Ready and off the news now the sports news his Richie the Republic of Ireland of missed out all to magic qualification for Year 02020 they drew one all with Denmark in Dublin last night tonight Wales play hungry at the Cardiff City Stadium knowing a victory will see them qualify automatically Teemu Pukki finish the qualifying qualification campaign with 10 goals after scoring in Finland's $21.00 defeat in Greece he played the full 90 minutes and freedom race course was held on to its honor of being one of the best places for a racehorse owners to take their charges but only 29 runners have declared for their 6 race car this afternoon the 1st is off at 10 past one you've made a puppet I have right here in fact where I sit on. Over their small barrack all b.c. As another one b.c. You know and tell me both Maybe I don't think I was here that they missed out before you did miss out I think the ultimate one still in my life goals to meet if there's a puppet I want to meet in the world it's gotta be a little green dude called Yoda. Thought you might again bring it back to Star Wars every time with Richard Hancock Well done Richard now I've got one of those messages to read out that I'm going to read out but there's not much point in reading out we know that some people in Norfolk can't hear us this morning in West Norfolk because of 8 I'm told is a bit of power somewhere so that's why you one of our transmitters one of our transmitter site has suffered a power cut so that some people can hear it if you listen in on line and you're about to get a new car don't bother that's the way to do it yes exactly well done there are people who can still hear us despite power. Since we're chase. Scene Radio in New York folks whether the most frustrating things when you see when you get messages coming in from people saying that they can't hear you because you've gone off the air and then you realize that you can't really explain why because you craft Yeah but anyway can celebrate the weather forecast for those that can still hear us good morning we've got a bit of frost this morning widespread quite hard frost as well temperatures widely billows there a bit of mist and fog as well it could freeze if you do have it because of the temperature or obviously and it does seem to be creeping a little bit further east than I anticipated so full of this morning any Mr Felt will start to lift and we'll then start to see maybe some sunshine it looks like we're going to hang on to the sunshine for the longest over here in the east with some hazy sunshine gradually will start to see the cloud increasing there as we head towards the end of the day temperatures between 3 and 5 Celsius now we're talking all morning about this line of showers which has been moving down the east of side of the u.k. Still out in the north say still haven't clipped any kind of coastal towns atoll but there is a possibility it could later on today so don't be too surprised if you do catch one now of a night tonight clear to start with of the temperature drops right down to one Celsius but gradually the cloud will increase become fairly intense or widespread across the whole county temperatures actually less cold by the end of the night again chance of the coastal shower then tomorrow cloudy start then the breaks will start to come through the afternoon as the cloud breaks up a freshening southeasterly tomorrow but regardless of the breeze coming from the south it's still cold between $4.00 and $7.00 Celsius now the Ensure waters forecastable to point to North Pole and the winds northwesterly $3.00 to $5.00 becoming variable 3 or less then becoming southeast of the 3 or 4 later visibility good weather showers that 1st the stakes move those like occasionally moderate at 1st time Kate can set up with your b.b.c. Radio you know foot weather. Risk or a break 1st so much character is now north of field somewhere metal detecting as we speak he's complained of the cold but we hope that it's going to be all worth it in the end that it will find something valuable because what we're trying to. We live up to the fact that Norfolk is the best place for buried treasure I would hear about a West offered hedgehog hotel in this part of the program as well and we will have a look ahead to the 1st leaders' t.v. Debates in the build up to the general election we're still trying to find out whether you can tell a polling station to go away if you've already got the venue books high school or having breakfast in one of the claims we are in this part of the program but we'll get stuck into that a little bit later on our main story this morning out there our ambitions in West Norfolk to get rid of rough sleeping altogether and get every person the help they need or ambition is to see an end to slipping we committed to doing everything we can as a council to achieve that working with others but there's no magic solution there's lots of different things we need to do working with a variety of different partners and it's not something we're going to be able to achieve overnight we think they're not shelter ready is being used for lots of people we need additional provision and we're putting plans in place to provide that but in the long term we've got to have an ambition to stop sleeping in this area it's something up until the last 2 or 3 years we've never seen before and it's it's dangerous and it's something that no one should be doing that stunk a hole he says King's Lynn and West Norfolk para cancels housing officer he admits it's going to be a hard task bearing in mind that many homeless people who sleep rough stay deliberately hidden from view distrustful of the authorities so we're talking in terms of being very well meaning and helping rough sleepers getting homeless people off the streets is that actually possible also Martins housing trust in Norfolk works across the county is based in Norwich chief executive Jentzsch Sheldon joins us in the studio this morning it's coming in John you really welcome certainly when we have a cold morning like this it brings me it's a problem all year round but it comes into sharper focus on a morning like this how big is the problem in Norfolk how many people do you think are regularly sleeping rough we know from the racial Street can't figures back in 28 seen. That we released last January that we had $55.00 people sleeping rough across Norfolk we know specifically in nor age that we had a 30 percent decrease on the previous year's rough sleeping figures so we were looking at 21 in