I've seen him at the National he's done incredible work everyone always remembers him as medallion man and as he said that will be what everyone remembers me for. A very good t.v. Role. I didn't see including that one but also in the standers which is called accomplice Yes he was Jack in East Enders and with Peggy for several years and also I mean he was Harvey in China and Harvey moon when I was growing up I remember that you know he was very big on and television and in those days and I was desperate to be a performer and Nicky really supported me and he was doing a lot of work in the West End when I was just trying to get into drama school and I must've been the only person who was lucky enough to do my speeches on west end stages because I would do it when when the theater was dark Nicky would take me there and help me with with my speeches. But Nicky's father was in show business with me he was a comedian played Leslie hands and yes an incredible performer who worked for and so and did amazing things and Nicky and I were delighted because somebody managed to find a photograph of Leslie Henson as a Piero when he was part of a Piro entertainment troupe on sharing them prominent out and it's very proudly displayed in our café that photograph and it's just amazing that how the world goes full circle and so Nicky was delighted to come and help us that sharing him because obviously his father knew the time well and he was a patron of the fear but also he worked on productions that I think he directed for you that he did for nearly 10 years actually I mean obviously we're one of the last surviving traditional Repertory Theatre his so we do weekly rep which is a very difficult art and Nicky knew that and as an actor he had trained through repertory So he came and helped me really establish that to make sure that we kept the tradition going and of course he had great relationships with Alan a born with Ray Cooney What with both of them so he actually came and directed their plays for us I'm a mood just so honored to have someone with all that skill and experience working with us at the little theatre we were just voted lucky to have to have him with us we all knew him as an access but didn't. Enjoyed that role directing other rounds Well this thing is he was actually a fantastic director because he really understood actors what I really loved about having Nicky with us is that he would really create a feeling of company an ensemble of the actors would have such a lovely time with him because he knew exactly what they were going through and he would work really hard to really putting them at their ease and supporting them and often teaching them as well because he was so skilled but he also knew how to go and have a drink with them afterwards and relax and have fun so we all loved being with Nicky because he had such wonderful anecdotes you know the people he knew in the stories he could tell were always really entertaining one of those easy I remember hearing him say once in an interview that he got paid for the Fawlty Towers episode I mean he was in the psychometrist was now I think it was and he got paid 150 pounds and it's absolutely he was actually very good friends with their junk please and he said that John Cleese rang him and said Look I've got to be extremely rude to this actor and it needs to be someone I know so would you do it. So that's how we got that part I think it's Ok I didn't have it but also I recall him saying that he enjoyed performing in the bill because the bill was that long running police Aries but he played 3 different roles and this is absolutely and I think as an actor everybody always wanted the bill on their c.v.
