ceremonies so you know get humanist weddings and humanist funerals and so on so it seems to have quite smoothly taken over from the functions and those ceremonies in actual fact are because people look for those key moments in life to mark that part of the human psyche Actually I would argue rather than necessarily being related to some kind of belief system and actually they're looking for something to do it in the way that means most meaningful to them which is why they come to us at the human society because we build the center many around the parents and we build around their life in the case of a funeral or we build our own deletion ship that the couple have in the case of a wedding there's not a boat or a greeter Pomona and instance as opposed to individual of the individual case of a funeral I mean that I've been talking about humanist funerals and weddings and it does seem to naming semi's people to feel the need to gather to mark an occasion you know to commune. With other people if you like but not necessarily with God So how do you convince them that God is a part of that and come back to the church I recognised much like the Titans God Well having just conducted a funeral this morning and I feel I can speak with some degree of experience the funeral I conducted today was all about the person who had passed away we gather together to celebrate their life and acknowledge that they were no longer with us to share in that grief but something that I was able to share with those that gathered was that we as Christians believe that. In this very sad experience of death there is something more there is a. We've we've heard it used higher power I would call that God to Jesus Christ through him there is the experience of greater comfort and greater peace and greater assurance and that's something which I hope the people today were able to receive and see there is more that we can drop on to deal with these circumstances I wonder freezer because you'll be looking at these figures and seeing well that's a good thing you know if the young if young people are becoming less religious That's a good thing but it is though the possibility do you think that this is all quite cyclical and that in fact what you see years of progress 2 oars less religion actually is just the don't turn in the so-called In fact society may become much more religious It certainly has in some parts of the world as it was the answer to that is we have to wait and see and reality but I think what this does these figures givers is a question about actually how do we free Marsa big society how do we run our civic society is there as a police for example reserved polices and privilege for religious institutions that we still have in some areas of law when in fact actually the majority population don't fit within those confines you know for example in the House of Lords or representatives on the boards or the committees that run schools and school and have to question what police does the religious institution rather than the freedom and religion and belief of the individual which we are. I completely respect and want to protect that freedom for the individual but do the institutions themselves have some kind of right that you know others don't have and still do think there will be a revival of a grand revival of religion as a minister yes I do see what faith is all about. As I see that this recess early signs of that. On a growing level yes I know in my own parish for example the way that my congregation build relationships with people it shows the positive way that faith can impact a community. Bigger picture as a as a Christian I do believe if the church applies herself correctly then we will begin to gauge with people again and this research for me is the kind of kick up the backside if he will to see let's actually get a boat and do that OK well thank you both very much for joining us this lunchtime a stew of love that evidence your love is a saw and cut from the Scottish human of society and the term is no quarter but in the early quarter to one I bought for sitting in for John Beattie with you until half past 1 or B.B.C. Radio Scotland coming soon whether a new Scotland away strip should be worth 130 poems or should have just been one today imposed by the before citizenry with the latest target it works like that bill but here are the headlines to reason me has described as very concerning allegations that the British data from Cambridge analytic or misused Facebook information to influence the 26000 U.S. Elections unemployment has gone up in Scotland and across the U.K. As a whole and of Ember to January the number of people out of work and looking for a job in Scotland reached 118000 at least 29 people have been killed in a suspected suicide bombing in the Afghan capital Bill these are mixed groups said it was behind the attack. In 1902 Raymond Gilmore was found guilty of the murder of a teenage girl in Johnston everything about it from top to bottom just dying over the horrible miscarriage E.-T. Stark meets the man at the center of the keys. Hears from characters in the story who is an internal which suggests the officers who had secured this confession may have been a little overzealous and the lingering doubt that could be ignored as time went on the feeling justice and the anatomy of an investigation starts today from 130 on B.B.C. Radio Scotland. A Scottish football fans of taken to social media to voice their opinions on the new Scotland away strip which was revealed by the yesterday many supporters seem to welcome the switch from pink to yellow but haven't been happy with the price it costs $103.00 pounds for the fool replica Scotland a week it. Potentially for 80 quid for a full youth a week speak to mom of 2 Trisha ward and Paul good one from the Scottish football supporters association I will both Hello. Tricia 1st of all do you when you know these things are coming or do you sort of dread the requests. And I do make it clear unlike. It won't be straight back to face. You know that I have a