Ready enough to model a right that you're talking today here a couple of guys who got to do just that. That this could be very very well it will be very very interesting in all kinds of levels but into going to see if we can split them up as well. So Steve Aldridge is here who runs his own business morning Steve. Foster who's on the home office here t.v. Producer actor and many more things besides Good morning Your word is used I was just asking you if you've got a good analogy for the whole kind of because we're not going to talk about bricks in any kind of great detail because I get the feeling lot of people are sick to death of it and also it's been rumbling on for quite some time but you had a very good analogy for it so we've used a mark Well it was just sort of trying to I was trying to think about it a slightly different way because you know there's always at least one other side every story as we know it we don't always want to pay attention to it it always we don't know is this dirt but there always is so I was trying to think about this morning over the weekend thinking that you know what let's just not keep the M.P.'s completely about the fact that they won't exist and they caught up together they can't have a consensus did he didn't he could it be if we think about it as if you know what we found our own you were trolling along you're looking for your dream house we found our dream house how fabulous and we all are we want to buy it and all family says yes yes yes yes yes the only difficulty with it is that the dream house is in a crime ridden area it doesn't have a roof actually there's no detail that anybody's giving us about it the state agent what for whatever reason will give us any details that we did if there's any electricity we don't know if there's any water to it or gas or anything like that but even if it's got a kitchen plus it has a lot of garden and I wanted my 8 children to have a garden area that's part of the dream house thing plus you know it's it's got rotten books it might. Have to dry rot but he noted it's a house it's our dream house every tells us so let's try to get into it and we won't worry about it a deal we're in there and it's probably about our eyes and ears so I think people to sort of think of it like that and is it therefore should we do. Buyers anyway should be going to a crumbling dream house and worry about it afterwards and I think that there's a part of that to do with this I do think and piece of being you know blindly being obstructive I think there's genuine for a lot of them all of them there's genuine concerns that they really are fighting for for the country for their constituents and so on and all that was so totally fed up with it and I'm sure they are too is that any real reason to say never mind a lot let's just do it anyway instead of trying to build in safety net stew to see what I'm like well you know that was a good analogy. To it so that's they feel like well are they saw their Me being able to get a word in edge was thankful that. I think I think from our perspective I think people are fed up with it I think some of the some of the M.P.'s in the parties have been quite disingenuous in the way that they're approaching this a case is about blocking Brecht's it is not about coming to an agreement. I think you could come up with the best agreement in the world there would still be people that would be b.n.c. It and that reflects that reflects the vote but there was a vote you know we call I voted 2 to remain. I can understand now that the we voted to leave and I think we've got to get it done and this is the 1st part I think where people are misunderstanding that this is the 1st part of last this is you know this is just the agreement that we are going to leave the European Union we've got 2 years of negotiation to put all the fine print into place. So from our perspective I just think you know let's just get the stage over with so that we are leaving the European Union and then we can negotiate exactly where we want to be for the best of everybody. But you say that if I can just say well I know I got a. Problem I think I just wanted to come in on that point because I think I understand exactly understand all that but equally if we don't get the outline of the agreement right which is what we try to do before we go to negotiate we are never going to get there well this is the best of it you see the best of it but I can only ask you a line in the sun somewhere and go let's just get this bit over and done with and then we will start with the proper negotiate the other trouble is of course as we know that even some of the things have been changed in this new agreement that Boris Johnson has has come in and waved about us saying it's marvelous marvelous is the trouble is that some of the details in the in the changes are worse than they were in the May princes understand the the rights for workers and so on unless detailed what can be offered and what they should expect that it was in the May agreement so I don't think we should and this I think you know we all possessed of course by this the backstop which is now now front stop but there are other things and one curious thing that I heard quite a long time ago and it was much again you see Mark is the fact that there is an issue to do with multi if you don't mind because right motor you see rightly what we're going to move now rightly or wrongly whatever one thinks it is part of British protectorate or do you so it is on draw control now the only way Spain would sign the previous agreement with all agreement Mrs Maise was that if they had to. Say in everything to do with Malta Now how does that come from it's got nothing to do with Spain the next most are not you see here alter No I think Small Talk is it when they want to talk I don't do you but what you say but maybe talk about it