orange so. How sure can we be of those figures because we've heard from King's Lynn this morning a lot of the people who are sleeping rough don't necessarily want to be found don't want to be contacted because they're distrustful of to why you might be counting them and maybe don't believe that the help is there for them it's true that there are some people who are hidden but what I would say is that there are Reach services that a really really key to engage with every rough sleeper so we had the pathways team which is a collection of 7 organizations led by smart ins and we're out there working really hard to get rough sleepers the the support that they need there's also a national website which people can report rough sleepers or people who are off sleeping too if they would like to and there's an app that's called The Street Link website or the Street Link app and that information goes direct to the local support services to get people who are rough sleeping the support that they need how does that process start and if you try if I spot somebody sleeping in a tent someone in my house and I fill in the details on a website what wash me happened and that goes that information goes directly to the local authorities who then alert work closely with the local agencies right when we hear this morning the the ambition to end rough sleeping get everybody off the streets at night How possible do you think that actually is I mean it's a it's a ideally would be great but is it possible if you have asked me that question a year ago I would have probably started my teeth in when government well well there will always be a handful or perhaps people who are entrenched rough sleepers but I would say now that after last year we introduced a initiative called The Street break initiative which was funded by the Norfolk Community Foundation and a very generous couple who have been clear about their money wanting to support this. Initiative and we had some incredible successes last year people who had been entrenched in using the services for about 20 years actually went into accommodation for the 1st time and of those people 50 percent of the people that we supported through the street break initiative actually have secure and permanent accommodation so I think it's possible and the the key is to making sure that as an organization we it's Martine's are incredibly creative in the way that we think no one solution fits every roughs to every last sleep or is an individual and their solutions need to be as individual as they are and that's key isn't it because boundary roughly but there's a story and often rough sleeping can be the end of several other problems along the way and you've got to get through all those as well haven't you if somebody is rough sleeping that's the strongest possible indicator that something is very seriously wrong for that person and we want to provide the support that they need Ok so you feel we are making progress in you who have people saying this morning that maybe churches should throw the doors open the should be more places for people to go is that necessary we are definitely making progress in nor Each we're making slow progress across Norfolk as a whole if we look at the statistics we had a very slight increase across Norfolk between the 20182017 figures but we are making progress we don't have enough accommodation and it's Martins we working hard to make sure that we bring more accommodation projects in we're looking at opening an emergency accommodation and assessment units this year and our trustees are incredibly committed to opening a new housing 1st unit for around about 20 people by 2022 something we'll keep in touch with you about those coming in this morning to really welcome thanks Chris Gen Shelton the chief executive of the Samaritans housing trust I would like your thoughts on this as well how big a problem is roughly where you live and to believe that anything that can be done you've had some positive signs there in some parts of Norfolk what would you do to stop it and to help people are 80389. 321 is the number to call you can send us a text 813 double 3 Start your message with the word. Risk on b.b.c. Radio nor for 7 out of the headlines for you this morning at $815.00 rough sleeping has got to stop in West Norfolk that's the view of the bar a council which is taking extra steps to find homeless people who are not coming forward for help so David Attenborough has said the world is starting to tackle the threat of plastic waste because people have become much more aware of the dangers it poses to marine life in sport over not. Faking them today at the 6 racecar Bo only has had 29 runners declared for its brought with sunny spells if you're off to the races today some showers around dryer this afternoon highs of 6 Celsius 43 Fahrenheit coming up Boris Johnson and Jeremy Corbyn will go head to head in the 1st televised debate of the election campaign later we'll talk to our political correspondent Paul Rowley about that after the counties press travel. And he once again is Brewster thanks Chris if you're heading towards north on Bunky right this morning traffic is looking very heavy through pouring and and on tonight right that's going to stay down by at least 20 minutes traffic is also very heavy on a lot of very because of the temporary traffic lights in place there it's just before the family can pick it turning and it's queuing for about 3 miles back towards their tomatoes lay down by at least 25 minutes and in the other direction as you head away from marriage at. About 15 minutes yeah some very long delays over the road works usually a 47 between North and the manhunt again where the robots are in place and looking very heavy on the approach to Great Yarmouth on the 47 new road as well I can see a 4 mile queue there in traffic on the a 10 main road towards west from set and it's towards the Harvick roundabout that can add about 12 minutes on travel time over on the trains just one cancellation to be aware of this morning the 9 o 8 great Anglia Distin are each service that will not be running this morning if you can update me on anything you see the number to call 80389 said. 3 to one. Risk or on b.b.c. Radio. Every Sunday morning on d.v.c. Radio Norfolk we bring you the treasure forecast with spells of this week then shoot outs with it's spitting now it's giving me that it's that horrible kind of frizzy hair rain which is of this. Good yes and even advice on places to avoid you still not know the oceans that don't come. To Nothing personal We promise join David Whiteley and to leave Ranger for treasure Quest every Sunday morning from 9 on b.b.c. Radio no facts you'll pardon the b.b.c. . 