Really very proud of you smell Well honestly it's been amazing just being biased well to go about and I'm so proud of you and given her a hug she's got to really pull it off I'm no She's been working really hard on his own in all of those just. Really looking forward and I'm really proud of. Well girl became the presenter of a new evening show and she said this morning. Hello let me say that again you know what my or my response now is just like it was before I'm just struggling to hold back tears honestly I listened listening back to that makes me feel so emotional. I've got butterflies in my ballet like I did just before you announced it and it's just so trippy Sara because you were the one and I was there and I was stood opposite you then and I'm selfish that you now it's really lost our Jake it's very emotional it's. Wiping away tears in the same box that I really really especially when I listen to my brother. Love to you daddy's dead and their route what it meant to them a lot yeah yeah I think be honest with you I think my DOT didn't really understand it well didn't he want you to be an accountant and get a proper job he didn't want me to be an accountant it was more my choice to have a backup plan when it came to getting into an industry like broadcasting so the accountancy thing sort of came from May but then it just didn't feel right so I went to university to see if there was anything else that I enjoyed as much as presented in acting and I wasn and so that's why I rejected that job in accountancy and it's literally it was like retail to radio because I then worked in retail for 6 months trying to farm my feet and find out how to get into the industry and then found out about the open auditions what was then on top the day before and it literally went from retail to radio there was no dropping a career guaranteed really like accountancy Yeah it is but you know if something doesn't feel right then just don't do it and it can be. Don't get me wrong it was really daunting because I didn't have a plan. But I knew that if I wanted to get back into accountancy or wanted to go into any of those industries that. When I was a university than a code and I set that foundation to be able to do that so you just have to have a sense of self belief and sometimes you've just got to go with that instincts and thank thank goodness I did you know has it been them this last year bonkers ridiculous incredible it was funny because in my final interview for the job I was asked where do you see yourself in 12 months time and I've never had an open to that point I hadn't thought about where I could potentially be in 12 months time and in the actual interview I got really emotional I started crying I'm really good at crying anyway. And now I'm looking back just in the 12 months on and. It's changed my life entirely is all I can say and there's things that have happened that I didn't expect to happen whether that be working in radio whether it be doing shows for the stations even shows different shows on B.B.C. Radio knotting in which has been an incredible experience and B.B.C. Radio knowing it has given me so many opportunities and that's one. Of the direct address to medical research. Yeah I went to the age of network and B.B.C. Radio one Xtra did a show for inside out in East Middleton's the B.B.C. One didn't expect any of that to happen and I think that's the thing with this opportunity is that this is not just an opportunity for you to get your own show on B.B.C. Radio Nottingham this is an opportunity for you to join the B.B.C. And there is so much to this organization it's unbelievable you know so yeah like I said it would change your life entirely and and give you opportunities that you can only dream of. I'm so places what's how well for you I really am because we spoke to a few people in the industry when we started this because we're going to find someone in this way with an open auditions people said that you can't do that it takes yes it takes years to develop your craft these are well known I had such Lee said this you can't you just wonder interest you do it but you have a maybe that's been your success such as you are very much his self on the radio Yeah I think you've got to be a self same time I've had immense amount of amounts of poor around me so I can't say that yeah you know I became a writer present overnight and I was great Absolutely not like the support system here not sing in was unbelievable and I have to give credit to that to the managers heads of the producers here we didn't have very long to turn around the shows and to graft though didn't you this is not easy is a no is hard work is it is absolutely hard work because you are present in the show but potentially also producing the show as well which means it's also down to you to make sure that you keep an air on the ground and finding out what's going on in knowing him but at the same time not so excited because the stuff that you know about. This is amazing and everybody else needs to know about it and that's incredible you know the people that you know whether it be on a personal level stuff that you discover and knowing him and it's even the one from not seeing him I discovered starring much more about not seeing him through this job and that was a pleasure and privilege so what do you get all again but which I'll tell you about in just a moment but what's next for you summer what's next I'm a what's the day's a bit of a bunk his day because I'm here this morning and I'm getting in the car and I'm driving down the A 46 because I am launching my 1st B.B.C. Radio Leicester on drive time co-presenting with Jimmy Coppin so he used to actually produce Chris Evans on Radio 2 so he's a producer at heart and it's 2 of those I've got into present and we're launching our new show between 4 and 6 and I wish you well I really. And it's been fantastic to see your progress over over this year it's been staggering so well done and thank you Irish and summer if you'd like to do something similar we are running it again it's called New Voices 29 T. And all you need to do is turn up and tell a story in 60 seconds is happening on the 28th of September they'll be a panel of judges and on offer just like the mayor you will receive if you're if you end up being the successful applicant a 12 month contract to