but there isn't. Much you brought it came up quite a while ago quite you want to get under the collar you forgotten about all drops dramatically so it might appear yes but there are other issues what I'm trying to say whereby we have given up whatever sort of sovereignty not that we whether we should have it is another matter but there is usage of culture we just said yes Spain of course you could have all the say you like now that will upset a lot of people in itself you know never mind front and back stop oh my goodness you see I'm breathing I'm already a Brit I just had a Texan someone say morning Mark I think we should appoint no lemons this breaks it minister he was always able to sort out. Good might have heard that once or twice in the last 3 and a half years dead years we get fights All right thank you so I have to say we weren't going to talk about brakes at that much we just have you know sort of the biggest thing in the news at the moment so thank you brainless and Stapleford for that one just before the headlines there are other things going on we're going to spend a bit of time talking about that royals and all but I know Steve you were king to mention the rock because it was a triumphant times for England and Wales at the weekend I think we had a fantastic weekend of. We watched all of the matches and it kind of struck me I think at the beginning of the Wales much. Was when one of the players went off within within seconds of the much thought seeing as a blood replacement and minutes later came back on with a with a bandage around his head and continued playing and I was just thinking that if that had probably been a Premiership footballer that they would have been in intensive care for at least 2 weeks. Not playing for possibly 6 months and there would have been a number of claims and it was. Just the difference of. The 2 sports that that from the rugby perspective is this respect on the picture that you know when there's a decision made and it goes against you this very politely where the players all the captain or walk up to the referee and say Excuse me sir is Will what is the basis of that decision and the referee will say it's my decision and that's it that's the end of it yeah there's no argument you know hissy fits. And it just makes you know for a really good kind of sporting event I mean brutal some of those some of the matches that we watch certainly the South Africa are in Japan. Was an absolutely brutal match but you know it's the violence if you like is on the pitch and all of the crowds are together everybody just appreciates the game I've been to internationals where. We've been down at the Millennium Stadium watching England Wales and you're all together you're all the England fans in the Wales fans and if England score a good try there's a lot of bands but is it also polite applause for the for the beauty of the sport. Can we do it. Because it's New Zealand next is it I think I think I said any final trick we've done it we've done it before. I think that the thing with New Zealand is that they can change their game plan at will we tend to have a game plan and we have to stick to it. The All Blacks will change and the speed and the they control the match a lot better than we do but I'd like to think fingers crossed that it could be a Wales England final Hansie that's what we have got ready Jones and his experience on the other side of the world with obviously with the Australian deans and with with the All Blacks and his knowledge of those teams I think will help us I certainly do and so that should be a good plus for us as well I think we will see we all say alright plenty more to come with Ainslie and Steve and your added into the mix of course is going to happen is not the headlines now on b.b.c. Radio not in the government is hoping to get another meaningful vote on expects a deal later on research you say data from Nottingham and 8 other cities show spikes in air pollution trigger hundreds of heart attacks strokes and asked Mr x. And the juke and trace of Sussex have spoken of their individual struggles and unhappiness since their marriage in the i.t.v. I.t.v. Documentary and we'll talk about that just a wee while so a little bit cloudy to start the day for some sunshine coming through highs of 13 degrees staying dry with periods of clear sky and some cloud at times lows of 5 Celsius overnight tonight. Was all moving a lot better now actually on the m one southbound on I just off the most part junction $24.00 mains really Slifer traffic heading towards Darby on the a 50 long keys that westbound from Castle Donington to which it's looking a little busier as well through on a long cross street tempi lights in place there for the rest of the week and mind that a bus is orange 35 in turquoise 79 an hour being diverted due to the works taking place today at the Broxtowe la. Tonight is now closed until 4 o'clock it's looking quite busy. But nice and quiet. On. So they later in the show we are. Seeing some of the 10 hole those tickets are selling very nicely by the way we've got an extra addition to the bill someone who while some of the world's greatest stage. She's coming I should be on the show just after 10 o'clock. That's the gap in a town called malices b.b.c. Radio last year so not surprising they have to go talking about breaks after saying that we wouldn't talk about brags about it he's sort of the big thing at the moment so you can't really avoid it safer with me by the way and Gene in Hope Mills says we ought to take this deal and see how we are after 2 years let's get it done I've heard that somewhere before recently let's get back sit down I suppose the thing is that a lot of people are saying this plays into what 8 of us a few months ago and a lot of M.P.'s are saying is well he's just like well you know let's see what this deal actually show way because