87 say no the 1st of the t.v. Debates between the party leaders during the general election campaign takes place tonight Boris Johnson will face Jeremy Corbyn on i.t.v. At 8 o'clock it's a straight head to head between the 2 candidates seeking to become prime minister looking ahead to this is our political correspondent Paul Rowley poll have significant is this moment it's not only the 1st t.v. Debate of the campaign Chris but surprisingly this is the 1st straight head to head between a serving prime minister and the leader of the main opposition party that we've seen in this country indeed when this started back in 22 there were 3 debates involving 3 party leaders the incumbent Gordon Brown David Cameron who replaced him in Downing Street and Nick Clegg if you remember Clegg mania as they called it who ended up as the deputy prime minister in the subsequent coalition government of the following election in 2015 David Cameron wasn't fast with them to be honest with you even though he won the election there are only a couple of debates one involving the leaders of 7 parties which became incredibly unwieldy and as a result incredibly unforgettable and last time around in 2017 despite calling the election to reason may refuse to debate with anybody but herself at one stage sending along her cabinet colleague Amber run. So tonight Chris is going to be something of a novelty you've got Boris and Jess are going face to face it's just after Emmerdale and just before I'm a celebrity with a with another to some Ant and Dec If you don't want to miss it yes what kind of tactics to expect of the pair as in Boris Johnson and Jeremy Corbyn not ant and dec to you judging by the way the campaign has gone so far Boris Johnson will mention one thing and he'll do it over and over again and that is to restate his view that only he will get breaks it dumb that is the mantra Illich use Jeremy Corbyn of a drift of desire of delay and probably other words beginning with the letter d. By his promise to hold another referendum on our membership of the European Union if he wins the election in 2 heard not expect the Labor leader will try to focus on domestic issues that he feels are a strong point with the promise to restore cuts to public services imposed during the austerity years as they call them under the conservatives particularly on things like the n.h.s. Which is Labour's strongest card I would argue on schools on social care on the issue of poverty in general but these 2 are different characters both know the at this kind of format both will play to their strengths you would have thought Boris Johnson no doubt will try to humor the audience although he is rather short on detail which I suspect Jeremy Corbyn will try to capitalize on in turn the Labor leader can be rather serious at times although maybe these are serious times the aim crudely Chris is to avoid the the banana skin because everybody will remember it and there's a lot riding on this let's not forget only a little matter of who's going to run the country for the next 4 or 5 years you know what would become use now for these t.v. Debates being part of a general election campaign what evidence is there that they achieve anything but I can't think of any killer moment during the previous debates in this country that is that she had that much effect I mean you remember certain aspects of it but they weren't any Nick Clegg did well but finished 3rd in the end although. Party were part of the coalition government in the United States they became almost part the Constitution they started in 1960 when j.f.k. Kennedy took on Nixon Nixon backfired big star he looked rather shifty people thought well after Watergate people thought he was shifty but I think he was sweating on that occasion although I'm told on the the radio debate he came out the winner so television is important in that respect but the lights of Barack Obama Bill Clinton before that Ronnie Reagan I'm told did rather well breaking through on the t.v. The former although they have been doing it longer than we have Chris but it's the 1st of a number of debates you're going to see over the next 3 and a bit weeks the other parties don't become involved indeed I think the Liberal Democrats I know the Liberal Democrats in the Scottish Nationalist feel they should be there tonight they try to have a challenge in the High Court yesterday which failed on the grounds they felt that as remain part is a should be given a voice there will be a follow up program though tonight Chris at 10 o'clock on i.t.v. You've got Jo Swinson of the Liberal Democrats taking part in Blackford the Westminster leader of the Scottish nationalists the Green Party who unveiled their manifesto this morning they'll be represented and of course you've got Nigel Farage the leader of the BRICs it Party but if you're bored with politics Chris you can watch at 8 o'clock tonight Holby City on b.b.c. One you've got Master Chef on b b c 2 the Big Bang Theory on eath for my kids watch that I think it's the only thing on the 4 and Supermarket Sweep on i.t.v. 2 no longer with the late great Dale Winton but with Rylan Rylan Clark Neil that guy gets everywhere doesn't it watch your back Chris you'll be doing this job next to Paul Rowley thank you very much that's Paul Rowley our political correspondent looking ahead to tonight's t.v. Debates on i.t.v. As he says at 8 o'clock there is your own personal radio times in a full rolling going through a t.v. Show just for you there and we've been looking at this today because it is to on tonight at 8 o'clock on i.t.v. The 1st of a few of these t.v. Debates. Actually that the t.v. Companies are of been noticing are among the people who've had to shift their plans because of the general election let's bring Tim our producer in on this what I understand a search tweet I think it was earlier on today from the comedian David Mitchell Ok who has had one of his programs moved around the show Jules because the b.b.c. Have got 15. And the leaders lection debate over the next few weeks and you can do your own joke here but the b.b.c. Program that's been moved is would I lie to you so I know whether you can I don't even need to finish it after you can I can do your own joke there what I like to you the b.b.c. B.b.c. Panel show is being moved around the shed ules to make room for