Does not long to go Mind you as step up to the microphone small child. Now get out there and beg for some money or something when you go and do something to Kenzie and how they miss reporting this morning from a bank since she turned on their lights last night and she even about Father Christmas. Oh you know me watching. C them. Yes Mr Low. Is it really is fantastic Father Christmas so Coming up we'll tell you some things that are going on this weekend while you were sleeping it's a bit of a mess in France among your micro who just like to lecture the rest of the world as an about if you're thinking of going to France this weekend there's a national largest nationwide strike there in the years and if you're doing anything in France will give up basically it's no good it's like that always striking there really is a French air traffic controllers strike and there are some a while now only a fraction of the capital's transport system is working Paris has bus and Metro operates I've said their walk out is going to last until Monday this is to do with the pension schemes and are happy with what's going on with the pensions there at the moment which is some of the Jacques Chirac tried to sort out years ago and failed and now on his having a go the offer was close garden or unusually quiet so if you think you've got to France over the weekend for whatever reason is the message Meanwhile the whole thing this morning about manners if you've been following any of this is for I thought something yeah and yes there's a whole debate in a few papers today about whether you would give up your seat for someone on a train this is the pesky ladies of those millennial Xah get us sick as I am of being lectured by a millennial as in their behavior all the time every day millennia as this millennium is that millions really a millennial etiquette differs greatly from that of their parents and grandparents a coach in this study most would not give up their seat on a train all hold the door open for the want of true Jean like the one here not the millennial that I'm like pretty much the millennial and absolutely my friends and my young my friends a few years younger than me definitely would get up with the an elderly lady or a pregnant woman or I know that's interesting because when I was growing up he would give up your seat for a woman which I think is really in the seventy's Yeah Ok if you were sitting on the London Underground where I grew. If a woman got on the train you would get any doesn't happen now that wouldn't happen and I don't want any Delta now which is really interesting because we are just as capable of passing down as someone All right what about holding out a chair because you are quite as capable of holding out a chair as I am if you're on a date it's quite nice This is why it's so confusing being at all the top all right we go through a door together you and I if we left left here now I would naturally let you go 1st yes ladies 1st that's sexist I know but I think that happens quite a lot that you will go along the pavement as the man stand on the outside yes the road will be inside always on the outside Ok somebody throws sewage out of reach that's the reason why yes I think I caught the regulars out as well but no I was told that it was in the good old days when people just throw sewage out of the window it would land on the man not the woman. Good. Thing this is really interesting apparently there's a lot more here on bad manners as witches and some as I agree with don't read somebody's mobile phone over the shoulder don't announce someone's news on social media before they've had a chance to this is all about millennial habits and manners is my favorite one in there don't take smelly takeaway food into an enclosed space like a train or a bus. That's just who you met or the rudest sex according to this study as well just one in 8 observe rules of politeness with women almost twice as polite but particular I think when it comes to what's the correct and incorrect way to treat the opposite sex is really interesting is it any wonder so if you're having such a go I mean if you say but if it is any one of the medics confused we don't know what to do anymore I think she will reason I think you should hold on to chivalry you know not but what if it's right me if I give up my seat for you on a train I was never do that I think you can take it really. If you're on a date. You know with a phone and he sat down and you didn't and he didn't let you have the c. Oh I mean I wouldn't mind that they would let him sit it out and get by I want to train my own restaurant oh no that's a great shape. And he offers to pay I would always you let him insist on going home no I would offer and then hope that he would. And then I would pay the next day it's so comfy. But Lenny Obama gave us his this is on something else by the way Christmas 1st was if you're doing something this weekend and you haven't told us about it we try to mention all the festivals and faires his gram from our company Graham going to tell us about. Good morning I mean yes we've got our Christmas Tree Festival tonight starting tonight I'm stuffed in Sunday. From 6 o'clock tonight so knowing o'clock tonight tomorrow. And I am so 5 pm and then on Sunday it's from 1 o'clock until 330 which is followed 4 o'clock with a Christian goal so much detail here gravel never heard so much detail in a funk or think now just tell us exactly where that where is it again give me the exact location write it in a village called Ambrose don't which is based on. Mary's the Virgin church Ambrose then yes and the ladies every year they decorate the tree there's so many trees and I think different people you can sponsor a tree can you buy trees Graham if you haven't got your tree yet you can buy one pair. Thing in Bali the at the end of the festival I believe I'm not a labor central and I'm just to take us back Granted out discussion about millennial behavior and sexes to behave and so on. You would expect would you a woman to carry the train back to the car not the man just to try to have a shoulder and carry it out to the can I have no doubt be maybe you know almost. You know what I think we're going for your grammar was last year our system was to carry the tree about saying yeah sure they are all you care about right now why not it's a 14 month. Travel. But if you're not in front of a screen you can hear it on the b.b.c. On b.b.c. Radio set the