we haven't seen the detail of it and that's what the M.P.'s are asking for over the next few days we shall see Rodney but what is the question needs to be answered before you jump in Otherwise it's the cart before the horse. You need to confront what's in front of you is a real threat the u.k. Could be broken up with Scotland and Northern Ireland breaking away again that's what a lot of other people are saying as well but I get equally there is a lot of impatience around of people saying look through you know a few years you've had enough time by now surely we'll see we'll bring the latest of course as today goes on and tell you more about the whole thing a little later in the show now one of the other big stories around today is the royal story in Prince Harry's admitted he has his good and bad days with his brother William but he's denied reports of a rift between the bases in an i.t.v. Documentary Harry and making an African journey in which he also said he and William are now on different paths I think you can take that phrase in lots of different ways. So well partly how do you see this and also it does beg the question of how you get on with your siblings now I know ange the you're an only child are you afraid I'm a spoiled only child. But it's not something that I suppose I can I can. Immediately and personally I have that experience. But. I suppose I've not missed what I haven't had I been very very lucky in have grown up but. I think that you know people make a big deal out of these things but actually isn't that common isn't sibling either rivalry or you get old particular of an age as you're growing up when there's an age gap whether it's little or large where in fact oddly enough my father thank you was one of 6 and he was the eldest of the gang and my uncle Archie was the youngest and there were 20 years between and oddly enough he got on best really with without a lot you with that huge age gap and sometimes when you've got a bigger age gap we've got generations of between maybe that. Especially you know when you are close as of course William and Harry are you think they're going to be the closest but but actually and they're bound to go different past as well because of course William is going to be Johnny King one day so that's one path a completely different Harry has got much more freedom so he can travel much more his own path actually and create his own Korea and so on and so on and it makes complete sense doesn't mean there's each of the stories it doesn't mean it's a real problem they're just on different pas they're very busy they've both got families now and so they don't really need help all the time and I imagine Steve will attest I think that siblings don't always agree he has a little well if she's a big sister she's a big 4 years old of the main. We've never really seen art. But they now live in Australia and I think the gap actually just accentuates the whole problems of illness but and it's miscommunication and it did it did make me think when you look at the. Situation that. Could you imagine a look at thinking about with a relationship with my sister if millions of people have been commenting not on that on a daily basis I would imagine one of us would probably not be here now and the other one would be in a fit of massive depression and I think they do live their lives in the Gulf wishbone we expect them to be normal told normal human beings when they are normal human beings and have sibling rivalries that's wrong if they kind of close the doors it should be open to everybody I think they're in a completely lose lose situation. And I think some of it is quite dangerous are saying too easy last night you couldn't you couldn't see that Harry is libel to go you know well done with this I'm going to go and live in Africa I'm going to do my charity we're quite happy with and actually can see in current of dropping out of the of the royal family and let them get on with it which was a real shame because I think a lot of people like him and Megan actually for a for what they stand for and also that. Harry I think is a bit of a maverick and I think people like that he's a little bit different he's very good at the public facing role so being in the meeting then the media have got to get off his back. We tend to believe everything we read and certainly with social media now as well that everybody's got an opinion and on social media I think that the opinions that people give are not wouldn't be the opinions that they give to the facts. And that must be massively difficult especially for Magen where she's come into this. Completely unprepared by the sounds of it well and she comes from a celebrity background exactly so you would have thought that she would have some couple obviously it's been a shock to her of how negative a lot of the press has been a snake she pretty much said that the good news doesn't sell newspapers no that's wrong and this whole thing of a rift and I think you're quite right actually that you know William is not long got got married and then had a child and naturally when a young family comes along your more devoted to that perhaps less to your bigger wider family yes exactly and it could also be and obviously we just don't know but it could also be that William has also got have an overview because of where his future lies and he doesn't want. It's used to come up between he and Harry in of Harry's behavior a sense it's going to take away a little bit from William where he will have to deal with what's going on with all the members of the family instead of doing what he thinks is important because people keep asking about what's happening with Harry make it so it's a very difficult Goldfield fishbowl to be in I think to be fair and I think that really they are in a bit of a no win and I think I will say it's a beast to try and compare for instance