leadership debates the want tonight there is an i.t.v. And I'm sure we'll have reaction to it and follow on tomorrow morning's programme so if you choose into that be interested know what you make of it when we are with you tomorrow morning on b.b.c. Radio Norfolk on the subject of the election it isn't just the t.v. Companies that are having to to move their show jewels around are seeing quite a few things over the last few weeks since we knew that the general election was going to be on December the 12th the people having to change their plans mainly because polling stations now are going to be pressed into use on the 12th of December we've heard already from callers this morning saying they've had to change the venue and the date for their Christmas parties because they had really told booked out that have now been changed to polling stations I know across the country some schools have had to change or worry about then the tippity place because they've got it all planted on the rehearsals and now their school halls are being used as polling stations and we had an interesting theory put forward that we early on Tim that we have to find out if you've already got a venue booked and then they want to turn into a polling station Do they have the power to do that or can you stand firm and say No I've got it but for a Christmas party Well no thermal answer on that yet and house texted Christian says the last twice I voted employee field I have been to different places including the parish church this time it's at another then you in the village so it doesn't appear to be. That instance that work might lead to a plea if there's already a booking place I've got to find another place to do the voting process you would think that the general election organizers can just commandeer a village hall or of a school and say no it's only stay where you would have thought so it doesn't necessarily seem to be the case but anyone that gives a thorough answer is still looking for that one trip with 3 star a message with the word north and if you had a bit of a double booking if you had to make a change because the venue you had booked is now going to be a polling station we'd like to hear those stories are 803897321 our top story today Tim's been about homelessness and ambition certainly in West Norfolk to make sure that there aren't people having to sleep rough in the cold weather and we've been looking for your solutions to that Dave says as short empty shops and offices could be used for a wreath for the night long term those empty buildings that have been for so they've been empty for such a long time should at least be converted partly into residential use Harry says morning City Hall is a place for homeless people overnight for many good reasons as in orange Jones says one thing the council can do is stop closing public toilets that would give people somewhere to at least use toilets and have a wash and Fran says a friend contacted the north of the district council housing office as his landlord was selling his flat he needed a ground floor property due to health reasons there was also need to be within 15 minutes of his parents for this reason he was offered a totally unsuitable property miles away and told to get a tent and sleep on the streets then they could find him something interesting there yeah and if your experiences will will take some of them we can even look into a bit more detail 080-389-7321 we're looking for the puppets that have appeared in Norfolk can't wait cities for sale today or at least sweep and Sue puppets a rest set of them presumably these are ones that actually been used in anger if you like on children's television they are going up for auction later today they're expected to fetch thousands of pounds so we wanted to get your stories this morning of the puppets that you've met or even the pop. You've seen perform live in Norfolk because some of these puppets can become quite big stars can do their own sellout tours yeah can indeed pass in Norway and his I grew up near Pinewood Studios when we were children the local hospital would hold a big sum of faith Jerry in Sylvia Anderson brought along their Thunderbirds puppet savior there we see it and as a young fan my brothers and I were thrilled we got to meet a couple of the Thunderbirds past Lady Penelope and Parker they brought the pink rose Royce's Well it was quite big the puppets for about 2 feet tall something I have never forgotten and you wouldn't forget that would you really and they did they did bring Thunderbirds back on the see on t.v. Annals you a couple of years ago yes now all animated Yeah it's all computer generated and now it's not it's not the same it's not the same I have seen that I tried to be relatively thay faithful were given a bit of a modern age and it's not the same as it is from Susan in Sprouse and says she remembers a big topic called Lenny the lion from her childhood but she doesn't remember there ever being any toys of him made however her and her brother had city and sweet puppets when they were younger which they loved text 87 says I met Dizzy in Zack and drug colony when we were a family of the week of The Big Breakfast Algy remember the Channel 4 free breakfast they used to did the family go in and spend the week in The Big Breakfast house or did they come to a lot of harmony the week there are several members there to sag and things like that but they were of the family the week thing to Rocky because that's where it was and here in the yeah I believe is still going strong on Irish telly other day because that's where they originated from They've been turned into a cartoon rather than puppets and yes I did know that text says Not bit me but my former boss worked with loads of famous people the ones I was totally in or that she'd met with George Zippy and bungle all the big 3 Absolutely George Zippy and Bangor people all of those then perhaps Rick we grew up almost in way yeah and Tony and based and says in the eighty's he met Nicky did there with Raja Corsi at fate. Emirates course I'm not familiar with Nikita Barry Yes they are you know I know Nikita and Rogers of course and I I remember going to see live on stage at the Norwich Theatre Royal Button Moon But today Mr supposing her Mr Spurgeon Cardenas he's being not going as far as saying I met them but I did see them in or Each that counts doesn't it I think I guess I was you know he did I was lucky enough to go backstage and meet Mr spoon and the rest of the students but I did did see them on