sort because. You know you get by the fact that. Much but they don't know the place we should put me to give them with the tickets on them with the price tickets on them playing the tape of everything the value of nothing that well that's a that's for sure Paul you're getting a lot of feedback on us. Thank you any time there's. The least I think is 2 things to ease the ego feed bite one is doesn't look nice and the fans happy and 2nd aspect all the praise which always comes back to so you know there's a lot of people feel it's too expensive but the argument we get from P.S.A. As you read from the clubs that is is pretty much the market repeat if you're dealing with I didn't is human nature all about Brines the same they get caught the retailer gets the cut there is a margin in the year and yes a fee just going to make profit so they can help fund. Should say we have asked for a statement we haven't got anything yet but I suspect you're right that they will see well if you want to buy a bunch of C. Elated a stripper Liverpool Street that these are the sort of ballpark figures that you would be paying beautiful that perhaps they would've made of it cheaper for youngsters Yeah I mean I think you would like to get it is cheap is possible in an ideal world and it were but it was. More and easier to play why you would you know want to do initiatives in school would you want to try in these many boys and girls clubs or playing football and do initiatives they don't know the S.F. You have started doing I think you get money off a game you get a free flight if you buy it sort of starting to you know to try and I value you know I think in recognition of the. Expensive back yet and moms and dads are put under pressure to try and buy the treasure just before we ask the court in S.F. a Statement saying We understand the pressure of the cost of football we did try and make pounds placing decisions across activities on the subject of kit prices these are determined by our commercial partners but the add in line with the prices of other national team and club replica steps the present represent good value given the quality and style of the product and that each week at Purchase with us included a ticket to the Scottish Football Museum on a ski. And flag question come from action Di sales is reinvested back into developing grassroots women's and club football in Scotland I'm sure you're glad to hear that Tricia But the reality has been your children if they will notice that the Scotland on the strip has been completely change the colors completely change to the even notice things like if there's a you know a diff slightly different design to the favorite clubs ordinary home kit and then how do you deal with it if they start asking for these you know quite expensive tops Yeah I think it's just a case of trying to explain the course involved and we just don't have that disposable income to say Well here we to quote There's been a search and I think also you know you can if you're Bieber is boy too fast of you know there's a loyal customer for be so. And we have to you know you have to buy that if you're going to be part of our loyal Tartan Army. Poll the other part of the statement that we there's a few of provided to us is to say that they're just in the place of the junior school and supporters club membership from $25.00 pounds to 5 could and they're also working with schools to provide promotional tickets for the the much against Costa Rica's So they say they are trying. Yeah I know it wasn't We've got to applaud and I you know I think they recognize that this is an issue and they recognize is that you know as experienced as a consensus voter and finds who go I think the one big saving getting some would see from the national team state of things as in the introduce new Tenet is for the tradition of the tournament so you get least 2 years of wear and tear of the garments and they do better quality than maybe a bit higher in years gone by Unlike the clubs where the change you know you know every year and some of the back of clubs get sick constructs in some stripes goodness gracious one of the metaphors trouble on stage at least with the national team you're going back to your easy to get is from the judging is a good point if you know Mike has such a way of know if you know. 6 months or a year you know the steps so that they may no longer tend to get them even you know what if this to be a good 2nd hunt market in the most Well I think there's an end to that we can take stick to the S. And P. And C. Work ethic that's the key piece you bring that the old one by you get the 2nd one a half raise or something you know these are the types of things I thank I started with got him going you got chap in here who's looking at all the commercial communications stuff and I think that really really going to move in that So I think you can take ideas like that to them and let's see where they go just on a static question through to everyone as well but what do we think about the new yellow Luke certainly a change from the think and the other member of the being quite of. Pink and whether it was of a historical thing but you know the force was there it was it was used to sort of clip a Scotland but yeah well yeah. If you're so sweet to play Israel though they're not the. I'm not sure that it is that Al Gore. Should not have told us names Leo and to us as well Leon just a big Getting that you can't shouldn't say on here. When you I know that you're going to spoil. Yes he probably will get and Paul what you want so much place it so it will what's your view on the on the color just just well luckily the I like it I think it is you know it goes back to I Can't they were hired in the past. And you know it's in the. National i go i rampant so you know we're one and I don't. Like Miss Oldcastle How are you going to Lucky yellow Let's hope Paul Goodwin and Tisha Ward thanks very much what do you think of the yellow anyway and I think it's quite an optimistic color I don't mind the pink but the pink one with the