you can't really compare their lifestyle and the life they live with mostly anybody else frankly. And so I think it's also very mean when. They were asked and they responded honestly they were also has been you know and as he said we want to be honest about it was a marvelous thank you and received a little bit every jolly thing and it's lovely and everybody's love it that's just ridiculous to expect that so we want them to be honest with us and they want money they want money and people now saying oh they just money they were privileged lifestyle they were money they were all this carry on but it comes at quite a different price to anybody else you know I think a lot of this is one of us is not true I think that would be the difficult but well that's the truth when everything's being put out to 90 percent of it is not true it must be soul destroying. And you cannot stand up and say that's not true and that's what he's done now Harry's kind of gone for the newspapers are. Actually going to start listening largely because that isn't going to be a lawyer says this is an acceptable but also she made a good point I think and I think that's a maybe you can't expect that but hopefully everybody can appreciate a point where she said Yes you know you'd expect things come up people make things up it's not true what she was hoping I She leapt into this whole family was that things would be fair that they would be some sort of fair she shots but all the pot shots have been unfair and a lot of the Montreux and I think it's very difficult to come back and of course they don't have the platform really to come back and say don't do that you know to shout back they've got to be very careful they say at all times yes and I think we can all hopefully try and appreciate very nearly agree with her did I think for. Some you all royals and also sibling rivalry let me know not. Afraid to text. Because of a. Cheesy. Reasons or believed to be. Too few. To be. Curious why are actually moving pictures. Of you all and all in a boat with. Mom any object. School song if you're just. Going to. You. Have to see to. Go to be I know my beautiful. View. To judge as a bit of past on b.b.c. Radio and ask him Stephen Ainslie with me and they are still together if you are so far so good. That the still time. So even talking about a little bit a little bad breaks it also the the royal story which is rumbling on today this is an interesting interesting thing Channel 4 has announced plans to launch its 1st many pools policy to support its employees it means that female staff will have access to flexible working arrangements unpaid leave if they feel unwell or unable to work private cool and quiet work spaces also offer to ensure that symptoms aren't worsened by employees work environments as well such. Well firstly not least as a woman but also someone that works in this media business what it would you think about I think if you can make it work in a sensible way and people take it so to see. This is something to embrace I think it's a tremendous thing particularly now every business has got its pressures and so on and difficulties but I do think I do think the media of your in amongst and certainly making programmes series reality show all the issues they are it is you just sort of I can't tell you what it was a tricky business it could be and actually you sometimes you do need even if it's 4 in the morning and you who I knew haven't slept for 3 days of the you sometimes need a bit of a quiet space and so and so it's a it is actually quite a very pressurized industry where you may split equally will know what they're getting into they do but you know you say this like a high is to say to people I love the contributors who are coming on and they're just absolutely focused on the idea that this is what this is what I want to do I want to come on and be in a house and be amongst other people and do this experiment and you try to say them do you really understand what this could mean to you when you leave diddly diddly dee Oh yea years be 55 if I just what they really want is just they want the fame because they can think it's going to be wonderful it's going to bring them a wonderful happy life starts if they don't really listen so then they have to find out for themselves so actually what this is trying to do is to protect Why not employers having something written down that sort of protects their employees a bit more than thinking you have to struggle on no matter what happens you have to struggle yes I know I'm going to pressurize business and that could be whatever the businesses to be honest to this particular one that all about is just that it's right up there for everyone to see so that's why it's doubly pressurised because everyone will again as we don't decide whether it's a good job you Don or a bad job and everybody in the country will decide because you know so you're under that pressure so I think to have a little cool space is a lot of companies are very good at that now to be fair at the big broadcast as they do consider I thing. Quite rightly. Places where people can go and have a moment or just to have a breather or whatever it is so if this this adds to that I think it can be good to reflect I don't know what it's like as an employer because let's say I was going to stay here stay there because you run your own business you know would you think about bringing some of the same Yeah I think there's 2 issues here I think business is changing whereas people used to go into a business and have a career and they could like they could be would businesses for 5101520 years you then get to know people and you get to know the real person so obviously if these changes in that you identify there's something wrong when people are only with you for a couple of years you don't you know you don't identify in those changes I think