stage Norrish So we will take we'll take some more of these if you've got puppets that you've got a match or scene on the stage in Norfolk 803897321 in text 813 double 3 Start your message with the word Norfolk and I know we've all grown up now but some dimension but moving there was a wistful look in your eyes Kate Brewster is what you want your for I do have a button let's say my sister absolutely loved it yeah I thought it was one of your interests you mention these all puppets of the trial didn't. In the clip Lord Charles then gets his own puppet out and you have 3 of them and it's one of the best one of the things I watch most often online if you need a bit of cheering up it never felt all that I think it's brilliant. This is from an ease with Kate thanks Chris he had been looking very heavy this morning I can see traffic right the way through the street in pouring land and on to now I tried that at least 35 minutes still very So also on the a 146 a lot and very That's because the road works there long he is in both directions from the family and pick attending inept in I've had a report of an accident on whole lane that's affecting traffic in both directions from school close in that Denton north watching very dense bar common I think King's Lynn I've had reports that the a 47 there's an obstruction there partially blocking. The road to having a spanned towards the pull of a roundabout that's making its life the usual place on a 47 between North and the humming and by the bright lights from places Well I have on the trains just one cancellation to be aware of the 9 i just an hour it is not running if you cannot take me on anything you see the number to call at 80397321. Able to get the win they needed against Denmark to qualify for Year 82020 the jury 10 in Dublin last night among now have to go through the playoffs for next summer's tournament in March defender Shane Duffy says it's really disappointing the result they played well I just felt like the energy was great from everyone and I'm going to compose done a lot of final votes in the ballpark as which is most important which sort of been a lot about our twitch which forced us to transfer a bit more composure we thought about long long. Well Teemu Pukki finished the qualifying campaign with 10 goals after scoring in Finland $21.00 defeat in grace he played the full 90 minutes Northern Ireland face Germany in Frankfurt knowing they're already in the playoffs they'll be without nor city's Jamal Lewis who withdrew from the squad with a knee injury yesterday and Scotland go into their last match before the euro 2020 play off looking for a 3rd successive victory Steve Clarke sidle finished 3rd in group. Radio Norfolk sport that's it for now thanks very much Cher Richie before before you go Ritchie a question for you yes go which board game and I don't know the answer to this which board game do you suppose has been the cause of most arguments the monopoly. You're straight has to live going to take that one apparently today is playing Monopoly day. Cartman the last or probably isn't just a bit I don't know does anyone actually enjoy playing Monopoly drags a bit for him I think so. There's not much variety and maybe is a good idea to play it start playing now before the heightened tension is around Christmas. Now and things aren't so pressured and maybe there were fewer fights over it and you might finish it by Christmas just not never that much of a hardened capitalists to be. Able to earn enough money that I don't know I never won is what I'm saying here I would never be quite ruthless ruthless enough but it's become the go to board game when you say to people maybe Borg and there was criminal I don't know why because I've never enjoyed playing it I don't know why it's become this great kind of totem of this is what we're all aiming for when we play board games but anyway but I think think things are changing in both games very big in amongst the younger generation who play a lot of video games and then want to do something a bit more physical and so there are other things coming through but so yeah I mean scrabbles come to a resurgence in popularity as well yeah this is your opportunity to mention the inevitable Star Wars Monopoly set that must exist. Yes I haven't got it though but I have got Star Wars risk court Star Wars of risk of course you. Can bring all but Star Wars can which tank it's a it's a feature I'm sure will continue all this week Star Wars risk that now risk is and that's a whole nother. Till next Christmas never mind this Christmas if you start that now has you whether we can sell or hold start this morning temperatures widely down below 0 to a widespread Frost perhaps not so along the coast but everywhere else temperatures subzero Now there are risk of a shower there is a risk of a shower rather for parts of the East Coast really there's a line of showers working the way down the East you might just get one or 2 but it is going to be largely dry the Mr folk will lift if you have it this morning and will get a little bit of hazy sunshine ahead of the clouds moving in from the west temperatures today between $3.00 and $6.00 Celsius the cloud continues on its journey overnight is going to start off pretty cold but gradually is that cloud increases the temperature becomes a little less cold this got more clouds the more it stays colder they'll get some breaks in the cloud in the afternoon temperatures for Wednesday between 4 and 7 Celsius I'll have a full forecast though with all the details in around half an hour concerned with your weather forecaster now I'm hoping that while the web is Ok we last checked on him 50 minutes or so ago and he was about to start metal detecting. In the cold weather because we're investigating reports that Norfolk is the best place in the country to find a buried treasure so we'll be catching up with him in the next 10 minutes or so hopefully he's not frozen to the spot will be all right because he was worried but we'll catch up with Wally in a moment to remember if you're with us this time yesterday we talked about really homing animals in Norfolk Well since then we've discovered there's been a huge increase in hedgehog rescues this year that's according to the i.r.s. Pca in West Norfolk could be east which Center has more than 200 at the moment 210 chocks twice as many as usual 100 in last week at this morning there is an appeal not to hand in healthy adult ed chalks Allison chances for me are speciate and joins us now good morning Alison