produce and present a show on B.B.C. Radio 5 nights a week we wish you well you'll hear lots more about it on B.B.C. Radio not again but the date is happening at metronome in Nottingham is the 28th of September. Well there along this morning for the A 52 for traffic heading towards against Iran about its decent accent so close the inside lane as you head from the struggle thought right towards the camps around about itself so that's what's called no skis and Santa fetching traffic heading north 3 toilets in as well it's crawling as well only a $50.00 to $1.00 Clifton Boulevard in the week wrapped Island towards notting a night as it is now heading into the city on the A 453 A long remembrance way down towards the Crusader Island a $52.00 Darby road striking out of the brown Qur'an about down towards a Q M C and there are long queues this morning heading to Rufford on the A 614 old Rufford road it's broken down vehicle not far from that sort of rough it up in the rows cottage it's partially blocking the carriage way there and that's what's called NOS keys now in both directions as you had past rough that country. And slur against you Ravens had only a 16 month old right now because the temple lights at the main road junctions that's affecting traffic from Papa wake up to the launch from Crossroads there along the south bend on the M one this morning at Keystone 26 now the I 610 down towards trial services and just off the most white junction 24 it's really slow this morning heading east on the A 50 heading 3 Casa Donington. Radio. Good morning so you are hearing this morning that Snickers is reverting to marathon so 30 years ago changed its name from Marathon to Snickers and decided for the nostalgia factor for those people who still remember it you can buy the chocolate bar with nuts and caramel in the shops as Marathe and so were other things do you still refer to by that old name so so far we've heard about the glazed else Colin Bell brought which which since it was glazed bells been have been part and blue coat beach jacking we still call that playstyle come what May 1 call stadium Alan still calls it failed no matter what they decide to advertise with the name of the stadium pal A Did down is called Prism now but I still call it the palace jamming Gatling can from right Park still calls the radio the wireless Actually I sometimes do that this is a good one Mike in Carrington my new wife still occasionally refers to me by her access. Starburst SOCOM starburst call the mobile fruits and T.V. Series are never citizens Thank you Luke steadfast in Bell per 106783434 What do you insist on calling by its former name even their body else has moved on and you want triple 3 Start a message with the word not to say. B.B.C. Radio announcing in. Contrast 8 something new it has been nominated for a highly prestigious international award So what about in Newark so spectacular Rebecca Dixon has been there this morning to ask people what they think it might be. The Castle there's a civil war center well in New York has been nominated for an international award town center or something to do with the towns and it has it's been awarded a lot of money isn't it you're pointing at the huge building on the market square marketplace you think that's what's been nominated for an international award are without something to do they've been they've been allotted a lot of money to reinvest in the whole town. Well there all good ideas and you probably would have guessed it is actually the sewer system in New York yeah that's up for the award the people's choice you can actually vote on this it's like X. Factor and it's from the Institute of Civil Engineers and the thing is it might need a few nukes or system because it's up against a lot of top projects including a lot Center in New York. Like times of April fool and a bridge in Hong Kong 60000000 pounds have been spent upgrading the ancient Syria in Iraq which was prone to flooding so it is important stuff here is lend Brady because before work began in 2070 years of a nightmare with her beauty parlor where the cellar was flooded with rule sewage it was nasty It was awful it was dark obviously it was dank it was really smelly and nasty had come up backed up from the trains and I last week I was doing a treatment and I just saw somebody trying to maneuver and the house next to me and it was from the truck you know all of a sudden I think I might vote suddenly seems very important indeed Well Tim Sawyer is from 7 trends and he is lead project manager on the Newark work good morning. Good morning so happy started to get this nomination. Liam I never expect to get this far so and us against some pretty hot competition on your. Number of projects we were up against and on other projects of this term projects been shortlisted this award there wart to get you have to be nominated by your local region of the institution of civil engineers so it's not just something you can enter so we actually won a local award there it's middlings regional merit toward. And on the strength of his will in the program we got put forward to the to the People's Choice Awards I just have a look at some of the other. Anders there's a footbridge in Telford which is over in is all right but there's another bridge called the Northern spire I think that's in the northeast now Malik's fantastic source of suspension bridge and then there's an art center in New York what do you think your chances are Tim. Other Not a bad lot like we got a good chance the problem that we have with a lot of what we do is at the end of the day it is not love it saying there's no fantastic big bridge to see in the what we only sees a sort of model covering the road because we see this is kind of underground. So why it is special and why is it worthy of an art. We did a lot of work in the sewer system was very much under capacity so we really we did a lot maybe tunneling work on the chair and we built a tunnel from the north of the town right down to the south 2 will begin of to drive on through while we have dome but you know it was a major upgrade of the sewer system so it was some maintenance civil engineering that we did put us think the other thing that we've been recognized. Interaction we had with the local public and stakeholders in the town so when we 1st looked at what we needed