scene from 8 with my colleague Adrian Goldberg in agents taking your calls afterwards until 11 o'clock that's later tonight right here all right it's 817 story of a man from Bambery who's paying it forward this Christmas the lovely idea of giving something back when Putin was 7 years old growing up in Romania he received a shoe box one day in the post I don't know where full of gifts and I. By children he didn't know children from here he's now 24 years old and he's doing the same for others through something called Operation Christmas Child to speak about don't ask him what it was like growing up in Romania so remain It was really nice to me I remember my childhood was would go to school come home from school get changed go outside and play with all our friends and everyone to who lived there on the street and yeah it was a very very nice environment I'd say as in. Giving us a good. Childhood kind of experience and then you received one of these shoe boxes so how old were you when you receive this. I believe it was around 7 years old when our see the shoe box this was at school it was a Christian school and it was around Christmas time and it was a very special moment for me I don't remember anything I received in shoe box but I do remember the event itself and their environment and the spirit the Christmas spirit that was and are Vironment so you can't remember a single thing that was inside it no I'm afraid. My partner received one as well and she can remember she had like. This princess shaped shampoo you know dollar and dollar she had inside it but I myself can't remember anything I received in my shoe box I'm afraid but you know that's some that's a memory that many children will have and that you remember the wrapping rather Sometimes in the box rather than the actual gift itself it was the experience of being given something which is really interesting that stayed with the obviously that idea that you'd receive something from a stranger Yeah yeah of course I mean the biggest thing that stayed with me is just seeing all my friends I went to school would take in the shoe boxes there receive them running around and tearing all the Christmas for wrapping open and looking inside and wonder. And joy on their faces as they looked at the toys in the presence they received what brought you over here how did you end up living where you are now and Bamber So it was mainly my my parents' courage my mother's bravery to move to the u.k. 1st she came on her own. They wanted to provide us with a better life a better future and that's what they did you know 1st my mother came then my father and then eventually they came for me and my sister and we came here started school so I was in private school she was in secondary school and yeah. We've got better at a future because of that now we're involved in Operation Christmas Child with the shoe boxes again life has turned a full circle why did you want to get involved. Well when we were at school my my mother received a leaflet I don't remember she got it from maybe was from the church. She reminded us it was a Persian Christmas card leaflet to pack a shoe box shame on us that we received shoe boxes and then told us to make one so we did made make one that year and then as we grew up and we started work in our parents taught us to give 10 percent of earnings away and I decided to give mine to make a shoe boxes one year that's what I did I was saving money and I managed to make $47.00 shoe boxes out of 50 and that's that's how the ball got rolling and they got in touch with me to do some volunteering for them so what goes in the shoe box is now there and what sort of things are actually going inside them so this year there's been a few changes things because of customs we're not allowed to put toothpaste or any sweets and because they now struggle with all the ingredients and struggles getting through but we put anything in there from tollways deflated footballs. Hats gloves toothbrushes books crayons anything that a child with Enjoy your something that would spark their imagination that's about to appear to talk about to the shoe boxes that he's now filling up early aspect in that call his project director fellow operation a Christmas Child He says this is a project the ready makes a difference I'm thrilled to have in this pulse of all homes a community in the u.k. And he very much focus on the group experience the community gathering oversees to open the boxes together and that's very much what we encourage is Operation Christmas Child a local church legacy putting on these events where the young people sing songs like play games the strongest sketches and it's like a carol service cost with the Christmas party Well his 1st paragraph his head teacher some areas infant school and what a morning Sarah children are involved in this than a good morning yes they all are here it's in there is our children and the 15 gaging in the family the sheeple project so many is and do they enjoy it what makes a special father. They absolutely love it I think sometimes and women who go people think that youngest children really enjoy receiving gifts and they are free to but they they also love sharing and actually creating their own sheeple says and filling them with special things knowing that they can make a difference the children living in Gage with us how it is that they know where they are going to serenade or where the shoe box is being sent. Yes absolutely and before the children are seated she boxes we actually have an assembly which actually shares with the children. Behind their feeling as she boxes and whether I will hasten stories about differences. It's a lovely idea what sort of stuff to I put in them do you sometimes have to go through and say that's inappropriate. Well you know children a very good we can see the project that we were create provide parents with Lisa with the things that can go into them but often children really like to personalize them and they're putting perhaps a little a photograph of. Some of them even really like you were gay the whole way and actually decorate the wrapping paper that was lovely thanks very much Sarah Good luck nice to talk to you have a lovely Christmas Sarah Greer head teacher of some Marys in France when I say 20 for just a diary note for you this time Monday's some big news if you were the Oxford half marathon earlier in the A's seems a long time ago now my knee hasn't been right since.