the other one is communication I think it's remarkably difficult it's difficult for men to talk about mental issues and health issues it's even more difficult I think for women to talk to male bosses about those sort of issues. It's like you know the mailman appalls all the midlife crisis you know we can instantly spot it was a Harley Davidson over or in a car park so yeah we've got that is our city goes through a midlife crisis I think with a. With a female employee that can be construed as being moody because he's not being communicated if you know that in that it's. A man appalls or health issue yes you can say great you know somebody phones militants need to work from home for the next couple of days if you're getting the work done I mean I've got people working all over the world of people in Ukraine in Thailand working remotely and it all works fine and I think that's the way that the workplace is going now that people don't need to be sat in a desk in an office. If the can and if the work's being done that far and so I would I would be all in favor of you know that sort of being bought into the workplace that you know it's about people at the end of the day you know it's not about employees it's about people and we all have different things. Happening in our lives I think also if I may say so there is a difficulty which which I hopefully policies like this if they're there and that and that they're written in will help this in that I think there is also a. A difficulty for people is Steve says but to come forward I remember being in a company where it was a genuine thing we will call notice saying Please tell us if you think we're a good employer and tell us what you think about your working situation and I'm sure it was a genuine thing that they were asking us who we all scuttled out into the corridor or was anybody actually all this because what if they see that you said actually censored or you know that you said anything negative that you would immediately then that would be a black mark against you so it's so not over which is terrible really we all of greed free in the morning that you know. We just went we were all religion should all just be fabulous So I think it's very difficult you know employers if they're truck trying to do these these things which are positive steps I think for everybody's wellbeing is a marvelous thing it's just we as a nation perhaps just as a pea peoples all of the world probably difficulty just making it that it is Ok to say yes I'm going to fill this form and I'm going to say I'm having such trouble and a little later and it doesn't seem like a week or then never employ you again particularly in season where you're there for 2 years or you're there for shortish time you get well can't say because I'll never have me back or me now or whatever it is a very different lawyer it's an employer that's about not asking questions that you don't want the answer to yet you got to go to have an environment that people can be open you know and that you take that you've got on board and underdress it and and that's that's part of the process that if you say something or somebody says something and nothing's done about. Not saying anything at all and that you actually do is instigate than an environment within your business. It's a waste of time saying anything because nothing's going to happen if you got out where people can come and be open you've also got to follow through on that and make sure that things are put in place to manage them all right now. Royals will get to those in the moment I want to talk about kissing as well I think for we don't know yes that's right but a basic 1st. Something just between you and me. When I was finally trained. Every word is perfect as it can be. In the south. With me. Let me. Fall. Speak to. Radio and read out some of the comments from you to do with the royals and siblings as well very soon Ainslie and Steve have been here provoking that conversation and we talked about cracks in there and the many pores just now as well and employees and kissing as well this goes back to the royals as well because Diana and Charles wedding day smooch voted the country's most memorable case followed by William and Kate I'm not sure what the poll was off because like I can't think of any kiss kiss that I see from other people there was a couple once on a bus when I was coming up from. A rite of snog I was quite memorable so I don't know maybe was t.v. Cases who knows now already are I hear from a little to keep. You perhaps have slightly different views on public display displays of affection would I be right. Should I not. Feel free to say anything I'm it's a messy business. Really should not be taken in that I can in public places that I use my own thing which I really disagree with. Insist on kissing me and I'm very public place and. You know it just amaze me a lot because I was just say that for me every case with Steve is memorable but take it with the parties because he said he made me laugh we've just been to Australia for a night just so you do that you do it just to warn you well I do really because we freeze we just been to Australia because we have family mostly all is well thank God. She came home and so it was without me Whitney said already looking forward to seeing you which is lovely to hear and said Yes we look at what you did. And so I arrive at the airport and I rush up to him and it's 6 o'clock the morning how he's pretty costly and I get. Public public. I feel I we were almost out of time. Could turn into a bit of a counseling thing. Oh my Obviously my most memorable case was the 1st one when I. Can rightly point. Out quit while the getting's good was right out you had a right to see the parody Thank you I have a good week I see more to come this morning including the singing action film like . Stories. Like. B.b.c. Radio.