morning thanks for coming on the program so many headshots what's going on. And we're not quite sure what's going on and see if you got an awful lot of care at the moment these youngsters are probably the 2nd left trying to pay a long wait for the wait a minute cause it's got quite cold now and people realize that when they're out during the day and that we can know or believe they're actually needed care so they bring them in to us and so it could be a good thing it could be that more of being born this year s. Just in court by the cooled. Yeah it is the same thing today with what we just had bonfire night when the fireworks celebrations and there's always a big warning then to look out for hedgehogs or is it connected to that. And we feel no I mean 40 we didn't get any in there were burnt in bonfires which really interests a very good year for us and. These are something slightly different that youngsters are really trying to pile on the way to get ready for winter and they haven't quite managed it so anything is and a whole 150 grams it out during the day needs to come in care but what you said earlier about the adult ones that are huge in sort of the size of a pineapple and perhaps even a kilogram found out on an evening in the dark they don't need to come into care because they're doing fine and dandy and they should be left out to do the hedgehog thing but for the small ones that really are poorly they definitely need to come in it's just you know we are absolutely packed out jokes account of them yesterday morning and got 264 now so it would have almost said yes. So we're actually gotten an appeal because we're running a little low on used because as you can imagine we clean that twice a day and we didn't in 64 we get into an awful lot of newspapers so if anyone lives near them east winds can pop in some of their old newspapers that be fabulous. You know because the good old folks of Norfolk help us out a great deal and we eat them to provide the newspapers and that to me 264 hedgehog sounds like an awful lot how many would you expect to have in at this time of the year. Not that many. We probably expect 150 you know but not 264 is just incredible and after the call that was had last night I think we get more in today. But you know we feel we really have to help these head talks and it's a joy to be able to tell him. Of course. From what you said a moment ago do you sometimes have issues with well meaning people bringing animals into that actually they don't need to bring in. And not so much as we used to have I think the public so much better educated by programs like Spain what you know so much but it's just the occasional folks that are out on a night time with the head torch trying to catch big adult healthy hedgehogs we really don't need to see them because you got so many sick a choke in the building that very vulnerable and you know we could get disease go through the whole lot of them we don't want healthy animals in as well. So yeah health healthy ones and please leave them out to do what they need to do and you know they'll start going into hibernation now and they'll be kind since he got 264 hedgehogs you don't want too many more to come in because it would we don't want any of that that are struggling but I mean how many could you take them out how much more room if you got 5 trucks. And we're very good at juggling not literally but we're very good at moving animals through and on and we just find space I mean you know you don't want to turn any wildlife away that's injured and sick and that's why I say we don't want healthy animals we just want sick ones need our help but we'll manage and the good thing with hedgehogs is the don't go into a deep sort of bear like nation then they go into a sort of semi hibernation when it's mild a week up in the elite and they'll go back to sleep in so we do release them all the way through the winter if the weather is not too bad and if the grounds not frozen and they're huge big hits by the town release them but we've just got to keep piling the weight on them and get them fit and healthy and then released so we will keep taking the bin and we will release the ones that are large and healthy and fit to go back to the people's gardens I mean good work with hedgehogs and so will certainly mention if you've got newspapers and you live near East winter please pop them in the arse pca but I must ask about See also which is what we get your most often to talk about Alison because I've looked at not just the local papers but the national papers that are you've made it in there for releasing of the 6 eels that you were able to release yesterday so well into the sale popping season and there was all that going. And it's going really well I mean there they were common SEALs that were released that would have been since the summer yesterday so that was a joy because we had so many poorly common seals it was lovely to get some out and get them released but we're think is crossed with the Gracie hopes that being born on the beach now that we're not going to get too many in case you know we've got a fabulous team or friends of the SEALs looking after them and trying to keep them safe with them so we hope not to get too many in the ones we're very aware of and you know we would ask people to stay away from the cops and keep their dogs that we can because the ones we can get in no one's been attacked by and dogs have been disturbed in that Bonds gone so I think it's crossed people listen to the advice and they stay well away from the seals up certain from a distance and just enjoy them yeah that's always the advice. But you know that the work you do it's making making a lot of papers this morning Alison so you can see some real volunteers and some your seals in there so head talk and sales and then before I let you go in the us you want to mention any any other animals are having to be tough winters and. We're also we did it with ones so we've got the big 3 at the moment with seals ones and it chokes. We just don't know what's going to always was behind so many and flying into power lines and crashing on to awards and things like this and they have a hard time the girls ones were still getting away with. This in hooks in them so we're really busy the hospital is so there is so yeah we're doing the best we can but we're in and it was well but not fixable of isn't it really is I can I can feel a special feature coming on to more now about swans because I didn't know you're going to say that and are by I wonder