Intervention if it just went to trial he would be stuck there even if found innocent for at least another few months I mean the legal process is extremely slow in the u.a.e. So for the moment it's been 3 months he's spent over $30000.00 pounds on this whole deal and we still don't know whether he's going to be imprisoned for possibly up to 3 years that's what his lawyer has told him to prepare for you know kind of worst case scenario it's 3 years in prison Lewis Hamilton has won the Japanese gone pretty to increase his lead over championship rival Sebastian Vettel he now has a 59 point advantage over his closest contender with just 4 races left how Milton is seeking a 4th wild title but says he isn't looking that far ahead it is going to keep my head down and keep doing what I'm doing I think you never want to get ahead of yourself this 100 points available so we want to kill it so that when next fall races so that they've been a great 2nd office season and incredible performance from the saying the weather it will be a largely dry day with sunny spells for many patchy light rain showers will affect northern and western parts of the country and county skies and outbreaks of drizzle a possible in the fall Southwest a top temperature of 16 degrees Celsius b.b.c. Heading towards Newsnight. Trying a good. B.b.c. News 3 more Alderson a 47 year old man who was arrested after a car collided with pedestrians in London yesterday has been released under investigation he and 10 other people were injured when the vehicle mounted a pavement outside the natural history museum police say they don't believe they believe it was a traffic accident and not an act of terrorism treason May is insisting she has the full support of her cabinet following an attempt led by the former Conservative Party chairman Grant Shapps to force a leadership contest in her 1st interview since her faltering speech to the party conference in Manchester she said she's pretty resilient and has never been one to shy away from a challenge speaking to Robert Peston on i.t.v. Nadine Dorries says the pm needs to assert her authority quickly because she's staying because she's going to remain in that job because we want to remain in that job she has to come out fighting next week and whether things are going to have to start passed but I was very shocked when I think what the way he's going to do that is to have a reshuffle also to bring us some of the brilliant talent as well that we had post 2010 thousands of people waving Spanish flags and marching through Barcelona to oppose plans to declare Catalonia independent those taking part have described themselves as the silent majority these protesters say they don't want to see their country broken up more when there are gay but again we've come here today because this is what we want we want the unity of Spain and Catalonia I came here from a little town in Extremadura 51 years ago this is what I want I don't want them to dividers why we having worked you but I'm here because I don't want Catalonia to separate and saying they are both Spanish and counter learn from cancer Lonia people with disabilities caused by the drug thalidomide say they've made a big breakthrough in their campaign for compensation from Germany where the sedative was manufactured the 2 sides have had talks which have been described as positive by the Department of Families in Berlin Chris page reports. I'm just wondering I was trying to work out no I won't work at all she has she was born in 1958 October the 10th. Is Coming up we've also got an interview I did with Marty Stuart because modesty has got a brand new album night and he's been over here on tour in fact he's still touring he's tell you the date set when I play it but 1st of all I think what we've got to do we've had to play the Country Club because I've got a clip from a song and I want you to tell me the tell yourself don't call in and tell me because I can't take your phone calls because this is a recorded program on another do is play you know the country clip. Yeah that's a give me a give me a give me any ideas where. Nick that from. Me. Is a country clip the Ansal played the whole song in full of the whole thing a run about 10 minutes to 4 o'clock so have you any ideas where I've met that get the rhythm in your head right. Gimme Me I kid. you can get more about knifing caught up his name into Google. As I was saying just now. On tour at the moment and he's brought it a brand new double cd album 44 tracks on there it is absolutely. Now that's country the Definitive Collection Volume one which signed kind of suggests that there's going to be volume 23456 comes out on the 13th of October now at the moment if you want to go and say I'm you've missed him I'm 41 he was in Birmingham he's up and Gateshead yesterday and then on the 9th Monday tomorrow he's in Glasgow at the hour and more if you're going up to Scotland you might want to say and then all that he's dropping down to Manchester at the r. And c. And theatre on the 12th of October he nips over and his Dublin at a Limpia So that's where Monte Stuart is Torah know the name modesty it I'm sure is very familiar to country music fans he seems to have been around for a while and he just on the he came to the u.k. Earlier this year to play. Country to country and to