stripes is quite low Yeah well tell us what you think it was 2000005 perhaps you've seen the pictures in the papers 8 to 95 though unless you're blessed with never having to lift a finger in the host you'll know all too well that keeping on top of the host work and daily can be hard to manage especially with a busy lifestyles or we can and we coach the average but spends 5 hours on host work and tasks not Myers they don't it's not just doing the time arguing about the center week as well we spend 36 minutes beckoning over menial tasks apparently equips to 34 hours each week each week you know you don't see year going to depends on the host sort of thing 4 hours a week or 2 in according to a new survey doing the washing up ticking the bones and vacuuming are causing the most tension so what if you could find a way to reduce the time you spend on host or chores one woman says she's devised a method we can get everything done in 30 minutes a day with weekends off I've been speaking to. Java brew also known as the organized mom but cleaning our house for over 5 hours a week and that's a big chunk of time and it's it's creating arguments in households you know 34 hours a year we're spending all going by over the housework which is a massive chunk of time so the whole idea behind the organizer method is to make it make cleaning make doing the housework as pain free as possible and so you can get on with the rest of your life because I'm a massive advocate that there's more to life than housework Jemma you seem to use call it the organized mom is that I'm in charge of basically the daughter for housekeeping because I'm hoping it's not just you know mom or women or you know lots of the video it's you know you know what that the if I could go back in time and change the name of my blog. I would say I mean I started this I started it 12 years ago when I had my 1st child and I just throwing a new born into the mix just based through my house into complete disarray and I thought I need to be an organized mom and then I devised the organize my method but obviously we have dads following along you know we have grandparents following like you don't have to be a mom to follow along so yes it is inclusive of everybody so what's the key to it. The kitty right so the main idea behind it is that you can get an awful lot done in 30 minutes so we set our time as for half an hour and that could stop she from the cleaning leaking into into the rest of the day so you put all distractions to one side and put the phone down you know scrolling through the Internet and you do as much as you can in that half now and every day Monday to Friday because we don't plan on the weekends it's very important and I you do as much you can in that one room so Monday's living room cheese days the bedrooms those days in the kitchen so the longer you follow the method for cleaning your house gets so is being organized as you see and that's the key is not to think oh my gosh Dust Bowl is all over my flat or something it's the lot today and then the next day I see the same Dust Bowl and I think what is this up and you're saying concentrate on the bedroom concentrate on the kitchen and the days that was half hours up throughout the week yeah and then that way you're always keeping on top of the house and you know you never in that massive panic moment where you thinking oh my goodness someone's coming round in half an hour and the place you know is is a tip because it always looks good but there are some things that have to be done over dish washing or using a dishwasher or well or putting the bones are these are these have to be done and you can't see do and foresee the night use the next week yeah no obviously so I'm not letting the washing up pile up like. You do 7 days of washing up on it on a Thursday and I say what we did so we have a Facebook group called Team Thomas a team the organize my method and what we all day is we we see those jobs is just part of being an adult so cleaning so we have hacks to clean up after yourself ready quickly when you're cooking and so just to keep on top of all that and that's just just general life stuff what we're talking about is making sure the house looks good all the time I mean bickering jamma Yeah Are there certain tasks that some hope to use the word. Naturally fall putting the bones Well yes exactly about Without it my husband and I even started talking about it we had a few years ago he takes the bends and he says you know did you have a ticket Bennett before us we'll pull them up a site that will be done twice a week or something he does the arning without me asking because I never used to iron very much either yeah but I'm kind of left to do everything else I have to say will sell so my husband does resigning I mean I hate ironing and it's one of the jobs that I avoid at all costs and I've got like a store of lots of little tips along the way to cut out as much as possible he does the ironing he takes the bins out but not because I do it because he gets up early and the dustbin lorry comes really early in the morning so it just makes sense for him him to do that but from last straw poll that we did on Facebook group a while ago it does seem that there are definite Patton's in doing what's. The risk of extending this interview for 20 minutes or how people are going to loose the fixed question of teenagers and you get them to organize their own room or their own washing or the real life or they run up I've got 3 boys have got a 12 year old so he's just about on the verge of being a chain and 9 year old and a 2 year old and they and they I do you get them involved I think it's really really important that kids learn how to be self-sufficient learn how to do basic jobs like do a load of laundry make their bad how to cook a basic Mayo because otherwise they just reach adult hood and they're propelled into this wild and they don't know how to separate their washing otherwise it all comes out red it's really important to get them involved germ abraded also known as the organized mom.