why that's happening because you know you mention you've always got room for hedgehogs actually got to go swarm coming in there that's a that's another challenge all together isn't it. It is indeed Yeah we got 2 cigarettes and yesterday it flew into power lines and you know you think oh my word I'm going to. A rather large. So yes they're sitting in we've got welcome boxes and adults who got insisting and welcome boxes in next week at the moment and we'll have to again juggle to move them into the hospital Good luck story how many of you go in another minute. Oh my word I don't know. Certain Plus of course they're so much bigger than headstocks you can't get quite as many in. Here who got 4 cubicles for 5 in and there were others out there doing a lot better when to be release and so yes we're we've packed keep in touch with us and Charles thank you very much from the p.c. Hospital an east wind show we got on to talk about hedgehogs because they've got 264 hedgehogs in at the moment which seems an extraordinary number maybe you can tell us a few If how the hedge was doing where you are maybe this is due to the fact that actually we've just got a booming population in Norfolk and this is a good sign and then the Swans what was once having so many issues that that's not something that I was expecting her to say but I've got over 30 storms in as well or 803897321 he text 813 double 3 Start a message with the word Norfolk. Preschool on b.b.c. Radio Norfolk and in news headlines service morning is a 47 more emergency accommodation is being organized in West Norfolk for people who are sleeping rough in the bar for a few animals as well as we've just been hearing Boris Johnson and Jeremy Corbyn will go head to head in the 1st televised debate of the election campaign later in sport just 29 runners have been declared for faking a racist today but they should be going on piece of ground despite an overnight Frost bright with sunny spells with some showers around today dryer this afternoon highs of 6 Celsius 43 Fahrenheit while he's waiting to speak to us standing out freezing in a field for us this morning on the hunt for buried treasure after it emerged that northward. Is the best place in the country to find it will see if he's found anything. After that Kate Bush has got your travel news thanks Chris you have just had a call from David to say there's been an accident on the a 47 there the puzzle I have a past that's if you're heading westbound place are in attendance then have close one lane 2 is starting to queue back buggy road has been looking very busy this morning I can still see traffic right the way through the street in pouring land and road slowing down by at least 20 minutes also still very solid a lot and right that's because of the road works in place there just by the fragmenting pit turning that's. Both directions still at the moment and Knapton there has been reports of an accident on the whole a in effect in traffic in both directions from school close in that 10 to North Walsham very common user delays on a 47 particularly on the new road straight as you head towards Great Yarmouth as a 3 mile queue they're currently of on the trains just the one cancellation to be aware of the 9 o 8 great and their distance will not be running this morning if you know anything else and update 081-038-9732 extension 1. Chris Kohler on b.b.c. Sounds you are part of the b.b.c. . 10 get in touch with Chrissy on email Chrissy got some. B.b.c. Dot co dot u.k. If you want to join her recipe club that's open for business today with the star of Saturday Kitchen Richard Bainbridge cooking up another tasty treat here for us just make sure I'm available a bit later on when he's in one of the tricks of the trade we have here at b.b.c. Radio Norfolk now while he was waiting to speak to us before I give you a formal introduction How cold are you are you all right. And how is going to move me over the large an hour ago we set a challenge to see if we could find buried treasure this follows on from reports we spotted in the this Express last week that Norfolk is still Britain's best place to find ancient artifacts and important finds that more than 100 discoveries were made in the county last year so with the help of 2 very enthusiastic detectorists while he's been trying his hand at finding some hidden history how he got on Wally. Yeah much Milla much like at the moment saw Mira Leggett as a better known the dippy detectorists and we've had a quite a successful our gentleman we like it Yasmin to battle at the foot to find success we haven't found a Roman hold of Collins but we have found a few miscellaneous pieces yes if we can just crouch down here on the frozen. And little or too little this is like a oil kind of thing. You'd be very interested in this if this bit of mechanics here that has actually been working order and I favor a part today I'll discard this is a bow or a poached a bit off a tractor or a part of a combine novice to this bit and plenty of nails in this field plenty of nows everywhere I think dodgy day means how it is why and find out right you know what was coming down and come and plan on living now before you before we go it's my friend my favorite part is definitely this shotgun cartridge think it belongs to him of the 8 because when he was doing his Slimming World back in the day used to run round these fields and try to lose weight he obviously saw to detectorists he wants this debate so that just shows get some commission you go for him the going to come out exactly and you can catch up with all your fines as well can you on social media Yammer Stephanie just gone to Facebook or You Tube and type in the dippy detectorists and our videos will show up. Well I mean to come out in this kind of weather and be digging you I mean just you were still enthusiastic about just before we went on air let's get you said on The Times just how warm or digged the saying goes magnificent Mel attacked and you don't know which day or which fry will be that good fall and that's excitement of it as a really exciting and your best find to date best find today probably what magnificent I would say probably the sawn off shotgun that we found down in toys r us in Nora's that still trumps of all doesn't like it I think metal detecting as far as it gays and metal detecting would be. Will we don't know how far back personal. Brilliance you will continue with your endeavors most definitely until we find that gold holds that we were longing for we will keep swinging