promote his new Wyatt West album in the same year he's released another album this time it's the best of featuring a whole lot of film of his songs including tracks from weight West also on the new album is the track tempted he told me how that time about and how at a young age he got into country music I remember given my Meet the Beatles record away and I traded it for a flat and Scruggs and a Johnny Cash record and I fell in love with country music and you know it was fast it was fast on me that was you're right I started my 1st band when I was 9 years old and. I think I started on electric guitar and discovered the mandolin and it's just been the same life ever since and I love it and then at 12 you progressed live started playing professionally you met up with Les to flex indeed and then you played in Johnny Cash's spine you must have some great stories to tell us better working with Johnny Cash Well the crazy part about it is like I said the 1st 2 records that aren't ever owned in my life was flat and Scruggs and Johnny Cash and the only 2 jobs that are ever had as a working musician was with Lester Flatt and Johnny Cash and my wife Conny Smith came to sing at our hometown when I was 12 years old and it's a woman's I'm going to marry a girl someday took me 25 years to talk her into it but did Country music is just always been a driving force and in our house you know when Lester passed away I got a job with Johnny Cash and it was really the finishing course of what Lester for the education Lester Flatt offer me because John was you know he was a star around planet Earth in our member going across the chuckles of Akim border and the guys lovingly you know they would let him across till he sang a song for him and our members go and boy this guy is serious he is seriously regarded out there on the world states follow him around was like following a tornado around it was a big riot at that time were you looking to do a solo career I think it was in the back of my mind I knew that. I'd sit around the coffee shops with some of the guys that have been in his organization for you know 202530 years in some cases and they were still there and it was still a comfortable place and it was a place that you know some of those guys stuck it out with him to the last time he walked on stage but I knew as a young musician that I needed to get out and fly and figure it out and how to figure out how to write songs and make records and stand in front of an audience and hold it for you know 2 hours or whatever and the biggest supporter I had was him he helped me get my 1st record deal on Columbia Records and to the day he died he was my go to man if I had it I needed advice I'd pick up the phone and call j.r. He was the he was my all Chief great mentor I knew that so you got all those years in between above but the time you got to the early ninety's you were there you were flying you would write a new record and make some great songs from what I've read you were a little bit wild tell us about those heady days well going back to the early seventy's when I went on the road you know that the Woodstock generation were kind of lost they didn't have a lot of places to go to listen to music anymore and so what kind of fill that void was bluegrass festivals of all things so there was a lot of bluegrass muscles were kind of mom and pop and you know kind of a down home of vents but there were the crazy ones like a lot of the hippies you know that went to Woodstock they discovered bluegrass and it was just kind of a free will and deal and now is you know 14 years old or 15 whatever I was an impressionable and want to put on the suit and tie and played in Lester's band by day but at night I was out there figuring it out and if there was a mud hole I stepped in it man and I enjoyed every minute of it so for a lot of for a lot of years that was just you know a rock and kind of lifestyle and in those mud holes you must've taken Travis Tritt Didn't you have some great times with the and that's where I met him in a mud hole. But you did you read some great songs and sung. I'm with him didn't you know we had a great run together he's the minute I met him I thought were of you been all my life you're like my brother. Hans the day we finished our member very well we did this song together called the whisking working anymore and we use my tour bus for our dressing room on the video sit at the end of the video shoot we shook hands and made a deal said you know we're old ugly and bald and nobody cares about what we're doing anymore we're still going to be brothers and that still holds to this day and neither of you old ugly or bold I would call a better person. You have both got gray heads of. Let me move you up to the 2000 you phone the superdelegates write songs going toward studs and t.v. Shows now the Marty Stuart show how long did that run I did 156 episodes and we did it for us sex or 7 seasons and I knew that it was probably a self-imposed passion but I saw the culture of country music the 20th century culture of country music and so many of those architects and musical treasures as people been ignored and I saw it as a culture that was kind of slipping over the edge that needed tending to one last time before it was never heard from again and so that's what the show it was designed