to do we got a team of people together local stakeholders undisclosed what we were needing to do and whilst people might think that we had quite an impact on the town when we 1st put our plans together we were looking at 18 months worth of road closures in and around the bog Castle North Korea area of Newark and from discussions with Lycos who actually took them to create a sudden saying weeks where we want system in the town so we see that stakeholder engagement understanding the problems of the town that we actually changed our plans and I think it's things like that that we've been recognized for it's pretty quite something how did you get from 18 months of road closures to start with David using it to see if 17 weeks of just a one my system but we did it by increasing the amount to tooling we were doing or in the town and changing the time to all that we were doing so we actually built a tool which was bigger than what we really needed but by using the different tunneling technique we were able to go to one end of the term to deal that without really needing much impact to surface it's like Cross right now. Except that. It's the same same sort of tooling certainly used on cross rail in some start way now and it's quite commonplace in London but not in this part of the world really did the machines have names. Yeah we got the local schools to name 2 of the machines and then we had a public vote for the big machine and called in the on. The 1st machine we know it was the MT mole that was after the children a man school with an odd one called we call bluster which was which was done by another school and then the main trouble was called siege break so. Oh I like that we should win for those names alone great I'm certainly going to vote for you Do you think I hope so so I'd like to think that people there's an opportunity for the people in Europe to say thank you for the work that we don't you know there's a about a 1000 people who used to be at risk of through a flood in who out flew now will never have that problem again and we were great at the water supply knew it well we've been there as well so make sure we can continue to wholesome water to everyone in Newark is demanding Chrysis. Really know if people could vote you can vote on the institution of civil engineers website that's on I see a dot argy dot You K. . And then fell down but I have come down but I don't know why for they just put these middlings Let's put these little is up there on the map I don't get confused because there is actually another Semaj project down south you don't want to go yeah there. That would be but thank you Tim good to talk to Tim So he was from Traverse 7 Trenton he was lead project manager on the set scheme nominated for the People's Choice Award at the Institute of Civil Engineers and he was the man in charge of a machine called wiggle Blaster and another one called siege breaking. E.C. Radio singing. And so more thoughts on things that you still call by their names Helen in crop Well Bishop John Lewis Well all. Bells unimproved go and there's pictures of the golden toilets in some of the newspapers today and quotes from Dominic half from bland I'm saying that you could put you could purchase a timeslot to go and see it and you get 3 minutes and there are many says you could fully perform on it if you want but most people couldn't couldn't time it that way so they just took selfies instead all the details on the golden toilets making the news today. Where we're now hearing of problems this morning in something Nashville for the new book road apparently being closed between sheep wash lane in the code and the Kirby Kirkby Folly Road sorry after next an area that's what's called a head into and out a certain Nashville Nichols to add to that of course she got the pleasure of the Kirkby road as well that's causing congestion anyway along the A 38 King's Road East it's still looking slow as well heading to Ravens head on the A 60 Mansfield Road now because by the ongoing work that the main road junction and still a little heavy heading through rough it on the A 614 old Rufford road I think that break down are not far. Radio nothing I'm. So Rich is here with the forecast. Hello hello who don't know why I thought it was really I thought Assange it did night so that was a bit of a disappointment waking up to the right this morning how we would have it now not quite. So things will gradually get a little bit dry as we make our way through the course of this morning there's still some spells of rain around that minute they could take it could take a while for that to clear and it looks like the cloud could take a while to clear as well as we make our way towards the softer New You think certainly by the end of today we should see the emergence of some sunshine but it does depend on how quickly or how gradual that clear that cloud clearance is temperatures get up to about 17 degrees Celsius today looks like we're probably going to have some much cooler fresher conditions in comparison to the weekend as you make our way into tonight it could have some late sun shone through this evening temperatures dropping down to 7 degrees Celsius because we'll have some drawing clear conditions overnight so it's likely to be a chilly start to the day but we should have some sunshine to start Tuesday facts tomorrow is looking like a pretty sunny day with some cloud about 6 times and temperatures slightly higher 18 degrees Celsius and that pretty much starts a spell of some settled weather through this week actually we could see highs of up to 2021 degree Celsius by Friday OK Wow that's really quite warm isn't Thanks very much Rich for the forecast you know you have to mention the golden toilet and the floodgates then open for people to get in touch this is the theft of the golden toilet from London Palace it's 18 karat gold with toilet fully operational apparently and you could read a ticket to go and see it and they were 3 minute time slots apparently fully functioning you could use it if you want to but most people just of the picture taken with it on it so peace been in touch the theft of the golden toilet did the authorities have anything to go on thank you and call them Lou it's gone I should just sit down and let the matter drop. Yeah thank you Mark that sort of humor feels like hello.