and keep. Digging. It's quite interesting Chris actually because not only do we have I mean everyone's familiar with metal detectors you know your little light that you sweep across the top and they have had phones that they put on but they also have what looks like a garden. Like the pinpoints or is not this thing here isn't it is not switched on at the minute there was no. Need to actually pinpoint you know right down the hole. Just put this little dipper into the ground and leave them directly to it no matter how small the object is sounds fascinating Well if you're if you're Nischelle tomorrow morning u.g.a. We know we know last time. That was. Ok yes. They were good stuff excellent stuff Wally so you keep swinging keep digging that's the message isn't it from from our detectorists. The excitement of never knowing it might be that next fall he might just be yeah. We'll leave you there Wally in the d.p. Tex 1st thing quite fun therefore she detected but it's good old saying. It didn't like it say they'd found something for Henry the 8th shocking car change. And yet I think a little bit dramatic like yeah they're big fans of the dramatic license that happy to take tourists have they been filming. They have so we'll have to have a look on you to see 40 years as a star in the latest video even more of a star than the already one right here good stuff Somali Now let's round up our discussion about puppet shall we talk about this because it was in the news this morning with that arrest set of city sweep. Puppets will go up for auction later today they're expected to fetch thousands of pounds so it got us thinking about the puppets the well known puppets that you've seen doing their stuff in North Dakota you've met because over the years several of the best known puppets of the national polls and of taken in seasons in Norfolk haven't they so what we had on this Skip says I remember going up to Mousehole Heath in Norwich to see the film you get fresh with gas and pop and the puppet deal with the alien yeah I seen these 30 years ago yes do you remember this this is this is right in my ear this Ok for about 30 years ago so I would have been what 7 or 8 years old so I think get fresh was so if you want b.b.c. You had going live yes alive and kicking Yeah and i.t.v. Put their own version of it up against it and it had several different incarnations they tried several different things out and one of them was get Freddy fresh and Gilbert the alien was one of the stars of it and they would go from memory were they on a spaceship or something but they would have this quite elaborate set that they would take around the country and be broadcasting from a different location every week in my in a spaceship but yeah gas top was one of the t.v. Presents of my youth remember him you know my guest told I remember gas to oil sorry gas top was one of those t.v. Presenters that was around on everything to me Mallett when I was a kid and then a few years later he came back and did slightly older television under the name Gareth Jones I think it was awful and you were going to show you know your 1st calling it has to happen when you yeah I think I did and you do remember. Him Yeah I guess the same bloke so I don't like when he was when he was 1st on telly he had the showbiz name Gaz top and then he sort went off and decided he wanted to be taken more seriously I don't know where he is now what happened to him but that's the gasohol top was a big big a big name and like no big name on t.v. When I was growing up. It was the puppets or he was really I mean there was a real boy who was a real boy he is still an easy. You know acting now is last period according to Wikipedia in the Tommy Cooper show. And he's not going under the name gets top anymore and I don't think he would think as top Caroline Wyndham I went on a school trip to London in the sixty's where I got to meet Lenny the lion John Snow today's massive coincidence yes Kevin who works on Chrissie Jackson's program then you know stuff here happens to just go on Facebook a b.b.c. Archive thing the way up today 956 today 956 Lenny the law and made his t.v. Debut Oh yeah it is on the b.b.c. Is dress rehearsal show while great for us as well ties together rather nicely doesn't it text 3129 says I had the pleasure of having to go to the Harry house and stores to collect some of his models the cases were full of his figures from Jason in the Argonauts and 10000000 years b.c. Absolutely brilliant that must be amazing you know Ray Harryhausen who is a very well known and very Jupiter trailblazer was named so I was running make sure absolutely and Kevin indeed from Finally for now says I saw the dog and the tears were at the u.e.a. In the late seventy's I think to stores and split the dog acts and Bob Carroll trees yeah. I think we've done we've dealt with most of the big puppets there way that I've been to Norfolk I mean if there are any others that we've missed let us know how 803897321 couple subjects I want to talk about after 9 o'clock Well we'll keep open monopoly and whether anybody actually likes playing it we want to know which is the board game that causes the most arguments because we think it's monopoly dart I think it's monopoly yes I think I think because people cheat monopoly that's what causes arguments and I also want to hear from you on whether you should be allowed to have a little nap at work will. Have to say I think I've ever tried to have an hour I don't think I could. Have an hour off now but would you well hey it's quite quite allowed off and you know I don't do well to get 40 when I don't think about how can we speak to anybody on this program in the next hour who will. To having a nap at work and does it do you any good is it the sort of thing we should be encouraging more because there are quite some conflicting reports around the sun. With your travel needs I think so. Very busy as you head from the new market road through towards the hospital this morning I can see. I can add around 15 minutes to Jenny buggy road still looking very heavy I can see traffic right the way through the street. Down by around 15 minutes at the moment and also still very large and very because of the road blocks there. Actions from the. Usual 47 between North and honey and by the by plex are in place as well if you can see anything else 080-389-7301 thanks very much b.b.c. Radio this is Chris Core I'm with your breakfast program and it is just coming up to 9 o'clock. Thanks. For that and plenty more after the b.b.c.