to entertain folks but at the same time it was designed to be a cultural document that was kind of the sign off for a lot of those folks I think Kitty Wells comes to mind that was her last public performance Charlie Louvin you know we have footage Oh Merle Haggard and Ray Price and Earl Scruggs and Jimmy Dickens that was probably the finest those are Lynn Anderson people on and on that are since gone on and just a short matter of time that that's probably the last great food is that will ever be of those people you know and are you enjoying the yet repeat fees now because I believe the been repeated they're being repeated and the fans still we haven't done shows and any like new shows in 2 years and it's still being. Repeated and I understand it's still the number one so on that little network and you know it was one of those things I think that the country music industry pride went Oh my God look what they've done the put hay bills and wagon wheels which we've tried to overcome that image for a 1000 years and they're back on the set doing that and we knew what we were doing it was kind of winking and and a nod with that but at the same time I took my case to the people I didn't ask anybody permission and the people responded and they love it so when you were on the stage is there one particular song that you really look forward to doing you know one that still means a lot to me and there was a feller named Paul Kennerley from Liverpool who wrote some of my 1st hits and he wrote hillbilly rock and we wrote songs like western girls and little things but there was a song we wrote called tempted and tempted was the 1st song that I had thought back in the ninety's that I thought oh man we have found a sound I love this I'm really proud to be a bit of fight with the sound and I felt like it was unique in the getting on place to another chapter so I feel like I'm kind of bringing tempted back home you know get it close to Liverpool and get it back and from whence it came and perhaps I'll give a special not attempted that Ok let's talk about your new album white West this is going to be a cult album I can feel it it's an album like no other it's different it's got the desert filled you intended to have that as haunting guitar riffs all the way through it tell me the story behind it because you're cowboy at heart and well thought I was but I'm an Indian I'm. Turned out to be well West is a love letter to the American West and so much of the music the places the people the items that spired me and my band is as young musicians and as young people growing up in America I got to tell you when I 1st put this approach us together this is back you know 17 years now we were in New York City for one of our 1st shows and I wanted to this record store down in the village in the blue. Call Bleeker Bob's It's a great record store and there was this gorgeous linen covered box it of recordings it said Ella Fitzgerald the verge of years you know the Verve it was an old jazz label right. Bought it for the beauty of the box just the sheer beauty of the boxes to sit on a shelf but when I got home I opened it up and I was knocked over there was all these you know compact disk inside and there's like things with Louie Armstrong Ella does an album with Duke Ellington Ellison's Porgy and Bess things Gershwin Ella does this all of those that I thought Man what a splendid way to live a musical life and so I knew with the support of that we were not going to be you know playing the chart game and chasing hits up and down these are grow much anymore but I thought were more of a cultural band were cultural missionaries are mercenaries everyone but I started making records you know that had themes and places or you know whatever wherever we wanted to turn our attention and we finally made it to the American West and it's a place that I've been waiting to saying and talk and write about since I was a little kid I'm just watched the video of why it west and I have to say that's a total new concept isn't it did you enjoy miking that I didn't even know we were making a video really we were out in the desert shooting photographs for what was to be the album cover and there was a young cinematographer Mr Read along who was along with the party and he was just shooting film the whole time and maybe about a month together so we need to take a look at where it was video and approve it so we can get it on the air on what way it was video and he says well it's summer reads footage Well there it was and I thought it was great and the one reason I really liked it is you know what we talked about with tempted I said you know I found what I thought was an identifiable sound you know for that chapter and so that was what it was a Madi has been a real pleasure talking to you thank you so much for your time thank you my friend have a very. There's a great album that is why it was by the way still available if you go to a fiver online store or indeed a high street store you can buy why it west but I was looking at the album the snow that's country the finity of collection Volume one i Phone the 13th of October and I have to say $44.00 tracks on there it almost follows right the way through his lifetime an amazing man really amazing I tell you what somebody else there might get a birthday this week.
